The empire once again turns its attention to expanding infrastructure and literacy across its land while continuing its push into western China.

The expansion is coming along nicely but soldiers are unaware of RUT influence in the region. In Tusnia Vukmire begins to work on its first modern steam battleship.

To give its troops the benefit of a melee weapon, Togeria models a short sword of the katana. Aiding its infantry in close-quarters combat, as well as bringing in former generals from the otherside of the empire to better the men's melee combat capabilities.

In the Western Sahara, RUT give the forces artillery, and several arms, as well as organizing their forces.

Eisenland continues to develop the economies of its colonies, focusing primarily on exports to Eisenlander, though some basic industry is established in the colonies.

Eisenland uses sword bayonets as its own melee weapon, attached to its bolt-action rifles and designed to be thrust into the enemy's flesh from a range.

The Alpine Confederation issues Broadswords to all officers and similar bayonets as those used in Eisenland to be issued to the infantryman.

Additionally, 'Stahlhelms' are issued to the elite units that have been given the Infanterie-Panzers, with an extra Stirnpanzer attachment which will be used as well. Plans are made for the rest of the army to be issued them as well, but lacking the stirnpanzer. This will occur once they are in large supply and all elite units have been equipped. For now, typical infantrymen will remain without armor.

Vukmire so far controls the eastern part of the great Sahara desert and the north of western Sahara.

Eisenland keeps its pickelhaube in service. With its massive steel production, it issues metal pickelhaubes in favor of hardened leather - it provides a similar function to the stahlhelm, only with the intimidating spike still in place; adding to the imperial grandeur achieved when mobilized.

UM modifies its repeater rifles to be more effective in combat, possible firing speed increased and an addition of a medium sized bayonet.

RUT trains sharpshooting units in Africa, having them perform hit and run attacks on camel riders, or move to rush groups of riders before retreating.

Likewise, Eisenlander officers are sent to advise Vukmiri troops in the Sahara, aiding in their campaign. They accuse the RUT of arming local defenders, seeking to antagonize world politics.

The Alpine Confederation sends weapons to the Vukmiri troops to aid them, consisting of Reichsrevolvers, MG 08s, and Mauser copies, as well as old, surplus weapons like Dreyse needle rifles and gatling guns.

The reasoning behind this is partly to support their alliance with Eisenland, and partly to see how their weapons work on in battle-field testing.

Trade routes are set down inbetween UM africa and the mainland, where more industrial resources are aquired from the colony and are sent to the mainland.

Eisenland continues to build up its Schutztruppe, the forces by now rivaling the main infantry in training and discipline, although armed with older Dreyse needle guns and Gatling guns for now. The Eisenlander industry pours out MG08s and Gewehr 71s, being transported on ships for the colonies, protected by cruiser forces serving abroad.

The Sultan is completely outraged of these attempts of RUT and claims if they do not back off soon enough the consequences will be dire and deadly. Soldiers constantly patrol with updated gear as well as three new ship ports have opened up and now begin to produce even more ships.

Eisenland reports the tragic death of Kaiserin Liesel, at the young age of 52. Mourning ceremonies are held across the nation in honor of her, having built Eisenland into a global power.

RUT responds by expanding southward into Mauritana, telling stories of Vukmiri occupation to gain support. They send in troops to train Western Saharan troops in hand-to-hand, as well as giving them the new short-sword.

Kaiserin Lillian overrides the Chancellor in support for Vukmire's response, stating that they have a right to defend their own territory.
