During the civil war San Martin came to party, which helped bust up the nation even more. As New Granada you can attempt to rebuild the once glorious confederation and restore Colombia to a position of power. But beware, not all of your neighbors are so friendly.

Their authority was undermined by foreigners and nationals, more or less the power in Caracas failed to project across the entire nation. Realizing the importance of having a strong economy, his presidency focused on reconstruction. Using the money he made from selling most of his nation's navy, and the sell of the trading base in New Crete (Jamaica), along with some shady deals he made with Europe he began his nation's reconstruction. His policy of reconstruction enabled Venezuela to quickly recover from the Civil Wars, and the railway debt. He rebuilt schools, hospitals, roads, and the nation's telegraph line. He even negotiated a deal with a European railway company to expand the number of railway miles in Venezuela.
