"Alright then. We've got our plans. We've got our team." XAnder said. "So let's get to work. Valka, as much as I hate to be the one telling you what to do. We're going to need you to be dumping as much Uru as you can get on our doorstep. Naja. Your job is to grab the Vibranium. As much as you can find. The asteroid belt is chock full of it. Craig and Valka will do their thing and forge our alloy. I'll do some research on the best enchantments for our armor. Jamal is speaking with the Council now. When he gets back, we'll hopefully know what the Builders are after so we can get under their skin. Barring that. Craig, Plan B involves Pym Particles. I might need you to get in touch with Hank if our fleet doesn't fair as well as we hope. Because if Plan B fails. Then we are down to Plan C, which is probably worse than what the Builders will do if we get that desperate." He explained. "Let's get to work people! We've got a few days tops! Probably shouldn't waste time!"

Four days. That's all the time they had. It was gone and over in the blink of an eye. But humans can do absurd things with limited time. That was one of their greatest strength. That and the army of superhumans which continued to grow every day. Xander felt confident in his plan and backup plan. The backup backup plan? He wasn't sure about in the slightest. But if it came down to it. One person to kill is much better odds than billions.

"Awesome." Xander replied to Valka. "Let's get started. We don't have time to waste. We need those ships. Not just to keep Earth safe, but to keep the universe safe. That is our priority. If for no other reason, because we live in the universe. And enjoy living free. Billions of people are counting on someone to save them. Kree, Skrull, Shi'ar. They need help and they're taking what they can get. I think it's time we put our pieces on the board and started kicking ass. I want these ships up and running in no less than 4 days. Any longer and there might not be anything left for us to fight for. Let's get to work!" He said and turned to Simon. "Pay attention. The Builders are pretty much the oldest race in the universe. Therefore. They're much more advanced than... Everyone else. And they also help create life. Now they think that all life, human or alien or whatever, is theirs. That's about all we know. Other than that they all need a dose of size 12 up their ass."

He turned to Manifest. "I'm not sure about Braniac. Annihilus... I'm sure it's an enemy of my enemy sort of situation. They want to exterminate all life. He's life. His swarm is life. I know he'll be fighting. However, if you somehow manage to get into contact with either of them and learn what they're doing. It would be very useful. Hell, if you can recruit them, even just for a temporary alliance, that would be amazing. I might just turn Plan B into a phase 2 of our attack if it goes well."

"Be right back." Naja said and shot into space to start grabbing asteroids rich in raw vibranium. They were preparing for war. She didn't mind doing her part to save lives, but the way everyone was talking made her think they were going to use lethal force. She couldn't do it. She couldn't bring herself to kill. Even if it was monster who deserved it. Saving lives was her job. Ending them? She shuddered as she grabbed a large asteroid fill with Vibranium. It wasn't something she thought she could do. What made matters worse was that according to Xander, she was a heavy hitter.

As Xander was about to leave. A Hispanic man grabbed him by his arm. "A moment of your time. My name is Hernan. The telepath. I bring something to this table that might be useful."

"I'm not going to say no to a telepath. How powerful are you?"

"I was giving Xavier headaches when I was 8. I am in my mid 30s. But... What I have to offer is..." He said and cupped his hands, letting out a beautiful bright flame. "Do you know what this is my friend?"

"That's... The Phoenix. You're... You're a host?"

"And here is the best part. Few people have the strength of character to wield. I can control it! It has not reached me yet. But the power is building. It is getting stronger each day."

Xander was obviously uneasy. "Listen, Hernan. The Phoenix is a force of nature. It can't be controlled... Look. If it's clear that we can't win this. Then... Do feel free to light them ablaze. But only then. The last thing we want to do is have two unstoppable threats to the universe. WE now have two last resorts."

"What is the other one?"

"Something just as bad as the Phoenix."

"No one has ever been able to stop me from doing what I wish. Be they man or mutant. The difference between the previous failures of a host and me, is that I know how to control that much power. They have described it as overwhelming. I once took control over every creature with a functioning brain in the southern hemisphere. I will not lose control because I am going into this with knowledge that none of the previous hosts had. However." He explained, fully confident in his boast that he would be the one to completely control the Phoenix. "In the unlikely event that I cannot control it. Then by all means. If you must put me down, do so with no hesitation."

