Welcome to the Ain't What it Used to Be: 2055 Nation RP

Welcome to the year 2055. The past forty years have been eventful, to say the least. The darker days of the 21st century are behind the world, and it seems that the new order that arose out of the ashes of the old has stabilized enough. Who knows how long this will last? Who knows when the next crisis will strike?

The crisis of the early 21st century began with the Great Recession of 2008. The Recession weakened the entire global economy, but just as it seemed to be sputtering back to life in the late 2010s, another crisis hit. The "petrodollar" system, negotiated by the United States and the various OPEC currencies, was destroyed when OPEC declared a second oil embargo against the United States and the rest of the West in 2017. This was done as a result of the United States being less dependent on OPEC oil thanks to an increase in domestic production, resulting in the US becoming a direct competitor to OPEC and the American government gradually supporting Israel more in the various conflicts against the chaos that has engulfed its neighbors (including Egypt). The United States dollar spiraled into massive inflation, destroying the American economy overnight.

It was not long before unrest began. Riots by the desperate and hungry spread throughout the country. Politicians seemed incapable of doing anything, as both Democratic and Republican parties pandered to the more extreme wings of their parties. As government, on the local, state and federal level, cracked down on the unrest, the people cried tyranny and demanded a rollback on the "police state." By 2020, after President Biden refused to run for office, and the Republican Party was too splintered to successfully rally around a candidate. In the end, it didn't matter, because the presidential election would be canceled due to the Texas Crisis. Tensions between Texas and the United States had been brewing since the late 2000s, but the final nail in the coffin was when Texas National Guard refused to allow American military into the state as part of a training exercise. When the National Guard attempted to arrest American soldiers crossing over the border, fighting broke out between the two groups. When the governor of Texas refused to order the National Guard to stop, and an attempt was made by FBI to arrest him, Texas declared itself independent from the Union, on the grounds that the federal government had violated Texas' constitutional rights.

The fall of the American hegemony had interesting effects on the rest of the world. NATO, the old one, was powerless, and soon Europe found itself fighting against a very bold, very old, Vladimir Putin. Fighting was limited to the Baltics, Belarus and Ukraine, and never went nuclear. While the Russians ultimately lost the Eurasian War[3], it was no walk in the park for the European governments either - the collapse of the US hurt the Euro, and the massive war expenditures killed it. The Euro, and then the European Union itself, broke up, with the various European powers creating regional blocs. In the meanwhile, Greece fell to a communist revolution. Go figure.

In China, tensions between the People's Republic and its neighbors reached a boiling point. Once the dollar collapsed, the CCP knew its days were numbered. In a fit of desperation, they decided that the best way to motivate the people (and keep their large male population distracted) was a short, clean war in the South China Sea. The Sino-Asian War did not turn out well for the Chinese. After a failed invasion into Vietnam[4] and the destruction of the Chinese navy at the hands of Japan and South Korea, the People's Republic eventually fell to internal unrest. The war had cut China off from all imports, destroying its economy and causing more problems than it hoped to solve with a short war. A second Republic of China was declared by defecting PLAN revolutionaries in Beijing in 2028, and by 2032, they had the entire country under their control.

The Middle East powder keg exploded, and after the dust settled, Israel was the big winner. The Saudi-Iranian "cold war" became hot, after the Saudi royal family was overthrown by an Islamist revolt, supported by the Islamic State, which the Iranians sought to stop. Israel joined the fray after the Islamic State attacked it in retaliation for giving covert support to the Iranians (the lesser of two evils, in Tel Aviv's eyes), and the Israelis showed the Islamic State exactly why the older Arab governments did not want to mess with them. While the Islamic State did succeed in destroying the Islamic Republic of Iran, they merely paved the way for Israeli dominance of the region.

Timescale:
In this RP, I will be generally directing the timescale, although you are welcome to help out with that in the game. Because of the nature of the way RPs like this work, a single day can elapse over countless posts, or a single post can advance the timeline by a month. All that is asked is that no-one advance the timeline unreasonably. By this I mean that if two nations are at a conference and are engaging in discussions, some other player can't make a post that takes place a week in the future. That being said, try to keep such conferences to a minimum in order to keep the timeline moving. And be aware of the limitations that exist in communication technologies at this time.

Waging War:
Any conflict that is started must be waged reasonably and realistically. This is still the Twenty First Century people! Troops are constantly hampered by the technological limitations of the day, which I will go into more detail about below:

Technology:
Understanding the limitations of your nation's technology is important. Make sure that you play according to that technology.

Know How to Lose:
This is the biggest problem I see in RPs, and I have no doubt that some dummy will cause this issue at some point. In every battle, at every second, every side tries to describe some heroic definitive victory move, a "checkmate" if you will, that causes their army to emerge victorious. This results in an incredibly childish back-and-forth and makes the game un-enjoyable. if you are losing due to decisions made earlier on, then for god's sake lose! Don't try to make up some bullcrap about a single unit of soldiers that manages to survive and win the day, that's not how real war works. Now, I'm not saying that occasionally, in certain circumstances, definitive heroics aren't allowed. If I catch anyone breaking this simple rule of integrity in a major way, there will be one warning, followed by out-the-door.

Meta-Gaming:
This is the last point I need to make. What is meta-gaming? Well, when the British start thinking about negotiating a takeover of Mexico, and suddenly Mexico boosts it's military numbers way up and is put on high alert, that's meta-gaming: because Mexico couldn't possibly know exactly what the British were thinking. This is unacceptable. Also, you must declare espionage before you commit it, (either on the OOC or IC) you can't just say that you committed espionage and knew the enemy's plans after you had decimated their entire army.

THE UNITED KINGDOM OF GREAT BRITAIN AND IRELAND

PROLOUGE

Standing beside the edge of the changing ways of historical fashion, times continued to drift forward into the abyss. The UK, despite the collapse of its fractured empire, had maintained its dominance as a leading power in the now global world. As the 2008 financial crisis began to approach, British markets began to stagnate, it was the calm before the storm of what was to come. Foreign politics and economic structure ignored the issue however, and the population was willfully ignorant of the impending catastrophic decline that was approaching. However, the media began to drive towards the United States of the America, with its fractured structure becoming increasingly clear. Unwilling to drop out of their strongest ally, the British army considered Operation: Majestic, the complete intervention of the US, and restore the government. However, this was dismissed as 'too radical, risky and unnecessary' by Parliament, and thus was never put into practice.

Once the US government crippled and the entire country faced collapse, as did the internal political structure. The loss of the American economic superpower blew out a large proportion of the British economy, with several resources lost and overall economic decline. In an effort to preserve modern identity, the UK looked towards NATO and the EU, yet with several nations leaving facing their own issues without the US, NATO was then dissolved. As for the EU, it was incapable of assisting some if its member-states destroyed by the crisis, and thus eventually collapsed in on itself once the nations refused to give up their sovereignty. Combined with the slowdown of the Chinese economy, British markets saw a huge influx of the economy, London spiraled into a debt crisis as the government became more in need of new partners, as it wasn't prepared to deal with such a crisis. Britain became isolationist, unemployment rose dramatically and protests and unrest began to stir.

