History:
The history of the Second Latin Empire (the first having been created by the Fourth Crusade and then destroyed by a briefly-resurgent Byzantium) begins with the Crusade of Varna in 1444. Launched by John Hunyadi and King Władysław III of Poland and Hungary in response to rumours of Ottoman weakness, the Crusade succeeded beyond all hope. The Ottoman army was destroyed while crossing the Sea of Marmara by a mixed Papal/Venetian fleet which destroyed it's naval escorts and then proceeded to blockade the straits, separating the Ottoman Empire.
The Polish-Hungarian army defeated the Ottoman forces that remained in Europe at the battle of Varna, capturing the Sultan after a massed cavalry charge led by the King broke through the Ottoman Janissaries. The Sultan's capture would lead to the Treaty of Constantinople, where the Ottomans surrendered all land west of the Aegean to the Byzantine Empire while Anatolia was surrendered to the newly-declared Latin Empire, with the Ottomans expelled to a small rump state between Anatolia and the Causcaus.
After King Władysław III returned home and died shortly after, leading to the splitting of Poland and Hungary, while John Hunyadi, in recognition of his part in the Crusade, was named Emperor of the Latin Empire and all lands within in 1445. After seizing and exiling the many Muslim nobles, John granted the vacated fiefs to the Polish and Hungarian nobility that followed him on crusade along the old Byzantine themes. He recognised the need for a more organised military than was present in Europe, and created the predecessor to the Ezred system.
On his death in 1458 his Hungarian lands passed to Ladislaus Hunyadi, his younger son, while Matthias Hunyadi became Emperor. A keen intellectual and Renaissance man, Matthias would formalise the Ezred system to create a modern army and would also preside over a period of theological debate not seen in the Christian world since the splitting of the Roman Empire, as Catholic, Orthodox and non-Chanceldonian churches collided in one place for the first time in a millennia, and it is widely believed that the product of this debate, Oriental Theology, influenced the ideas of Protestantism later on.
Matthias's son Casamir would inherit the Empire after Matthias' death in 1507, and would see the fruits planted in his father's reign sprout. The beginning of the spread of Protestantism struck a chord in the Latin Empire, where isolated from mainstream Catholicism and exposed to much older and more distinct forms of Christianity, the debate became more intense over not simply church conduct, but the nature of the divine as well. Unlike Europe, however, where such debates would spark wars and violence, in the Latin Empire it was settled by lengthy but peaceful theological debate. The end result was the Archbishop of Ancyra renouncing Roman Catholicism and creating Anatolian Latin Christianity, influenced by both the Protestant ideals and the non-Chanceldonian churches.
Casamir was succeeded by John II in 1549, who bound the military themes to the fiefs ruled by the nobility and made the nobles partially responsible for the upkeep of troops from each fief, while also separating the Ezredek into the Hercegi and Megyei, the former of which was funded by the crown directly, the latter of which was funded by both the nobles and crown. He also created the Birodalmi Tanács near the end of his reign to satisfy the nobility.
John II died in 1590, leaving the throne to John III. John III consolidated his father's reforms, laying down a proper code of law for the Empire to follow, while reforming the Tanács so as for it to be able to properly perform it's duty of balancing the power of the emperor and the nobility. This rebalancing would ultimately cripple his predecessor after he died in 1627, Matthias II, who due to a group of rebellious nobles and ascending the throne from a young age would only manage to keep the status quo rather than retracting the balance in his favour as he attempted.
Matthias II died in 1701, passing the throne to Ekaterina I. Unlike her father Ekaterina did not have to deal with a rebellious nobility, and modified the Ezred system into it's modern form. Ekaterina would also found the Imperial Latin Navy, although it would be neglected by her son Paul who ascended the throne in 1746. Alongside the downsizing of the navy, Paul also modernised the military in terms of both tactics and equipment from observation of wars back in Europe. Paul died in 1787, leaving the throne to Charles, who accomplished precious little before his death by disease in 1790 and the throne passing to his daughter Anna, who although she has held her ground against the nobility, has done nothing else, but this is more than likely due to her short time on the throne so far.

Brief Description of your Economy: Wallachia has a very agriculturally-centred economy, with small industries in mining and logging. It also boasts a strong fishing business in the Danube, which is one of the country's main pieces of infrastructure.
Goals: Eventually free all Romanians from their Royal tyrants and unite all of Romania under one banner.
History: During the uprising period of 1703-1711 within the Kingdom of Hungary, Transylvania and Wallachia were declared an independant kingdom by the Wallachian noble Constantin Brâncoveanu, who established himself as king with the support of other local nobles who shared his view on the Habsburgs. This led to a three-way civil war, in which Brâncoveanu was slain in battle, which in turn led to a power struggle within the newly-founded kingdom. These many lords continued their petty wars for several years, during which they were each slowly eliminated by the Habsburgs, who were able to secure Transylvania despite heavy resistance.
During this time, the people of Wallachia had grown tired of their tyrant lords, which resulted in the 1709 Massacre, in which the entirety of the Wallachian nobility were executed and the Wallachian Republic declared by Vlad Țepeș. By the time that the Habsburg forces reached Wallachia, tied and battered from their long war, they were met with the impaled, bloody corpses of the Wallachian nobility; men, women and children alike. Seeing this, the Austrians turned back and left the Wallachians alone, returning to Vienna with the intention of returning at a later date. But as time passed, Austria's power dwindled, and the 'playground' of Europe kept them too occupied to turn their attention to the Wallachians, thus leaving them in peace.
Now, almost 90 years later, the Wallachians have developed a state of self-sustenance, with everyone living a relatively good life and being treated as equals, as 'civil rights paradise', if you will. All men are given the vote, from soldier to fisherman, and all Wallachians have the right to bear arms, leading to a de facto guerrilla defense force across the country, apart from the standing army. And now the air in Europe has changed, with the French and Dutch following the example of the Wallachians and forming new Republics across Europe. Now, in these dark times, Europe will be forged anew, with the fall of tyrants and the birth of freedom emerging through Fire and Steel.

