Anyhow, has anyone taken the Hispanic Federation yet? I know it's in an even worse position than La Plata, but if it managed to hold Mexico and join a powerful bloc it could make something of itself.

If Scotland wants to fight a war the entirety of a world away, more power to them. Unless you have a serious fleet based in New Zealand, it would take nearly a month to get a military force to Daksina. And I'd hesitate to try and fight a war with your supply lines running the distance from Scotland to Daksina.
We have a serious fleet based on the Scottish East Indies, which encases the entirety of the Pacific for us.
Regardless, you don't actually have a valid CB on :notAustralia: or anything close to a valid CB. And the era of "Let's invade shit and annex it" has also passed us, regardless of what part of the planet your nation lies on.
Most of our standing armies are over in the Pacific anyways, but that's more so just for reference.
And besides, you've got Siam which is going to be a problem for the foreseeable future. At least until it is handled.

I mean it is likely to get eaten itself and lose Mexico, but at least player interaction ey?

Other Info
Brief Description of your Economy: With limited natural resources owing to its size and a relatively small population the Cuban economy is hardly what you might call a powerhouse; it is mostly agricultural, with sugar cane, tobacco, citrus and coffee being its primary cash crops. The Cuban government has been investing in its industrial development since the turn of the century and is rapidly developing by the standards of the region. It has a growing mining sector and has started to manufacture small arms on license.
Goals: To develop the Cuban economy and be considered a wealthy Caribbean power. Possible expansion into nearby colonial holdings of other powers. Hopes for peaceful trade and coexistence with the nations of the North American mainland.
History: Cuba gained its independence from the Hispanic Federation in 1892 as a result of a protracted guerrilla campaign between the locally popular Nationalist Militia and the colonial military of the Hispanic Federation. Though the Milicia Nationalista failed to secure a decisive military victory over their colonial overlords they were highly successful in raids and hit and run assaults which ultimately made the island too expensive to hold onto and massively devalued it as an asset, this lead to the Federation's withdrawal from Cuba. The leader of the Milicia Nationalista, Manuel de Montoya, subsequently declared himself President and began the process of forging a new nation and constitution; he subsequently went on to become the first democratically elected president of Cuba in 1894 at the head of his Nationalist Party. Despite being elected to a 5 year term de Montoya was forced to step down in 1896 after an assassination attempt by a former Colonialist military officer left him paralysed from the waist down and unable to speak at more than a hoarse whisper.
Following de Montoya's retirement the Nationalist Party split into three factions (the Social Democrats, Liberals and Catholic League) who each fielded a candidate in the subsequent elections which were won by the Social Democrats by a significant margin. Since 1896 there have been two more elections, both returning the Social Democrats to power although in 1901 they were forced into a coalition with the Liberals, a coalition which they have maintained to this day. However with an election looming in 1911 the Social Democrats and Liberals have parted ways leaving the incumbent President fighting for his position against two candidates once again.
Under the Social Democrats there have been many broad reforms, improving the economic rights of Cuban citizens and boosting the Cuban economy which is heavily dependent upon sugar, tobacco and coffee exports. Much of the money generated by this growing economy has been siphoned into social projects such as universal education, though a significant portion of the budget was spent on military modernisation since 1901.
