"Good morning, my fellow Americans. You're listening to Freedom Radio. Today, the country shudders in the wake of cataclysmic devastation. Insurgents in New Seattle launched a major attack on multiple ration facilities, killing twenty eight people. Jeffrey McMillan of the National Defense Force stated that the attack was further evidence of the barbarism the terrorists are willing to delve to to destroy American lives. In other news, riots in the Northern territories continue. Authorities hope that the most recent crackdown will stem further violence. Conflicts in Europe continue as Russian forces claimed control of water treatment facilities in Germany...

September 2015: Russian Forces claim Ukraine, condemnations from the international community follow.

November 2015: Islamic terrorists continue fighting in the Middle East.

December 2015: Oil shortages cause widespread economic panic.

January 2016: A dozen people are killed during a mass shooting in Boston, calls for increased gun legislation continue.

March 2016: Palestinian forces take control of the Gaza Strip.

July 2016: The American economy experiences a second recession, foreign investors practically abandon the country.

August 2016: American forces withdraw from the Middle East, radical Islamic forces quickly retake power.

November 2016: The Chinese economy continues to grow.

January 2017: Iran develops and tests it's first nuclear weapon, independent of the international community.

June 2017: An unknown terrorist organization detonates a dirty bomb in New York. Millions are killed.

July 2017: Increased security measures throughout the United States lead to curbed civil liberties.

August 2017: Carl Harrison is elected President on a platform of "returning the US to it's former glory".

November 2017: North Korean forces, in the midst of a coup, attempt to cross the DMZ. The subsequent conflict escalates when Pyongyang is destroyed in a nuclear attack. Chinese forces go on high alert.

December 2017: Small scale engagement between North Korean Allied Chinese forces and American troops escalates into a small-scale nuclear engagement. Millions are killed during the conflict. Multiple American and Chinese cities are obliterated. Environmental devastation and nuclear winter soon follow.

January 2018: Permanent martial law is established in the United States. Food shortages lead to widespread rationing.

February 2018: Water and Oil shortages lead to widespread global conflict. Most notably, Russian and European Union forces come into conflict over the last reserves of fresh water on the continent. Moscow, London, and Berlin are destroyed in a nuclear offensive.

May 2018: An uncontrolled outbreak of a genetically modified virus leads to a global pandemic. Due to it's unpleasant symptoms, the disease is referred to as the "Red Death".

August 2018: In an attempt to access further oil reserves, the American military launches a massive offensive to annex Canada.

September 2018: Civil unrest in the States lead to the establishment of the National Defense Force (NDF), a special branch of the government designed to keep the peace and maintain order.

December 2018: Large portions of Canada are captured by the American military. Initial resistance to the occupation is quickly quashed.
February 2019: Political dissidents are captured and "re-educated" or executed throughout the States.

July 2019: Widespread economic collapse wracks the planet. The European Union dissolves. Israel is invaded by a coalition of Middle Easter countries. A populist revolution overthrows the Russian government. Water shortages, coupled with the effects of nuclear winter, kill millions.

August 2019: Several dozen American cities are quarantined following a resurgence of the Red Death.

January 2029: Present Day. The Patriots, a group of terrorist revolutionaries, are established to oppose the Harrison government. They establish a base of operations in New Seattle, while the NDF moves to prevent them from gaining a foothold.

About

The world is in ruins. Millions have died, widespread societal collapse causing the downfall of most countries. Nuclear war has rendered much of the planet uninhabitable. Disease, starvation, and continuing conflict will kill millions more in the coming years. The United States has been reduced to an authoritarian police state, quashing any resistance. Food is scarce, with most being lucky to receive their meager rations. A movement has sprung to fight back. The Patriots have begun to fight back against the National Defense Force, hoping to end this totalitarian nightmare. But, in every revolution, innocents will be harmed and violence may be the only way of solving things. Will the revolutionaries defeat their corrupt government? Will they be quashed like all those that came before? And if they do emerge victorious, what will be the cost? How many bodies will be buried in the foundations? How many innocents must die to save the future?

What is this?

This is a character RP, nonexistent questioning person. You'll be taking control of a revolutionary in a group calling themselves "The Patriots". The current government is an authoritarian police state, silencing any dissent. You'll be taking part in a revolution to try and topple the administration. Whether or not The Patriots are a morally abhorrent pack of terrorists or populist visionaries will be entirely dependent on your actions. Your actions could also cause the downfall of the organization, so there's that.

Bio (Two paragraphs minimum): Born in Toronto, Canada in 1987, Aaron led a relatively normal life. He had friends, family, and would go on to attend college with a full scholarship thanks to his skills in hockey. The global crisis hit Canada hard, though the government was mostly able to keep the peace. It was just after his marriage to his second wife in 2018 that the American government annexed Canada. His new wife was killed in the ensuing conflict, leading to him becoming embittered towards the American occupation.

