So, guiz, idea. Anyone remember Hark's the Lost Colonies RP? I'm thinking of doing something similarly styled, but starting in the Neolithic, with custom tech advancement. Thoughts?

Huh interested, also yes I'm still alive. Just taking part in PnP games but I should be good for one or two roleplays here.

Sure. Provided I get airships and high-caliber cannons at some point. :p

Much interest.

Huh, I never finished that Homeworld remake.

A more fun idea might be a "Hiigaran Trail" Mashup of Homeworld and Oregon Trail though I've yet to figure out how to run something like that.

1 FORD the NEBULA? <<
2 CAULK the SHIP and DRIFT across?
3 HYPERSPACE AROUND it?
4 INVENTORY

#2 obviously. It's not like giant clouds of hydrogen and other elements can give you dysentery.

Hey, G-tech...

Hark gave you the Homeworld rules, yes? Or you had your own complete set?

See, while making my ripoff version, I've come across something... Hark mentionsin the rules buildable utility ships and capital ships, but we never got to unlocking those. As such, I have no idea what kind of mechanics they had. Now, I can just make them up, but I'd like to see what they actually were supposed to be, as a basis for my version.

I'm afraid those were all "to be created", Excidium. I never got around to making them up unfortunately.

Also, since folks might be interested: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=383839

I made a thing. Assuming enough of you show up, I'm hoping to make it a bit of a "develop your own world" type of RPG, with a custom 'research' system to allow people to develop in free form their own factions that sojourn between the many worlds of the Multiverse.

Still can't open it. Maybe the same thing that makes threads gone from my View Your Post. Can you give title so I can manually open it?

I have an interesting mechanics-based RP idea that I've been tinkering with.

Provisional Title: Blue Skies of Earth
Synopsis: A nation/faction-based RP set in Earth during the first contact between aliens and the incredibly complex politics of human nations.

Summary (three perspectives):
1. Earth... a quaint, underdeveloped planet still reeling from the environmental disasters of the primitive civilization living on it. Although this civilization, "humanity," has so far been successful at deterring the Great Powers of the Galaxy from interfering with the planet - as dealing with primitive civilisations is a legal nightmare - more and more survey reports of key resources present in the planet's surface can no longer be ignored. The Great Power which you represent have seen fit to have you lead an expedition to Earth to try and extract these deposits. But you must take care. Other Great Powers of the Galaxy will compete and fight for their access to the resources, and too many careless mistakes might even result in the humans becoming aware of and trying to resist our presence. These are interesting times.

2. Fake sightings and reports of aliens are as old as... well, the concept of aliens itself. But recently, more and more suspicious sightings have been reported from fairly reliable sources. You are still inclined to doubt, and so are the people of the nation which you represent. On the other hand, if that suspicious sphere in that BBC footage is a real alien spacecraft, if those indecipherable runes of Siberia are an actual alien language, then continued inaction could be lethal. The nation and its allies must wake up and face the truth. It must prepare for what is evidently happening. But will the people believe, or will they keep doubting until it is too late? These are interesting times.

3. You did not get here by being stupid. You did become the CEO of the huge multinational conglomerate you represent through sheer ruthlessness, wits, and more gutsy stunts than you care to remember. Oh, here atop the fortress of international finance, you are quite secure. Something strange, however, is happening. Previously hostile governments are suddenly flooding your office with arms contracts, research agreements, and do much more. What is happening? Why are all these national leaders suddenly acting so jittery? Could it have anything to do with that latest, well-publicized UFO hoax? Well, whatever is happening, you have to figure it out. These are, indeed, interesting times.

Concept: Three different types of players, pursuing completely different goals, interact. Chaos ensues. First, the Great Powers of the Galaxy will be struggling to gain access to the valuable minerals hidden beneath Earth and, at the same time, keep the other Great Powers from doing the same. Second, the major human nations of Earth will be struggling to maintain their nation's welfare. They will need to react to the increasing signs of alien activity on Earth, but the will of the people is the will of the government, and the people will refuse to believe that anything needs to be done until there is proof that this isn't all just an elaborate hoax. Third, the great multinational corporations that so permeates human society will be doing their absolute best to make whatever money they can from this whole fiasco. The human nations are desperate for arms, information... which the corporations can sell. In addition, whatever the aliens are looking for in Earth must be valuable, and the corporations will be doing their best to figure out just what that is.

I have a couple hundred words of game mechanics figured out in my head, but wanted to do an interest check before delving deeper, just to make sure I'm not wasting my time. So, anyone interested?

I don't know if this is still functioning or not, but I made a superhero RPG based on stats and rolls. It's mechanic heavy.
