Current Rules (subject to change):
1. All Nationstate's Rules apply.
2. No Metagaming, Godmodding, or being an asshole. We are here for fun, don't ruin it.
3. Consider travel times and your army's ability to maneuver. No one post jumps to capitals or the like. Sneak attacks can happen, but are nearly impossible.
4. Consider logistics and the layout of your city. Putting armies in the field costs money, you need to feed/pay/arm the troops. Its an undertaking which should not be done on a whim.
5. These are bannermen armies, in other words armies that are mobilized and formed from your general populace. You will only have a fraction of your forces active in peacetime. (Various garrisons/Household Guard forces etc.)
6. Watch out what you do or don't do to your King/Leige Lord. If you ignore them or move against them, they have every right to march to your city and destroy you.
7. This is Game of Thrones, people will be killed. Don't take it personally. However, you most definitely can not just kill a player's character by poison or ambush if they are not aware you are going to do it. (Example: You cannot say that when the King of the North takes a drink of wine, he dies all Joffrey style. No cool bro.)
8. OOC is completely different from the IC, so don't get sucked into the habit of defending your characters or their actions in the OOC.
9. YOU are in control of your characters and their moves don't have to make sense. "Keep your enemies confused on what you will do next. Never be predictable"
10. This is mostly a character RP not a Faction RP. You can control soldiers, but you should focus on your character motivations and such.
Date: 278 AC; one year after the death of King Aerys II Targaryen at the hands of Lord Darklyn in Duskendale...
During the Defiance of Duskendale, King Aerys was captured by Lord Denys Darklyn of Duskendale. Lord Hand Tywin Lannister had arrived with a large host of men to capture the town and free the King, but was stopped when Lord Darklyn threatened to kill the King if Tywin attempted to attack. For six months, King Aerys was left in the dungeons of Duskendale... And for another six months he would remain there, until Lord Tywin finally decided to risk the King's death and attacked. The town was asleep when the attack began... The catapults began firing stones into the walls and a battering ram attempted to bring down the gate. When the gate finally fell and the Targaryen host stormed the town, it was too late for the King... When Ser Barristan arrived in the dungeons to free the King, he saw the King laying in a pool of his own blood. His throat slit and dead. Lord Darklyn stood over him, still holding the knife... Ser Barristan took the knife from him and escorted him out of the town to be judged... The Mad King was dead...
Crown Prince Rhaegar was with Lord Tywin outside the city when they brought Lord Darklyn into their tent... At that moment, Rhaegar knew. While he was saddened by the events, he knew, deep down inside, that with his father's death can come peace and prosperity throughout the Seven Kingdoms. What was spoken in that tent is not known by anyone outside of Tywin, Rhaegar, and Barristan, but we do know the aftermath... Lord Darklyn was marched outside the tent and executed by Rhaegar himself. As the Northern Lords say, "The man that passes the sentence should swing the sword"... After this, Rhaegar and his host departed Duskendale for King's Landing leaving House Darklyn alive and well in Duskendale...
The return to King's Landing was a sullen one. The towns people were not cheering at the return of their Prince, victorious at putting down the rebellion, it was quiet. Rhaegar and the Kingsguard made their way to the Red Keep, where Rhaegar sat on the Iron Throne. He was to be crowned the next day as Rhaegar of the House Targaryen, the First of His Name, King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm; but right now, he was sad. His father had died, while not a good man, Aerys had done his best to protect his family... Rhaegar didn't sit too long however. His rule started now, and he was going to rule better than his father...
