XD Rob is going to have to ask her that at some point, I imagine Blair will be embarrassed once she understands it.

do I have her dad, like the rest of the family, not know it's Monday, and thus leave into town in the truck.
do I have her dad realized that it's not monday and thus tell Monica, and have her come inside to get her school supplies so they can rush her to school
or do i have her notice the thing and thus to run from it while come up with some reason that the parent's wouldn't hear something outside.
Or should she remain oblivious to it approaching, have it impact in the back, and then have all three members of the Strumvitnir family come out to investigate.

Oh... sorry...![]()
I can always have her fall at another time, perhaps on the way to school?

This wouldn't be so bad had it been Sunday as intended, but I can't change that now....
Some other time... I would say tonight, but.... It'd feel wrong to have Monica go out- then again, she's use to going out during the summer, and she likes the outdoors, even at night.
I'm starting to think that her landing near the house is a bad idea, I'm not really sure what the Valkarie would want (no wars here, and I don't think Monica's dad is going to die while in combat, and if he does it surely can't be this early in the RP.... I'm curious as to why one would play a Valkarie as I can't think of reasons my self for one to do so.

Or perhaps she was still cast down by some aerial monster, yet she cannot return to Valhalla until she slays this beast. Perhaps a great dragon of some kind.

Valkyries have wings?

Strange. I've seen them with wings plenty of times, or at least some capability to fly unaided...
Ive seen the winged horse version, though I thought that was a recent interpretation... Hmmm...

Charmera wrote:Also, why would you not want to play a Valkyrie? They're awesome!
Plus this is perhaps one of the more conventional things I've suggested for this rp.

Name:
Cyrus Harrison
Gender:
Male
Age/Age Group:
17
Species/Race:
Human, Caucasian
Appearance:
Around 6'1", very skinny. Pale skin, light blue eyes. Brown hair. Generally wears jeans and a t-shirt, rarely shorts. Somewhat lean arms/legs from climbing
Occupation:
Student at (TBA)
Paid intern at the robotics lab of Woodview Community College.
Residency:
Studio apartment on the 5th floor in downtown Woodview.
Interests:
Robotics, computers, climbing, mythology, Native American history.
Personality:
Shy and reserved, due to being the "new kid" in Woodview. Caring and compassionate to friends.
Background:
Cyrus was born in Michigan with his twin brother Adam, to two wealthy parents. His mother was a doctor and his father was a lawyer. As a result, the couple had little time to watch over the twins. Cyrus and Adam were often sent to stay at their grandparent's farm in southern Michigan for weeks at a time. There, they explored their grandparent's vast estate.
It was on one of these explorations, Adam was walking along a low rise when he found a hole in the ground. Peeking down it, the dirt crumbled, and he fell in. Adam tumbled down a short pass, coming to rest in a small chamber. Without noticing, some of his blood from a scraped knee dripped on the Nayi-Ahia, which lay nearby.
Adam ran to get Cyrus, and they explored the cave together. In the dim light of the cave, Cyrus did not see what was ahead, and tripped over the Nayi-Ahia, which bound to his ankle. Being only 10, the twins did not think much of it, and didn't tell anyone else about the band.
Four years later, tragedy struck. The farm house caught fire while Cyrus was away. Adam and his grandparents were killed, and the house burned to the ground. Cyrus was devastated, shutting himself away from others. His parents, not knowing what to do with him, and generally being terrible parents, decided to enroll him in (TBA) in Woodview. They got him an apartment, paying his rent, but otherwise letting him make his own way.
Just before Cyrus left to go to Minnesota, he went to what remained of his grandparent's farm one final time. Inspecting the cave once again, Cyrus discovered Isaa, an ancient knife, which is connected to the Nayi-Ahia. Deciding to keep it, Cyrus moved to Woodview.
He first saw Adam once he had moved in to his apartment. Adam appeared before him and told him about the Nayi-Ahia. The two became inseparable once more, despite one being dead.
Tools
Nayi-Ahia: Allows him to communicate with Adam, who can have some physical influence on the outside world, move through walls to see attackers coming, and can read basic thoughts of others.
Isaa: An ancient knife connected to the Nayi-Ahia, Isaa in its basic form is a dull obsidian knife. This form is generally useless for cutting, but has some properties which will be useful later but are unknown at the moment. When Cyrus wills it, it can morph into a wide variety of cutting tools, including hunting knives, swords, and hatchets.
WHYYYY wrote:Okay, so here's my item. It'll tie into my character post which will come up probably Monday.
Name: Nayi-Ahia, means "Soul Tie" in Dakota language.
Appearance: Crisscrossed gold bands with three gems, a ruby, sapphire, and diamond, inset in the center. Changes shape depending on body part attached to.
History: Nayi-Ahia was discovered by the Dakota Indians near Eagle Mountain. Nobody knows when they found it or who created it. It was their most jealously guarded secret. After settlers forced them out of Minnesota in the 1800s, tribal fights resulted in the artifact being lost. Nayi-Ahia was essentially forgotten save a few devoted treasure hunters, and the occasional rumor leading them on.
Powers: Nayi-Ahia was coveted by the Dakota for a reason. It requires two people to be fully used. The artifact essentially ties the soul of one person to the band and thus to the second person.
The first person, the one being bound, is connected to the band through blood. If so much of a drop of the person's blood gets on the band, his soul will return to the band upon death. It will be stored there until the second person uses it.
When the second person touches the artifact, it will link to him physically, becoming an anklet, bracelet, arm band, necklace, etc. depending on where the second person touches it. It will be impossible to remove unless the second person is killed, in which case the band will slide off easily, and the first person's soul will be removed from the band.
If the first person's blood is on the band, and it has bound to a second person, the ritual is complete. The Nayi-Ahia will make the first person visible to the second person. They become linked physically, mentally, and spiritually, meaning the second person can see, hear, and can have his thoughts read by the first person. The first person essentially appears as a ghost.
Sorry if this didn't make any sense, basically the first person's soul is connected to the band via blood, and the second person is connected to the band physically via touch. Once this happens, the second person can see and communicate with the first person.

I'm not sure what to say about the character. As I'm still not fully understanding the Nayi-Ahia... though at this time the character seems tragic in some way, but...WHYYYY wrote:Okay, so here's my item. It'll tie into my character post which will come up probably Monday.

Like, alright, so the brother and grandparents are dead... I've got that, and, that this is some kind of communication thingy; but, like, Cyrus's brother is a ghost in it... at the moment I'm not sure this character is a good idea.

WHYYYY wrote:Yeah, I may not have done the best job of explaining it. The Nayi Ahia basically just allows Adam to exist as a ghost, capable of seeing the world and having the tiniest influence on it (like if he focuses he can just barely push objects). Adam can only be seen by and communicate with Cyrus. That's basically all there is to that. Sorry if I made it overly complex
