Serah wrote:"Heamet, if I do pass on, which is doubtful- Wait no. Forget that. I just won't, I promise. I won't let my team die and neither will I. A bunch of tin can soldiers taking our attempts to save and rebuild the world as terrorism and considering us like war criminals won't get any mercy from me, the next time I see them, they'll get what's coming to them, just like Edge Lord before us. If they just come so close as trying to hurt any of you, I'll drop a couple dozen road rollers on them. Or maybe distort the dimension around them. Nah, Road roller. I want them to suffer. I won't kill them though, I'll keep them alive, no guarantee that I won't have some fun with them however." Alrick said, his tone growing darker at the mention of the Warhammer units.

"I know you won't. If you did, I wouldn't be there, unless you already have a descendant coming, which I highly doubt you have at the moment. But if you came so close to death, know that I won't control myself either. Former Aegis or not." Heamet spoke, his cheery tone growing slightly angrier but quickly going back to what it was.
"No one we care about will die on our watch, that's what Lios said a couple hundred years ago. It became famous in my day, actually we're considered as very high members of society. Nobles if you will, that's what Lios hoped to achieve. Get his family on a higher social sphere."

"I do remember saying that, and it still is true today. No one I care about will die on my watch. As one of the first Metas in history, they'll know what three hundred years of nonexistence can bring." Lios spoke, slowly and smirking.
"They'll see what messing with the Lareylis bloodline can bring."

"Cheech and Chong!" Alice called, "Get in the car... also try to remember who I am. Excessive cruelty is the weapon of the people we are supposed to be opposing. If you employ it, you are no more than them. We need people to respect Meta-humans if we don't want to be hunted.
There are far too many people abusing their powers, fueling the public's fear of us. If we want to survive, we need to sharpen up our act."

"Will you stop calling us that? At worst call us Al and Bloodlad but not Cheech and Chong, this sounds like an extremely bad sitcom."
The both of them said in unison with high levels of dismay, however Alrick frowned at her mention of extreme cruelty.

"Well, I won't argue on such a point with you since you won't change your mind, but I'm just warning and if needed, Lios will knock me out and take over. You know that incident with the nanites back in the Bunker? Yeah, he took over, I was about to go postal. But the thing is, the normies feel like THEY are the ones being hunted, they just think it's self defense that they attack us on sight because we've somehow hurt them in the past. In all technicality, we did, but those were other people. Heck Beowulf, that Nordic king, I'm absolutely sure he had something mystic going on. Same goes for Achilles."
Alrick put down his hypothesis about past history and tried to explain his sudden changes in mood as he never truly explained them.

"I said 'excessive cruelty' Harvey... but maybe I am a bit naive." Alice growled at the darkness, "I have said many times and I will say it again, I will not kill except as a last resort. If you're looking for someone who revels in the death of their opponents then you have the wrong woman - I do not need any more blood on my conscience and will always regret the circumstances that bring me to such a decision. For all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword."

"'Precisely my point." Alice said, looking slightly less stressed, "That is why I've spent the past few years doing everything in my power to convince the Muggles that we aren't going to kill them for no reason."

"Yes, but you can't deny that someone such as me, who is way more hot blooded than you are, will have trouble stopping himself for giving his enemy that hurt his family and allies a truly painful and agonizing death. Albeit I know I can hold myself pretty well and in the worst case scenario, knock myself out literally and have the other take over. Anyway, where are we going mister assassin gun guy?" Alrick complied, but still gave arguments that were fairly valid considering his personality.

Alice gave a throaty laugh, "You think I don't get angry? I really do... but I rule my emotions, I do not allow them to rule me."

She paused for a moment, then twisted in her seat, "Hey Alrick, you can teleport in one form or another can you not? What do you say to doing a bit of summoning. It needs to be somewhere with water, as still as possible; and trees, the older the better. If you think you can get to a place like that, it would be helpful if you could summon Laurel. I'll give you the instructions she gave me if you think you can do it."

