Not the Sahara, the Saraha is hilly and with finite sand that easily can get stuck in the tracks. Also, with frequent sand storms the tanks would have severe engine problems due to sand coming through the intake and mixing with the air and fuel in the cylinders, not a good thing.

I'm just stupid is all and I keep making mistakes because of it. I'd quit out of embarrassment, but that would leave Mars all alone, which would be a mean thing to do.

But he's the best general I have even though he's from the 1700's, what if I were to make it realistic?

Prepare for some Hardcore BS...

Indeed, they also spoke a dialect of Ancient Gaelic called Beamiupii which is where the famous Star Trek line comes from. Since Scotty was IRL an Scott with long time Scottish ancestry this was his cultural inside joke which the director approved after it already sounded similar to their original idea which would've been "Send me up, Scotty." Thank god they didn't do that though since the YouTube now has a special search response if you type it into their browse bar. If that hadn't happened than their latest update may have not worked since they use Python coding which makes each interval of code intertwine and rely on one another, in away the ancient Celts influence modern social media in that way. Funny huh?
