In the beginning, there were only the gods, the Azerii: unfathomably powerful and immeasurably knowledgeable beings. It is unclear where they came from, how they gained such power, or even if there was anything before them. All we know is that, in the beginning, there were only the gods.
But the gods were not content with their simple existence. One of these Azerii, Marandul, created our world, Vamoros, and He placed us, the Humans, upon it, along with our world's nature. Marandul became the God of Creation. We were hailed as the Firstborn of Vamoros, the original Children of the Gods. We graced this world and built our civilisations, different Duchies and Dominions of Human nations appearing across our emerald isle. Here we flourished, in peace, for many years.
It was not long before the other Azerii gazed upon Marandulir's creations, and became jealous of the people and world that He had created. The other Azerii followed suit, creating their own races in different regions of the world: some lived in snow, others in forests, even in harsh desert - Vamoros was full of living creatures. Our races were kept apart by the power of the Azerii. Some were more warlike than others, thriving in bloodshed and combat with one another, others found peace with each other, working in harmony - much like we did, child. However they lived, each race was kept apart, and kept to themselves. No-one thought to explore, thanks to the power of the Azerii. This was all the gods did, they did little else with their creations, content to watch from above as their races thrived. For two centuries, we thrived.
And as time passed, the power and presence of the Azerii began to fade. No-one knows why they faded, or if they simply left us, but the gods are gone now.
The races of Vamoros were now left unguided. For three centuries, an age of bloodshed came upon us, and our world. Within races, factions vied for power through conquest and dominion. Eventually, after many centuries of war, the races finally began to learn of one another - explorers returned to their homeland with talk of those with green skin, or pointed ears. Races that had not united through conquest now began to band together for a common interest. Now our nations have begun to expand, to explore this vast world that we inhabit. It falls to you, child. It falls to you and your generation to shape Vamoros for many years to come.
For the Age of the Gods is over. The Age of Mortals has begun.
So, as you might have guessed, this is a fantasy RP - a reboot of the first Age of Mortals, with a new map. We're going to be focusing on the expansion of the nations of these races created by the Azerii. This will be RPed through the perspective of notable and important characters within your nation. Have a mosey on through these rules, and make us an app if you're interested!
I. There is no god but OP (Kherkov), and co-OP (Britcan) is his prophet. But seriously. Do what we say. Our word is final.
II. No godmodding. I know this is about gods. But really. Don't do that.
III. The more powerful your beings, the fewer of them there are. Same goes for magic.
IV. No petty arguments, if you have an issue bring it to your god (see rule I).
V. OOC in the OOC thread. It's quite simple.
VI. Good grammerz and englash plz (seriously, let's have a nice standard of grammar and English in the IC).
VII. No one-liners in the IC.
VIII. Try to post at least once every three days. If you are going to be away for an extended period of time, notify the OP.
IX. Have fun, hurrdurrdurr. Look at me including this as a rule, I'm so hilarious and original.

Points of Interest
On the interactive map, we can place points of interest. These include:
- The capital city/settlement of your nation
- Any major cities in your nation
- Any notable towns in your nation
- Forts - heavily fortified defensive locations with defensive weaponry like trebuchets and catapults, coastal forts also have the ability to dock fleets
- Ports - settlements that are more or less just ports, or military harbours
- Holy sites
- Military bases
- Colonies - rudimentary settlements your nation is setting up - land around colonies is not claimed until the colony becomes a more established settlement (see rules on colonies).
Colonies
When establishing a colony, you simply get a marker on the map where you are building a new settlement. You cannot claim land around it until it becomes a more established settlement. Colonies progress like this over time:
On the Coast Colony > Port > Town > City (last step takes a very long time)
Inland Colony > Colony > Town (Progresses to town slower than those on the coast, which become ports first) > City (again takes ages)
What definitely happened?
While every race has their perception of the gods, one thing that is indeed true is that Marandul was the Azerii to create Vamoros, and he created the Humans first, which is why the Humans speak a language very close to the Language of the Gods. He named the continents Duria and Ilara, but it was different races living in specific regions that gave specific place names like "Norand". Other gods bestowed particular terrain upon particular areas, as well: the original Vamoros created by Marandul was a chaparral world. Other gods created the temperate forests, the icy north, etc.
Application
DO NOT post applications here. Post in the update thread. The more effort you put into your app and the better presented it is, the more likely you'll be accepted!

A note on language: Each race originally spoke the Language of the Gods, however now individual languages have evolved. Despite this, at least some of the people in each race are still able to speak it. Think of it as Latin.