Radical groups formed, and although the nation loosely held together, rebel groups were able to take advantage of this, and cause the UK more trouble. As the government lost control over its people and military slowly, organizations such as the IRA and Scottish rebels seized this opportunity. In April 7th, 2026, IRA bombed British residents in Belfast, marking the begging of the new conflict in Northern Ireland. The situation grew more dire as the IRA gained a foothold in Ireland, and nearly occupied it completely. Scotland themselves achieved brief independence. Despite the guerrilla war, by 2033, the British economy began to recover. Militia regiments began to enroll onto the army, and by October 20th 2033, Edinburgh was re-captured and the Scottish government issued surrender, with the rebel groups crushed and disbanded only 3 months later. Belfast was retaken in February 2nd 2034 and IRA armies were defeated at Lisburn, many IRA members were captured and the organization hasn't been seen since. Once Ireland was integrated, it would remain autonomous until 2037, when order had been restored, and Irish rebels were completely defeated. British residents have flawked to the island, in an effort to assimilate the Irish, to prevent a rebellion.

With new major nations forming, in order to maintain a strong and influential (and global) British authority, Britain seized the opportunity to take control of weaker and crippled countries. Gibraltar was eventually liberated from its constant occupation by rebels in 2035. After London provoked the invasion of Ireland, the Irish-Anglo war began, at this time, the British army began to reform, while the Irish were still comprised of local militia's. Dublin would fall in 3 months after a naval blockade and a loss of supplies, this was assisted by the little remainder of the RAF. Irish armies were defeated at Connacht, and was annexed into the Union. Guerrilla forces would be destroyed 5 months later. Jamaica was annexed once a ultimatum was sent to the nation, Jamaica complied. In an attempt to gain a foothold in Southeast Asia, a invasion of Singapore was launched, but badly organized and led, it failed, however, nearly half of the army was rescued. However, a re-invasion of Singapore has been considered multiple times in the past, yet has never been looked into.

Since 2045, The UK has worked on rebuilding their economy and military. The British economy is a powerhouse, self-sufficient for the most part and powered by trade and industry, the military as been rebuild and stronger than ever before. The navy ruling the seas. New interests are within the US, Europe, Korea, and in space. Over time, due to chaos and changing ways, Muslim populations fell due to some oppression under civilian groups, and the atheist population doubled.

President James Alibannez, gave the speech about the importance of extending influence into Southern Africa, which is underway and will be successful, had it been not for the refusal of the Botswana and Namibia's governments to join the union. So far, revolutionaries had been popped up at Namibia and Botswana, enough to remove their current governments which are not willing to join the union state of Madagascar. Revolution Enterprises isn't happy about that, and for years they had tried to supported the revolutionaries to success. The Union State of Madagascar is a thriving nation with problems on the side of resistance from natives over the control of the Revolution Enterprises within Madagascae

Afrikaans Commonwealth is an obstacle on the quest to turn Southern Africa into one country.

Federal Republic of New England, February 2055.

As President Charlotte looked through the newspaper, she began to fume. Finally, her face turned red and she got up from her chair. "What the HELL is going on to our north!". Her VP, a small town girl from Connecticut named Mackenzie Patrikson, answered in her normal, steady voice. "Ma'am, what you just read is exactly what's going on. The Quebecois have initiated a genocidal campaign against all Anglophones. We must act on this at once. We have to show that genocide won't be tolerated anywhere, certainly not on our doorstep". President Clinton stared, bug-eyed, at her VP. "So what do you want me to do, invade Quebec? That's an act of war, is that worth it?". Her VP bit her lip, and opened her mouth again. "Well, some of the other diplomats have suggested that this is the excuse we need to annex the Maritime Provinces. They are culturally like New England, and being cut off from the rest of Canada by Quebec has made them at least ponder annexation. It would be worth it". President Clinton shook her head. "No. We will not annex the Maritime without Canada's permission. If we are to reform NAFTA, we must be friends with all North American nation. That means if we invade Quebec, we have to install a leader that is neither Anglophone or Quebecois. Someone like... You". Mackenzie stared at her, confused. "What?". The President simply stayed serious. "Yes. You're perfect. Friendly to New England, and you're Scottish-American instead of French or British Canadian". The Vice President thought this over for a moment, then shook her head. "No. They'd simply fight together to depose a foreigner set upon the seat by another country. It'd never work". The President sighed. "Well, we have one more option. We could divide Quebec. Move all the Anglophones north, create an independent nation or Canadian province populated by Anglophones. All Quebecois move south, that part stays the independent Quebec". The VP nodded. "That sounds like a great idea. Can't guarantee that Quebec will be very happy with us, but it's worth a shot". The President shot of a quick letter, and war was declared. Soon, the Anglophones would fear Quebec no more.

Montreal, Quebec, two weeks later:
The New England Vermont Army and New York Garrison had moved into Quebec soon after war was declared, moving to take Montreal. Currently, both of New England's Heavy Armor regiments are battling for control of the city. Evacuation of all Anglophones has been going smoothly, with most of the city's surviving Anglophones being directed north. New England has armed any Anglophones willing to fight, and they have started a rebellion in the north for the creation of an independent Anglophone state in North Quebec. So far, they have not had much success, but they have taken a city. More Anglophones are en route to assist the rebellion. New as gland has also contributed 4 Attack Helicopters, 3 Fighters Jets, and one bomber to bombard Quebecois positions and give the NE troops some breathing room.

Status report on war with Quebec:
The entire New England Armed Forces have been or are undergoing mobilization, and most of the army has moved into Quebec. New England's Air Force is performing daily bombing runs of Quebec City and other cities in Quebec. The Navy is going around the Maritime Provinces to bombard the Quebec coast and launch an invasion of East Quebec. Currently, the plan(unknown to anyone but New England) was a pincer movement. Sea invasions from the East and North, land invasions from the West and South. The rebellion in the north would occupy Quebec just enough so that the army could crush them. The current estimation for when Quebec City would be under NEM(New England Military) control was around 1 month. Estimation for the rest of the country falling was 3 months. However, this all accounted for everything going New England's way. And everyone knew that this war needed to be efficient and quick. A perfect one hit knockout punch, send Quebec reeling before they even knew what hit them.

Chapter One: Manifest Liberty

The economy was chugging along quite nicely. With the large defense expenditures spent during the Civil war and the resulting proxy war with Korea throughout the world, America had cemented it's place as one of the top economies, and the only way to go was up. As well, the death of the baby boomer population had allowed the permeating labor and unemployment problem to temporarily fade into the background. With the disappearance of several economic problems had allowed the Americans to focus on other problems, such as expanding industry and filling it's factories with workers. It would not be an easy task, but it opened up discussion on another pet project of the President, a nation wide Mag-Lev system to connect the continent and continue reducing pollution. It and a infrastructure reform, planning to rebuild and expand roads and highways nation wide, would help continue growth within the America's.

Live in the Space Corps was boring to say the least. Without missions, it was mostly piloting Drones for repairs and recon on movements of militaries. Korea was a specific concern of the Second Republic. They couldn't declare open war without drawing international backlash, but it was possible to disrupt the Korean military and keep them confused. Today was the beginning of Operation Starlight, a plan to cripple the Korean military without open war. Phase one, which they were about to begin now, was to basically shut off power to Korea, and steal confidential information on Korean space flights and Naval movements. Korea had never been the strongest when it came to Cyber defense, but really, neither had America.

