A cell of the NAS called National Automobile Transportation Agency(NATA) has been working on ways to design a vehicle that's design is to hopefully increase transportation, speed, and general efficiency.

They unveil to the world the Design-R12 most commonly called by the D12 by NATA engineers. D12

This vehicle has been with cost effectiveness in mind as to aid the general populace. Pictures are taken, along with some film as to show neighboring countries how efficient it is, as to lead the world into a new age of mobility. The first models being sold in the RUT.

Eisenland also prizes its rail network, as a source of national pride and also public transport. The networks and train cars are of the most modern make, connecting cities from the Baltik to Luxembourg, and south into the Alphine Confederation. This also serves a double purpose, as in wartime, trains will be used to rapidly field the Eisenlander Army.

Some are intruiged by other, seemingly unrealistic modes of transport - a wealthy inventor, Ferdinanda von Zeppelin, uses her wealth to invest in an experimental design of 'flying ship.' Designs are finalized, and she prepares to test the outlandish craft, which could make guided travel in the skies a possibility.

Counter to the lack of interest garnered by the automobile, extreme attention is placed upon this new 'Zeppelin' vehicle. Prominent manufacturing groups begin to put money into the Countess's project to advance it yet even more to be able to produce them en-masse.

The government waits to see the result of further testing before investing in the design, but groups in Eisenland provide large amounts of money to aid the project, including the military manufacturing giant Krupp.

The countess patents the design, and begins working on an improved, second experimental craft.

The second zeppelin, LZ-2, is tested with success. The Eisenlander public hails Countess Zeppelin as a national hero, for her role in inventing a new machine that could be used for both civil, but also military, purposes.

A similar position among the public is held in the Confederation, the people enthralled with the concept of floating high in the sky.

The Eisenlanders are thankful for the gratitude, and in an event of detente, invite people from all nations to ride aboard the zeppelins once the first civilian models enter service.

LZ-3, the third experimental model, is tested with great success. Another experimental model follows, LZ-4, though it is destroyed in a storm after the maiden voyage. This event is used to better design the zeppelins, and avoid accidents.
