Generic Info
Nation Name: The Republic of China
Symbols:
Location: Mainland China, with the larger population centers.
Homeland Population: 600,000,000
Imperial Population: 600,000,000
Capital City: Nanking

Government Info
Government Type: Right-wing Multi-Party Republic with military influence.
Brief Explanation of Government: The government is officially a multi-party republic, but this was largely ignored by the Kuomintang who formed a de facto single-party state until the Constitutional Convention. This lead to the establishment of a real democratic government, but it still angered the Communists. Seeing continued corruption and petty disputes among his staffer, Chiang suspended the constitution and led a series of government purges that eliminated much of the corruption but forever isolated the Western warlords. Now it is immediately following the purges, and it remains to be seen of Chiang will hold by the earlier promises of democratization.
Ideology:
  • Chinese Nationalism
  • Anti-communism
  • Capitalism
  • Corporatism
Leader/s:
  • Head of State: Chiang Kei-shek
  • Head of Government: Chiang Kai-shek
Population Info
Brief Description of your people: While intending to form a nation of five races, the breakup of China, civil war, and independence of the warlord states means the vast majority of the Republic's population are Han Chinese. The vast majority are poor, rural farmers with a growing industrial middle-class. The elite, usually coming from rich aristocrats, military officers, and ex-warlords has been declining in exclusivity following Chiang's purges.
Religion: Most of the population follows traditional Chinese religions, but Christianity is popular among the ruling elite and is growing in the general population as a result.
Ethnicity: Chinese
Main/Accepted Culture(s): Han Chinese
Other Cultures: Hui Chinese Muslim, Miao-Yao, Tai, Tibeto-Burman.

Military Info
Army: National Revolutionary Army - 12,000,000 active soldiers. Largely conscripts with poor training.
Navy: National Revolutionary Navy - 30,000 sailors, poor quality ships.

Other Info
Faction/Sphere: Non-Aligned
Brief Description of your Economy: While in theory a capitalist mixed-market, the government has been continually seizing more and more property. The Second Sino-Japanese War forced the government to take over a plethora of industries and finance sectors to fight the war. Now, Chiang has been liberalizing the economy to bring in foreign investment and reduce corruption. Some industries are still government controlled, while a worrying infusion of government and corporation is being created elsewhere.
Goals:
  • Unification of China
  • Westernization
  • Industrialization
  • Democratization
History: Following the fall of Japan, the ROC and PRC immediately resumed hostilities in the civil war. As the conflict was mostly left to isolated territory in the north, the rest of mainland China was allowed peace to mourn and grieve over the many dead. As the conflict in the north continued, Chiang recognized mainland needed protection to recover from the war. Following this, he retreated from Manchuria and Mongolia, letting the Communists take over, in order to pacify the population in the mainland and Taiwan. The western warlords nominally accepted ROC authority but in reality still ruled their provinces as petty fiefdoms.

As time went on, the government control of the economy led to increased corruption and formation of an oligarchy. The repression and ineptitude spread the popularity of Communism and put the entirety of China at risk to red incursion. To try and seek conciliation with the Communists, a Constitutional Convention was called. It established an official civilian government, including control over the military, while also allowing multiple parties to form. Angry at the prospect of losing popularity among the masses, the Communists rejected this and resumed the civil war. With no recourse, Chiang, who was elected President, suspended the Constitution and began mass purges of corrupt officials. The Western warlords declared independence, but Chiang ignored them and focused on clearing out the ruling elite in the ROC. Now, with all his enemies purged as well as the corrupt officers, Chiang stands at the forefront of a new China where his vision is absolute.

Generic Info
Nation Name: Spanish State (Esp: Estado Español)
More commonly known as "Spain" (Esp: España)
Symbols: Bandera Española, Escudo Español, Himno Español
Location: 41
Homeland Population: 28,536,000
Imperial Population: ca. 1.4 million
Capital City: Madrid

Government Info
Government Type: Autocratic authoritarian single-party military dictatorship
Ideology: Authoritarianism, Autocracy, Economic Autarky, Neutrality, Imperialism, Conservatism, Christian state
Leader/s: Caudillo de España Francisco Franco

Population Info
Brief Description of your people: The Spanish people have a very individual and marked culture that separates them from the rest of Europe. Spain is a diverse country that harbours various ethnicities, most notably the Castilian and the Catalan ethnicities. Spanish cuisine is unique in its colour and flavour, and events such as Toreadas have popularised Spanish culture throughout the globe. Furthermore, both being currently the most popular tourist destination in Europe and fathering most of the countries in Latin America also popularise Spanish culture.
Religion: Mostly Catholic
Ethnicity: Spanish
Main/Accepted Culture(s): Andalusian, Asturian, Castilian, Galician
Other Cultures: Aragonese, Basque, Catalan, Valencian