"Calm down, both of you. It's just a precaution. If things are as bad as we've been told, then turning down one of the most powerful forces in the universe would be a bad idea." He genuinely hoped Hernan could control the Phoenix. He doubted it, but if Hernan really could, then not only would that almost certainly solidify their victory, he wouldn't have to use his own backup plan: Tapping into the unstable power of Chaos Magic. He was fed every bit of information on the other being on the planet who used Chaos Magic: the Scarlet Witch. Who seemingly rewrote the entire universe several times. Her mind was damaged by her father, but he Xander believed himself to be much more mentally sound than she was.

Naja did her best to help with the heavy lifting as Xander worked on the enchantments. Uru was good for that sort of thing so it wasn't too complicated. Naja didn't need to sleep, and he had to rest after working for two days straight without eating and almost collapsed. How he wished that he still had the stamina he once had. But with breaks every few hours, they were able to finally get the ship up and running. "I like it. Name's a bit cheesy, but I would say this is one of the best ships this side of the universe." Naja said floating around the ship and admiring it. "Not too often you get gods and mortals working together like this. Xander, remind me why we don't make more of our super serum."

"Because it takes too long to make a dose. I've told you. The first time, it took almost a day just to make the one. At best we'd have 4 of you. On top of that, controlling that much power takes practice. And we don't exactly have that kind of time." He explained as he walked into the ship. "I'm going to try and get some sleep. Wake me when I'm needed." And with that he vanished into his room. Which he had specifically enchanted to be sound proof to certain noises. Namely the functions of the ship.

Hernan spent most of the time planning and mentally preparing himself. The Phoenix was coming and it was close. He wanted to rain down cosmic fire and fulfill what he believed was his destiny. He insisted to everyone that he would indeed be able to control the Phoenix. They understandably doubted him. But he was ready. Not a second went by where he wasn't preparing to be the host. He could feel the energy building with each passing hour.

"You humans continue to impress me. I did not believe you could build a ship this large in short short time. If you could put your minds to it, you could be a true member of the Council. I have set the coordinates for where we believe the Builders will be striking the hardest. Be ready humans. Today I shall judge your true mettle." Ronan said. Whether or not he had faith in the backwater primitive humans was one thing. But the fact that they had a track record for defeating Thanos on more than one occasion gave him the slightest glimmer of hope..

"You need to get me into space." Hernan said. "The Phoenix is coming. I can feel it's power building within my body. I will destroy everything in it's path. When we get close enough... Well. Trust me when I say you will not be able to miss it. The creature is almost the size of a planet. If said planet was on fire." He explained waiting on them. "I will become it's host and use the power to reconstitute your world. Though, promise me that in the future you will take better care of your things." He jeered. It wasn't their fault and he knew that. Well. It was a little their fault. But most of the blame went on the psychotic general.

The Builder War

Xander woke up after a short nap when the ship was about to the first bout of combat. Ronan was busying explaining the plan. The Council had put the Builder fleet in a very compromising position. A rock and a hard place didn't even begin to describe it. It was between a singularity and the full might of the Council's fleet and a black hole. Which was quite a plan. "Alright then. We hit them hard and hit them fast. I want everyone who can operate in space unaided to hit them hard. Superman, Thor, Naja, any and all of our powerhouses. I want constant fire on their biggest ships. Everyone else, I want on comms. Changes in the fight or what have you. Hernan. You're the resident telepath. Any changes to the situation, we should know about it first thing. Please do not use that... Thing we discussed unless it is absolutely necessary."

"As you wish." Herana said and opened a telepathic link for everyone. "There. I will be doing my best to wage war on their minds from here. Should they resist. I suppose we will show them what Hell looks and feels like as a first hand experience."

