Wow. seriously, these semblances are sort of game-breakingly OP. I think we need an OP review on them.

Of course we won't go to that extent.

Although if we had to make a fight break out between them, it would get to that point.

And we've already established that Leonard and Neo's character have already fought and basically teared a whole district apart while Leonard was younger, and during his graduation, he punched, with his bare hands, a Nevermore back to dust.

Now that he's a teacher, him being that powered is fairly normal, although he does struggle against people like Ulfric, or Ether.

Kinetics though, with a mastered, would be able to do more than stop time, and for longer than 10 seconds.
Just imagine... the very blood in your body coming to a halt and fighting against you because of some smirking crossdressing asshole down the street. Or, a blimp being yanked from the sky to crash on your head.

Or a dolphin somehow flying from the nearby ocean and impaling your face. This last one is nonsense and purely for the hilarious image it gave me.

Mastered aura for Lyras would also allow flight, for sure. He'll be able to sort of glide and fly short distances without mastery, but not very high or fast.

Mastery or near mastery level of it, though, forget it. No one is beating that. Kinetics = kinetic energy = the state of all energy for physics to exist. Mastered kinetics basically makes you master of physics, and no one is going to be able to beat his aura then, it will be capable of too much with a counter to everything.
Unless you were to exhaust him, of course, but that would take...
A long time. And alot of dead people trying.

He can't train himself to that, though, so i don't think we have to worry much about some vengeful lunatic flying around throwing houses at people. OMG that looks so funny in my head...

The thing is, Leonard still has utter control and mastery over those arts, whether or not Lyras stops the blood in his body from going, the Ripple will make it continue to pump, as long as he breathes or is standing, there is just no way simple kinetics will hurt him, he can even manually do it with his Stand by making it pump the blood directly.

If he goes to the length of time stop, Lyras is basically as good as dead, no point in even trying, knives, road rollers... Everything will suddenly be falling on Lyras's face, an no amount of kinetics is going to stop it.

ROAD ROLLER DA.

Nope, full mastery of kinetics can do about anything.

Seriously, take a moment. Physics. The LAWS OF PHYSICS, governing how the universe works, is fighting you.

You cannot win. You lose by default. You may as well literally fight the universe.

Time stopping won't help you. First, he could overmatch it. His thing is kinetics and physics, he can stop time and force it along better than you can, and remember, we're talking about the same levels of aura mastery here, so you can't do that, he'll break it. Even if he couldn't, the kinetic shield at this level classifies as a reality marble. It is immune to changes from the world around it, and is unaffected by anything you try to do to the inside of it. Meanwhile, it can still fire kinetic blasts out of it to attack.

If he stops your blood moving, what happens next is, your heart explodes. You lose Sorry, but no amount of aura is going to keep you fighting when something as important as the heart is nothing but splattered tissue. You are dead, and aura does nothing when you are dead.
He could just as easily fry your nerves. You're dead. Your brain is now disconnected from your body, all your organs fail, etc etc, you're dead. No aura will help you here. You simply die.
Or turn all the water in your body to steam, and then you explode from pressure.
Or he could straight up make you explode with a kinetic ball in your chest.

Mastered kinetics is an arsenal of unavoidable, one-shot kills. Kills that aim at destroying your body, not your aura. Because if you're body is dead, your aura is worthless.
Doesn't matter who or how good you are. You cannot beat a weaponized, spiritual form of the working universe. The only thing capable of beating the universe is itself, which means the only one who could kill Lyras if he ever was fully mastered, was himself.

Everyone else, would be dead before they lifted their weapon, or used any form of aura technique. Block it one way, no problem. It's the laws of physics turned into a weapon, it has infinite ways to kill you in less than 5 seconds.

Which is why it is a good thing there is no current way for Lyras to master his aura, or it's game over by default. Even Leonard would be equivalent of a rag doll toy at such a point, he would be just as easily disposable and crushed as anyone else. When the laws of everything decide to give one person their power, and that person masters it, nobody is safe, everyone is dead. They just don't know it yet. And i mean it, there are an infinite number of ways to insta kill Leonard at this power level for Lyras. And even healing aura that heals severe wounds in less than a second, will not help when you're dead before you can use it.

That rant over, reiterating, it isn't going to happen, so isn't extremely important anyway.

And now, i feel like a massive jackass. I always feel like a massive jackass when i explain things. It's stupid.

Anyway. None of the above is ever going to happen anyway, so nobody should even give the slightest amount of fucks that it is, technically, possible. Cause it won't happen.

Moving on.