Military Info
Army: The Army (Ejército de Tierra) is the land forces of the Spanish Armed Forces (Fuerzas Armadas Nacionales; FAN). It is a small force in relation to the massive armies marshalled by countries such as Germany, the USSR and the United States. Nevertheless, it is sufficient for the task of maintaining Spain's territorial integrity and ascertaining that Germany and its puppets would not attempt to expand into Spain through the passes in the Pyrenees. The Armies are led by Franco himself, who is the Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces as Caudillo de España.

Active Armies
Total: 233,000 Active; 690,000 Reserve.
  1. Ejército de Vasconia (60,000); Pamplona
  2. Ejército Superior de Castilla (60,000); Burgos
  3. Ejército de Cataluña (70,000); Barcelona
  4. Ejército Central de Nueva Castilla (30,000); Toledo
  5. Ejército de la Sahara Occidental (10,000); Western Sahara
  6. Ejército Marroquí (3,000); Morocco

The Airforce (Ejército del Aire) is a reasonably powerful airforce. As soon as Franco came to power, he insisted that local companies should reorganise into designing Spanish aircraft that could match and outclass foreign competition. Although not produced en masse, Spanish aircraft can hold their own against foreign models. Jet-powered fighters such as the Félix have begun emerging, although turboprops such as the León currently form the core of Spain's fighters. Bombers such as the Lancero form the core of the bomber component.

Air Force
Active Locally-produced Aircraft
  1. Félix (193), Superiority fighter, 1949
  2. León (2,451), Superiority fighter, 1943
  3. Lancero (251), Bomber, 1944

Navy: The Spanish Navy (Armada Española) is a small navy that is chiefly designed to be able to control the western mediterranean and the southern atlantic, although this goal was never feasible in principle and the Navy is mostly used for show or propaganda.

Active Navy Squadrons
  1. Escuadrón Naval Superior de España; Cádiz
    • 2 aircraft carriers
    • 1 battlecruiser
    • 7 destroyers
    • Other smaller craft
  2. Escuadrón Rojo; Tenerife
    • 1 (small) aircraft carrier
    • 3 destroyers
    • Other smaller craft
  3. Escuadrón Amarillo; Ceuta
    • 1 (small) aircraft carrier
    • 3 destroyers
    • Other smaller craft

Other Info
Faction/Sphere: Non-aligned
Brief Description of your Economy: Quite simply, Franco's autarkic possibles have caused the economy of Spain to stall decisively. Spain has been slow to industrialise, and even a century after the revolution initially began, Spain's industry could be better than it si. The only reason why the economy hasn't sunken altogether is Tourism, which provides a massive influx of cash reserves into the country, chiefly in areas such as Catalonia, Valencia, the Baleares, and the Canarias. American tourists also travel throughout the centre and north, enjoying the famous Camino de Santiago.
Goals: Avoid revolution (will happen anyways), industrialise, remain neutral, retain colonial possessions.
History: OTL, except for the minor changes in economy and such that you've seen throughout the app.

Don't worry I intend to democratize - the ROC was supposed to go through military rule, then "political tutelage", then democracy. Chiang just decided to reset the process to eliminated corruption.

It is kind of hard to overlook the fact that Germany supported Japan, cut all ties with China, and has no overseas presence for us to worry about. The US, however, has a vast navy, presence in Japan, supported us against Japan, and is already heavily invested in us. The Kuomintang also has "democracy" in its very constitution.

So from a bit more reading it seems that during certain times the Military Resistance met with the Civilian Resistance.
I'm thinking of, if it works with the OP, having it developed deeper into each other and forming a single German Underground.
And either it has kept the radicals on all ends out, or it keeps them inside and plans to determine the future of Germany (assuming they succeed) by a sort of referendum.

Would China be interested in buying ships off the Royal Navy? I need to make budget cuts and might as well put them to a decent cause.

Well, shit.

US will actually come out of this pretty good. All of East Asia will join the allies if the Commies are beaten back, and the British colonial possessions in India can be defended with greater will in the name o fighting the Nazis.

Definitely. Will be useful for ensuring the Reds don't have any coastal trade routes, and will need to get resources from remote Siberia.