Manifest, after the launch, spent most of his time studying blueprints that Pym made for him. When word that the ship was about to reach the Council's fleet reached him, he joined Xander and the others on the Bridge to discuss the plans. Manifest glanced over it. "This won't end this easy." He narrowed his eyes. "What's our plan to get out of here if this thing goes sideways?" He looked up at Ronan and Xander expectantly. "What's the Council's plan?"

"Probably not. Escape plan? Well, if things go haywire I'll 'port everyone on the ship and we'll fall back to the nearest planet to regroup and plan. Then we go with whatever plan we've come up with. Hopefully it doesn't involve Hernan and the Phoenix." Xander explained, and Ronan gave him an unhappy look when Xander mentioned that Hernan is a host for the Phoenix. "What's that look supposed to mean? Everyone knows the Phoenix will fuck up literally anything and everything around it, but if someone can manage to point the fuckening towards the Builders... Well I'm not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth. Dealing with one target is much easier than dealing with a billion."

"Each day I spend with you humans. The more I wonder how you made it this far in your development. Never has there been a race so... Insane."

"And that's why you're gonna lose every time the Kree and Humans get into a scuffle. Us humans aren't as big and strong as everyone else. So we make up for it by making sure there's one thing we're good at. Being batshit insane and doing the most stupid shit that no one would expect. We need a big weapon? Yeah, we'll use the Phoenix. We have to take risks. You won't."

Lockjaw had teleported the group back to Attilan. Most people think twice when a dog the size of a car growls at you. And it was seemingly just in the nick of time. Just as they got Otis' cocoon back to Attilan, he was ready. The time it took for one to undergo Terrigenesis varied from several minutes to up to a day. The green layers peeled back and he woke up dazed. However, when he caught sight of the people who saved him. To say he was startled would be an understatement. A giant dog. A very creepy looking Doctor with fingers that looked... Unhealthy. And a woman with freakishly long hair. Seeing such a sight engaged his fight or flight response. Which meant the adrenaline, combine with his now incredible leg strength, meant he jumped out of the cocoon like a bullet...

...And directly into the wall across from him. If he were a human. That would have been a nasty concussion. But it was more the shock than the actual potential head trauma that was getting to him. To him, not even a few minutes ago he was running for his life. And now he was abducted by aliens. Medusa was the first one to speak up. She was used to some people overreacting to their new situation. And in this case, it was slightly hilarious. "Calm down. We're friends." She said as Otis tried to stand back up. Only for his new "feet" to roll from underneath him and cause him to fall right back over.

"First of all. Kidnapping is illegal. Except in Sweden... I think. Second of all... I think I know you. Or your name at least. Third of all. WHO THE FUCK REPLACED MY FEET WITH WHEELS? Come to think of it. WHY AM I AN ALIEN!?" To which he immediately pulled his pants so he could look inside. "Okay. That's still there... And blue. Still. WHEELS?! FOR FEET?! WHAT THE FUCK?!" He shouted and then looked at his hands. Which were missing two fingers from each and were tipped with sharp claws. "And I'm missing two of my fingers. I want an explanation, and some Advil. In that order."

"If you would stop screaming for a few seconds I would be more than happy to explain your predicament. You have the genes of an Inhuman-"

"Oh! I know you know! You're... Queen Medusa! I think. Wait... I wasn't born here. I was born all the way back in Colorado."

"Do you want me to explain this to you?"

"Yes."

"Then please stop interrupting me." Otis replied by making a zipping motion across his mouth. "You are of Inhuman descent. The green fog you ran into to escape your pursuers was the terrigen mist. It activated your recessive genes. You underwent a metamorphosis." She said and stopped talking. Otis waited a few seconds before he spoke up.

"So... I'm part alien? That's cool. I mean. I could get used to the fingers being gone and... Is that a tail? Weird. But what kind of evolutionary path does something have to take to get wheels for feet?!"

Xander

"Craig designed and I enchanted those suits. The give wonderful life giving oxygen and allow for free form movement while magical barriers protect from harm. We're not going into this half assed. If you're capable of surviving in space unaided, I want to see jackhammering on those Builder vessels yesterday. Everyone else, form a perimeter and make sure that they aren't getting out." He said. "Alright people! The entire universe is watching! Let's show them what us humans can do!" He said creating several portals for the heavy hitters to head outside the ship and start smashing up Builder ships.

