Bloodsuckers, despite their corpse-y smell, arrogant mannerisms, and holier-than-thou attitudes, are not reason enough to start killing everything in sight.

To paraphrase Carl von Clausewitz, philosophy is only trying to kill each other by other means.

Am I the only one concerned that Jannie just burned an entire nation?

As Agri said, she is partly German so Pole-mockery kind'a comes with the territory.
Besides that, she's 160+ year old German who fought in the Napoleonic wars (most likely against, at some point, Poles). Poland is an annoying, artificial and 'spoiled' child of a nation created after WWI that reminds her Austria-Hungary used to...exist. Like Czechoslovakia, for that matter.

In the grand tradition of Socrates, who was so philosophical he bored himself to death. (Not too soon, is it?)
Other philosophers have been trying ever since, with less success in most cases.

"So, would you please accompany us back to our safe-house?" Jannie concluded, as if inviting the woman over for tea.

Heim predicts lots of polite foe yay with Countess Waldstein.

That said, I actually worked a coherent (read: not completely batshit insane) reason for the feasibility of the woman's probability models.

It's a pretty spoiler-ish reason, though.

Agri, you realize that at this very moment in your RP there are two literal vampires, two literal werewolves, a mage capable of summoning fireballs with words, a Soviet with the ability to control earth and water with his life-field/force, and a woman who joined the Eagle Squadron in Britain in 1940 on the street of occupied Warsaw in 1942 (which they reached by way of magical teleportation) while massive nazi zeppelins hover overhead and below them is another team of similar composition (but with the addition of an American super-soldier ala Captain America)?

I'm not criticizing, I'm just saying a coherent reason for the feasibility of one character's 'mathematical probability models' isn't exactly necessary. I don't think anyone would object if the way it worked wasn't realistic enough :p

Oh no, it's that everything in this RP, including supernatural powers, is ruled by somewhat coherent laws. Vampires and their biological quirks are an example.

So, I finally got around to posting! Yay!

RE the choppiness of it: Don't worry, that was intentional. I'm not just getting lazy.

RE the French: It's an excerpt from the Book of Proverbs in the Bible. French version. English version. (I should note that although she only quoted verse 16, this was in reference to the last part of verse 17: "hands that shed innocent blood".) Chances are, I'll be making references to this passage and others in the future, since Adrienne is pretty religious (although her version of Christianity is, as you would know if you've read my app, divergent from standard Catholicism).

Now, I really should sleep, since it's 3:30 in the morning here and the sun's gonna be up in a few hours, which means that the birds will start twittering in maybe an hour (gotta love summer, eh?).

Damn, I'm slow. I only just figured out what the vision was.

We should have given Anatoly more credit for his theory.
For really, I think that the poorest he that is in England hath a life to live as the greatest he. And therefore truly, Sir, I think it's clear that every man that is to live under a Government ought first by his own consent to put himself under that Government. And I do think that the poorest man in England is not at all bound in a strict sense to that Government that he hath not had a voice to put himself under.

Norv, your posts are like artisan bread. You can't just buy it anytime from the nearest supermarket, and you've got to patiently wait for the baker to bear the fruits of his labor, but when you can finally buy it from those honest, hardworking hands, you get to savour what is maybe the most crunchy, delicious type of bread in the world.

And yes, Anatoly can make some quirky but correct statementa.

The pacing seems fine to me. I mean, I hadn't posted in a while due to exterior circumstances, but for the most part I have no problem with it. Advancing at the current pace is actually kind of ideal in my view; it allows enough time for most people who want to post to do so, but we don't have to wait too long to find out what happens next.

Will we have any awesome post-op drinking parties?

Clark would likely be in the corner, drinking bourbon and smoking a cigarette, pretending to be an introvert as he curses the OSS for gypping him into joining Shadow Ops.

Adrienne would probably be shy until she got drunk, at which point she'd be singing and drinking straight from the bottle in the middle of the room. And maybe flirting with several people at once.

In the World on Fire, 221B Baker Street's lower story was partly converted into a pub which his, of course, named the Deerstalker Arms. The upper story still houses Sherlock's house which has been since converted into a small museum exhibit which, due to the war, is only occasionally opened when pub patrons request it.

The pub is almost only visited by SHADOCOM personnel, and in virtue of this it possesses a special government authorization to ignore rationing laws. The cuisine is quite eclectic, with blood packs and raw deer meat being served along mundane sausages and mash. It has got an highly quirky alcohol reserve, including industrial reserves of Absinthe (which Vampires can easily stomach by virtue of not having an actual bloodstream).

There's also a small space for live jazz and swing bands, though due to the war limitations most of the music is broadcast by radio in the establishment. There's a tacit agreement that when Sinatra's songs come up, the radio must be turned off and one of the pub patrons must stand up and sing their heart out.

Brawls are not uncommon.

Sounds like a fun party in the pub. I wonder what kind of fun are we gonna celebrate~. :p

Terry is probably having drink and chat with anyone or playing a trumpet for fun of it. Fun fact, during the Great Depression years, Terry used to work as a waiter, bartender and taxi driver simultaneously to make ends meet. At the same time, becoming a crime-fighter against the mobsters. Well, I can tell you his life is quite colourful in the manner of speaking, good and bad. But I plan to insert snippets of his past when I have time, it helps me practise writing. Anyhow, Terry is just your average, nice guy whom you count on him to watch your back, anytime.

I am gonna be unable to respond most of tonight and tomorrow because my work is having me move from Salt Lake City, Utah to a new location a few states away so I will be driving for about 12 hours. So I won't be able to respond. So Agritum, if you want Anatoly to see anything, can you rp for him?