"Operation Starlight, Phase one is a go." With that, the screen before him filled with numbers before several digital maps of Korean space flights appeared on screen, as well as one or two Korean naval movements.

We request you cease all military operations within Quebec. This is a direct violation of sovereignty despite their acts. While genocide is a terrible thing, actions against the state should be handled in international courts, not by your blade, so in effect, the Second American Republic declares a direct blockade of your nation until our demands are met. Your troops have one week to leave or else military action will be considered.

The Greater Korean Republic

Kim Jong-su walked into the war room in Pyongyang, just down the hall from his office. The top officials of the Greater Korean Republic had been called to the meeting in order to discuss a subject that had been worrisome to Kim, the failing diplomacy of the Republic. Premiers from all three districts had been ordered to be present, along with the top officials of the Korean People's Army and the Assembly Chairman, Pak il-sun.

As Kim walked in, all talk dissipated and everyone's eyes fell on him as he made his way to his seat at the head of the table. His walk, it was one with confidence, confidence of a strong, competent leader. He sat down, took a look around the room to make sure that all of the requested officials were present. He rubbed the back of his neck, took a deep breath in, and spoke.

"Why is that our diplomacy is failing?"

"Sir, we have many allies. The Oceanians, Russians, all of them, they are strong allies." His State Premier, Yu Kang-li, spoke.

"Pfft. Russians and Oceanians. If that's all we have to our résumé then we need to really work harder."

"The Americans..." One person spoke, but Kim interrupted before he could recognize who it was.

"I will not align myself with the Americans. I don't want to hear them in my conference." Kim said authoritatively. "Who could we make better relationships with?"

"The Californians," Japanese Premier, Kye Su-tang began. "would be very good allies, but with our current state of affairs with China, they would never align theirselves with Korea."

"So are you saying we should make an attempt to better relations with China?"

"If I may interject," Supreme General of the Korean People's Army, Kim Hyong-yang spoke up, "allying China would ascertain that, if America allied China, Korea would be free from a military engagement coming from the North in the event of total war."

"Not to mention the various economic possibilities that come with allying the Chinese." Korean Economic Advisor to Tokyo, June So-tin, said. "If we entice them with relaxed trade, maybe free travel between Korean and Chinese citizens, with your consent of course, then that could bring Californian interest as well."

Kim did not reply immediately, instead sitting back and thinking. California as allies would provide various benefits to the Greater Korean Republic, but the only way to California, is through China. Better relations with China would equal new relations with California. "Very well, I'll contact the Chinese, offer a meeting in Seoul to discuss our border situation. See how things develop in the meeting, we'll see where things go from there."

The various officials nodded around the room, agreeing with the Supreme Leader that this is the best route to take in regards to China and therefore California. Kim was about to dismiss the meeting when one final subject struck his mind. "Madagascar," he said. "I've been thinking lately and I was thinking of offering them an exclusive contract to outfit the entirety of the Korean People's Army with new weapons, equipment, and facilities."

"But-"

"This wasn't meant to be a discussion, this was a notification." Kim said. "This meeting is dismissed. Carry on with your daily obligations."

The officials stood up almost simultaneously, bowed to the Supreme Leader and left the room. Kim remained seated, it was a new day for him. Korea had been very particular in who they aligned. Primarily designating Socialist nations as targets for good relations, this was the first time in a very long time that democratic countries would become primary targets to become allies. This was a new day in Korea.

His moment of thought was broken up with his secretary rushing in. "Supreme Leader, Korean space flight and naval information has been compromised."

"What?" Kim asked in shock. "What do you mean?"

"Power was cut off to Korean SPACOM and NACOM, confidential information on Space flights and naval movements have been breached by an unknown source. Our best counter-cyberterrorists are working to gain knowledge of the source of the attack."

"Fuck!" Kim exclaimed banging his hand on the table. "Change the defense codes, abandon all proposed space flights and suspend current flights. Have all naval movements reroute theirselves. And for fuck's sake make our defense codes more complex fuck!" Kim yelled.

"Yes sir,"

"GO!" Kim rushed him out the room. His secretary ran out the room. He sat down, clenching one hand into a fist and pinching his brow with the other. "Fuck."

But planes in the sky. 3 bombers, carpet bombing a city in unison can do a hell of a lot of damage. And when those bombs are full of napalm, as close to Greek Fire as we can get? Hell, the parts of the city not destroyed by bombing will be burnt to the ground". The President signed the order, and it was given. "One more thing, General. We will still supply the Anglophone rebels. Gift them with guns, ammo, tanks, mobile infantry, and order the construction of two Fighters to be given to the rebels. We may be leaving on the ground, but by God we won't stop helping.

Montreal, Quebec:
The New Englander troops had received the order several hours earlier, the army would be forced to evacuate Montreal within the week. One final act was to light the rest of Montreal on fire, destroying the city. As the army marched back to New England, the city of Montreal burned in the background. One sole bomber flew over the city, dropping its last payload and blowing up the financial district. Going along with the soldiers was the last Anglophones of Montreal, who would be allows to build a settlement in Vermont, so they could live on without Quebecois breathing down their backs. The same would happen in other places in Quebec, any and all Anglophones being evacuated to Vermont, were New Ottawa would become the new home fore Quebecs displaced Anglophones until either north Quebec became independent, or if I didn't, the Anglophones would have to stay in New England.

As the "Worker's March" played, General Secretary Peter Hasenkam and Premier Joseph Andren walked in the hallway towards the seats for them at the front of the room. Waiting in the room were the world's press and delegates of the Oceanic Communist Party's 39th Annual Conference, waiting to discuss the issue of foreign policy. Since the election of the OCP in 2021, Oceania had taken a mostly isolationist approach apart from their annexation of Pacific islands. Oceania had little interaction with the major players, but had recently formed an alliance with the Greater Korean Republic. With the introduction of Glasnost in the last 2 years, Oceania had become more open, however still authoritarian. As the General Secretary and Premier sat, the General Secretary took the microphone and began the conference by telling the delegates and press that they may ask whatever they like.

The First question was from a young Oceanic student and party member. He asked "In these times of greater instability around the world, who does Oceania look to or do they look to themselves for protection?"
The General-Secretary had expected this question and had an answer prepared "Oceania looks to herself for her general protection, however looks to her friends for support in times of need."
The second question came from a journalist from America. "And General-Secretary, who are those friends? Do you look to the West or do you look to the Russians and Greater Korean Republic"
The General-Secretary answered without a moment's thought "We wish to be friends with all nations sir, but whether nations reciprocate that or not is another question."
The Audience gave the General-Secretary a round of applause in support of what he had said, because it was indeed true. It was not Oceania's wish to get involved in the politics of the world, however the circumstances had dictated that Oceania had to get involved. Oceania had tried to please the powers, but not all had replied, leaving the General-Secretary disappointed.
The rest of the conference went on, discussing various other parts of foreign policy including trade and ended an hour later.

As the General-Secretary led the Premier to his office, he asked him how it went.
"I think it went well my friend, but we must be cautious not to cause an incident by offending other powers." the Premier said
"I agree, but I believe that now is the time to launch Operation Rush." The General-Secretary replied
"But...uh...sir, no one else has done anything to cause us to launch it." The Premier said
"No matter, I can see it coming, and we need to be ready to defend Oceania." The General-Secretary said, smiling.

