I turned to the tree line and started taking potshots at anything that moved, and although I didn't know it at the time, the lack of light and the fires fucked with my vision, and I sent a burst straight at Alice.

Something that felt a lot like a huge hammer blow suddenly cleaned Alice's legs out from under her and she went crashing down in the dirt. She snarled something unintelligible, staggered to her feet, or tried to, before ending up fla on her face again. Then the pain set in, like someone had jammed a hot poker through her left calf. She gave a sob, then flicked on the radio, "I'm hit!" she gasped, "I'm..." she let it go, there were still bullets whizzing around. It was hard to focus, but she managed to put up a weak shield, extending in a low dome about a foot above her body. It would deflect stray bullets, but she doubted she could hold it against a concerted attack.

Why was she the one who always got shot, slammed against the floor, thrown down an elevator shaft, crushed under rubble...? She doubted there were many other meta-humans who had sustained quite so many debilitating injuries in the last five years. It really wasn't fair. She gave another sob, pulled out her cellphone. The mystery caller probably wasn't still on the line, though she didn't think to check, she just jammed the phone to her head, "Thank you for the assist stranger, but I've messed up..."

There was a snapping, crunching sound of something large pushing through the undergrowth - Shane. A bullet pinged off his shoulder, then he dropped down next to Alice, "Drop the shield Watcher, I'm getting you out of here."

Some distance away, Zara had been listening to what was going on through her radio, as well as watching Atlas, mostly in case he missed someone outflanking them. It never hurt to have a second pair of eyes. Her eyes widened as she put two and two together, "Allah be merciful... Atlas... I think that was you."

There was no accusation in her tone... if anything she sounded sympathetic. Zara had been around long enough to realize that, no matter how experienced a team was, blue-on-blue incidents happened.

Atlas
I frowned, "Shit." My radio chimed on, "Triglav, It's ball ammo so it'll just be a small tunnel, Just keep pressure on the wound." I fired another burst at another hostile, the the belt ended then. I was out of ammo, I looked down to find Mr. Tinman's sidearm, an HK45, I expected a laser pistol of sorts. I snatched it up despite his attempts to stop me, and began pulling ammo off his form, "Where is the wound located?"

The thing is I honestly didn't do anything like that, you talked to me once and said, 'tell them to calm down a bit.' but that was probably a mistake, you know how many universes there are with you in them, things may have gotten jumbled a bit, hell you may be from a differing universe from the ones I nerfed.

"Well, I'm not from this universe in the first place. I'm not even from this dimension. And stop trying to get my still pretty human like brain out of the way by using confusing things, don't go with that, I see clear through your game. And even then, they don't all deserve to be nerfed. But there's no true need to just do it like that. And you know damn well you are in multiple places at the same time just like I am, they're our clones from other timelines and universes.
I'm not perfect like you, because I ascended from human. However, I'm just as old as you." The white haired man said, still lightly disappointed in his fellow god.

"Don't get me wrong though, I'm not taking their part or anything, I won't interfere for now, but I will tell them that it wasn't me that said that stuff. Because the one they know in this dimension is the one you're talking to.
How the hell am I supposed to explain all this to everyone that knows them? Or them in the first place? Even if they took my side, they're still going to ask. And before you say anything, they aren't all mortals.
They are half Fae and even then, they aren't even from Earth in the first place, they're from that solar system I created, all the Lareylis originate from there, same goes for the Caerwyn, Demeter and Tellier. And you know this just as much as I do."

As I strode through the jungle I heard my old rival out, "You tell them the truth, it'll be a long conversation but they'll get it in the end. And you're not the only one who ascended from human. Technically I'm older too since I originated elsewhere, far before this dimension was created." I walked into a snowed out area, Santa was most likely near, "You may want to get off my shoulder."

"Erm..." there was a pause, more gunfire from inside the woods, "It's a calf wound, hit laterally, don't think the bullet struck the bone. I'm going to have to get out of here before we get surrounded, we can check out the damage when we're somewhere safer."

Zara, meanwhile, frowned and punched Atlas in the shoulder, "I wasn't going to say anything. It would have been better if they thought it was an enemy."