"Black Forest? That is perfect." Alice nodded in approval of the choice of summoning location, "Remember the still water. Go up to the edge of the water, say her true name, which is 'leaves of the laurel tree in summer's splendor, daughter of Alaunus the healing wellspring'. Then say something along the lines of 'I summon thee' or 'get over here'. Then you need to do something to give energy to the water body. She recommended a drop of blood in the water. If it works, expect fog to come rolling off the water. Don't forget, you need to get the name word perfect or she won't hear you and you might end up summoning some other bizarre creature from Elphame which is significantly less friendly."

"That all? Laurel is like lol, I have the hugest name ever since the roman emperor Ceasar gladius pepus imperatus julius rulius delavega. Or Ceasar for short. Nah just kidding, I knew her name, she told me what it was five years ago for a random reason I don't remember. Also, oh what joy those creatures will be bringing! I can summon a giant humanoid cockroach from outer Alfheim space just for the johj! Woohoo. So, recap, I say her full name which is Leaves of the Laurel tree in summer's splendor, daughter of Alaunus the healing wellspring with a scottish accent, manage to pull out a Scorpion by saying GET OVER HERE and get her back here, correct?" Alrick responded with dangerously high levels of sarcasm.

"Grandpa, stop the sarcasm, it's getting physically painful." Heamet said, holding shaking his head and smiling painfully.

"Oh, by the way before I go, I did go back to Chernobyl. My name is still there, can't believe they've never seen it." Alrick grinned at the thought and laughed out loud.

"Alrick" Alice raised a cool eyebrow, "It's time for you to grow up. You're not a teenager anymore. Do it, or don't do it, I don't particularly care."

"Okay okay, geez, a joke Alice. Even Laurel takes the jokes. But I guess I shouldn't really talk, I know I'm immortal and shit, or at least until someone uses carbonadium on me. And then, and only then will I start getting serious, otherwise, never. Except for reasons that I've stated before." Alrick spoke, disappearing through the through the portal.

"Aaah... I'm sorry he's still like that after five years... Please pardon him, I'll get Lios to hit him over the head a bit." Heamet said, lightly embarrassed at Alrick's behavior.
"But after all, he's right, Alrick is the second and with me third person to be physically immortal and quite powerful at that, being dead serious and immortal isn't a combination that is really good until you've gone past your fifth hundred year of existence and not even Lios has passed through that. However, on the inside, Alrick truly does care, he just doesn't want to grow and live up to his age and general maturity, for him, it's useless. He's just a joker that fools around to make every person he cares about laugh and smile. Then again, that personality of his is pretty hard to live with, I can't say I envy Laurel too much." He continued, still embarrassed.
"And yes, he'll summon her alone. I need to stay on this side of the portal so it doesn't close on him"

Black Forest, Germany

'So... Doop dee doop dee doop... Ah! Water! Good! Let's hope we don't end up meeting slenderman. Another useless folkloric tale gone because of me if that's so.' Alrick thought.
'Okay, so, concentrate...'
He concentrated, more than he ever would and started to glow with a blue light.

'Bon, maintenant... Invocation.'

"Leaves of the Laurel tree in summer's splendor, daughter of Alaunus the healing wellspring..." He used a pocket knife to slice the palm of his hand and let out a small droplet of blood in the water.
"I summon thee from the depths of Alfheim."

'Maybe I shouldn't have put dephts of Alfheim. Oh well.'

"He's summoning another immortal." Alice pointed out, "And, as much as I like her, Faie are moody and dangerous. You don't want to slight them by screwing around with the rituals they design." she shrugged, "Anyway, you know me Heamat, I chewed him out because I care about him and I worry where his behavior will lead him. He doesn't care about how other people feel, he flies off the handle into killing rampages and he bullies you constantly. He is at the start of a dark road and I want to steer him away from it."

"If he ends up on that road." she said quite seriously, though it was clear from her expression that the thought was painful to her, "I will take the field with a whole arsenal of carbonadium weaponry. And because I know what Alrick is capable of, of how many innocent people he could hurt if he loses control, I won't be taking prisoners." she grimaced slightly, "I know you've only seen me as a pseudo-pacifist, but I am quite capable of killing without hesitation or mercy. I just really, really, don't want to have to do that. Not to someone I know, who I've fought alongside. It would break me."