Otis

"You are a Kineceleran." The doctor explained. "Their species is capable of manipulating their own friction. You can increase or decrease the amount being used. Once you understand, you will be able to move at superhuman speeds. I estimate, given your size and skill level. Possibly just under the speed of sound. When you start understanding your natural abilities with more finesse. It is not unlikely that you will surpass that."

"So... How do I- Got it." He said and stood up after slipping about 2 more times. "That sounds... Interesting. Not complaining." He said and looked at a mirror. "I mean. I'm in way better shape now..." He said and practiced taking a few steps. It was like watching a toddler first learning to walk. After about a minute or so, he seemed to get the hang of it. "So. I'm walking on balls. There's a joke in there somewhere. Besides that. I look pretty freakin' awesome... Though I lost my poorly maintained beard and hair. By the way. Sorry for yelling and stuff. Kinda freaked out at this whole thing. But it's cool now."

"This can't be undone. You are somewhat more accepting of this than others." Medusa said.

"Oh no..." He said feigning sadness in the most sarcastic way he could. "I'm sure I'll survive. It might take some time for me to learn how my feet work again. I'm going to be honest. I'm probably not going to miss my old body. No sexy muscles or super powers? Don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out, know what I'm saying?"

"Your sarcasm is noted. However. I must point out that your metabolism is far more powerful than a human's. When you start running, your osy will need energy. So be sure to eat regularly."

"Let me get this straight. I get superpowers, a badass new body, and I can eat whatever I want and not get fat?"

"Correct."

"It's a hard bargain, but I think I'll manage."

"I like it. Everything up to this point for me was pretty. I'm not gonna sugarcoat it. It was pretty terrible. If this is God giving me a second chance to not have a shitty life. Bet your hair that I'm not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth. Is there someone who's gonna help me with my legs? As awesome as this is. I don't wanna have a repeat of what happened a few minutes ago. That is to say. I'm not keen on brain trauma. Or broken walls."

"Of course." Queen Medusa said and lead the young man to a much larger man with the feet of a bull. "This is Gorgon. THink of him as your trainer. He'll get you acquainted with everything you'll need." She said and took her leave.

"Ummm... You're... Big." Otis said ever so slightly nervous. "This is going to hurt, isn't it?"

Gorgon bellowed and put his arm around Otis. "Only the parts you do to yourself. I have read what you are. Speedsters aren't exactly common. Come on. You have to learn how to walk before you can run. And you look like you're still learning how to walk. Don't worry. Once you find your balance, you'll be running in no time. It's why your species has a tail. Balance."

"Far enough. So I'm just gonna keep walking until I can keep my balance and run?"

"That's the short version of it."

"That has to be the lamest training exercise ever. Walking?" He said and almost tripped over himself again which earned an "I told you so" look from Gorgon. "Alright. I suppose not being able to walk properly is a bit of a hindrance."

"So. What's your name?" Gorgon asked in a quite friendly tone of voice.

"Otis. I'm pretty sure that it's a dog's name. All things considered up to this point, it's not completely inaccurate. I'm sure most dogs have owners who love them. I had a dead father at age 5. And an abusive drunken mother until... Two years ago when I had her committed. Wasn't too bad after that. I had enough money to live comfortably from my car for the rest of my life. Well. I'm pretty sure now it's impounded or stripped for parts by now."

"It sounds like you've had it rough."

"I made the most of it." He said and as they walked and talked, he noticed that he wasn't tripping over his own feet as much as he was a few minutes prior. "I think I'm getting this walking thing down! I mean sure I was supposed to have it down like 17 years ago, but still! Technically speaking, I've only been this Kine-Kinet-Keceler- Alien, for like... 10 minutes." He said and spun around rolling backwards. "The tail really is helping. I think I'm gonna try running now."

"If you think you can do it, but I would suggest starting slow. Perhaps we should go outdoors so you have the room you need."

