Forgotten Quarantine: A Character RP

With the railways, comes people. With people, comes commerce. With commerce, comes crime.

In 1871, Donnerville was established in southwestern Nebraska. The people had moved in, after the veins of railroads crossed in that one, isolated region. They soon grew into a bustling community, far away from other towns. The people have always been and always will be blue collar at heart. The people there are either rail workers, farmers, or something related to either of those two industries. During the prohibition era, this community was plagued by the Irish and Italian mafias, being in the heart of America's Midwestern rail system. Despite this, the people lived good, fulfilling lives.

In 1953, the town remained very similar to as it had been before. The same jobs were there, the same families, and the people were still happy. Crime was under control, due to a good sized, well funded police force. The military had noticed this town's idyllic isolation; and the Army had established a secretive medical research facility on the town's outskirts. Things seemed perfect, until one fateful October day...dun dun dun.

When the West Wing of the Army lab blew up, everyone was shocked. The people know very little about what happened. Only, the Army is to blame, and now they can't leave. What really happened, was the release of a super-disease into the air. The townsfolk all became healthy carriers. The disease is only known as The Virus. Soon after the tragic explosion, the Army blocked all roads to the town. They shot all those that tried to escape. The people were scared. Why was this happening? Then the wall was built. A 50 foot high, 5 foot thick, impregnable wall, with no way in, and no way out, with guards patrolling the outside, and electric razor wire on the top. It encompassed the center of town, the surrounding fields, and what was left of the Lab. The Army erased all knowledge of this town and it's citizens. Making them all, "disappear". A forgotten Quarantine.

Soon into the quarantine, the people rioted. After attempting to control food distribution from the town's stores and the Army's monthly supply drops, the police gave up. The town plunged into anarchy, with neighbor killing neighbor all for a bit extra food. After a few weeks of this senseless conflict, the Police took control of the Town center and farm fields. A shaky alliance between petty criminals and the Irish and Italian mafias known as the Syndicate took control of poorer areas and railyards. These two groups seem to be locked in a perpetual struggle for control of the town, with the common person thrown into the middle.

Now its New Year's Day, 1954. The town is relatively normal by day, with neighbor helping neighbor to survive the bitter winter. Apart from thievery and mild conflict within the Syndicate, things are alright, aside from rumbling stomachs. But by night, all hell breaks lose. Fighting, murder, rape, and all sorts of atrocities occur. Fed up with this, many common folk began banding together, in a group called Workers United. They are growing daily, but not much is known about them. Their goals are to reinstate order and turn the town into a worker's collective. The town's government and Police want to reinstate order. The Syndicate wants to exploit the situation, and rule the town. The last remaining scientists, and a few MPs remain holed up in their lab. No one knows where they stand, only that the entire town hates them for their actions, putting the blame squarely on their shoulders.

So, where will you fall? Are you a common person, wanting to provide for their family? A police officer, trying to reinstate order? Or maybe an investigative reporter searching for answers? The choice is yours!

Brief Bio: John is related to Irish immigrants, his family came here in 1916 after Easter Rising happened, they had no choice but to stay because of their low amount of money, though in his young life he had a good time, he owned a dog named Scruffy which tragically died in his 20's. He then decided to become a boxer, so he learned how to do so, he was on a winning streak he won 15 games in a row, he never loss, but before he could continue with his career the outbreak happened, then chaos began, and because of this bad crime went on a rise, so one fight he was fighting and his opponent cheated and tried to stab him, so he knocked out the man and went to the police department and joined as a police officer, and now he plans on restoring peace to his home so he can continue is favorite career and maybe even become a world champion.

Brief Bio: Jacki was born to English and Welsh immigrants by the name of Ryder Dominic Ellison (Father) and Arline Harrison Ellison (Mother) on July 19th of 1920. Her father had served in WW1 for the British Military and in WW2 for the US Army. On June 6, 1944, Ryder had died during D-Day. She had taken courses at Agnes Scott for Home Economics and got an M.A. She became one of the best bakers in town before "The Virus" hit. The mayor was killed during a fight, and by vote, Jacki became mayor. She presides over Donnerville with a fair and open hand.

When he was 18 he began working in the train yard to help raise money for his family. He had a rather stable job until he was drafted in 1942. He served as a tank commander in the 741st tank division for two years. In the Battle of the Bulge his tank was destroyed by a German Tiger tank were he nearly lost his leg. HE came home to his parents in a massive pile of debt. In a desperate attempt to clear the debt he attempted to rob a bank with a few members of the Irish mafia they successfully rob the bank however there getaway driver had not shown up and they were arrested. Once the wall went up and the police were distracted by the chaos of the town and he and the other inmates broke out of jail and made off with a good bit of the polices guns and ammo.

There Antonio learned the ways of the Mafia and quickly became involved in organized crime. Donnerville, an isolated town quickly became the family's headquarters. There he quickly got into an affair with an actress, Maria Sarreta and had an illegitimate child, Carlo, whom he cared about.
Due to his uncle's influence, he managed to not be recruited to fight in World War II, but he had to secure shipments coming in and out of the country, as well as take care of some unwanted individuals by the United States.
Vito Catalano was the boss of the Catalano crime family for 23 years until the incident with the army. The city now was completely isolated and the police began taking over areas of the city. Vito was shot and killed by a police officer and Tony was the new head of the family. They were one of the first families to take part in the Syndicate and Tony soon found new ways to make cash and resources from the areas the Syndicate is occupying.

Though a year before the Quarantine a Bank Robbery happened in the City, the bank employees told the local police department the man went by the aliases "Aerson Terry Paz" though no police database confirmed such an identification, he has killed over 40 people in the past two decades and has never been officially caught, though encounters with the local police departments were made frequently, often in him wounding and or killing an officer of the law and escaping.

He has proven to be a sociopathic serial killer with many personality traits and personal skills, he goes under several aliases in the police department such as the "Madman" and "The Crimson prince" due to the fact he was often said to be wearing crimson brown suits.

So, I have many ideas about other characters I can make but one that seems most fitting is an important member of the Workers United. Another is a member of the Italian Mafia or a bank thief , not a boss,though.