__________

Meanwhile in the Black Forest there was a trickle of mist that rose off the lake, not really enough to hide a portal to Elphame though. There was a long pause, long enough for Alrick to start to think it hadn't worked... "I usually pronounce it 'Elphame', I've always had a greater affinity for the Celtic peoples." a familiar, somewhat amused, sounding voice said from surprisingly close behind him.

"Hello Alrick." Laurel said. She was seated on a rock not six feet behind him. She was wearing the familiar bronze scaled vest over a crimson tunic that came to mid-thigh, bronze vambraces and greaves above roman style sandals. Her customary spatha and Webley service revolver were belted at her waist, "I'm assuming Alice gave you that little ritual. It's fun isn't it! I was thinking of adding a dancing step or maybe a burnt offering. What do you think?"

"So how is the world ending this time?" she asked, her blue eyes, human shaped at the moment, fixed of Alrick, "I'm guessing Alice wouldn't have given you that information if you wanted to show me what a 'video game' is, though I have to admit I'm curious."

Black Forest, Germany

"What, you designed this? So I just could've gone like: Yo, the world's ending we need your help please. And it would've worked? Seriously... But it would seem my survival has averted most of the catastrophe from the astral realm breaking upon Midgard. So I'll show you video games and stuff, but not now, I've already been sacked by Alice by making a joke at an unfortunate moment so, yeah, not the time for any type of games. Quick summary, after Aegis got 'disbanded' everyone went their own merry way, a few days ago, mister Batman-Black-Hand-Neo-Jesus-Survivor of the apocalypse just came back from the dead because Deus Ex Machina, then, some random dude dressed in a Polish uniform attacked with his meta powers a Russian facility, bringing a nuclear holocaust in about eight days, and we're the only ones that can help because some idiots back at the UN are thinking that Iron mountain and eveyone affiliated with Godkiller five years ago is a war criminal and we're basically all getting hunted, but plot twist, my death was supposed to be the first publicized for the apocalypse, so I averted a lot of stuff by leaving to get toast early and now this brings me back where I just summoned you and we're going to meet a friend of Alice's boyfriend. You know, the one that got his shit beaten by metal guy back when Godkiller ended. Yeah." Alrick explained, making a summary to the best of his abilities.
"So now, we both need to get back to the portal a bit back in the forest to join them. But before that, I'm glad to see you again, it's been a while, Laurel. But there's something I need to do, fucking parasite in my own arm... One, two... THREE!" Ripping off his own right arm in an sudden pool of blood, he stood stoically, not even trembling and remade his whole arm with ectoplasm and various mechanics Heamet had given him, giving him new overall strength and abilities, as he picked up the sleeve of his clothing from his now dead and gone to cinders arm, he looked at Laurel.

"What? Can't one rip off his own arm to not get infected with some random disgusting worm that came from the astral plane? I mean, that's normal behavior. I think. Eh, whatever, did that disturb you? Shit I got my sleeve all bloody. I'll have to wash it AND sew it back on... Bloody hell. Anyways, how have you been doing?"

"What might you mean bullying me? Right now he's like my dead brother, antagonizing but always meaning good, he's not going on the dark path you're talking about, he's going down his own path and as he said, he's got Lios to keep him in line. Otherwise, you wouldn't even have known him now, heck, he just might not have passed the age of fifteen. Lios always keeps him in line. No matter how hard we three antagonize each other, tease each other, we're family. We wouldn't bring ourselves to truly hurt one of us. It's not our style." Heamet explained, growing slightly defensive over his grandfather.

"But I'll join you on that, if even Lios can't keep him in the green/yellow zone, then I'll step in. Carbonadium or not. Our powers negate each other, we've discovered that, but that means ALL of our powers. If we end up clashing... It's highly likely that we'll all die, Lios, me and him alike."

Ulrich drove out of the small garage. "We should be there in 20 minutes. Don't worry about the doctor, he's a good guy." He drove out of the airport.

