Okay so with the upcoming war with the pope I am going to run down my army's organization. I am the perfect person to organize Italy's army because I have no idea what I am doing and neither did Italy ever.

Under the Royal Army Sardinian-Lombardia we have all this fun stuff.
- 3rd Army Corps (3º Corpo d'armata) (65k - standing, professional army)
--1st Division of the Line (25k)
---Brigade of the Line Nizza (5k)
---Brigade of the Line Torino (5k)
---Brigade of the Line Milano (5k)
---Brigade of the Line Genova (5k)
---Brigade of the Line Piedmonte (5k)
--3rd Division of the Line (25k)
---Brigade of the Line Brescia (5k)
---Brigade of the Line Firenze (5k)
---Brigade of the Line Bologna (5k)
---Brigade of the Line Modena (5k)
---Brigade of the Line Montova (5k)
--5th Division of the Line (15k)
---Brigade of the Line Sardegna (5k)
---Brigade of the Line Siena (5k)
---Brigade of the Line Parma (5k)

-6th Army Corps (6º Corpo d'armata) (45k reserves, mix of conscripts and volunteers)
--Who cares how this is organized it sucks

Now that is all infantry, I also have ponies and artillery. Currently I have 2,420 Cavalry and 80 guns. How does this work? Well, I'd like your advice. I am confused as to how I would organize this into the rest of my army exactly. Are ponies and guns usually part of the corps? are they independent and just tag along? Advice here is needed.

Also Garibaldi is gonna raise between 15-20k volunteers that he does whatever he wants with bc he's a baller like that and that is pretty much what he did anyways.

The Kingdom of Glitter wrote:-snip-

That organisation you have there looks fine to me.

I believe artillery and cavalry had their own corps, with cavalry probably being divided into separate units based on their roles (Lancer, Hussar, etc). If you can't find any information on that though, so I'd just organise your relatively small cavalry force into separate units (Again, Lancers, Hussars, whatnot) and divided up your men were you want them. Maybe give them regiments of 150? 200?

Guns are probably divided into batteries of separate calibre strength, with anywhere from 4 men or more. Again, I'd sort out what kind of artillery you have and just chop it up like that.

My information on the artillery comes from the Canon obusier de 12, implemented in 1853 IRL. A modern gun, which you may have some of (?) and only requiring a crew of 4.

Despite probably being independent corps of their own, they probably were "attached" to the other corps units as well.

Depends on tactics/strategy. It's possible to directly tie cavalry/artillery regiments at the brigade level, brigades at the division level, independent divisions/brigades/regiments directly at the corps level or have completely seperate cavalry/arty corps/divisions.

There are a lot of options. Which you choose depends on how combined arms-y your army is. More stress of cooperation, regiments tied to brigades. More stress of fufilling own objectives, seperate divisions/corps, and a mix any of the other options.

The wolf that shall keep it may prosper,

For the strength of the pack is the wolf,
And the strength of a wolf is the pack.