With that, Operation Rush began, and the construction of the air force super-carriers, the Oceania-Class and the construction of a space station to complement the fleet of carriers as a space base was to begin. 3-d printers would construct the parts quickly, with the construction of the ships beginning the moment that parts were available. Completion was quite some time away, but war was also some time away.

Many rousing cheers sprang from the orange seats of the Volksraad, filling the building with a cacophony of shouts, applause and slogans all directed towards the new president. A strong and hopefully capable leader who would be able to unite the Volksraad on crucial issues that were plaguing the state at the present time. They would need to assist in the restructuring and modernisation of military hardware - removing the outdated FN FAL from service being vitally important. They already had the new weaponry in production - having been sent out to several units for a trial run in 2053, so far it had done well - with double the stopping power and over 10 pounds lighter than its predecessor. The 'LAR - MK 1' rifle was rapidly proving itself in limited engagements with a minority of hardline African separatists.

Still... it could be improved.

The Second Chinese Republic

The Crash, the Sino-Asian War, the Second Chinese Civil War, the advent of the Golden Decade...all of these events had factored in to form the basis, the foundation for the modern Chinese Republic. Following the Three Principles of the People - democracy, nationalism, and the livelihood of the people - as well as the ideals and principles of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the founder of the First Chinese Republic, the Chinese people were able to overthrow the corrupt Communist leadership and install a democratic government in China, which thrives even today.

The formation of the Second Chinese Republic can be traced back to an event known simply as the Crash in China - the 2008 recession bgan a chain of events as the American dollar and economy collapsed. China, often relying on America as a market to sell their goods, was deeply affected, and their government realized that their days were numbered. Out of desperation more than anything else, and hoping to distract the population from China's internal troubles, the government staged a bombing in one of China's busiest airports, blaming it on terrorists funded from Taiwan. Supporting a separate DPRK invasion against South Korea, Taiwan was overrun over the course of two months, despite heavy Taiwanese resistance. The remnants of the Taiwanese military and civilians who were willing to take up arms formed the Taiwanese Resistance. With Taiwan pacified and incorporated into the Chinese mainland, the government turned their eyes towards Vietnam. Destroyers from Vietnam and China fought in a brief skirmish near the Spratly Islands, and in 2020 an invasion took place, conducted by hundreds of thousands of Chinese troops. Hoping to unite against Chinese aggression and prevent further expansion, most of Southeast Asia and Oceania rallied behind Vietnam. Failed Chinese offensives to take and hold the Vietnamese capital, Hanoi, resulted in a stalemate, with each side being exhausted and unable to pursue the war diligently due to their fragile economies. In 2022, over a dozen countries in Asia declared an embargo on China, cutting them off from imports and causing inflation rates to begin rising at rapid rates. The first signs of unrest began to show, and anti-war protests and demonstrations began in several major cities. With the tide of war turning against the Chinese, riots began in cities, and in some situations the police were not able to contain the situation, forcing the military to come in and diverting troops from the Front. Food shortages were common, and inflation rates continued to spiral out of control. The government responded to this by tightening restrictions and regulations, as well as stepping up censorship of newspapers, TV, the Internet, and virtually everything that people could get information on the war from.

With China losing the war, a movement called the China Freedom Movement formed, protesting the measures that the government had taken to prevent information and news from being seen by the people. They distributed illegal newspapers, pamphlets, posters advocating the downfall of the current government, and provided up-to-date news of Chinese military defeats at the hands of the enemy. They were also responsible for orchestrating the 2027 Hong Kong riots, where several parts of the city were heavily damaged and thousands of rioters fought with police and eventually the military for several months. A landing on Hainan occurred in 2028, and the people of Taiwan rose in revolt against the military occupation there. Fed up with the war and the government's increasing authoritarianism, rogue PLAN officers lead around 100 troops who were also fed up to storm government buildings in Beijing. The Premier and several other senior government officials managed to escape with their lives, but the rest were either imprisoned or executed. As they seized the capital, the PLAN officers declared the formation of the Second Chinese Republic in mid-2028. Surprisingly, they did not receive much support from the populace or the military until they were able to secure peace for China. With this, thousands of former PLA soldiers defected to the revolutionary side; by 2029, the remnant of the communists and the soldiers that remained loyal to them fled to either Western Chins or Manchuria. The rebels seized the rest of China, while a brief independent government was declared in Taiwan, known ad the Republic of Taiwan. The communists, supported by the Koreans, and the democratic revolutionaries, supported by China's former enemies, would soon find themselves locked in a 4-year struggle for control of the country. However, it was clear that the communists were on the losing side of the stick; communist-controlled Manchuria fell after the bloody battles of Shenyang and Changchun. The fight in the West was a lot more drawn out, and while the communists there were effectively crushed as a fighting force in 2032 (which also concluded the Second Chinese Civil War), an insurgency remained there which would last several more years.

Following the conclusion of the Second Chinese Civil War, the delegates of all of China's provinces convened in Beijing. Known as the First Democratic Assembly, the delegates were able to decide on a Constitution for the new fledging Republic. The Constitution was finally adopted on November 12, 2033. Li Chun, one of the main leaders of the Revolution, was elected the first Prime Minister of China. As the republic began to take shape, the first parties began to also form. The Communist Party was banned, and anti-communist sentiment was high. This lead to a chilling of relations with Korea, who had supported the communists in the Civil War. Li Chun's party, also known as the National Democratic Party of China, was the dominant party until 2041. It emphasized the importance of the unity of China in the Civil War, and also wanted to have Taiwan rejoin China as a special autonomous region. Talks between the Second Chinese Republic and the independent government in Taiwan, who was struggling to maintain control, began in 2034 and ended in 2036 when Taiwan finally rejoined China. As this happened, Li Chun started an ambitious program to rebuild China after the war and grow its economy. While parts of the Reconstruction Act were revoked on the grounds of it being unconstitutional, the Act proved to be the most part successful. It aimed to rebuild industry and areas that had been devastated by both wars, as well as encouraging foreign investment and helping to recover and grow the economy. While Li Chun was defeated in a 2041 election, he is still remembered very fondly in China and the effects of the Reconstruction Act are still felt even today. As China entered a new decade, it had already rapidly recovered from the war, and took the place of the second largest economy in Asia behind the Greater Korean Republic.

A string of Prime Ministers and Presidents in the 40s sought to modernize and improve China's military, which was, in all respects, a relic of old times. The government turned to the Second American Republic for the sole purpose of modernizing the military. China purchased a drone fleet and force from the Second Republic and made massive personnel cuts, bringing the military to around half a million men. This was all aimed to bring the Chinese military into the modern age, where warfare was smaller and more precise. With this, ties between both Republics were strengthened; relations with Korea were virtually frozen, and the Korean-Chinese border would become one of the most militarized borders in Asia, if not the world. However, the Chinese government was aware that its military lagged behind the 3 powers - the United States, Korea, and Germany - and sought to even out the playing field a little with Korea by coming up with contingency plans designed to give the defending/attacking (depending on which plan) Chinese soldiers an advantage. With the modernization of the military, reforms and changes were made to the structure, organization, and leadership of the National Revolutionary Armed Forces in the latter half of the decade to help fit the style of precise warfare better. As China and the world entered a new decade, people began to refer to China's massive recovery and continued economic growth as the Golden Decade. However, although China has recovered (for the most part) and continued to grow its economy at rapid rates, it still has not returned to its pre-Crash GDP, and it still continues to see a plethora of problems. In addition, the world's state of affairs has remained radically changed following the cluster of events that shook the world in the 20s and 30s.