Kansas, United States
Slayer
a Deathshead small fighter, cloaked, lands quietly lands in a barren clearing in the open farmland. Slayer disengages the piloting mode and sits back, "great, near the last quarter of my power, ah well. TIme to see what this contract is". Slayer gets up from his piloting chair and walks over to a computer terminal at the side ofthe fighter, he inserts the holodisk and waits, ["You have accepted the Bounty by the Tatarian Regime to Accept a hgih risk but Large Pay off bounty. you will be assigned to assassinate a powerful group on the Planet known as 'earth', this group refers to themselves as 'The United Nations', report back to the Tartarian officer 'Glencor Malice' to recieve your payment once the job is done"]. Slayer thought for a moment, "Who the hell are the United Nations? gods damn, well, I'll have to do some scoping around". Slayer set the ship to Power conservation, aswell as solar regeneration, and set the cloaking device to auto. Slayer took a few steps out of his ship, then looked around. "I saw a populated area not far from here, I'll go interrogate some fo the Locals". Slayer turned to what was a small town in the distance and jet packed off.

GateKeeper Azeal
Azeal zapped down to earth, he was on an unregistered mission. Azeal usualy followed orders, listened to what his superiors told him and followed through under the guidance of heaven. This time it was diffrent, Azeal had recieved Visions of comign events, events of darkness, death, betrayal, and detsruction on earth. Azeal looked around, he had Zapped down to a small town in Nevada, he looked around and approached a pedestrian. "You, what city am i in?" the man looked confused, "you're in searchlight.....Nevada" 'Thank you for your cooperation, please carry on with your routine activities". Azeal knew that these visions were of a coming Darkness, the only reason he decided to go off the record and come to earth was to Find a man who had previously halted a great Darkness, he was looking for Black Hand. Azeal used his Unearthly holy powers to try and sense Black Hand, Black Hand had been given a new facial appearance by heaven, meaning that there was a tracable factor wihtin him. Azeal saw he was in a hidden safehouse like building in the back more parts of Searchlight. Azeal walked over to the Safehouse, he walked up to the windowless, metal/wood door. 'Black Hand is in here?" Azeal knocked on the door, and waited for someone to answer.

"You know they have all kinds of treatments for parasites these days that don't involve physically dismembering yourself." Laurel remarked dryly. The display didn't seem to have phased her in the slightest.

She paused, frowned, "And why would I ever create a ritual that started with 'yo'. Where is the theater in that? If you humans want to call me to this world then I at least want to know that you care enough to make an effort - When you take a girl out for a date you take her somewhere nice, you don't take her to a street vendor selling dubious kebabs."

"Anyway... I have been as I always am. I dance, I feast, I hunt..." she motioned at her current clothing, "Which is what I was doing when you summoned me. Have you ever had a pair of Caligae? They are very comfortable."

Alice nodded to Heamet but left it at that. Letting the car drive them on towards their destination.

I heard the knock at the door, I motioned for Black and Anna to remain silent. I grabbed my halberd and walked up to the door, the figure who knocked was holy, more so than a priest or nun, it seemed like an angel was on the other side of the door. I opened it and gazed down upon an angel, judging by his attire he's high up on the food chain, "Shit's gotten that bad?"

"Ehm, I don't think they would've had anything for Astral parasites. They suck out your life force. But eh, it's not like it didn't bring any advantages. I mean, I do have a magic/mechanical arm. Which is, let's say it, absolutely awesome. But anyway, yeah, I understand your point of view but it was merely overly comedic, you know, comic relief. That's what I am. A comic relief. And of course I wouldn't take any girl to a backstreet vendor for kebabs. One, kebabs are to eat for yourself and two, it just isn't cool, heck even cinema or something extremely cheesy like a magic show would be way better. Also, what are Caligae? No idea what they are. I'm guessing some kind of shoes? But we digress, we need to get back to Alice and Heamet. I'll have to take you somewhere one of these days if we ever get free time. Or maybe I'll just come visit you in Alfheim." Alrick spoke, unfazed by her remarks, after all, he did the very same to everyone as well.
"The portal's over there. Hopefully we'll get there before the nuclear holocaust starts getting on our faces. If not, well that'll mean I'll have to start my little vacation in Alfheim a little sooner."
Walking towards the portal, his heartbeat slightly accelerated.
"Do you know about Jojo's bizarre adventure? I don't believe I've explained that to you yet. I'll give you one of the books or I'll just let you see the anime, it's up to part five now. And I think part eight in the books is about to be finished. At least it feels like it. Never know when Araki will put some plot twistery."

