With that first kiss, the two souls fleetingly touched one another with desirous earnestness. Heart jumping within her, the love-starved woman took Joan in her arms, lips meeting again. Her tongue reached into her lover's mouth, searching and feeling. Hands ran through Joan's hair, crimson silk twirling around Yuri's fingers. Breath heavier, she desired the girl more than life itself.

A thin strand of saliva linked the two between kisses, every move of Yuri's lips and tongue a dance to the rhythm of her heart. Body tense, the woman had received but a taste of her lover, and she craved more. Unable to hold back much longer, she pulled the girl to the bedroom, lips locking and unlocking the entire way. With a push, she laid her onto the bed. Moving atop her, Yuri gently kissed the girl's neck. Further down she went, her movements becoming more passionate and lustful. Hands moved across the girl's dress, teasing the gentle curves of her body.

Desire for the soul in front of her exploded from Yuri, and her trembling hands began working the clothes off her. She wasn't going to be stopped, tonight her love would bloom. Huffing and moaning with pure longing, the woman gave herself entirely to her lover. Their sweat and flesh melding and moving as one, the two women joined together in that eternal orchestra of the truest of loves.

I was gonna use this later, but I feel like now's a good time to share since that bolded line reminded me.

Also, question: Nightingale referred to the recruits in his orders. Does he mean the new recruits (with the TKaG1 vets staying back to watch or help the test), or the Illuminati in general?

Nightingale was referring to everyone in the Illuminati. If I say "recruits", typically that's what I'll be referring to.

Ah, okay. I wasn't too sure here because it seems to be assessment day, and the TKaG1 vets, well... I think they've been thoroughly assessed. I mean I'm perfectly fine with how things are going, it's just the reason why I wasn't sure what Nightingale was asking. I can see now he's seeing everyone in action for himself and not just reports from Karlson and the other officers.

She could be impartial in a dream, make decisions without emotion or bias in a surreal land of no consequences.

You managed to give a good summary of the subconscious reason for Jackie's distancing from reality by considering it fiction better than I could when you weren't even actually talking about him.

The more conscious and detailed reason is real scientific evidence that isn't really paid attention to as the "reality is a simulation" hypothesis is unfalsifiable and therefor scientifically invalid, but Jackie trusts the evidence suggesting simulation due to his strange parents and strange upbringing causing him to not personally connect with the foreign norms and feeling like he's a glitch in the system so he feels the right answer is that this difference in perceived realities is due to reality actually being different. Or rather, not existing in the first place. Later, with magical beings flying around and priests performing miracles and all kind of crazy things, he took a step further and concluded that he isn't just pieces of data, he's a fictional character in an anime or videogame. He descended from hypothetical science to mild blatant delusions due to subconscious distancing from his increasingly bizarre and stressful reality, but he actually does have reasonable justifications along the line. Not enough to convince someone to think like him, but enough for it not to sound as crazy as it does without context.

...If I'm too chatty or throwing out tangential information or otherwise acting weirder than normal, it's because the psychiatrist upped my adderall dosage a few days ago and it's been working. I've been maintaining like five separate text conversations simultaneously for the past ten hours. I'm not high like the first day, but I'm still feeling different from normal days because it's actually working. *vibrates in chair*