It had endured two wars and the period of turmoil in the 20s and 30s, and it had came to be known as the center of Chinese democracy, the heart of the nation. The city had, in past years, flourished and prospered along with the rest of the nation. Now, Xinjing of the National Democratic Party of China, prepared to send a response back to the Greater Korean Republic regarding a meeting in Seoul, presumably to help thaw out relations between the two countries. China being a staunch American ally made the Prime Minister reluctant to agree to the leader of the GKR's request, but it was necessary if he wanted to demilitarise the border and continue China's economic growth.

Jamaica, oh beautiful motherland. For too long you have been under control of the invader and today you sons and daughters are preparing to fight in open combat against those that would rape and pillage you for resources. For years we have trained for the day that our bother and glorious leader of the revolution, General Marley would declare Jamaica an independent state separate economically, culturally and physically from the British empire. With the green in the hills we would rain down upon their soldiers and from the blue of our oceans we would rise up and sink their boats. But we would show mercy to the invader and allow them to stay under of benign rule till the end of their days.

The day was warm and the sun was shining down upon the conspirators who were walking to a safe house to send out the message to the world that Jamaica was now a republic. These men who in only a few hours would declare total independence from great Britain and establish a Jamaican republic, the seagulls overhead cried as if to mourn for those who were about to die or perhaps it was to bolster the confidence of the men. General Marley had been preparing his fen for years in secret almost once losing a shipment of several hundred AK .47's purchased from pirates. But god gave him luck and almost every measure he took he was successful, at least that was until in 2041 he was caught with a pistol while sneaking into the governor's mansion alongside two other revolutionaries and was immediately thrown into a British ran prison on the island. Although he himself did not succeed in the attempt to kill the governor one of his fellow comrades successfully threw a homemade explosive through a window causing serous brain damage in which he later died. General Marley met several allies in prison one of which is now his greatest friend and ally, The man I speak of is Tocombi and his brother Samson were radical Jamaican nationalists and the lead a group of 5,000 lightly ~~pirates~~ armed fisherman who acted as a militia to protect small villages.

At last dawn arrived and it was time to deliver his speech to the people of Jamaica. The way he was ale to do so was that his fiends and him had persuaded a nice gentleman in charge of Radio Jamaica to tie himself up and allow them to borrow his equipment and after a few minutes of messing around they were finally ale to turn on the machines and the general to deliver the speech of a lifetime.

"My brothers and sisters of Jamaica, I come to you as a brother who wishes to see our beautiful land free from the tyranny in which we have fallen captive to, I come to you as a man who is willing to die for a free socialist Jamaica. I however cannot do so alone and appeal to each and every one of you to join in the armed struggle that shall beak the iron shackles around our wrists, I am talking about a revolution that will make every man woman and child equal no matter his or her race or religion, This is the revolution that many of our loved ones have died at the hands of the British monster for. So sons and daughters of Jamaica RISE!!!"

For several hours armed troops of the JRP attacked members of the occupying British army and were ale to seize light weapons to further arm their fellow rebel allies, They succeeded in burning down the governor's mansion and defeating a British APC before being pushed back by the superiorly armed and trained soldiers. There are even some stories of British troops being defeated y machete wielding locals tired of foreign occupiers and foreign laws. To the east of the island several of Tocombi and Samson's men used mortars mounted on their boats to shell local British units and bases, the damages caused by these attacks however are unknown but suspected to be moderate. Only a few hundred casualties have been recorded on the Jamaican side although it is unknown how many casualties the British army has suffered.

British garrison, militia and soldiers in Jamaica were alerted of the attack just before the telegram was sent, and the attack was broadcasted on television. This gained public opinion against the attack and would hopefully rally more men to fight the soldiers in Jamaica. Although, it was clear that Jamaica would engage in forms of guerrilla warfare, similair to that of terrorist groups in the middle east. Although no plans have been formed, they are under progress. RAF airbases in Jamaica began to launch into the air, broadcasting overhead, and as British satellites took their position. Worst case scenario: Total of blockade of Jamaica, and utilizing fierce force of air power, and eventually starving them into surrender. Right now, as troops began to mobilize on the island, troops in the countryside and in British populations began to increase, police forces also moved into Jamaican-inhabited towns to prevent any large-scale protests.

Jamaica

Jamaica was in a state of war, British airplanes flew overhead most likely preparing to drop bombs on the innocent civilians and brave revolutionaries which had dared to rise up and try and overthrow the oppressive British presence. hundreds had already died and at least a thousand more were also expected to die before the end of the war. The new battle plan ordered by General Marley was to organize a division of suicide soldiers or men who would rather die than surrender. These men were to attack the heavily guarded military installations and deliver as much damage possible before they died. General Marley has become a national hero on the island with villagers donating food to the revolution even when their own needs were great. A large group of villagers armed with farming equipment have attacked British military patrols, Losses on the Jamaican side are expected to be slight since all attacks were carried out in lightning fast raids where the men and women involved in the attack would rush out on the patrol do damage then rush back into either the jungle or around the tight alleyways of the cities and towns.

The Jamaican Revolutionary Navy or RJN ran by Tocombi has begun small scale attacks on ports which have British naval members and ships, although the navy is made up mostly of trawlers with handmade mortars and cannons it has been a crucial part in the assault on British forces and forts and has been continuously pounding fortifications and installments and then speeding away when it seemed any military retaliation was approaching. The plan was to cut off their food and force them to go into the villages and towns for food which they would most likely attack by locals acting on their without any orders from military command.

It's war time!
The United Kingdom is now on the brink of war, with Jamaica declaring independence from Britain, the Jamaican Revolutionary War (or Jamaican War of Independence) had already to be described by historians as they planned the future textbooks for their grandchildren. George Hashburn, the British minister of foreign affairs, stood up in front of Parliament, rallying a crowd of people, similair to what the Jamaicans had done. It was also broadcasted live on television and on radio.

"The English, the Scottish, the Irish and more. Together we are brought by union, regardless of cultural or nationalistic differences which plague humanity, no'r about the monarchy, we are rallied together to retaliate against the treasonous force who have violated their previous agreements. After Jamaica's attack on our men, they claim the rights to their independence without any British or global permission for that matter. Thus, we recognize has a rebellious terrorist group, not a nation. The war wasn't as popular in Scotland, and even less in Ireland. Yet there was always someone willing to fight. The government and the media showcased the attacks as terrorist attacks, and the generals in command of the Jamaican armies as treasonous. Although rallying would do matter, the war had already begun. Convoys began to flow into Jamaica to supply the troops, and air activity greatly increased. Armies mobilized within the Caribbean (and other territories to an extent), drafts had not begun, as it wasn't seen as necessary.

British troop numbers in overseas territories were often limited and incredibly small, as of 2055. British soldiers have gone through technological change. However, only the most highly scientifically advanced troops are in Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales. Overseas territories have more outdated troops, yet they're still advanced when compared to modern troops of 2015. Due to the British army's size, the British army did not have massive armor like the America did, rather it favored for stealth, and making it easy identify someone and kill them.

OPERATION: HIGHLANDS (TOP SECRET)

BLUE: Divisions within Jamaica currently.

