Honestly, I'm sure you can find scattered deposits of iron in the hills of your region. Not large ones, but enough to at least make a few hundred weapons.

Character App:
Name ( can be actual name or a made up one): Katie Benson (close to my real name, but easier to spell, though, naturally, I will lie about my name depending on where I am and the era, to fit in better).
Age( same as above): 18
height( The reason why this is in here is because average height back then was 5'7'): Average height for guys, I'm assuming. I'm 5' 7"
Gender( this will affect your character for obvious reasons): Female (unfortunately).
Where in the world you land: Mesopotamia
Intentions( optional): Improve people's livelihoods, nurture the advancement of science and mathematics, stop book burnings, and ensure that the Mali Empire discovers America before the Europeans. And, of course, to survive.

Yikes. Mali is African, pal. No erasing of black history here! And Mesopotamia is taken. As is Egypt, in case that was your next pick.
... How about India?
Sorry, I wasn't very clear. I understand that the Mali empire was in western Africa, however, it was not present at 3000 BC, I was describing my plan for farther in the future. I hate the erasing of African History, one of the reasons I am fascinated by the Mali empire was that I had never heard of it before, in school or otherwise, until I read an article about the Timbuktu Manuscripts in a magazine--How could an empire so influential be overlooked? I wanted to go to Mesopotamia, mainly because I find the ancient cities there fascinating--I would love see Uruk at its height, and the timing was right. I'm sorry I didn't realize that you can only have one person per place. I'll see if I can find somewhere cool where no one is yet.

Same here. Africa had a good number of "significant" empires. Of course, western texts won't tell you that because it ruins their narrative. We both know why it was overlooked, but if I were to spell it out for you it would, no doubt, rustle some jimmies. Personally, I think you should stick around and go for a Mali empire that can assimilate all of Africa and keep it out of non-African hands. Of course, you don't have to choose Mali. Not my RP, and I wouldn't force you to choose it anyway if you didn't want to write it. Just saying that if you DO want it, no one is kicking you out so you can do whatever it is you're wanting to do.

Are we not allowed to travel in this hypothetical situation? I assumed that we could, but I guess that would make things very complicated. I was going to travel to the Mali Empire later, but, If we aren't allowed to travel, I'll choose Western Africa.