"Don't worry. I'll be careful." Otis said and got into a sprinter's position. "I'll just do a quick lap around the room. If I can do the super speed thing, then I'll head outside and maybe do a couple laps around the city." He took his first step, and the next thing he saw was everything in the room slowing down quite a bit. It looked like time had stopped... Right up until he smashed halfway through a wall because he was looking everywhere but forward. "Oooowww..."

"Are you okay?" Gorgon asked.

"Define okay... Second time I've hit a wall in the last ten minutes."

"You need more space."

"And some Advil."

"Are you okay?" Gorgon asked and helped Otis get back on his feet. "How fast were you going?"

"I don't have a speedometer. Though I should get a phone with it as an app. I'm fine, but thanks for asking. Head hurts a bit, but I've been hit harder. New body is way tougher than the old one." He says and looks at himself. "Again. This is pretty cool. Sorry about the wall. It must be part of my powers. Otis: Destroyer of Walls!"

"Indeed. Don't worry about it. I've seen worse. Better here than out there. Luckily, Speedsters aren't that hard to train. And you seem to have mastered the ability to walk without fumbling over yourself. Oh! I forgot to tell you one important thing about Inhuman tradition. After your terrigenesis, Inhumans typically change their name. You are a new person. And your name, Otis, seemed to have many negative connotations associated with it. Perhaps give it some thought."

"Huh... Not a bad idea. Give me a second- Speedy. Straight to the point. If it's not taken, it is now." He said fully confident in his choice of new name.

"If that's your choice. Why don't you go explore Attilan? I can trust you to stay out of trouble, correct?"

"Of course. I've never been much of a trouble maker. It's not like I want to stir up trouble in my new home. Meeting the new neighbors is a good way to settle in. See you around big guy. I promise not to headbutt anymore walls unless they cut me off."

Gorgon let Otis out of the training room. "If you want to meet up later, I'll be at the bar after I'm done. In the mean time. Learn your way around the city and-"

"Don't hit anymore walls? To be fair, it's not like I enjoy it. But I've got it down for the most part. I promise I won't do anything stupid. That does not include me getting dragged into stuff. It only includes me not starting it." He explained and ran off before Gorgon could object. He really only ran around the corner and then started walking. It was fine to walk, though it certainly a bit strange. It felt like walking on bowling balls. Though with his improved sense of balance it wasn't hard. The feeling was strange, but that was the worst of it.

Attilan was certainly an interesting city to explore. It seemed to be incredibly open to tourists. Everyone seemed to be happy, even if it was a bit crowded for his tastes. It was interesting to see that he wasn't the strangest person. Nor the most normal. He was completely average. Which wasn't much of a change to begin. He kept walking until he wound up on the beach. Which was packed with tourists. Being alone certainly wasn't much of an option at this point. Once the tourists spotted him, it wasn't long until he was surrounded by people trying to shake his hand or get a picture. Which was very strange, but it wasn't bad. No one had ever wanted to meet him before. "Ummm... Hi? I'm going to be honest. I have no idea what to say or do here. I can't understand all of you at once. So how about you raise your hand, and I point at you. Then you ask. Spread out a bit so I can see all of you." He said a took a few steps away as the crowd of about 10 people and a few children standing by their parents.

Every single one of the people raised their hands. "Okay. I'll try to answer everyone's questions. Ma'am." He said and motioned to the woman on the far right. The woman was simply getting his attention for her son, who was obviously nervous about asking him a question. "It's okay little guy. I'm real nice." He said as nice as he could. It was slightly more difficult when your voice sounded like a snake.

It took a second. But the boy managed to speak up. "Do-Do you have powers?"

"Sure do. I can run like the Flash. Wanna see?" He asked and the boy nodded clearly excited about getting to see what was about to happen. "Alright. Everyone, you might want to back up a bit. I haven't exactly mastered this. But I know what I'm doing. Mostly." He said and once they group was a safe distance away, he shot long the beach and onto the water. Holy shit, I can't believe that worked. Otis thought as he ran around several ships that were in the water for about a minute and than ran back to the beach. When he got back the crowd clapped for him which wasn't what he was expecting, but it was fun. He took a bow for them. "Alright! Who's next?"