The operation has was executed today, and the divisions are beginning to to board the transport fleet. Once all 3 naval squadrons arrive, the Cornwall Squadron and the Lothain Squadron will blockade Port Antonio, and then slowly begin to cut off the rest of the island. Eventually, Jamaica will be under a full blockade. Patrol craft will dispatch from the main Squadron, and will constantly patrol non-port areas. This will cut off Jamaican supplies from external sources, and although money can transfer digitally, resources cannot.

The airforce was to take a big place in this war, the RAF units stationed in Jamaica would first prioritize taking out the most if not all of the Jamaican navy before the Royal Navy arrived. While simultaneously bombing important Jamaican food and industrial zones. The pilots would try to avoid civilians, yet it was impossible to avoid any civilian casualties in a war. The airforce would also provide support for land and naval movements, the airbases would be the most important sources of the war. If the airbase managed to fall in Jamaican hands, the planes would evacuate to Bermuda, the closest site. Bermuda's patrol and gunboat numbers would increase during this operation for security. If more planes were needed, Bermuda would be used as a launch pad against Jamaica.

Once the the Wessex Transport Squadron arrived, with 3 other warships to defend it against hostility, it would commence the invasion of Jamaica at St Ann's Bay, with massive air support to secure the landing sites, and would soon establish. beachheads. The transport fleet would then move around the coast of Jamaica cautiously, and launch an invasion at Port Kaiser. Airpower would also be involved, and the HMS Palm (Destroyer) would shell the shore if necessary.

The lines signal the frontlines of each successful British offensive, the most important one to secure was the Light blue line, which would allow for supplies and seizing important Jamaican ports. The Blue line would push them back further, and the other lines signal the ways of advance. If Kingston did not fall within 2 months, plan B would be signaled (not planned yet.)

Any land vehicles would be important in destroying Jamaican structure, if the war could not be won, Jamaica would starve or surrender. As for the Blue divisions within Jamaica currently, they were to be on full alert. With supplies coming in, the airforce would secure the convoys until the navy arrived. And patrol Jamaican skies, launching mass bombings on selected targets. Eventually, invading soldiers would come in as backup.

A RAF plane took off from Jamaican ground early in the morning, General Murkthur, the head general of Operation Highlands, gave the specific command order; "Destroy any crude Jamaican naval vessels. They may be crude and laughable, yet they still pose a risk to our supply lines if the conditions are not met.". The orders were taken, the pilot looking down below saw the beautiful Jamaican landscape, by the time he reached the Jamaican shore, it was hard to spot any Revolutionary Naval vessels, especially to tell them apart from civilian. The plane flew overhead the skies for half an hour searching, then one was found. "Bombs away."

Instantly, the explosion shattered the hull of the ship and was engulfed with flames, it was expected most crewmembers died from the blast or were severely injured, the boat rapidly caught fire, and without a large proportion of the ship, it slowly eroded and eventually sank after 2 hours. The RAF left, calling it a success. And as other RAF airplanes begin to bomb the navy and important sites for the survival of the nation, the first British strike of the war had begun in the air.

The First Republic of America is forming relations with other countries in America, countries, such as the California Republic. They are also furthering relations with Australia and Mexico. Troops were training in the Military Academies across the country, and some are undergoing the intense training to become a Space Trooper, in the USSF. Although there are 1,000 USSF Soldiers, only few are deployed in space. About 300 remain on Earth, either off duty, on shore leave, or awaiting transport to the USSFS (United States Space Force Station). Although unconfirmed, there are rumors of a new station being constructed and outfitted to expand the USSF.

In the Lee Marine academy, the troops are training on how to become a great marine. The class of 2055 can be heard singing the Marine's Hymn from kilometers away.

The navy is gathering it's navy for a naval exercise in the pacific. The United States Navy First Fleet, composing of one aircraft carrier, 7 Battleships, 3 Corvettes, and 3 Frigates with a dozen patrol boats will conduct multiple exercises, such as a defensive exersise (With coast guard too), An offensive operation (Including marines) and a DEFCON 4 Situation exersise (Preparing for a nuclear war, along with the USAF). The First Fleet (14 Ships) is rallying at Pearl Harbor. The exercises are named Hellfire 55.

The Greater Korean Republic

Three Korean People's Navy fleets shipped off from the Philippines with a very specific mission. They were heading northeast, their objective was Hawaii. After months of planning, the Greater Korean Republic was launching a major attack on the United States of America, sending a message that it wouldn't allow the Second American Republic to intimidate it.

The fleets were to land at three different islands in the chain of Hawaiian islands. The 14th Korean fleet was to land at the Big Island; Hawai'i itself. The 1st Korean fleet was to land at Kaua'i isle, and the 22nd Korean fleet was to land at the Maui isle. Before they reached the beach however, the Korean People's Air Force would launch from the carriers and perform an air raid on their fleet's designated isle, weakening and confusing the country's defenses. While the scramble to get defenses up and running, the fleet destroyers would would fire cruise missiles into key targets on the isles before landing ground troops into the islands.

Once on the ground, troops would open fire on any able-bodied person who didn't surrender theirselves to the Greater Korean Republic and Supreme Leader Kim Jong-su. Destroying key resource plants with the air raids and naval attacks from earlier, while splitting the defenses on the islands, the Korean People's Army aimed to disorganized and confuse the island nation's defenses before they had a chance to launch a counterattack on the Koreans.

As the fleets neared their targets, the captain of the 1st Fleet radioed to KOCOM, "Requesting permission to launch Operation Impact."

"Permission granted." Came in over the radio. With it, the Korean People's Air Force took off, war with the United States, or the First American Republic as they call theirselves now, was now a certainty.

Taiwanese nationalism is on the rise, as the Chinese government was well aware, and in a recent poll conducted in 2054, some 55% of all respondents wanted to make Taiwan independent from China. The Taiwanese Progressive Party, successor to the Democratic Progressive Party, possesses a majority in both houses of the Taiwanese legislature and continues to advocate for Taiwanese independence from China. However, the TPP's opposition, despite being weakened, is still very vocal - Taiwan was briefly independent as the State of Taiwan, but the entire country was weakened after nearly 8 years of occupation by Chinese forces and the rebellions that had finally managed to overthrow the military government there. Struggling to gain footing, the new country's economy was weak, and dozens of issues and problems plagued the country. In 2036 negotiations began regarding the re-unification of China and Taiwan, and in 2037 the Chinese parliament passed the China-Taiwan Reunification Act, abolishing the government and officially integrating Taiwan into China as an autonomous region. Since then, the region has largely recovered from the war and Chinese occupation, but a growing number of people support Taiwanese independence. The Chinese government in regards to the situation in this region, has expressed the need to resolve the matter peacefully and through a referendum. However, no official, legal, Chinese-sanctioned referendum has been held yet, and protests have begun in several of Taiwan's major cities, pushing for a referendum to decide whether Taiwan should be independent or no. None of them have resulted or culminated into violence yet, but police are still present at the protests to ensure that the protests are peaceful and do not disturb the normal day-to-day activities and work of the public.

