That is a good point. Do we actually age (like Captain Jack from Doctor Who) or do we just stay the way we are?
And what about hair? Dangit! I'll never get that amazing moustache I wanted.

The Mali Empire was a kingdom in Africa in the Middle Ages, not in Mespotomia back then, so I don't understand how this fits on.The United Nations of New Mali wrote:Found this late in the game, but it sounds like a cool idea, so:

Name ( can be actual name or a made up one): Katie Benson (close to my real name, but easier to spell, though, naturally, I will lie about my name depending on where I am and the era, to fit in better).
Age( same as above): 18
height( The reason why this is in here is because average height back then was 5'7'): Average height for guys, I'm assuming. I'm 5' 7"
Gender( this will affect your character for obvious reasons): Female (unfortunately).
Where in the world you land: Mesopotamia
Intentions( optional): Improve people's livelihoods, nurture the advancement of science and mathematics, stop book burnings, and ensure that the Mali Empire discovers America before the Europeans. And, of course, to survive.

Yikes. Mali is African, pal. No erasing of black history here! And Mesopotamia is taken. As is Egypt, in case that was your next pick.In Gentem Et De Libris Scientiam wrote:would it be legit to make a steam engine?

I would say a couple hundred years into development, it would be feasible.