Brief Description of your Economy: The Bavarian economy is completely dependent on trading with neighboring states. It is mostly based on crafts and agriculture, though industry is beginning to make its way into Munich. Even then, it will take years for Bavaria to industrialize.

History: Bavaria's history remained largely the same until 1620, when Duke Maximilian I declared war on the Palatinate Counties with Austria and Spain. Taking the region was simple, though major cities were still fighting on the side of the Protestants. Bavarian forces worked with Spanish and Austrian armies to take these regions. In 1623, when the Spanish sacked Heidelberg, Bavarian forces were tasked with occupying the region. The region was occupied by Bavaria until 1648. In 1645, as the French were getting deeper into Holy Roman territory, Bavarian forces began to fight back. In Württemberg, Bavarian forces managed to halt the advance of the French army temporarily at the Battle of Herbsthausen. With this, the Bavarian Army secured a strong presence in the region, limiting France's influence in Western Germany. After several battles with the French and Protestant armies, the Bavarian military remained strong in Württemberg. After the wars, Bavaria's status was elevated to an electorate and was given the Palatinate Counties and portions of Eastern Württemberg. Württemberg itself was merged with Baden to create the Duchy of Baden-Württemberg.
The years following the Thirty Years' War, Bavaria had a strong influence over Southern Germany, especially Baden-Württemberg. In 1682, to strengthen ties between the two states within the HRE even further, Elector Maximilian II Emanuel married the Duke's daughter. Bavaria remained stagnant, politically and territory-wise, until 1740. In this year, Bavarian forces invaded Austria along side French and Prussian forces. However, Bavaria did not fight too much in Austria. They fought in the initial invasions, then pulled out of the country. Instead, the Electorate focused on making sure that German states that might support the Austrians, such as the Bishopric of Würzberg, the Margraviate of Bayreuth, the Duchy of Badne-Württemberg, and several other states. This was the start of the South German War, which lasted for nearly four years. The Bavarian military invaded several states, occupying some of them to expand its territory. The only state that Bavaria did not invade to expand, Baden-Württemberg, agreed to a personal union with the Electorate. The last battle occurred on August 1st, 1744 in Würzberg. This ended with Bishopric's southern half being occupied by Bavaria. The Peace of Munich allowed Bavaria to keep much of the land it occupied by the War's end, with the exception of the Margraviate of Ansbach. Later that year, at the Peace of Salzburg, Bavaria's status was elevated to a Kingdom, with Karl Albrecht being crowned King of Greater Bavaria.
The South German War, despite being a military victory, had caused a large amount of damage to Bavarian infrastructure and the Bavarian economy. In early 1745, when King Karl died unexpectedly, his son, King Maximilian I Joseph, was elected King by the Diet of Munich. King Maximilian, despite being crowned during a difficult period for Bavaria, managed to keep it afloat. For the first few years, he worked on trying to salvage the infrastructure of damaged cities and roads from the war. At the same time, he tried to restore diplomacy with other German states. The South German War, due to outright Bavarian aggression, damaged relations between the Kingdom and any surviving states in the South and even states in the North. While relations have not yet normalized between Bavaria and the other German states, it has at least been become better.
After the infrastructure of Bavaria was finally fixed in 1754, the Kingdom began to normalize finally nearly a decade after the war. Since then, the Bavarian aristocracy has focused on knowledge and science. In 1776, a Bavarian philosopher named Adam Weishaupt founded the Order of the Illuminati in Ingolstadt. This anti-religious society was not popular in the beginning. However, after key members of the Bavarian aristocracy became members, including King Karl Theodor himself, it has gained some traction. The Kingdom has also been trying to become a major state in Central European politics. the King has been attempting to improve relations with the new French government and improve the national military.

