My char's not Chris. :P

If he didn't notice, just roll with it IC. Have Patrick react to that as he would (offer them again later? get offended? etc). It's not really game-breaking.

Class:Sniper
Name: Ruslana Pavlenko
Rank: Corporal
Age: 26
Experience: Azov Battalion (2014-2019)
Height and Weight: 5'5", 125 pounds
Appearance:Here
Short Bio: Ruslana was born in the city of Donetsk in eastern Ukraine. As an ethnic Ukrainian, she did not support the seizure of her city by pro-Russian forces so she left to the city of Mariupol. Here she joined up with the Azov Battalion, at the time an under-equipped and undermanned volunteer formation. During her brief training before being sent to the front, Ruslana was found to be a natural marksman, and was given an SVD rather than the standard AK. As the Azov Battalion was official absorbed into the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs and received better training an equipment, Ruslana also received regular sniper training, although she was found to be more useful taking close range precision shots as a designated marksman or in urban sniper operations. She continued to serve in the Azov Battalion until 2019, despite various Ukrainian special operations units offering to recruit her, and had gained a reputation of being one of the most deadly snipers in the entire conflict in eastern Ukraine. In 2019 she was recruited by Athena, after the Ukrainian government had offered her as a candidate for the program.
Weaknesses: Ruslana's experience in the War in Donbass was fairly brutal and she suffers from PTSD induced flashbacks as a result. These can happen at the most inconvenient of times.
Skills: Ruslana is capable of pulling off extremely accurate shots in high pressure situations, playing into her being used more as a designated marksman than a traditional long range sniper. She's also a skilled guitar player and excellent singer. She'll often be heard singing old Soviet war songs during down time.
RP Example: I was asked if I wanted to join.

Done. I'm assuming I can post in the current operation seeing as it's just started?

And I don't know if you want any suggestions for more useable weapons, but I feel like the Galil ACE might be a nice addition. Specifically the 20 inch barrel 7.62x51 variant so my character can use it.

I guess it wouldn't hurt to retcon you in. I can make some edits if it's OK with the others.

Well standard AR-15 magazines can hold a bunch of different rounds to varying capacities. 5.56, 6.8, 6.5 Grendel, .458 SOCOM and .300 Blackout, just to name a few.

There's also no bullpups which is kind of surprising. I'd at the very least expect to see the Tavor and F2000.

You should know that that limits us though. The most common round in the world is the .308. If that would be our use we can share ammo between snipers, LMg's, Battle/Assault rifles, and some carbines. Though this isnt a complaint as it is more of an observation. Also most guns may be converted to use a .308, not to mention it has more stopping power.

Edit: you forgot .50 Beowulf ;P lol

5.56 and 5.45 are specifically designed to wound not kill (not saying it won't) so the enemy has to use more supplies caring for someone who's wounded, 7.62, both NATO and R, are designed to put them down, it doesn't cost many supplies to take care of a dead body. and since we want to thin the ETs numbers so they have a smaller invasion force, we want something that kills not wounds.

You do make a fair point. Perhaps some Kalashnikov models should be added to the Assault Rifles?

I'll need a reliable source saying that the 5.56 NATO round was designed to wound, rather than kill, because that's a pretty extraordinary claim.

The AN 94 and the bullpups were planned to come in during a testing mission. I might make it in the near future, but I'm currently defending my base against aliens.

Also, I'd think that the 7. 62 would be the most common round, since 1 in every 5 guns is an AK.

.308 inches = 7.62mm roughly, same round essentially.

The AN-94 is a bad gun though. Russian military tests found it too complicated compared to the AEK-971 and AK-107, which offered similar recoil reduction on a much simpler system and with the improved muzzle brakes you can get for AKs, you can get the same recoil reduction on the same basic AK system. At this point, the AN-94 is trying to solve a problem that doesn't exist anymore. Give us the AK-12 or the latest production variant of the AEK-971 instead because they're both objectively better guns and look more futuristic as well, which is the most important thing in a sci-fi RP.

right, forgot the AN had the bolt and barrel be the same piece, but yeah, I agree with that. (still need some SR-25 love though)

The round 7.62x32 is not the same as a .308 or 7.62x52, the .308 is used by most standing armies in the world so that is why its most common. Also there is more variety for it from all these nations and they aren't all clones of the same gun. :P
