Alam Majapahit (FanT RP OOC, Interests, World-building)

Alam Majapahit, Indonesian for 'Majapahit World'. Setting in the Fantasy-version of our IRL except with one change. In the essence, a what-if scenario where Majapahit still exists and didn't fall, causing butterfly effects in the process and history is slightly different than what we're used to know. And so here in this OOC, we're going to discuss about it~.

Map 1's timeline sets in 1912. While Map 2's sets in 1930s to 1940s - World War 2 period in other words. In determining the colours of the map, see this link.

Also, this reference link can help fleshing out the world where Majapahit still exists. Especially a Fantasy one.

Essentially, I have trouble deciding which timeline we can go for. Which is why I made this OOC so we all can the feasibility of the idea.

Err…maybe but frankly I didn’t really plan to do either of them. Cuz at the moment, I’m thinking the plot will be set in either 1912 or WW2 timeline. So, which of the two timelines you guys are really interested in?

Yeah, if you’re familiar with Russian Civil War, this is what happens – between Soviet Union and White Russian remnants as Far East Republican-like state, unlike in IRC both Russias ended up as Soviet Union instead as we know in history. Thanks to support of the allies, Imperial Germany (which survives after WW1 ended up as a draw) and the presence of stronger China and Majapahit’s tacit support for the White Russians against the Communists. In my timeline, it’s like North and South Korea.

1912, I prefer it.

Of course, WW2 timeline attracts more players due to them being more familiar with most, if not all players.

Owwwh, alright, that make sense. This mean China should be split too or the civil war won by the Nationalist? One thing i did not understand is on this world, is Majapahit already finished modernization, trying to, or still considered as backwater, uncivilized country by the western world? Maybe Majapahit have it's own version of Meiji restoration?

On contrary, I did plan for China to remained Imperial. Perhaps a different dynasty or the surviving Qing (thanks to Majapahit’s covert support in return for China become its ally).

I found this interesting Alternative History in regards to the Middle Kingdom that it’s possible for China to remain as a monarchy. Albeit as a Constitutional Monarchy like Japan after series of reforms.

More or less the latter, I did plan Majapahit to have their own Meiji to pull it off into becoming a modernised great power. However, still considered slightly ‘backwards’ by the West much as they viewed Imperial Japan being one.

Probably but unlikely since Majapahit remains a monarchy - a constitution one. It will be strange for a monarchy to support communism y’know. Not without some ulterior motives for our Red friends. :}

Probably but unlikely since Majapahit remains a monarchy - a constitution one. It will be strange for a monarchy to support communism y’know.

But it's not unlikely for communism to rise within monarchy to overthrow the monarchy.

True. But it's not like communism can make everything better and it's not impossible to reinstate monarchy afterwards. It's like French and Russian revolution all over again. But unlike them, I do plan for Majapahit to remain as monarchy.

Nope. It's the other way around.

Because Japan didn't have any experience in being an extensive empire before deciding to become one in WW2. Especially when it comes to ruling various cultures and ethnic minorities, radically different to their own.

It means either Japan didn't invaded Korea and Manchu, or Korea is not isolating themselves from modernization and able to keep up its military with Japan.

Yeah, I know what you mean. But...I can put in the story background that Japan did attempt to conquer Korea and Manchuria if it helps, only to be repelled by the Chinese forces who is more better chances of successes than in RL.

If Imperial Germany will transforms into Nazi instead of going into Weimar first before into Nazi then it's more unlikely. Of course, does Imperial Germany still lost the same way they were during WW1?