Brief Description of your Economy: Wallachia has a very agriculturally-centred economy, with small industries in mining and logging. It also boasts a strong fishing business in the Danube, which is one of the country's main pieces of infrastructure.
Goals: Eventually free all Romanians from their Royal tyrants and unite all of Romania under one banner.
History: During the uprising period of 1703-1711 within the Kingdom of Hungary, Transylvania and Wallachia were declared an independant kingdom by the Wallachian noble Constantin Brâncoveanu, who established himself as king with the support of other local nobles who shared his view on the Habsburgs. This led to a three-way civil war, in which Brâncoveanu was slain in battle, which in turn led to a power struggle within the newly-founded kingdom. These many lords continued their petty wars for several years, during which they were each slowly eliminated by the Habsburgs, who were able to secure Transylvania despite heavy resistance.
During this time, the people of Wallachia had grown tired of their tyrant lords, which resulted in the 1709 Massacre, in which the entirety of the Wallachian nobility were executed and the Wallachian Republic declared by Vlad Țepeș. By the time that the Habsburg forces reached Wallachia, tied and battered from their long war, they were met with the impaled, bloody corpses of the Wallachian nobility; men, women and children alike. Seeing this, the Austrians turned back and left the Wallachians alone, returning to Vienna with the intention of returning at a later date. But as time passed, Austria's power dwindled, and the 'playground' of Europe kept them too occupied to turn their attention to the Wallachians, thus leaving them in peace.
Now, almost 90 years later, the Wallachians have developed a state of self-sustenance, with everyone living a relatively good life and being treated as equals, as 'civil rights paradise', if you will. All men are given the vote, from soldier to fisherman, and all Wallachians have the right to bear arms, leading to a de facto guerrilla defense force across the country, apart from the standing army. And now the air in Europe has changed, with the French and Dutch following the example of the Wallachians and forming new Republics across Europe. Now, in these dark times, Europe will be forged anew, with the fall of tyrants and the birth of freedom emerging through Fire and Steel.

Brief Description of your Economy: The Bavarian economy is completely dependent on trading with neighboring states. It is mostly based on crafts and agriculture, though industry is beginning to make its way into Munich. Even then, it will take years for Bavaria to industrialize.
Goals: To become the dominant German state, to ally with the new French government, and to maintain sovereignty
History: Bavaria's history remained largely the same until 1620, when Duke Maximilian I declared war on the Palatinate Counties with Austria and Spain. Taking the region was simple, though major cities were still fighting on the side of the Protestants. Bavarian forces worked with Spanish and Austrian armies to take these regions. In 1623, when the Spanish sacked Heidelberg, Bavarian forces were tasked with occupying the region. The region was occupied by Bavaria until 1648. In 1645, as the French were getting deeper into Holy Roman territory, Bavarian forces began to fight back. In Württemberg, Bavarian forces managed to halt the advance of the French army temporarily at the Battle of Herbsthausen. With this, the Bavarian Army secured a strong presence in the region, limiting France's influence in Western Germany. After several battles with the French and Protestant armies, the Bavarian military remained strong in Württemberg. After the wars, Bavaria's status was elevated to an electorate and was given the Palatinate Counties and portions of Eastern Württemberg. Württemberg itself was merged with Baden to create the Duchy of Baden-Württemberg.
The years following the Thirty Years' War, Bavaria had a strong influence over Southern Germany, especially Baden-Württemberg. In 1682, to strengthen ties between the two states within the HRE even further, Elector Maximilian II Emanuel married the Duke's daughter. Bavaria remained stagnant, politically and territory-wise, until 1740. In this year, Bavarian forces invaded Austria along side French and Prussian forces. However, Bavaria did not fight too much in Austria. They fought in the initial invasions, then pulled out of the country. Instead, the Electorate focused on making sure that German states that might support the Austrians, such as the Bishopric of Würzberg, the Margraviate of Bayreuth, the Duchy of Badne-Württemberg, and several other states. This was the start of the South German War, which lasted for nearly four years. The Bavarian military invaded several states, occupying some of them to expand its territory. The only state that Bavaria did not invade to expand, Baden-Württemberg, agreed to a personal union with the Electorate. The last battle occurred on August 1st, 1744 in Würzberg. This ended with Bishopric's southern half being occupied by Bavaria. The Peace of Munich allowed Bavaria to keep much of the land it occupied by the War's end, with the exception of the Margraviate of Ansbach. Later that year, at the Peace of Salzburg, Bavaria's status was elevated to a Kingdom, with Karl Albrecht being crowned King of Greater Bavaria.
The South German War, despite being a military victory, had caused a large amount of damage to Bavarian infrastructure and the Bavarian economy. In early 1745, when King Karl died unexpectedly, his son, King Maximilian I Joseph, was elected King by the Diet of Munich. King Maximilian, despite being crowned during a difficult period for Bavaria, managed to keep it afloat. For the first few years, he worked on trying to salvage the infrastructure of damaged cities and roads from the war. At the same time, he tried to restore diplomacy with other German states. The South German War, due to outright Bavarian aggression, damaged relations between the Kingdom and any surviving states in the South and even states in the North. While relations have not yet normalized between Bavaria and the other German states, it has at least been become better.
After the infrastructure of Bavaria was finally fixed in 1754, the Kingdom began to normalize finally nearly a decade after the war. Since then, the Kingdom has been attempting to become a major state in Central European politics. King Karl Theodor has been attempting to improve relations with the new French government and improve the national military.
