Ashes to Mortar Shells, a WW3 RP (OOC and Applications/OPEN)

In the year 2016, North Korea finally invades South Korea, prompting the USA to step in and try to repel them. This requires them to divert troops from the Middle East, which causes Iran, Egypt, and Syria to once again invade Israel, aided by Palestinian Rebels. Russia has pushed further into Ukraine, trying to annex the whole nation, prompting immediate action from a NATO Task Force of France, Britain, Belgium, Germany, and Canada to stop them. Russia declares war on all nations of NATO, as does North Korea, Syria, Iran, Egypt, and China. Russia annexes Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, and Armenia. North Korea and China launch a massive strike against South Korean, American, Australian, and New Zealander forces. Russia launches an assault on Ukraine to attempt and finish it's annexation.

You command a platoon of either:
20 soldiers
or
4 tanks
or
5 Infantry Fighting Vehicles

The Theater of War this thread will focus on is the Eastern European/Ukrainian Front. You will be able to choose from 7 different nations to fight for.

I may join because this seems fun, but the storyline is a bit....unrealistic. Egypt, Iran, and Syria would never ally with each other, and they most certainly wouldn't ally with China and North Korea. In fact, all of these countries dislike each other. China no longer likes N.K, Russia never liked China, and well the middle eastern countries pretty much hate everyone.

Regardless, I'll sign up eventually.

Syria and Egypt did ally in the Six Day's War against Israel. Mutual hate against Israel would probably create some form of a hesitant alliance. And the "Eastern Coalition" is basically like Nazi Germany and the USSR before Operation: Barbarossa. Neither nation trusts each other, and will probably turn on each other eventually, but for now they have allied against NATO.

True, true. Still an interesting scenario to RP with though.

I mean if it were 2020-ish, it would be a lot more realistic. That's five years of change that could occur.

2020 wouldn't have future tech, contrary to Call of Duty. At best they would have a little bit better armor and a little bit better weapons.

Lasers and railgund are due to be adopted by the USN by 2019-2023. That's future tech in my book.
