Memoir...when we first met him, his closest friend shot him in the face until he was dead. Then a few minutes later, Memoir walked through the door and ate his own corpse. One time he got decapitated and everyone except his friend's daughter was basically just like "walk it off, Mem! Play through the pain!"

Oh, so he's just a "strong" character. One time in IJ my villain named Frost got his legs and most of his insides vaporized and made some death threats before teleporting away away and becoming an immortal nigh omnipotent God of Destruction.

There is Miranda, who has demon armour... Susie had the ability to absorb a percentage of physical attacks...
I'm not sure if Lavi is returning, but she was quite tough.
Though we could always use another dedicated tank.

By the way, we should probably define each of our roles...

Also, unlike in the last RP, our demons have the ability to take weapon form, becoming some form of unholy weapon that the characters will wield. They can be bows, knives, spears, firearms, swords, pretty much any hand-held weapon you can think of.

Ooooh, interesting! Is it a character-specific magical weapon like the unique ability, or is it a shapeshifting power to turn into any handheld weapon? It should probably be the former since the latter can be abused, but the latter will prompt all sorts of delicious Jackie shenanigans. UMBRELLA GUNS!

I'm now imagining as many stupid gimmick weapons as possible. A bow and arrow where you keep holding onto the arrow and let the bow fly like a deranged boomerang. A snake gun (You may be wondering, is it a gun that looks like a snake or a gun that shoots snakes? The answer is yes.). A spear that, when thrown, immediately pierces the heart of the nearest person (attentive readers will note that immediately after being thrown, the nearest person to an object is the one who threw it).

If you define "just strong" as "returns from being dead because he feels like it and the universe is too confused to say no" then yeah, he's "just strong". Memoir wasn't really a character so much as he was an experience.

Oh, and if we're reviewing past powers to show what's no longer available, Krouse and Jack had mind control augmented with music, which was entirely an excuse for me to insert fight music in-universe a sort of play on the siren's song.

Do you know Borderlands 2? You know Krieg? Memoir's like Krieg, except the sane voice is his host. And his host usually isn't around. So, yeah... it gets crazy.

The demon's power is reincarnation, so he pops back up nearby after a delay. RIP sanity.

Well, I think I can work with it anyway. I was going more for the defender/paladin approach (minus the whole holiness connotations for obvious reasons), someone buff who specializes in sacrificing to keep others alive, rather than someone who's simply really hard to kill. So unless specifically that is taken I guess I can work with it.

Okay this might be a bit confusing but I will try.

I am currently working on a paper discussing Canaanite myth (Ba'al was a Canaanite God) and how it was transferred into Christian/Jewish theology i.e. Ba'al was seen by the learned Christians as a manifestation of the dark, heretic, and pagan world hence him being characterized as a "demon".

I find this very interesting - going from a powerful God of the Sun to a Demon.

If it is not overstepping any boundaries I would like to ask for your permission to play as someone possessed by Ba'al. Perhaps he was a primordial entity that existed long before God - he never really did much and yet he was seen as a threat, therefore he was cast into Hell by God and stripped of his powers, making him in essence an formless and powerless ghost. When Lucen rose against God Ba'al agreed to support him in exchange for helping him restore some of his powers, so he is now a demon.

I understand if this is too much, and I am content to not use the idea. I just thought it would be rather interesting.

Although the idea is cool, I'm gonna have to go with a no. I prefer to have everyone be basically the same with their abilities, and be of the same importance (or lack thereof) on the cosmic scale.

Also, I'm just throwing an idea out: Should we have two separate training groups at the start, like how the lightning chick and that other guy came in at the start who were trained by Queen of the Lesbians Yuri and hadn't interacted with the 'old' group before they joined? I just say this because of my concern I wrote in the other thread about expectations since the old cast is fully familiar with the old cast and the expectations and perceptions (and even already has shipping and stuff going on) but the newbies probably haven't read through the whole old roleplay to know what it was like and who's what and so on.

With the weapons, it'll be character specific and defined in the app. But I may just make an exception for you, since your ability to make crazed jokes and pull the most hilarious shit shouldn't be limited by such a rule.

I may have two separate groups in the first, but I really have to think about it before I make that decision.

Yeah, I read it too. It's not THAT long. I read the original and I read this one again. It's as long as it needs to be, in my opinion.

Everyone gets a relatively equal level boost in physical abilities, so you will be faster and could allocate your stats to specialize in speed. So, technically, you could have both. You could have a small dragon transformation of some sort and have a specialization in speed. Or, you could just have your character's ability boost speed abilities, but that's a rather bland and will likely be a rather limited ability, so I'd suggest rolling with the transformation ability.

EDIT: I was one of the regulars of the original RP, so I'm speaking from my perspective and what I think the OP's verdict will end up being close to.

I won't be cutting down on the size of the OP, primarily because I believe that info needs to be understood before we begin.

And to Atria, definitely go for the dragon transformation. Your speed abilities would really only help against weaker enemies, since the bosses will still have you beat in that area. But if you do wish it, go on ahead.

Besides, you seem to do well with super speed anyway.

If ya got something like ice, then yeah you could probably defend against it pretty easily.