A government official had just informed him of the Korean declaration of the war on the First American Republic; they had already made movements on Hawaii, and the country was probably already fighting the Korean invaders as they spoke. Frowning, he was uncertain what China's position on the conflict should be; of course, he was hardly happy, since this seemed like a chance for Korea to gain valuable military experience and spread their influence in Asia, but on the other hand, the Prime Minister hadn't anticipated this and the military wasn't prepared. Frowning, he dismissed the official, before contemplating on what China should do - after a brief period of thinking, he knew the obvious thing to do was to contact China's major ally, the Second American Republic, as well as the FAR. Cooperation was necessary if they wanted to be able to repel the Korean invaders and deal a blow to their prestige and respect.

While I understand that relations between the First and Second American Republics may not be the best, it is imperative that we cooperate against our common enemy: Korea. Should they be defeated in their invasion, it could be a serious blow to Korean prestige and reputation, potentially causing unrest and even open revolt in Japan, the Philippines, and South Korea. In addition, it gives us a chance to limit their influence as well as even cripple their military, if we play our cards correctly. China will agree to give support to the FAR against the Koreans, in the form of supplies, food, and even weapons, although we will not be intervening militarily in the conflict yet. I hope to coordinate a possible strategy between the three of us, in order to knock Korea out of the war and install a new government beneficial to the overall security of the Asia-Pacific region and more friendly to our governments.

04:00 Naval Defence center.

The seaman was going over the most recent satellite images when he came across the Philippines images. Three Korian fleets were heading out. He picked up the phone, and soon his CO arrived and reviewed the images. Then long distance Radar picked up the fleets. "Wake the military." The CO reported the incoming fleet, and the island was placed on DEFCON 3.

The Hellfire 55 exersizes were a blessing. The 1st Fleet was already armed for bear. The 2nd American Fleet was either not participating in the exercises or in dry dock. The USS Aria, the 2nd Fleet Flagship was just finishing repairs in dry dock and launched when the country hit DEFCON 3. Advanced costal guns and cruise missiles were prepared to retaliate.

Soon a declaration of was was declared when the Korian fleets, identified as 14th, 1st, and 22nd, were near the country. General McMillian of the Marines read what their grounds on declareing war and chuckled. It was nothing but bullshit. Soon a declaration of war was made on Korea.

Jamaica

Although moral is still moderately high the men are starting to question how long the conflict shall continue until either the British government surrenders control of the island of Jamaica or General Marley surrenders. The news of the sinking of SS Rastafarian, one crew member has been rescued all others are assumed to be dead. General Marley himself lost a son in the sinking of the SS Rastafarian and has issued the following statement to the world: "The oppressive foreign presence of the British in northern Ireland must cease and all though they may sink our navy and shoot our air force to the ground we shall rise up again and again like the sugarcane in the spring, and I promise each and every one of you that we shall avenge our sons and daughters that wee slaughtered, I swear it..."

The first order of business was to begin the onslaught of the air force which was made up of two types of planes, Suicide bombers and Bombers. The Suicide bombers were just cheap single person pleasure planes filled with home made bombs and shrapnel most of the time driven by a highly wounded Jamaican revolutionary, The bombers are planes that used to be used for parachuting off but have been fitted with home made barrel bombs as seen by Assad forces in the long ago time of 2016. In the early hours of the morning 5 suicide bombers flew off from their small runways and began their track to attack the British navy doing as much damage to the ships and crew members as possible before they martyr themselves for the cause of Jamaican freedom. It had taken them half an hour before the small planes hurled themselves at a pair of British ships causing one to sink and the other which was only hit by one bomber to survive with unknown damage caused to it.
Farther down near port Antonio seven Bombers pounded away at the British positions and vessels for a mere hour and a half before 100 official JRA members stormed the city of part Antonio, the Troops were met with up to 70 militia members armed mostly with old hunting rifles and machetes.

The shores of Maui, Hawai'i, and Kaui'i. Regularly all are popular tourist destinations, today however, they were to become a war zone. The Korean People's Air Force flew over head, low and swift. The inhabitants of the islands watched as they thought it was their government just performing aerial exercises in accordance with the naval ones going on. Going about their business, the 15 (five for each of the targeted isles) KPiGs launched they're attack.

Targeting whatever, they could before the air defenses could be established by the Americans. they acted with quickness and delicacy as time was on their side. At DEFCON 3, the U.S would have their air defenses deployed in less than 15 minutes, giving the KPAF plenty of time to work with to create havoc and confusion among the populace.. Large neighborhood and civilian areas, including the beaches, were fired at. With no regard for the innocent lives they were ending, the KPAF forces turned back towards their respective naval fleets as the U.S got their air defenses up and engaged the KPAF.

After a short time after the air assault had ceased and retreated, the KPN unleashed a swarm of cruise missiles to shell the beaches and military bases of the First American Republic. Round after round, missile after missile, the KPN solely needed to weaken ground defenses so that the troops could land on the beaches with relative ease. After some odd 45 minutes or so, the missile barrage ended. With transport planes taking off from the ships, they would drop KPAGF troops down behind enemy lines. To accompany the paratroopers, the naval transports headed for the beaches, being covered by the fleet staying behind.

THE UNITED KINGDOM OF GREAT BRITAIN AND IRELAND

British soldiers deployed in Wales, finishing their training and being equipped with arms and knowledge of their specific goals layed out by the generals above the ranks. The naval fleet began to assemble around the port, organizing their specific tasks. In the mean-time, the soldiers would train all they could. It was expected they'd begin their journey to Jamaica around 8:00PM. However, several generals criticized Operation: Highlands for the soldier's long route to Kingston, Jamaica's capital. If Kingston were to fall to British occupation it would rapidly turn the ties of the war, and would be used as a base of operations in land, air, and the navy. It would also cripple Jamaican supplies in areas of east of the city. As such, a new operation was formed specifically designed to take out the city. It would work co-cooperatively with the men in Operation: Highlands, and would merge with it if completed.

The two naval squadrons would embark to Jamaica shortly after those of Operation: Highlands, and would have Isles Division and Normandy Division invade at Morant Bay. After beachheads and supplies were established, they would begin to march towards Jamaica, taking critical assets in the process, and gathering information. The invasion would be assisted by coastal bombardment and air support, as would the march and assault on Kingston.

Channel division would then launch an invasion at Portmore, once again supported by the navy and air. All 3 divisions would work together and with the Red Divisions. Portmore was a short route to Kingston, and thus, would be used as a flanking route to surround Kingston with all three divisions. Tanks, artillery, and AFV's would be used to transport the troops faster, and lay seige on the city, and gain more assistance in battles.

Once the invasion was finished, HMS Burgundy, Silicon, Marble and Leaves would dispatch from the British 2nd Transport Squadron, the remainder of the fleet would dock in Bermuda, Gibraltar, or Cornwall, depending on the odds. If the fleet were to return, they would be supported by the other proportion of the fleet again. Otherwise, the warship fleet not comprised of transports would establish a blockade of Jamaica in the south. Fully blockading the island. The British Jamaican Patrol Fleet's role is self-explanatory; to patrol waters and assist convoys.

Papers came in the morning, giving the RAF four specific objectives:

Support naval and land movements
Destroy any Jamaican naval vessels on sight.
Destroy other Jamaican planes and their airbases if needed.
Bomb industrial and agricultural zones.

