Joel had been pedaling for the better part of a day, his legs were aching and the his rear end had lost most feeling. The only good thing he could think that would be any good news was that he hadn't seen any infected. There was also a food problem, already Joel had eaten two of the bags of chips, most of his meager supply of food. So he put his bike on the side walk and began to look for a gas station or a store.

It was nearly sundown by the time he found a gas station, a mom and pop place by the look of it. It looked relatively un-looted and the door was unlocked.

"Hello?" Joel's own voice sounded strange and alien to him. There was no answer but something moved in the shadows in the back of the store.

Inhale. Pull back on the mechanism, hear the satisfying 'clickety-click- as the parts move into place. Push forward, locking in a shell. Exhale, empty the lungs. Waste no movement, conserve energy. Judge the wind, the air, gravity-

BTOOM!

Perhaps not as flashy or as extravagant as a real rifle, much less a military-grade one, but it will do. Chicago is no place for shock and awe tactics, either way. A muffled gunshot rings out, barely audible, and within moments a pale-skinned infected knows what it's like to be missing a head. "One." A voice. Clipped, calm. Efficient, above all else. Inhale, cock, exhale, aim.

BTOOM! SQUELCH!

"Two." A cycle Will knows well. One that he'll repeat. A flicker, in the corner of his eye. "People. Uninfected. Three of them." He cocks an eyebrow under his mask, indicating minor surprise. "Huh. That's rare." Shrugging, he turns, aligning the barrel of his rifle with the nearest undead. "Might as well help out." Under his mask, he smirks, placing his finger delicately on the trigger. "Now, then..." Inhale. Cock. Exhale. Aim. "Let's try for three." Fire.

BTOOM! SQUELCH!

Vianna looked around confused, "gunshots?" She jumped down and ran to the nearest car, lucky her, the door was on the ground, taken off "good for me..." She grinned, picking up the vehicle's door, using it as a shield ".... I'm onto this person..." She said walking back to the house, staying outside

Jonah was back inside of the garage with her hands grasping her head.

"Damnit, who does someone have to fire off a gun. The infected are swarming though so it may be a good opportunity to kill them I guess."

Jonah grabbed her Crossbow, a handful of bolts, and an ax made of a shortened broom handle and a broken bicycle gear. The entirety of the ax was reinforced by metal sheets that ran the length of the handle with duct tape at the bottom. Made her way to the garages roof again and began to pick off infected from a same distance.

Edited: I forgot to mention what she did.

Charlotte was merely wandering, staying on the lookout for infected. She couldn't survive on her own much longer--she had to find somebody, quickly. She heard gunshots, and followed the noise, seeing a man with a gun--and a girl with a... car door?

Jonah was still picking off the some of the stragglers when she noticed that girl from before and who appeared to be a friend run over to the garage. Jonah stopped firing and made her way to he barricade which she moved to allow them to fit through again.

"Why didn't you keep the car door," exclaimed Jonah, with slightly more care for the door than the two living breathing organics that ran towards her humble home, "why do I bother helping these people, I hope I'm not creating a conscience."

Darn, she saw through it. Well, this one should work... Without any hesitation she said(sounding quite sincere), "Sorry, I wasn't sure I could trust you. My real name's Marie. It's nice to meet you. Well, under better circumstances it might be nice, but now... well, now it's just helpful." (She had become quite good at sounding truthful.)

BTOOM! Click-Click!

Will hefts his rifle. "That should be most of 'em. Right." He rises, stretching and hearing his limbs creak. He had been lying prone for a while, picking off infected for a good few hours now. The rifle is silenced, of course- No sense drawing more attention than is needed. He adjusts his mask, making sure it's on securely. "Don't need him joining in for now. Too naive. Too inefficient." He mutters, taking a relatively long but secure route down from his perch atop an abandoned chapel.

Approaching the group cautiously, Will waves, parting his cloak to subtly indicate that he's still armed. His trusty silenced P99 lies holstered at his hip, ready to be drawn. "Hey." He greets, giving the group a nod as he walks towards them. "I see you've got a group going. I was thinking of joining your little 'party'." An attempt to settle them down, put them at ease. If tensions are high, progress is hindered. Efficiency is hindered. Thus, his first objective is to ease in.

Jonah was getting annoyed by all of the firearms she was seeing.

"Well I'm not part of this whole 'group' thing," said Jonah, a fine of annoyance was in her voice, "I'm only interested in the improvised weapons that can be made and I only bother to let people near me so I can check out their weapons. If you want some, I'll give you some, but keep me out of it."

"Thanks!" Jonah's eyes light up and began to shift her attention away from the group. She motioned for all three of them to enter the room and began work on the car door, turning it into a shield.

"I don't have much use for a shield so when I'm done, I'll let you keep it. Also, since I'm such a nice soul and I want to give you three an incentive to leave me be, feel free to take weapon you like. But don't take my nail gun, crowbar, wielders, and other actual tools."

Chicago Projects

To add to the overall bleak feeling at the projects, was the cloudiness and overall darkness of the whole day, as well as the hordes of infected roaming the streets in search for flesh.

Eric had first saw the traveller roll into the area on his Pickup truck, examining his stockpile of armaments and food strapped to the back of his vehicle. He hadn't cut off his engine at first, which attracted a good 12 infected in the area, attracted by the noise. Immediately, Eric had to see this as a threat to his safety, and, therefore, saw the man as a threat to everyone's safety.

Normally, if he dealt with vehicles, he'd strap a grenade to a makeshift spear and toss it into the vehicle, but not now. An explosion of that size would attract the entire city, not to mention he had to deal with putting the fire out at some point.

So, dealing with the driver was his second best bet. He waited until the man was out in the open, before he lobbed his spear down at him. The following "GARGGH!" And gurgling noises knew that he had a direct hit on his side.

Pulling his hoodie up over his head, Eric vaulted from the roof and landed on the trampoline he had dragged out from someone's yard and placed at the bottom of the building. As he sprinted through the crowds of crowding infected, he yanked the spear out from the man's side, watching as blood poured from the open wound in his side. "Sorry man."

The traveller let out an ear-splitting shriek as she breathed her last breath, as Eric plunged the spear directly into her face.

After crossing about 4 city blocks of urban jungle, it was around 2 or 3 in the afternoon. The skies looked grey, 'Another rain shower perhaps?' he thought to himself. The gunfire was plentiful in this area, however unlike the other areas, these discharges seamed planned, with a purpose, and not panicked or desperate shots in the dark. The urban sprawl did good to muffle gun shots, it still attracted every one of them in the immediate vicinity, but it wouldn't attract the hoard a few blocks away. Connor had a few places of interest to visit, namely a hardware store, and a camping store, while the camping store was probably looted, people would of searched with haste, probably missing,or not having enough time to take everything, while the hardware store would probably be more intact, as survivors on the go probably wouldn't haul wood beams with them, or heavy metal sheeting, and what not. He made for the Hardware store first, it was closer by half a block.

Daniel heard gunshots, he was walked away, not really caring, suddenly a bullet veered past his nose, barely missing his face. He jumped behind a trash can, quickly loading his M1911. He walked back to the two girls, noticing a new girl. "Okay, seriously. What the fuck?!" He was pissed. "I'm kind to you, allow you to swat me of my weapons, but then you shoot at me?!" (Unaware she only has a crossbow.)
