Can I get links to these? They sound interesting.

I suggested an idea like that earlier in my rp group, the idea was called Once We Were Villains.

Any more details?

V1 is dead as fried chicken, so is V2 and 2.?. V3 is still going, but from the way it looks, it might die out soon.

I gathered that, but I'd like to maybe read over the concept.

Oh yeah. I knew I recognized you from somewhere.

I haven't seen anyone try and tackle a post-villain world like the one in Old Man Logan yet. I tried something similar in different superhero RP, but the idea never came to fruition when the story died out.

I had that exact idea. Players were characters in a world where a Justice League/Avengers/Authority/whatever group of superheroes fought campy villains and had fun and exciting adventures, until the "campy" villains finally won. I mean they only had to win once right? The story starts decades later after the villains have carved the former United States up into pieces with each of the major villains getting a slice. The players were superheroes only in the sense that they had powers and the villains hadn't killed them yet.

Didn't do any work on it though.

That could be fairly cool, depending on what era of comics you focus on for inspiration.

I find that a lot of the campy sixties stuff is rife with things that are horrifying in retrospect.

That's just it. The original heroes were all silver age campy heroes, but the twist was the villains who organized the plot were far more terrifying than anyone believed.

The world had come to think of the heroes and villains as non-threatening. The cabal of villains that orchestrated everything hid in the sea of silliness so that no one could see what they were really up to.

That's...actually really clever. I can just imagine Condiment King or Kite Man type characters secretly turning out to be evil masterminds.

My idea had been that the organization responsible for policing superhumans was actually being run by supervillains, and that the heroes of the faction were really exercising the will of some evil villainous Illuminati.

Damn we have similar ideas. I abandoned that idea for an RP called New Frontier. It had villains taking over the country as the backstory, but by the time the RP started they had been overthrown. The public lost faith in the classic superheroes, but they still wanted heroes to protect them, so the world's governments banded together to create The Unity project. It lead to the ability to artificially grant anyone superpowers. The Unity thus became a global organization where superheroes worked as government agents and created a new age of world peace.

Of course the old villains were overthrown because they had mysteriously disappeared and what do you know they were behind the Unity from the get go.

I really like the main supervillain I came up with. Too bad I never got to really develop her.

Anyone ever come up with a character that they really liked but weren't able to flesh out before the RP ended?

I had entertained doing a superhero RP at one point before I started working on other projects. Never got beyond the conceptual stage, though. Had ideas for a lot of good scenes, but nothing for an overarching story.

I might do one with the Para-Verse someday, but there's a little too much established lore to do anything substantial with superheroes in that particular universe.

All I know is that, while I want to do a serious drama a la Watchmen, I know people want goofy shit. Kinda got caught up on that one and decided to hang the cape, pun intended, on OPing anything superhero related.

Constantly. There's a reason I'm super picky about what RPs I join nowadays.

Xylon1 from Might makes right and Chainz from there as well. My first charact, an elemental enerhy manipulator with conditional powers.

Also this character i thought of for an infamous rp, i. Never got to do

Nothing wrong with goofy. Nothing wrong with serious. I like how flexible the superhero genre can be.

Probably why I keep pooping out superhero ideas. It's not that I haven't thought of other things, it's just that my other ideas don't translate into RPs well. I'd have to be a brilliant writer to make a good King of the Hill RP for example.

When you start a new topic there is the options to create a poll at the bottom of the page. You can only have up to 10 poll options though.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Pub!!!! I bring to you.......... nothing right now. In a little bit it will be fully ready, until then you may let your imagination run wild.
