The Greater Gambia wrote:So what would you guys think of an Rp similar to Halo:Eclipse from about a year ago, where we're all soldiers and crewmen on a warship? I was going to be using the species from my FT nation to get a pretty good roster of aliens, but I'd think it might be better to get a few species from other people to get a little more variety, not to mention for vehicles, ships, planets, and other things.

So, it'll be a True Detective style RP, where the players can play as a detective, and some family or friends of the police officer, yada yada. I was going to try and keep it in the same gritty, flawed style as True Detective, and each character can get their own ending, and I'll make their actions have consequences. Detectives could be killed, jailed, fired or worse in the grand scheme of the story. Anyways, if it was successful enough, each different RP would be like the anthology format of True Detective, each one keeping the same rules and character sheet while creating new characters and a new setting. So, yeah. Thoughts?

Unnamed FT Character Rp Info
Ship Name: OAUS-"Grestin"
Ship Class: Procyon-Class Battle Cruiser
Manufacturer Name and Location: OAU Military R&D Division in Cooperation with Union Intelligence Network at Dera Research Facility on Pluto.
Armament: 2 Medusa Missile Pods, 2 squadrons of strike craft,
1 Type-11 "Tsar" Railgun, 1 Prototype GEN I Izanami Dark Matter Anti-Ship Cannon
12 Type-21 "Artemis" Point Defense Cannons
Crew:AK-2436 "Pruchenko"
The AK-2436 "Pruchenko" is a remnant of the past. Its roots go back to the mid-twentieth Century, where its ancestor became Pre-Space faring Earth's most populous weapon. The design would be seen across the battlefield until the late 21st Century, when the appearance of more "modern" weaponry would begin to make an appearance. Still, the AK would rear its head out from time to time, such as the AK-2110 being the mainline weapon of the African Union during the Unification War in 2151 and the AK-2220 being used by Ethnic Rebels during the War of the Saturn Rings in 2240. During more peaceful times, older versions of the weapon could be found being used heavily by civilians. Colonists have found the durability of the weapon to be extremely useful in the harsh conditions of colonial life. Other's have found more nefarious uses for the weapon in the criminal underworld of the Galaxy, becoming a favorite of human and extraterrestrial criminals alike. Still, the AK finds it's way back to the battlefield, with the AK-2436 being recently used and gained fame in the Great War by Partisans in the Osiris Star Cluster against the Occupying Tagali Federation Forces.
While weapon can still use archaic bullets, the weapon can be modified with Mass Accelerator modules and Plasma equipment, making it a more modern rifle. It's durability gives it the edge over more technologically advanced hardware, which can be damaged in hazardous environments. The "Pruchenko" is reliable in not only Terran-Like Environments, but can also withstand conditions similar to pre-terraformed Venus. While not the most modern weapon, it can still find a use in the modern galaxy.
