And it's the Aircraft that make the carriers so good as power projection. Battleships have little to no protection against missiles or Arial attacks and are therefor easy targets for modern navy's unless it is supported by destroyers and frigates. Now the Aircraft carriers lack of armament and vulnerability to other ships in direct combat is also generally ignored because it's often heavily escorted not only by supporting ships but also from the aircraft it has at it's disposal. Battleships where designed to be Front-line vessels and as such they are in actuality even more vulnerable to modern weaponry as they are in much greater risk to be hit and destroyed by missiles and Aircraft. The age of battleships ended when WW2 as they are nowadays only good if you want some big artillery when you do Amphibious landings.

Between 13-15 May, the protesters gain control of each targeted city except Achen. Suharto is arrested and shot in a public square. The SDPP proclaims the People's Federative Republic of Indonesia (RFRI). Achen holds out against the thew republic until August when, cut off from the outside by blockade, it joins the RFRI.
