Long bio: Galila Meldola was born in the city Nesher, Israel, located int he Haifa district. She grew up to loving parents of an old military couple who were working in the IDF under permanent service. They both were killed in a poorly orchestrated assassination attempt of high ranking IDF offices and were victim of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Galila was only twelve when her parents were killed, and without any grandparents or other relative to foster her, she was taken in by one of her mother's good friends. She realized that life was not fair and that the world was a very evil and harsh place from a very young age.

She studied hard in school and did her best. In her spare time, she read books about military history and novels, both fiction and non. She kept her mind sharp and her body fit, knowing full well that the IDF conscription was unavoidable for her. Once she reached the ripe age of eighteen, Galila was drafted into the Kfir Brigade, also known as the 900 Brigade. She showed prowess in her combat skills and was soon transferred to train with the Maglan unit, one of the IDF's toughest Special Forces units. She opted to stay in the IDF for a permanent service like her parents. After eight long years of hard work and perseverance she reached the rank of Segen Mishneh, equivalent to a Second Lieutenant in other armies. She led her own squad for a time.

When the Athena Program reached her, she had been enjoying a nice lull in activity around the country for a few months. Seeing that there was a bigger threat at stake to not just her country, but the entire world, she (after much convincing on Athena's part) signed up for the transfer after establishing a permanent slot open for her return to the Maglan unit and ensuring that her rank would transfer to and from the program. Nothing would make her more ticked than having to be busted down to buck Private again to work her way all the way back up the long ladder that she also found was full of cutthroats looking to get themselves up another rung at anyone's expense.

And so she went to war against an enemy from another world as part of a new unit she never heard of with people from countries she'd never been to.

Short Bio: Aaron was born in the city of Denver, Colorado. His mother was an Air Force pilot, having flown numerous combat missions in the Gulf War and the Global War on Terror. His father was an Airborne Ranger, part of the 82nd Airborne Division. Despite this active background in the United States Armed Forces, both parents vehemently protested Aaron applying for the Naval Academy. Despite this schism between him and his parents, Aaron attended and subsequently graduated the Academy. After this, he commissioned straight into the Marine Corps, where he was deployed to Syria. During a botched raid on an Islamic State headquarters, Aaron singlehandedly rescued several of his wounded teammates while under heavy fire. After his heroics, Aaron was asked to attend SEAL training. Once he graduated the training, he was almost immediately deployed as a First Lieutenant. Following 6 years, and 50+ combat missions, Aaron was recruited by Athena. It didn't take all that much convincing for him to sign himself over, as Aaron viewed the threat to the world as a greater calling than what he was already doing.

Two: one before all of our character showed up, and one after (and there is one ongoing, of course). But, one mission doesn't make a veteran. For the most part all the characters are veteran soldiers in their own right, but everyone is new to ATHENA.

The IC is the correct thread. Most of our active players are on a mission, which has been given a separate thread, hence the lack of posting in the main IC.