A few moments later, Triglav burst out of the undergrowth, flying about a foot off the ground, leaving a trail of scorched earth and small fires in his wake. There was a faint, bluish glow in the air following him from which bullets ricocheted away - Alice was still focused enough to lay down telekinetic cover. That was probably a good sign.

Mr. Grin watched from a distance. It saw several armed men. They looked like-

-his captors. Setting Clark down gently on the ground, it ran in all fours like an animal, and shredded the first soldier it found like tissue paper. It was enraged. It was angry. It wanted to kill those that harmed Clark.

Laurel was still crouched down on he rooftop, vaguely wondering where all of the Lareylis siblings had run off to. Individually they all suffered from a bad case of verbal diarrhea, in a group, well... Their sudden absence was quite noticeable. Which left Laurel in something of an awkward situation. Nobody knew she was here apart from them. She would look like a target to everyone on the field, which was not a position she especially liked being in.

She frowned, cocking her head to one side. Something didn't feel quite right. There was... if she didn't know she was wrong she would have sworn there was another powerful Faie, of some description, in the near vicinity.

"Can anyone pinpoint the exact date of birth of a god? I don't think anyone can, even us, it's just flat out impossible, I just took longer than some to get to god tier. That argument was pointless anyway, but I hope they'll get it. Because I honestly can't see Heamet see me and not be like: 'YOU TWATS STOP MEDDLING IN EARTH AFFAIRS.' Màen and Alrick will understand fast though, it's not like it was much to them. But since you haven't said when you'll give their weapons and various equipment back, I'll do it." He continued, floating in intangibility being at his usual human form.

"I don't see how anyone can fight Santa but I'll watch you, it's going to be fun, hopefully my hot coco won't disturb him."

I felt an impact on my shoulder, "And lie? fuck that, I don't feel like being tossed around like a ragdoll. Also punching titanium isn't the best treatment for your hands." I looked at the man who disabled the beacon, I nodded and put the muzzle of the gun at the chin of the tin man and fired three rounds, they'd bounce around within the helmet, leaving the brain a soupy mess. I roughly grabbed the arm of the man who approached us and called to Zara, "Let's get inside!"

Anathema
At the mention of not giving their equipment back I bristled, "I'm not that much of a dick." the jolly form of Santa came into view, Santa, an Elder god for the only reason of being present literally everywhere, had power over snow, ice, and cold, as such the area plunged into absolute zero, something that could 'kill' me quite easily, I teleported away roughly 200 miles, "Fucking Santa and his reverse entropy." Santa appeared in front of me, "Ho Ho Ho." I unsheathed the Knife of the Shatterpoint and threw it, it nicked Santa's arm and he promptly fell over, he was 'dead' at least until the fight was over, "Ho Ho Go fuck yourself fatty." The knife however decided to keep sailing through the air, such is the downside of having a knife with infinite mass. I began the search for Cthulhu now, ignoring the knife seeing as it would return to it's sheath in about an hour.

Stone raised an eyebrow, seeing gods battle like this always intrigued him, and it sure was a wonder how some gods could fight in those.
He could understand Cthulhu, he could understand Hastur or Ra fighting, Odin or Ares were normal, they had means to fight and manage it out, but Santa...

He just couldn't wrap his head around it.

"Well that escalated quickly. I wonder if I should participate in those events. It might be fun and not be at the same time." He still followed Anathema to get explanations.
After all, if he did want to participate, he'd have to know some of the basics.

Mr. Grin felt something. It dropped the bloodied corpse of a dead Cerberus soldier. It sniffed at the air.

It recognized the scent. It was unsure how it should proceed, so it waited near Clark.

Fox-1 stood over Tiger-5s mangled body. "What the hell is keeping him going?"

Zara's eyes narrowed, he had just executed a high value prisoner, annihilating one of their best chances at figuring out what the purpose of the attack was. And it was a war crime, or would have been were they at war, but that was not her concern at the moment. Was he a trojan horse in the organisation? He had also shot Kosa... but then again, why had he rescued her? That was the part that made no sense. Everything else she could pull into a coherent picture of a traitor. She paused for a long moment, then ran towards the House, sliding into the cover of the shattered portion of wall.