Yeah, that's what I was pointing out up there.

Anyway, we need to thread to move on, it's starting to get a bit stale now.

Even if she doesn't show up much.

My whole team (Heamet, Aria, Ether, Theriam) is in Vic's class, Leonard is currently outside of the academy.

Marbles?
A rice cooker that turns into a crescent moon halberd that shoots the blade in a boomerang?

I am kinda worried that some characters that are students get to be more OP than other students. I could accept Glynda-level OP teachers if I want to but I recommend there be only a couple of teacher characters with that level of power. Bab, even if you don't use your semblance a lot or whatever makes Lyras strong anyways, I am once again asking you to tone it down a bit. This RP isn't competitive in nature.

Shyluz wrote:Soooo... any ideas on a weapon for Chess?

I tend to do this to assess recommendations. What is Chess specialized in? Close combat? Ranged combat? All-rounder? Stealth? Brute strength? If you do know, I could recommend you a kind of weapon that could go with the preferred style of combat your character may have.

1. Hmmm, that could be possible.
2. No. The espresso bat was great but a transforming rice cooker may not work unless you give me a plausible method of how this would work.

Grimm Identification and Studies - Leika
Combat - Victoria (and Reina her assistant)

I'm still competitive by nature, Storm. Nature is hard, very hard to change. It is though, just... slowly. It's always going to be a slow process.

CHARACTER INFORMATION
Name: Caitlyn ‘Chess’ Cheshire
Age: 16
Sex: Female (kind of)
Race: [ ] Human [ X ] Faunus
Animal Traits : Tail, Ears, Love of Fish, Canines
Biography: Chess was born in Atlas, where she lived a mostly normal life working her way through a combat school with her inseparable twin brother, Isaac. They worked hard, and together, the duo were nigh unstoppable. Well, that is until the incident happened. The incident, was a rather traumatic experience.

Some twins have the strange ability to feel the other, and Chess and Isaac were no exception. Often, Chess and Isaac would walk into the school wearing matching bruises or cuts. One could hardly ever tell the two apart. Except for the twin blades that were nigh-identical, except for the different ammunition patterns. That, was literally the one visible way to tell them apart.

Then the incident occurred. The pair were out on a small-scale training test outside the walls of Atlas, and the team was separated. The two other students had already been recovered from the blizzard by the military, but Chess and Isaac were lost, and separated. In the cold solitude of the blizzard, Isaac was ambushed by Grimm, his left eye was immediately torn from it's socket, and he was brutally torn to pieces by a horde of Grimm. Chess felt every wound lace across his body, and the brain created wounds from nothing, her left eye turning from the grey to a sharp amber and it became useless. Scars lace across her body, and her brother's persona merged with hers, turning her from the Caitlyn Atlas knew, into the Chess Vale knows now.

She moved to Vale, and then began to attend Beacon, for what it's worth, becoming an Atlesian exchange student there. She has average grades, and nearly the entire student population believes her to be a boy, as Isaac has become the slightly dominant persona in Chess' psyche.
Personality: Shy, soft spoken, quiet, yet very much like the Cheshire Cat... At least, that's Caitlyn. Chess would be more like this -- devious, perverted, overambitious, maybe a little insane.
Appearance:

COMBAT INFORMATION
Weapon: Chimamire Usagi
Appearance:

Capabilities: The Usagi has two functions, an shotgun-like sheath, carrying a standard magazine of three rounds, slug or shell. It also has a small revolver carrying five small mid-sections of dust-infused blade in a sakura pattern. The user designates the type of mid-section, fire, ice, lightning, air, or straight up steel, and squeezes the trigger, firing the shell/slug and propelling the blade into the wielder's hand. Or into the foes face. Whatever works.

Semblance: Presight -- This semblance is essentially precognition of the world around the wielder, though it comes at a cost. The user can dodge attacks, cut bullets, but the farther one looks into the future, the worse a toll on the body. Looking five seconds causes Chess to pass out for an hour. Looking two severely drains the user. Thus, it's normally used in bursts of a half second to dodge incoming attacks or even parry.

OOC INFORMATION
RP Activity: 3-4 hours a day. Minimum.
RP Example (link or one shot): Bah, Pretty sure ye know me. If not, I'll just say EHEG.
Did you read the rules? Naturally.

Cheers.

All done. :p

Contemplating a reworking of Reina's semblance... She's a teacher who's stuck with a power that seems plain useless next to the OP students...

Ulfric's, Aiden's, Victoria's, and Earwulf's(?) Semblance are pretty balanced in my opinion.
