Then you're safe, because nobody has called it anime yet.

Even if it *is* a french animated show with the 2D world drawn in an anime-esque style.

Ooo, you're playing with me there...

I've only ever watched Oggy and the Cockroaches though. French Tom and Jerry seemed to have done something right.

Oh no, playing? Me? No, never. :P

It's a pretty decent show, overall. Some of the arcs are a little dry and I've not heard good things about the live action version, but I liked the animated seasons (1-3 I saw) when they were on Cartoon Network here in the States.

My in-progress application for Wolf's sidequest thing. I couldn't find a specific app for it, so I'm using the main one.

Name: Francho "Franc" Gruskopf
Gender: Male
Age: 34
D.O.B.: Whatever-makes-him-34

Religion: Bastardized Roman Catholic (werewolves as hunters of the wicked for the Church)
Powers/Magical Specializations: Werewolf (transformation abilities)
Bio: Later.
Psychological Profile: Devout. Calm/graceful under pressure. Supremely confident in his abilities. Kindhearted overall and perhaps a bit naive.
Why do you fight?: For God and Country.
Defining Quote: "God of power and mercy,
maker and love of peace,
to know you is to live,
and to serve you is to reign.
Through the intercession of St. Michael, the archangel,
be our protection in battle against all evil.
Help me to overcome war and violence
and to establish your law of love and justice.
Grant this through Christ our Lord."
RP Sample: Right. Of course. I'll get right on that.

NKVD Classified Document - checked and approved for limited distribution

By approval of Secretary General, Josef Stalin, and Minister of Internal Affairs of the Soviet Union, Lavrentiy Pavlovich Beria, the relevant document has, following censorship of important state information, been approved for distribution to relevant allied intelligence agencies for coordination in anti-fascist covert activities. Networks within the fascist alliance had uncovered disturbing details on the rapid advancement of Nazi occult research, and has thus felt it to be of the best interest to disseminate our knowledge to the Western Allies to better combat this emerging threat. It is hoped that supporting agencies would be able to make a joint, concerted effort with the People's Commissariat for Internal Affairs to disrupt and hinder the research activities of the Schutzstaffel Ahnenerbe and other Nazi organizations intent on the subjugation and extermination of the free people of Europe. We are cautiously optimistic of our combined effort to break the Nazi scourge for good and sincerely hope for your fullest support.

SS Ahnenerbe - Einherjar

Image

By far the most disconcerting development by the SS Ahnenerbe to date, the Einherjar are alleged to be fallen SS soldiers, revived through occult and scientific means and enhanced with advanced weapons, armour, and perhaps cybernetics and genetics. While the authenticity of such outrageous claims have yet to be verified, we have reason to believe that their research could pose a veritable thread to our war effort. So far, we have gathered that these weapons have been assembled using occult magic based on Nordic relics and documents recovered from occupied Norway and Denmark, as well as Soviet areas such as Kiev and Novgorod. However, security in their research facilties and sites are, as expected, tight, and progress on further intelligence gathering is slow.

On a side note, the head of the research team was once reported to have boasted that while "the weak use subhumans as fodder, we bring back the strong." We suspect that this may be an indication of a rivalry within Ahnenerbe between the research teams for the Einherjar and the Landschneckt. It can be posited that as a project, the Einherjar's high risk, high yield research has caused some to worry that funding may be diverted to other, more cost effective projects such as the Landschneckt. But inner sources have speculated that prestige, particularly the pride of the research head, may come into play. If possible, SMERSH has recommended exacerbating the tensions, potentially routing funding and material to the Einherjar project as a means of wasting German resources. It would, at least, spare us the trouble of trying to weed out reprogrammed puppets from the Red Army ranks, if less resources are available for the Landschneckt team to exploit and mass produce.

Still, the overall threat of the Einherjar could not be ignored. Initial field tests conducted in East Prussia has shown a remarkable resilience to tank and Flak 88 munitions. Soviet 76mm guns, therefore, are expected to fare poorly against the Einherjar. Combat capabilities remain largely unassessed, limited to field firing exercises. However, from its ability to wield large caliber weapons alone, the machine is expected to have the capabilities of a compact, superheavy tank specializing in close quarters, infantry combat (a role which had, until now, been taken almost entirely by the Order of the Sacred Flame). While destructive on its own, its mere appearance and nigh-invulnerability alone could have an adverse impact on troop morale.

SS Ahnenerbe - Valkyria

Image

While the ranks of the Einherjar draw their ranks from the loyal, only the desperate, despondent, and sometimes opportunistic, make up the ranks of the powerful and diverse Valkyria unit. Initially suspected to be recruited from Soviet esper PoWs, SMERSH's spy networks soon uncovered a far more disturbing explanation. Led by the erratic and fanatical Norwegian witch, Minni Varvik, the Valkyria's esper-derived powers, as are Minni's were taken from elaborate Norse rituals, using captured espers as human sacrifices. How this method could succeed remains beyond our understanding but our intelligence network had discerned that the main recipient of these powers is Varvik herself. After the ritual, the stolen abilities are either retained for use, or delegated to one of her initiated subordinates. Loyalty among the Valkyrie, safe to say, is lacking, with many forcibly inducted at the threat of their lives in areas of partisan concentrations in occupied Europe. However, SMERSH has already dismissed plans to encourage defections from the Valkyria, citing directives by the General Secretary himself on the execution of any and all Soviet citizens who had joined the fascist armies.