The car stopped in a small alleyway, and stepped outside. He approached a metal door, and slammed his fist against it. The door opened, and he held it open for Alice. "The old doctor is inside. Don't worry about him."

The old doctor walked with a cane. His eyes had been replaced with two robotic ones. He had a smile on his face when he saw Ulrich. "If it isn't my greatest achievement, walking through my door! How are you, Ulrich?"

Azeal walked in and approached Black Hand, "Azeal?" Black Hand asked as he stood up, "Leonard, I've been having visions of comign Darkness, Destruction, Terror, and Death. and worst of all is heaven has been leaving most of the Angels in the dark about it, i came yo u-" "Wait wait, slow down. first, Visions?" "Yes, me and many other angels have been experiencing Visions and Dreams forshadowing a coming.....well, Dark Times, i'm afraid it may be the end" "really? well then, next, Heaven is doing what?. "I can't sya for certain, but everytime we address it with the archangels or any other high ranking official they say it's 'under control'" "Well thats......concerning, wait, why come to me and not Atlas or Hussar?" "I don't actually know who either of those two are, besides, from what I've gathered you stopped a Dark Deity, you've got a pretty good skill against these kinds of things". "Well Atlas is the Dark Angel" Blakc Hand pointed to Atlas, Azeal turned to Atlas, "My apologies, i was unaware Dark Angel". Black Hand thought about what Azeal just said, "So Atlas, what do you think, considering the bit of exposition that was just given to us?".

Well, I guess it's better than Warhammer units. Those are the name of the idiots hunting us." Alrick peeked slightly through the portal, letting only head appear and vaguely seeing the doctor before going back inside.

"So yeah, ready to be hunted by absolute retards and save the world again?" He extended his hand towards her in a gentlemanly manner despite his words.

Slayer

Slayer jetpacked onto the roof of the small town, it was evening, but there were still people out and about. "Which one of these natives would know who the UN are?" Slayer looked around and saw a man in a suit closing the door behind a building and walkign down the alley. "Target locked" Slayer shot his grappel and propelled himself twoards the man, Slayer activated the jetpack about halfway twoards the man and grabbed him by the back of the head. Slayer put a hand over his mouth and jetted up to the roof of the building. Slayer grabbed the man by his leg and hung him upside down off of the roof, "JESUS DONT KILL ME" "Who and what are the united nations" "I don't know, some group of international nations?!" "Since you're obviously an idiotic native, tell me where i can recieve more information on them, Talk! or I'll spill your guts on the ground!" "Okay, Okay! I'd check the library, we're standing ontop of it!". Slayer looked down to see he was on this "Library" the natives spoke of, "Thank you for your compliance". Slayer erected one of his wrist blades and stuck it near the Man's throat, "But i cannot let you live" "wai-" before the man could plead, Slayer slit his throat, causing a large amoutn of blood to spill out, he then dropped him into the Dumpster underneath, the lid closed shut from the rumble.

"Now to inspect this...."Library" they speak of" Slayer walked over to a large vent on the roof and grabbed the edge of the grate, he pulled it off and threw it aside, then climbed inside the vent, leading into the building.

I rasied an eyebrow behind my helmet, and stood to the side to allow the angel to pass, if he's old enough not to understand something it took Hussar 30 seconds to figure out, than things must've gotten bad.

GateKeeper Azeal

"Your a bit... late, Azeal, me and Hussar have known for nearly 16 years, granted we didn't make sense of it until about a week ago, but 1 of the 8 protectors is already dead, and 2 others are being hunted down at the moment." The news channel started a segment on the war in Europe, "and considering Russia's invading most of europe isn't helping either."

Situation in Europe, No character just a summary.
  • Russian forces have occupied Instanbul, and Turkey's northern coast.