After demonstrating his powers, which seemed to be the biggest question that everyone had, the remainder mostly just wanted pictures with him. He didn't mind. In fact, he enjoyed it. It was fun. Once everyone had gotten a picture with them they all thanked him and started to clear out back into the city. "Huh. So that's what it's like to be popular. Cool. Make mental note. Stop talking to myself. That's how you catch crazy." He knew he could alter his perception of time to see things in slow motion. So what better time to practice with that? Turns out it wasn't that hard to turn it on or off. It just seemed to happen if he wanted it to.

So he walked around the city to see what everything looked like in slow motion. The people were practically frozen still. Even the fly's wings were hardly moving. What he saw that, to him, looked like a bug, turned out to be a bullet upon closer inspection. "A bullet? But who would shoot someone? This city is like, awesome." It then caught his attention that Queen Medusa was most certainly in the path of the bullet. "Yeah... That's not good now is it? She's like super cool." He said and grabbed the bullet out of the air, and then his time dilation stopped and the sound of a gun going off rang through the city, obviously causing panic. He tried to turn it back on but he felt exhausted just as he tried.

"Um... I caught this?" He said and showed the bullet. A hollow point. Meant to kill. Upon looking from where the bullet came from, but Medusa could tell him to wait, he was gone to find the shooter. Who was none other than Deathstroke. "Really dude? She's like, super chill. Hell, she's been a better mom to me than my real mom. That's not saying much though, I'm pretty sure a kumquat would be a better-" He was interrupted by Deathstroke kicking him in the gut, knocking the wind out of him before jumping off the building he was on. By the time Slade hit the ground, Otis was right there. "I'd say we got off on the wrong foot. But I think that would just be rude. Also, you're a bit of a dick."

A speedster? Those were always annoying to deal with. But the tactic was to trick and disable their most vital part: Their legs. And this one seemed quite inexperienced. As soon as Otis charged at him, he slipped to the side and smashed his foot into the bend of Otis' leg, but not before Otis made contact and sent him into the wall. Otis obviously collapsed due to his leg being broken. "Son of a FUCK! What the SHIT dude?! I'm so gonna kick your ass!"

"Unlikely." He said and pulled out his grappling hook and was gone before Otis could do anything other than fail to stand.

"Yeah. You better... Ow. Shit this hurts." A few seconds later, Medusa and several of her Royal guards arrived. Her guards were sent after Slade.

"That was Deathstroke. A mercenary-"

"I know who Deathstroke is. My leg is very acquainted with him. He's also a massive douche. And I should probably head to the hospital. I'm pretty sure my leg isn't supposed to bend like that and it hurts like hell."

"Lockjaw, take him to Vinatos." She commanded the massive dog and he teleported both of them into the same room he was in not half an hour earlier.

"I will never get over the fact that you are the biggest dog I've ever seen, and you can teleport."

"Not even thirty minutes and you've already hurt yourself."

"To be fair. I didn't hurt myself. I saved Queen Medusa from getting shot by Deathstroke. I tried to get Deathstroke, but holy shit that guy is a way better fighter than he looks. So... About my leg..."

"Hold still." Vinatos said and grabbed his leg, and with an audible and very painful *CRACK* Otis' leg was reset to it's proper position. Of course Vinatos waited a few seconds for Otis to stop yelling every swear word in both English, Spanish, and possibly French. "Stay off that leg for a few hours." He said fitting it with a high end splint. "You will not be able to run, but this should keep your leg straight and allow you to walk. What have you learned?"

"That Deathstroke is an asshole, hits really hard, and that you don't like to give out warnings before you do something. Come on. I saved Medusa! Cut me some slack."

"He's right Vinatos." Came the Queen's voice. "If not for him, there's a chance I'd be dead." She said and pulled the young man to his feet. "And for that, you have my thanks. I apologize for Vinatos. He's always a bit... Abrasive. He means well and he's our best doctor. But, he is right. You should not have gone off to fight Deathstroke by yourself. As far as humans go, he's one of the most dangerous ones. But, your quick thinking has saved my life. I would like to make you a member of my Royal Guard."