In 2028, he moved to New Seattle in search of work, hoping his prior education might net him a reasonable job. However, he soon became embroiled in a resistance movement calling themselves "The Patriots". He helped file false citizenship for many of their members, even actively assisting them in operations until he became a major member of the organization 2029. He wants to make the NDF pay for ruining his life, and will do anything to make that happen.

However, he didn't like what he was doing, as he was aiding the government in murdering people who in his eyes did nothing wrong. What made him leave the NDF was the news that his closest friends (who resisted the totalitarian government) were massacred at a military raid near Redlands. Five years later, he hears of a group called "The New Patriots" from his friend Jackie Bell (see other app below), even getting invited by her into the group.

The police was called and her mother was arrested on the charges of child abuse. Augusta was then moved to an orphanage, where she lived for three years.

She was adopted by a gun enthusiast father and a neurosurgeon mother, who gave Augusta a new given name: Jacqueline (hence the nickname Jackie). She was adopted by her new parents, who brought her to live in Redlands. Jackie managed to finish college with a degree in software design, and works as an app designer. She also takes her time shooting at the local firing range and vlogging on social networking sites – on the latter, she became a vocal criticizer of the NDF's human rights abuses and of the martial law imposed by the US government. The NDF in response issued a warrant of arrest against her, and she fled to New Seattle, where she found refuge under the New Patriots.

Character Name: Katherine Tallow / Katelyn Tallow

Appearance:
Identical twins, Katherine and Katelyn are near indistinguishable from one another psychically. Both are small framed and malnourished, stunted at just under average height with angular faces and sharp features, a small nose, and thick eyebrows. Dirty blond hair worn in similar styles of disorder, hacked short at neck level and with jagged bangs brushing over their eyes. Fair skinned as well as freckled, having crooked grins and blue-green eyes. Both twins possess heterochromia in their right eye, the iris being more grey than blue, the difference being almost nonexistent in Katherine while being extremely prominent in Katelyn, the condition worsened by her prior illness. Habitually the twins dress alike, preferring loose fitted clothing such as hoodies and sweatpants.

Bio (Two paragraphs minimum):
Born 31 October 2011 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Katherine and Katelyn would spend their early years living in Washington state with their single mother, their father having died before their birth in a car accident. While money was hard to come by during the recession -- their mother worked multiple jobs to only just support them -- the sisters lived a relatively normal childhood, blissfully ignorant of the state of the world. During the Chinese/American War, the small family would return to British Columbia to stay with an uncle. He would later be killed during the Canadian Annexation.

In April of 2018 Katelyn and her mother would come down with the Red Death, the latter later dying due to severe complications arising from the disease. Katelyn would survive but would never fully recover, remaining frail and often times sickly even to this day. By the end of the year, with their uncle having already died in the annexation, the twins would be caught up in the exodus of refugees moving south and into Washington state. They would eventually be settled in an area that would later become New Seattle, staying briefly in an overcrowded shelter before running away following allegations of abuse. Though never formally investigated it is known that Katherine stabbed a caretaker with a kitchen knife after accusing him of harassing Katelyn.

The next ten years would be spent living on the streets, Katherine going through great difficulties to protect her sister. Originally reliant on petty theft to survive, the twins would later align themselves with various gangs as runners, delivering packages and contraband in exchange for food and shelter. Their allegiances, however, would remaining fleeting, swearing no lasting loyalty to any one person or ideal, prioritizing their own survival over that of others. This forced neutrality has led the sisters to being on good terms with various gangs and factions throughout the Seattle area, purposefully separating themselves from conflicts that, ultimately, do not concern them. While not particularly fond of the NDF the twins do not hold a hatred of the government, preferring to simply live in the moment regardless of global politics. Despite this they have recently become involved with the Patriots, more so out of necessity rather than revolutionary conviction. Marked by the NDF as belonging to the Patriots after a package delivery few wish to further have dealings with the sisters in fear of becoming targeted themselves. With few other options remaining, Katherine and Katelyn have opted to remain with the revolutionary group for the time being with plans to ultimately head back north and into Canada.

Katherine: Great endurance allows her to maintain a fast pace for long durations, making her a valuable asset as a runner. Capable of parkour to some measurable degree. Skilled in remaining unseen and hiding herself from threats. Possesses a balisong and, while not trained, knows where to stab to cause the most damage and/or pain. Excellent memory but prone to skimping over details. Has a basic understanding of first aid and medicine in general due to watching over her sister for so long.

Katelyn: Sickly and, as such, has poor endurance but is a decidedly faster sprinter than her sister. Extremely agile though exceptionally unbalanced and clumsy. Skilled in remaining unseen and hiding herself from threats. Great at maintaining lies and talking her way through difficult situations. Very observant but is also forgetful and scatterbrained. Has a natural musical talent, owning and playing an acoustic guitar that once belonged to her uncle.