"You stay here, I'll see to Kosa. I have plenty of experience with battlefield medicine and you have the gun." she said firmly to Atlas. She also didn't want him anywhere near her leader until he had been properly security vetted.

"All units." she called into the radio, "Fall back to the House. I repeat, all units fall back to the house." It was technically Naunet's order to give, but Zara had no issue bucking the hierarchy when the hierarchy wasn't giving out orders.

Stone

"Oh shit I didn't warn her. Should I warn Laurel of what's going on with them? I mean, it's not like she'll see where they are or give his powers back out of nowhere.
Eh, I'll keep her from doing that. Oh well, off to have some fun then, going to limit my power and fight with them a bit, not doing much though, probably just speaking to Laurel though."
Stone spoke, teleporting away for a few minutes, which meant nothing in the realm they were in previously.

He popped out of nowhere, even more so than Heamet himself when he made portals.

"Heyo! How are you Laurel? I've heard lots from Alrick. You're the Fae right? I just came to say that my 'colleague' Anathema just nullified their powers for seven hours and they are stuck on an island for the same time span. Just thought you should know, we'll meet again after this though. Bye!" And with that, he left as quick as he came, the only proof he was there was the cup of hot coco and the piece of paper where he was standing that had something written on it.

From Stone, cheers. And don't die!

At 5'6'', Zara was not a small girl, though Atlas made her look like a midget, "See this from my perspective." she said calmly, though from the way she casually adjusted her stance it was clear she was prepared for Atlas to attack her, "You shot Watcher, you then checked in with Triglav to see how bad the injury was, then you shot a high value prisoner, now you want to go and take a look at Watcher."

I sighed, "He was useless for info, he was brainwashed to the point that he ignored a shattered humerus, and kept saying the same words over and over again. He was more brain dead than robo-cop, and as such probably wouldn't have given us anything." I shook Fox-1 a bit, "And I found a different 'informant'."

Zara stepped aside, "That was the right answer... but the wrong decision." she commented, "We have ways of extracting information from that kind of shattered mind. Were I in your position I might have also pulled the trigger, that thing was barely human... but a word of caution. Do not ever do anything like that where Kosa can see."

"I do not particularly want to end up fighting you, I do not want to end up like that man... but I would obey orders."

Nearby, Mr. Grin stalked through the forest, following the scent, his human companion on his back.

Fox-1 looked at Atlas in disgust. "You shot an unarmed, defensless opponent...." He dispised people like him.

I frowned even deeper, "You'd rather leave someone like that crippled and braindead?" Frost started to from in the hallway, "That wasn't a shattered mind that was a man without a mind, I've seen indoctrinated kids in the Congo who're forced to do heroin and raped, show more concern than that to their wounds and surroundings. What that was out there wasn't a man, it was a husk of a former person, and I ended his torment. We should probably find Kosa." The man in my grasp said something along the similar lines to what Zara said, I merely stayed silent.

"You're the reason people like me exist." he said quietly. He looked around the building, examining his surroundings.

Right about now, Creele was held in a Cerberus safe house.

I snorted, "And your colleagues the reason people like me are made." I noticed him looking around, "If you try running you'll find your knees rather loose."

"I'm not afraid of you."

It was true. He wasn't afraid of Atlas. But he was slightly afraid of Ms. Kosa. He didn't known how she would react if she recognized him. He had met her five years ago, under much different circumstances.

What the man said was something I'd heard quite a few times over my life, it was usually right before I tore their teeth out with a claw hammer, or hooked a car battery up to their crotch, "Honestly you should be afraid of someone like me."

Allies Headquarters

While Thunder and Guardian discussed their plans to confront the person taking down the Axis, Stealth decided that she needed some fresh air so she headed up to the roof of the mansion. She just sat there and could see Downtown San Diego in the distance. She liked the night, it was peaceful for her, when she wasn't out trying to kill everyone. The wind blew through her hair as she stared up at the stars.

I snorted, "No. Because the last person I had in your position, I decided to perform amateur circumcision with a 12 volt battery and jumper cables. I could be missing both my legs and be deaf and it'd still be smart to be afraid of me."
