Edit: Also, was a decision made about whether or not bullpups are going to be added? Because if the next mission is in an urban area, a bullpup would be my weapon of choice.

The plan is the weapon test will be as a reactionary event to numerous CQC battles, which were previously not expected. I've got 1 real advanced weapon, and four different Bullpups.

If people would like to submit advanced weaponry, TG me with a pic, some stats, and a block of text like the almanac or vehicle list.

Probably.

Grenades are in fact not stealthy. Flashbangs are a bit more stealthy, but not completely. Shotguns are sometimes stealthy, but they're more difficult.

Probably good to have another gunner if the other gunners are wounded.

It really does depend on the mission.

Do the aliens give off any thermal reading? Also What if we capture one of the lil' buggers?

They probably do give off a thermal reading, being as one of the Hunter's pieces of equipment being a heat sensor.

Ya. I assume that most of them are similar in anatomy to humans; they have a heartbeat, give off warmth, are dependent on water and oxygen, etc...

I've been off for a few days because life, sorry. Anyways, let's see what's happened that merits a comment.

Uniform differentiation:
  • I like the idea in general.
  • I definitely think it's important for a heavy and slow class like a gunner to have different armor than a light and fast class like a scout.
  • Random cosmetic differentiation is fine as well, like everyone wearing their favorite hats as long as it isn't a significant resources drain.
  • We should not color-code the armor by class unless we want every mission to begin with the aliens shooting the officer, and then probably the medic.

New Mission:
  • Cool idea, TriStates, I like it!
  • Whether I want to volunteer for this mission kind of depends on what it's going to mainly be.
    • If it's about locating and apprehending an alien in disguise, probably while disguised as SWAT team or something, then I'd like to participate (do I have to say mission?) because a combat engineer could be very useful. (sealing entrances to a building the alien walks into while the team keeps it busy inside until its trapped, opening shortcuts through locked buildings, blockading alleyways to shepherd the alien into a trap, setting up a trap, etc.)
    • If it is just basically a firefight between the alien and the soldiers, then I'll hang around at base and wait for a mission I'm more needed for because in regular combat my guy is just a random soldier who spent too long training in things other than shooting.
    • If we don't know that the mission is until we get there, and have to commit now with uncertainty, then mission.

Uniform Ideas are cool. We do need, or rather, I'd prefer that we have pictures though. This is why I want you guys to find a pic for each class. Their armor of sorts. Weather it's done in paint (which is something I can try) or you find a picture of a soldier (see OS's pic of the BF4 'Murica Assault) and once we agree on the right one that'll be the standard armour.

That is, unless someone else has a better idea.

As for the mission thing, It's so that I can easily find out who wants to go. With you, I should have a full team. It will be Brusia's officer in charge, and I'll just give out a small bit of information to the group of people who'll go on the mission.

What I will tell you is this. The spec ops guys will write a prequel to the events of this, where they will lose track of/deem it unsafe/pussy out/ get hit, and will call for reinforcements. It will be an urban area, and there will be civilians. You'll need to find the alien and either capture it or kill it. The mission parameters will only really be told to the team of people on mission, and once it'S underway, I'll start to reveal things in the OOC.

Hey do we have any fancy tech like TAS (Target Acquisition Sight) or that cool invisibility thing the Ghost's have from Ghost Recon? TAS Is kind of an auto aim/assisted aim type thing. It highlights a target and tells you if you can hit it or not. Also displays distance and I think vital signs and friendlies.

No to both.

Yet.

I feel like that would be a cool thing. Maybe we can research it or something. Speaking of research, does anyone have any ideas on how we should do that? My idea so far is every couple missions, depending on the size of them, we 'unlock' a new thing. I've got plenty on the table for y'all, but giving it away like candy doesn't seem as fun.

Hm...well when the time comes, we probably would of cut a few of the buggers up and looked at their guns. I'd say the first upgrade we'd probably receive would either be some kind of software thing to help us identify the presence of an alien or something or maybe some soft/hard armor that can withstand a hit from those blaster things without cooking the soldier, or some specialized ammo to punch through the blues or something along those lines. Maybe remove the X from some of those aircraft too.

Ladies and gentlemen, the gears are now in motion for the next mission. Now we wait for the spec ops guys to start it off.

The people going on it are the following:
-Dutchy
-Ben
-Kry
-V.B.
-Cym
-Cong

With Brusia as the IC for the mission. How you guys go about things will be up to him, with input and very general guidelines by yours truly.

Hello all.

I just wanted to drop in and get clear on a few things, since I've been pretty absent these past few days from NS as a whole. Have had to play catch up with everything.

Did we ever decided on a definite mission idea? I know I submitted mine, but the last time I looked, no real ground was broken on the specifics of it. If anyone could give me a low down on anything important that has happened since this Monday, I would apperciate it

We have a mission in the works right now. I'm still looking for soldier appearances, such as what class looks like what, and so far we've got the pic on the front page and the american assault from BF4. (I'm kinda a fan of the Chinese player models myself)

Speaking of BF4:

I've found the perfect monster to fuck y'all over with, but not yet. I'm not gonna show all of it at least.