"Sweet- I mean, I would be honored my Queen. I'd bow, but my leg is still pretty messed up and I'm not getting another lecture from Vinatos. No offense. You do your job well. But a little sympathy would go a long way. And so would a warning that you're about to correct my leg."

"You asked for my assistance. It was provided."

"...Fair enough." He said and tested the splint. It was built quite well and it didn't hurt to walk on it. Even though his leg was still quite sore from the experience, it wasn't nearly as agonizing. "So... What would I have to do to join your Royal Guard?"

"Let your leg heal first. I'll have Gorgon teach you how to fight. Given your little show with Deathstroke, you could use some practice, but. You need time to heal. Gorgon told me that you were to meet him at the bar. It's karaoke night and he loves doing his Death Metal."

"Death Metal?! There's only one Death Metal king! Thank you for telling me that. Now, I have to go show him how it's done." He tried to use his speed, but the splint was definitely not going to let him. "Good lord this thing is built solid. I'll limp over there! You just wait!" He said and walked out of Vinatos' office as fast as he could. Which was still quite fast when compared to the average person. By the time he found the bar Gorgon was just finishing up his song and stepping off. He walked over to Gorgon who gave him a look knowing full and well what happened.

"Did I not tell you to stay out of trouble? And here you are with your leg damaged."

"I saved the Queen! Come on! Slack! Anyways, she told me you're a fan of death metal and can sing it pretty well."

"Indeed!"

"I'm gonna show you how I do death metal!"

"You're welcome to try!" Gorgon challenged the young Nuhuman. Who was clearly more than willing to accept as he stumbled his way onto the stage and selected his song.

"Prepare to be blown away! There's a new metalhead in town!" He said as began to sing with a surprisingly deep death metal voice, Dethklok: Murmaider in his attempt to upstage Gorgon. It was purely as friends, and both of them had a common interest.

Otis hopped off the stage. "And that's how you do it!"

"Not bad! Dethklok." He said and put his massive arm around Otis. "Come! You must be hungry after a day like this."

"Starving. That Vinatos guy wasn't kidding. I metabolize like a freakin' nuclear reactor. I ate lunch not even 30 minutes before... This whole shebang. Big one too."

"Well. What better time to show you where you will be living." He said, leading Otis to a rather beautiful apartment. Clearly on the higher end side of things despite Attilan's current state. "Make yourself at home. Get some rest. Queen Medusa told me that she wants me to teach you how to fight. I would prefer that your leg not be in it's current state." Otis was left alone to explore his apartment. It was certainly better than his car. Which he should go find and grab his belongings. But it was quite advanced.

"Yeah... I could get used to this." He said, stripping of the clothes that were given to him to fit his new body and took a shower. The first one he had in weeks. It was a series of very strange events that lead to him being here, but he wasn't one to look a gift horse in the mouth. Super powers, a place to sleep, food, a job, and friends? Sure he looked like some strange alien that would get strange looks outside of anywhere that wasn't Attilan or Wal-mart, but it was a small price to pay for everything. And most people seemed open to the idea of human aliens. Or rather, the ones that he met did.

Otis took the brace off his leg and put a little pressure on it after he got out of the shower. He got a twinge of pain, but it was much less painful than it was before. He got the Advil he asked for, and took a few of them. "That was nice of them." By now, the air condition had made the room a cool 70 degrees. Collapsing into his bed was the very next thing he did. He was tired. Though after a day like his, it was deserved. One hard sleep later, he was now suffering from the "I don't want to get out of bed because it's too comfortable" disease like everyone else who's ever slept in a bed. Though he mustered the willpower to get out and put clothes on like a regular person.

Or rather the 10 of the same pairs of clothes they made for him. The ones that won't burst into flames whenever he moves. After grabbing a few things to eat he set off to find Queen Medusa or Gorgon. With his speed, it didn't take long to find Gorgon in the training room waiting on him. Who he didn't expect Medusa to be there. "Oh... I'm sorry. I just thought Gorgon was going to be here."