On 11:52 AM, two newest model RAF bombers flew over the Jamaican skies. Several hours passed, no naval vessels were sighted, naval and land operations hadn't started yet, and no Jamaican airbases were found in the areas around St.Ann's bay. The two bombers flew further inland, the clouds began to decay away at that point. I lush field of farms was spotted. One of the pilots felt guilt to the poor men and women living there, and didn't want to pull the trigger. But in a quick recall, he remembered, this is war. The difference between soldier and civilian blurr, your objective is to force General Marley into a state of shock of surrender. 5 minutes later, bombs away.

It was unknown whether any men or women actually died in the bombings of the farms, yet it all agricultural zones in the area were in flames and destroyed. The planes flew back to base for fuel, and would launch again several hours later to attack one or more of the 4 targets again, if a market was spotted, it would be on the first priority.

2 newest-model RAF fighter planes also launched from base, scouting around the nation, looking for any Jamaican airplanes, and gathering information about the landscape. The model head out to sea, and to an area lush with trade and supply ships. After searching for 45 minutes, one Jamaican plane was spotted. It was hard to identify with the sun and ships and whatnot, although it was recognized that it would pose a threat to British convoys. A RAF fighter plane flew around the supposed Jamaican bomber for 2 minutes, once a safe distance was achieved, and the target was identified clearly. The guns and and missiles began to fire. The fighter flew around the plane, much of the bullets missed, yet some rammed into the wings. But once the missile was fired, it was strait to the target.

Kaboom.

Men and women panicked below seeing an explosion in the sky, the RAF fighter jet head back to base, informing about the attack. It was unknown how much bombers there were, yet air power was needed until the the land units arrived. The other fighter, being informed about the attack, looked around for any airfields, yet none were found today.

As the warfare flourished in Jamaica, bombers bombing and troops fighting. The soldiers in Wales finally began to walk aboard the transport fleet along with their vehicles. After a final review of plans and several military songs, they began to head out. Those in Operation: Queensway, would go at 8:00 AM the next day.

200 kilometers from the coast of Wales now, the fleet would be on full alert for any attacks until arrival to the Jamaican shore. As for the troops currently in Jamaica, they will continue to fight.

(Note about non-Jamaica related: I'll write more about the naval buildup and others next post in The Times, all you need to know is that I'm building A LOT of naval vessels and a super carrier in the making, as noticed earlier I intend to replace Korea as the world's greatest naval power. But that'll take some time

The Prime Minister had assembled China's top military generals, commanders, and even the Minister of National Defense in a meeting to discuss the recent war; of course, they had several contingency plans in place for a Korean invasion or a pre-emptive strike on the GKR, but the war against the First American Republic had changed things, especially what position should China take on the conflict. Despite their offer of aid to the FAR, he knew that if their ally, the Second American Republic, refused to help them, China would be obliged not to intervene in the conflict as well. Among those present, was Prime Minister Hu Xinjing, President Han Jin (the official commander-in-chief of the military), General Zhu Ling (commander-in-chief of the Army), Commander-General Lin Zongren (commander-in-chief of the Air Force), Fleet Admiral Shen Li (commander-in-chief of the Navy), and the Minister of National Defense Lee Ming. Smiling, Hu greeted them as they came into the door one by one; after he had assembled them all, he prepared to start the meeting.

"As you may all know...recently the Greater Korean Republic has declared war on the First American Republic and invaded the country, on very shaky reasons. I have extended an offer of aid to the First American Republic and a request for cooperation and assistance against Korea with our ally, the SAR. However, should the SAR choose to attack Korean forces in the FAR, it is imperative that the Chinese military be prepared for launching Operation Windgale." Windgale was the name of a contingency plan involving a pre-emptive strike on Korea with land, aerial, and naval elements of the Chinese military, to catch the Koreans off-guard and hopefully force them to divert attention and troops from other fronts, all while suffering minimal loss of life. China had invested and spent time into making their soldiers skilled and professional, meaning that casualty rates were much lower than they used to be, but it also meant that the more men they lost, the more they would be at a disadvantage. The Prime Minister knew that in a conventional, all-out fight with the GKR's military, China would inevitably lose. However, this was why Hu never intended any of the military to fight the Koreans head-on without direct American military assistance, but rather, harass them while retreating. The Prime Minister continued, "Mr. Ling, since the army will play an important role in the contingency plan, should it ever be put into effect, can you explain to me how prepared the army is currently?"

"Of course, sir." He saluted, before turning to the rest of the group, "The Army is, unfortunately, not prepared for such an operation, and all we have is the forces along the border of the GKR, which, I'm afraid to say, are not sufficient enough to conduct the operation. I'm currently in the process of calling up reservists and bringing up more forces to Manchuria, but I would rather wait for the SAR's response to the message before we take any action." Ling said. The Prime Minister nodded, "That's understandable." Turning to Commander-General Zongren, the PM said, "Commander-General Zongren; the air force will also be important in any contingency plan we create. If we choose to launch Windgale, will the required aircraft and drones be ready to launch airstrikes and attack enemy defenses and troops?"

"To know if they would be able to do their mission successfully, I would need intelligence of Korea's anti-air and air-defense capabilities, which we are lacking in. However, I can say for certain that our drone force is ready, and positioned to attack the GKR." The Commander-General replied. "Excellent," Hu said, "Fleet Admiral Shen Li, since the Navy may play an important part in delaying the GKR Navy or evacuating troops, supplies, and vehicles, may I ask if the Navy is currently prepared to play a mainly support role in our contingency plans?"

Li frowned a bit, "Well, as you already know, the Navy is far weaker than the Korean Navy, although it is fairly modern and a decent force all of its own. However, I can confirm that the Navy is prepared to play a role in the contingency operations, although the Korean Navy will have naval dominance over the seas, and certainly be a nuisance to any of our operations." The Prime Minister simply replied with a, "That is to be expected. Well, now we know about the overall preparedness of our military and its individual branches, I would like an opinion from each of you about what we should do- as all of you know, we have not yet received a response from the SAR, which is important if we are to go to war with Korea - or remain neutral in the conflict." The President was the first to speak up, "I say we should wait until a SAR response is received before we start taking any action." He insisted, "without our American ally in the war, we should not make any rash decisions. Besides, it seems that Korea is willing to improve relations with us, as shown by their recent message to the Prime Minister - if Korea attacks us, they have America to answer to, and the threat of a Korean invasion is low."

"With all due respect, sir, the Koreans just violated a nation - the First American Republic's - sovereignty and invaded the nation without any warning. They are growing more imperialist and expansionist, and as Korea's neighbor, we should prepare for an invasion and continue mobilizing our military." The Commander-in-Chief of the Army stated. The Fleet Admiral and Minister of National Defense voiced their agreement for Ling, while the Commander-General backed the President. The argument went back and forth for several minutes before a compromise could be reached - it was decided on that China would wait for an American response before actual military action would be made, but they would still perform efforts to prepare the military, like calling reservists up to active duty and shifting around troops. The meeting would continue on for 2 hours as the group, consisting of top military generals, commanders, and government officials, discussed important matters of relevance to the operation. Finally, as the meeting was concluded, the Prime Minister retreated back to his office at his residence. A response had been sent by the FAR to China's message, and the PM read it, before sending a message back:

While these terms seem agreeable, the formation of a military pact between the 3 of our nations would certainly mean war with Korea, a choice that we may not be willing to take. However, before I will make a final decision for China on the matter, I would like to hear the input of Mr. Edwards of the Second American Republic.
