Laura found herself slipping slightly in mind, but steeled herself. "It is a good viewpoint to see the world as a dream. When you have something like a nightmare, you will wake up and tell yourself that it was only a dream. It is said that the world we live in is not a bit different from this.” She muttered, while it might sound like insane babble it helped her focus and think. She could be impartial in a dream, make decisions without emotion or bias in a surreal land of no consequences.

You managed to give a good summary of the subconscious reason for Jackie's distancing from reality by considering it fiction better than I could when you weren't even actually talking about him.

The more conscious and detailed reason is real scientific evidence that isn't really paid attention to as the "reality is a simulation" hypothesis is unfalsifiable and therefor scientifically invalid, but Jackie trusts the evidence suggesting simulation due to his strange parents and strange upbringing causing him to not personally connect with the foreign norms and feeling like he's a glitch in the system so he feels the right answer is that this difference in perceived realities is due to reality actually being different. Or rather, not existing in the first place. Later, with magical beings flying around and priests performing miracles and all kind of crazy things, he took a step further and concluded that he isn't just pieces of data, he's a fictional character in an anime or videogame. He descended from hypothetical science to mild blatant delusions due to subconscious distancing from his increasingly bizarre and stressful reality, but he actually does have reasonable justifications along the line. Not enough to convince someone to think like him, but enough for it not to sound as crazy as it does without context.

I've been maintaining like five separate text conversations simultaneously for the past ten hours. Yup. Jackie actually does deal with the consequences, however just not as intensely as it's slightly more distant and more importantly he's resolute in his morals so he's gonna zealot his way to Heaven and back. But like the final test and his distinctive stress rash showed, he's not invincible, he's usually either intentionally not paying attention to something or just stubborn. He's rather sure of his morals/philosophy and no one's tried (other than Walter) to really change that so he doesn't feel AS bad about what he's doing afterwards since he thinks he's in the right. He's still doing something instinctively wrong and he gets that feeling, but as his actions have yet to come into conflict with his philosophy-driven morals (and he's risking his life for them), he hasn't really had the chance to have an example of a normal moral conflict. Ontop of this, Jackie feels as though whether reality (and by extension himself) are real or not is mostly irrelevant aside from how problems should be approached (e.g. combat). The distancing from reality is a subconscious mender of internal conflict and stress so his intense reaction to killing is lessened. If he were normal and without his distinctive traits, he'd probably have fainted and been ill for days after having to kill someone in person. Instead he just feels very uncomfortable afterwards and gets a bad stress rash. He'd be almost entirely useless in battle if he weren't distanced from short-term effects and justified against long-term guilt. Like he ranted to Walter in TKaG1, he's not paying attention to it now so he can't get haunted later, and likely won't get guilty later as he doesn't have a reason to as his morals haven't been infringed upon.

Yeah, it's really interesting to see how the different people approach the same problem from different angles. A philosophical discussion is the main reason I wanted a TKaG/Lith Vacay crossover since Lucas and Jackie would have plenty to talk about, and I'm still glad to host a Jackilosophy discussion in his original RP as well.

If he does this for a long time, he'll already be used to it so losing his subconscious distancing will be losing a redundancy.

However, reality not being real isn't really important to him, it's merely a subconscious emotional safeguard and an explanation for why life and society are so weird from his foreign perspective. It's closer to a conspiracy theorist thinking that lizardmen are what's ruining America and not politics and stupidity or something, but not actually being affected by the policies much, and it's just preventing a concerning reality. If he lost his partial delusion, then he'd be a stressed wreck and definitely throw up, but eventually get over it in an hour once the instinctive emotional stress wears off.
If you meant his philosophy/morals not preventing him from being more okay with his misdeeds, then that would be changing who Jackie fundamentally is and would be more than just "being normal". It'd be changing why he's doing things and how he views the world philosophically and so on. It'd be making him an entirely different person.
