The Kaiser Franz's second daughter, Marie Louise, married Napoleon I and became Empress consort of the French. The Austrians contributed 34,000 men to La Grande Armée during the French invasion of Russia.

The alliance broke down after Napoleon's retreat from Russia, and Austria joined the Sixth Coalition in 1813.

Except of course I'm considering doing this pre-emptively, rather than after I lose a ton of lands.

I know it is a weird year. Worst comes to worse use the population for like 1801 and trim off some.

Wouldn't I actually want to add some? I believe Nappys wars were quite devastating in terms of population (even if of course they weren't as costly as the (proper) World Wars).

What you have there would be, roughly translated. Kingdom Greater-area (like in, Greater Metropolitan area) Bavaria.
I don't think Groß ever was featured as part of the official name of any state, in the German language at least. But if you so chose, what you are looking for would probably be "Königreich Großbayern/Groß-Bayern" (One of those, obviously).

Mayhaps filling the role that Spain played? I believe the Rev Wars of this time line would probably align themselves with the last 1780s up until 1794. Consulate comes after that and is the current form of gov't.

@Jon. I think if you do it before getting smacked around a bit it would be a bit... well, unusual.
I'd at least suggest going to war and losing some bits of land before the whole idea. Not much land, but still.

Yes actually. Colombia, Peru, and Central America are all rebelling against Spanish rule. Val intends to peace them out soon after the IC starts.

Also re a few reservations:

Swiss-Piedmont is interesting. I'm not too sure I want Switzerland to not be independent to a degree. But, in all honesty it does not matter because Swiss-Piedmont is going to be Napoleon's first logical target anyways.

However, the HRE is still very much a thing - which raises a concern. Maybe you only take the Italian cantons of Switzerland or some more land up in northern Italy?
