Huh... so technically, the way to discern Hivemind from others (cyber or not) is to simply put them into a location where telecommunication signals cannot reach. That's a very convenient way to discover where rats of hivemind is... although in Korea, anyone who is not part of Danwol Group and yet uses cyber implants are generally frowned upon by general masses.
Man, I feel SO lonely in this world filled with cyber-junkies. No one wants to be a biodirectionalist?! Seriously? I only have terrorist and maybe India?
I think ours is not based around towers or satellites for connection. Although, OP has yet to say.
You'd need something to connect the Hivemind, which means either satellites or towers for the general populace. However, the military could simply use relatively short-range portable transceivers, while training the personnel to cope with only being connected to a small group rather than the entire Hivemind.

No, exactly my point. If you make an individual who is part of hivemind and isolate him/her by putting him/her in a heavy-metal containment and shoot disrupting signals at it, you can effectively sever connection of an individual of hivemind from the rest. If done so, then the individual would be standing helpless or in the state of panic as he/she is no longer connected to hivemind.
That... very effective way to figure out who is who. I like it.
Now mind you, no matter what you say you cannot get into Invatium's head honchos. They are freakishly zealous about being a biological. It isn't as much as a counter for you as much as it is a lore for them. They are biological supremacists (they have to be: all Koreans are racist at something), and anyone with decent clearance would have to have their cybernetic implants removed. And if anyone wishes to be in on the highest level decision making and highest level research, they would need to have never touched a cybernetic implants. Mind you, biological tinkering and making your brain capacity better is always an option that no one really cares whether you have done so or not ^^
... although... Danwol Group (which is SECOND strongest faction in Korea follow Inovatium) is biological uploaders, and their upper-level corporate executives always have some kind of cybernetic implants to connect them into a cybersphere. Of course, there are ways to be able to upload yourself into cyberspace without using implants (a practice common in Korean gaming industry in this timeline if I could say so myself), but I would see that the efficiency of constant connection would be appealing to uploaders like Danwol.
You'd have to do it one by one with that method, so unless you want to create massive concentration camps to house and inspect suspected connectionists, you'd probably have to only use that method on specific suspects rather than the general populace. That does bring up an interesting point - any connectionist spies would have to commit suicide almost immediately upon being captured. The combined mental distress of being disconnected with torture would certainly be enough for them to divulge information.
I'll be very interested in working with Danwol Group!
