Ellen went through the same procedure as everyone else, having a helmet put on them and being strapped down to the chair. She didn't trust these people yet but decided that she had to go along with them either way. After all, if she didn't cooperate it would only harsher and they would make her take the test anyway. Much better to just go along with everyone else.
She could sense the helmet before it was placed on her head, including those of the others around her. She didn't probe deeply into it, but what she could sense seemed... different. Almost as if there was another presence there. She didn't dare go any further. The helmet was by now firmly placed on her head, and before she knew what was happening she felt a prick at the base of her skull and her senses numbed, losing all feeling. All of a sudden, she felt the shock of not sensing any device in proximity. It was almost as if a switch had been flicked and turned off the constant data streams emanating all around her. She couldn't even sense the helmet's systems anymore.
She heard a voice and figured that it was probably part of the test. "Ellen. Ellen Harvin." she said. "And I can sense and alter digital signals. Not now though. Whatever you just did blocked my powers. So in case you want them in action, why don't you take this helmet off and return them to me?" She continued, knowing that whoever was speaking probably wouldn't succumb to her demands. Still, no harm in trying, right?
"Thank you, Ellen. I did not block your powers, not intentionally at least. Your powers will be restored in a moment after I generate your simulation."
Caine created the simulation. It took place in a small city park, where a masked man with a gun was holding several kids hostage. Nearby was a busy street with a computerized traffic light system. Other than that, there were no computers in sight (But some perhaps may be unseen).
"Good luck, Ellen," Caine said, putting Ellen next to a tree fairly close to the kids.

Julian looked at the scars and put his hand on her cheek. "Someone harmed by society willing to help them. It is like a classical hero's story."

"Good luck, Ellen," Caine said, putting Ellen next to a tree fairly close to the kids.
Ellen quickly assessed her environment after being placed into it and ducked behind a tree she'd been placed next to. Peering around the tree, she could see several kids being held at gunpoint by a masked figure. She was in a park. And judging by the sound of traffic coming from somewhere nearby, there was a street nearby. She knew she had to act fast but didn't know what to do. She could try and make a run for the street, but that would be too risky. What if she was seen? She forced herself to think logically. Since this simulation had been created specifically for her based on her abilities, there must be something she could use.
She probed as far out as possible, still in her hiding place behind the tree.
First, she took control of the CCTV cameras in the nearby vicinity. There were none in this particular area but there were a few in the street and another couple in the park itself that were in range. None of them gave her a view of the hostage situation but she hacked into them to get a view of the surrounding area. She'd be able to see the street from here then.
There was also a computerized traffic light system that she altered, making all the traffic lanes green at the same time. It wasn't of any particular direct use but it was going to create confusion, and that was what she needed. Almost immediately afterwards, she turned on the radios of as many cars as were in range and turned their volumes up full. She followed up with causing the masked man's cell phone to ring, hoping it would distract him. She did all of this in less than half a minute, closing her eyes and focusing on it.

"Hey, everyone. It's me... Caine. I know today has been... difficult... and I want to apologize. I know how hard it is... being taken to a new place... and I know how hard it is to get used to this place... but we're not here to imprison you... we're not here to punish you... the guards and I- rarely use force... only when it threatens other students. So I'm sorry, that all this happened to you, and I'm sorry you were taken here against your will and I'm sorry it takes time to get used to this place and I'm sorry I messed up. That... that is all."
Caine ended the message and sighed.

Alice looked up. "Chill, HIVEmind... even AIs aren't perfect. But 'to forgive is divine', mhm? So chill. I still like you." What can I say? I've always had a soft spot for Artificial Intelligence.

Justice frowned. "So we're on opposite sides..." she muttered. "You know, if we were dating or something that would be pretty awkward, me being a villain and you being a hero."

It only appears when it needs to, and it's completely different from my normal self. So, I don't think it would be awkward"

"Good," smiles Justice, leaning closer to him. "I like you, Oliver. I don't want to end up fighting you, or arguing with you all the time because you're a hero."
She considered kissing him, just to see how he reacted. He's nice, I should get closer to him and maybe I'll have a real ally here, she thought, before attempting to quickly kiss him on the lips.

Heiwa giggled and lowered her violin before anyone could get too offended or defensive.
"I'm kidding guys."
She said to William and Julius. She really didn't want to get in trouble so soon, especially after that announcement that just went out. She stood up and picked up her tray,
"Well, I guess I'll see you two around. Julius, no judgment days for a little while and William, no attacking Julius until he brings a judgment day mkay? Mkay!"
She said before bounding off to the tray receptacle. After depositing her tray she turned to exit the cafeteria, but curiosity stopped her on the way out as she spotted Ethan. Looking to find out more about the odd one she stopped by his table,
"Hello, my name is Heiwa. What's yours?"

Heiwa smiled cheerfully to Ethan, noting how nervous he was.
Why's he stuttering? I'm not scary am I? Well . . . I doubt I'm scary
She pointed to an open chair at the table,
"May I sit? I was going to my dorm but I remembered I had to find a roommate and I haven't met any girls yet. So I have time to kill."
She said with a chuckle as she carefully put her violin down.
"How did things go with your simulation?"

"Friends, you say," Justice laughed. "If you ever want to be more than that, I'm up for it," she added, not mentioning that she already has a boyfriend on the outside of the Academy.

Heiwa sat down across the table from him and sighed,
"You too? Well, don't worry, mine didn't go that well either."
She replied comfortingly. She tilted her head, looking at Ethan curiously,
"Are you okay? Am I scaring you?"
She asked rather bluntly.
