Perhaps it might also be protected by sea monsters or perhaps some Indiana Jones styled deathtraps, mostly involving water and flooding/ drowning. Or maybe that is too cliched. Its location is probably already secure enough to begin with.

Obviously there was no legal drinking age during the general timeframe this RP is analogous too. In medieval Europe and later colonial America, even children would drink "small beer" with a very low alcohol content, because it was safer to drink than the available water supply.

It doesn't bother me at all. I frequently portray street vendors selling kvass to children as if it were lemonade in my IC nation.

Its set approximately during the 1940s. Kids were tougher and parents were less paranoid for their safety. Plus its in Eastern Europe