Regardless, while the unit is mainly confined to anti-partisan roles, esper units have already reported heavy casualties in encounters with the Valkyria, with SMERSH in the process of compiling potential abilities that could resurface based on missing and captured personnel. Direct combat with Varvik herself is so far prohibited until sufficient countermeasures or firepower could be mustered. But SMERSH expressed confidence that eliminating its leader would severely cripple or dismantle the unit completely. Controlled by fear alone, Varvik's elimination has been set to the highest priority, preferably without involvement from the esper corps, lest we continue to contribute to her growing collection of powers.

Heer - Strafkampfgruppe Geier

By far the most bizarre formation in the Eastern Front, Strafkampfgruppe Geier has defied all attempts by SMERSH to produce an accurate assessment of its strength and capabilities. Estimates of their manpower range wildly, from the high thousands to as little as a squad. Eyewitnesses often point towards lower estimates, and its fighting capabilities had often varied from woeful to frightening. However, what attracted STAVKA's attention to the formation was its tenacity to resist routing at every opportunity, even if reduced to a mere duo. That core, as reports shared by our British allies in the SIS have explained, may be the root of Geier's true danger to the Allied cause.

Image
Case photo of Geier's commander, Colonel Heinrich von Wolfenstein

Led by newly promoted Oberst Heinrich Eugen Graf von Wolfenstein, the highly decorated officer is known for his incredible unpredictability, volatility and contempt for authority, both military and political. However, despite his rampant disciplinary issues, he has thus far defied expectations to produce spectacular results on the field of battle against overwhelming odds. Sent to North Africa as an adviser to the Italians during the British offensive, Operation Compass, the then-Captain Wolfenstein managed to transform a disparate unit of new Italian mages into a cohesive fighting force, playing a spectacular part in rear guard action to frustrate Commonwealth efforts to shatter the Italian front. For his actions, King Victor Emmanuel III awarded him the Medaglia d'Argento al Valore Militare, though the commander was withdrawn back to Germany shortly before. Promoted to Major and earning the title 'Desert Wolf' for his exploits in North Africa, Wolfenstein was to form, with support from several Heer commanders, a penal unit specifically for magisters, though enrollment would be expanded even to non-criminals as well. As an alternative to the officially supported magical arm of the Waffen-SS, Strafkampfgruppe Sechs was to be constantly sidelined, undermanned and undersupplied throughout Operation Barbarossa. However, the shortages, as some in STAVKA assessed, would become the hallmark of Wolfenstein's management of the team, resorting to the salvage and restoration of war machinery, often Soviet, for the unit's personal use. The infamous practice was to earn the unit its name, 'Geier', German for 'vulture', and their resilience in battle was to be a sticking point for many encounters with our esper teams throughout the campaign.

So far, the NKVD and STAVKA had repeatedly accounted for Geier's 'destruction' throughout the Soviet campaign, often to see the unit revived again to cause havoc on Soviet lines. Its open recruitment policy resulted in many inconsistencies in Wolfenstein's operational policy, likely an accommodation of the constantly changing composition of the unit, but also an indication of his unorthodox tactics and ability to adapt. If anything, Wolfenstein himself made the unit possible. As such, SMERSH has recommended several times for the elimination of the commander, either in battle or covert action. However, some have left open the possibility of convincing the commander to change sides, perhaps accounting for, or overestimating his disdain for the Nazi leadership. Others, however, felt that Geier's reputation far outweighed its actual impact on the battlefield, and that deprivations by the SS to force its integration into the branch would inevitably cause its dissolution. But that, to our admission, is a gravely optimistic expectation, and we fully expect Geier to resist all machinations by their own superiors to eliminate them, just as they would of ours.

Caution is advised when confronting the unit in battle.

STAVKA Update: Networks in Warsaw have obtained a shortlist of ranking members in Strafkampfgruppe Geier during the chaos of Comrade Polikarpova's attack on the Warsaw tower. STAVKA has recommended dissemination to all relevant parties to facilitate better cooperation between our comrades and allied agents in SHADOWCOM.

Roster - P.S. Remind CO to update roster - Idunn (19/4/1942)

Please don't. Geier is part of the Heer, not the SS. All the fancy Ghostapo/Jetpack Hitler stuff is reserved for the SS. Heer fodder don't get to have nice stuff. :V

I must say, wow, Wolf you've nearly outdone yourself. :)

It's a pity my German charas are part of the Geier since they won't get the good stuff. :x

Main thread is on permafrost for the time being. My spin-off, however, is not. Be warned though, attrition rates on the Axis side will be high. :}

I wanted to make a Dutch East Indies born character who was brought to Europe as a servant, and then proceeded to join the Axis following the invasion of the Netherlands, so that he/she could do something rather than be oppressed, not only as a local of an occupied nation, but as the servant of a local of an occupied nation.

Or of course join the Royal Dutch Army, and then flee across the continent until Britain following the invasion.

Up to you. Geier's membership is pretty open, not to mention the Axis has a notorious policy of supporting nationalists in Allied colonies (as long as they cooperate with the Axis). This is more from the Japanese side, though. The Germans were a bit more iffy at relying on such people, at least until they started losing.

Of course, SHADOWCOM is open for members too.
