Correction, she still has horns, a tail, her arms are still mostly draconic, she can still grow wings, her chest and lady bits are covered by dragonskin and scales are patched out around her face, mainly under her eyes.

Gabriel is supposed to be partially a deconstruction of the stereotypical image of a fairy tale prince and partially an allegory for my own life experience with high-functioning autism.

He basically is just too curious and not cutthroat enough to succeed in the courtly circles. Plus he is shy and bashful and he would much rather be in a library than on a battlefield or in a ballroom.