"There's no need to be so formal. I was just explaining to Gorgon what I wanted for you to do. He'll tell you what you need to know." MEdsa said and walked away.

"Y'know. For a queen, she's really nice." He said once she was clear of the room. "Anyways, what's the agenda for today? I know you said you're going to teach me how to fight, so I hope you're not just going to break my leg."

"Of course not. I mean... If I have to." He snickered at Otis looking at him quite annoyed. "It was a joke! Queen Medusa said there was a small change of plans. Her instructions were that since we are now integrating with the humans, that since they seem fond of you, you will be the one to manage public relations."

"I'm the PR guy? Huh."

"It appears you bear a resemblance to a popular cartoon character."

"No way. I'm the PR guy because I look like a cartoon?"

"It is quite an uncanny resemblance..."

"Work on that."

"Work on what?" Gorgon asked.

"Your jokes! What else?! Anyways. She wants me to make the Inhumans more... Open? Friendly? What?"

"We have been hidden for so long. Given that you seem to be more recognizable and popular due to your looking like a character on a television show for children, you should be the one to help show this world that we are friends. We've made the first steps by opening Attilan to tourists. Show them that we can fit into their society just as they can ours." He explained. "You are a perfect example. You enjoy your life as an Inhuman. Yet you are well versed in the human things. You have the best of both worlds."

"I get it. I'll just go join a superhero team or something. Start a Facebook page... Twitter... I hate social media with a passion. But it's how you get popular with little effort. I'm 19 years old man. Don't go around expecting miracles. Some random superheroing should help too... It's not like I'm easy to miss. I'm like freakin' 6 feet and some change now. The blue skin and tail help. Alright. I will need a cellphone. Rather. I will need MY cellphone." He said, disappeared, and about a minute later came back. "They impounded my car... I'd be so mad if it wasn't for the fact that I don't need it anymore. But I got my phone back. Though I do think this is a bit weird. Couldn't you guys just say that you have better tech than like... 99% of the planet? And help them that way."

"Humans are fickle. You are aware of this obviously. The sub species of humans, mutants. Are treated with disdain and fear. This is not just for us. But for them. We can integrate and be a part of this world as every one else is."

"In retrospect, that's a lot of responsibility to push onto a teenager."

"If it's too much..."

"Nah. People flip for action videos of superheroes. Seriously. Look up Superman versus Doomsday on Youtube. Literally billions. I'll get to work! Later tater!" And before Gorgon could object that they didn't get through their training lesson today, Otis was gone. It wasn't like he could catch up to him easily. Otis ran near the peak of the Empire State Building. "I cannot believe I'm doing this..." He muttered. "But... He's not wrong. Earth could be so freaking awesome, and we haven't even colonized other planets. Well... They haven't."

While waiting for something to go wrong, Otis set up the Twitter page for the Inhumans. He didn't want to do it, but it was easier to get a point across to a bunch of people. While setting up as much as he could with his phone, he heard footsteps. There weren't too many people that could actually get to where he was. It was none other than the wall crawler himself: Spider-man. "Hey. This is my roof. Can't have everyone getting up here and leaving the place a wreck. Who are you anyways?"

"Your roof? I don't see your name on it. Surely one of the largest cities in the world has room for two people to look off of a roof. Even though I can't see crap from up here to be completely honest. Name's Otis. Or Speedy if you want. Either works for me." He said. "I'm trying to get in on this superhero thing. Kinda new at it, but I learn fast."

"You weren't supposed to tell me your real name."

"Yes. I might get mistaken for one of the other tall, blue, tailed, aliens with wheels for feet. No, I can't be recognized by that in the slightest. You'd only find me because you know my first name. Totally invisible, but now that you know my first name, I have to go into hiding."

"Hey! Sarcastic comments are my thing! And good point. Maybe you should try makeup."

"I like you." He said and puts his phone up. "I don't see why J.J.J rags on you so much. We should do a team up. That'd be fun. And I'm supposed to be making us look good and loved by the masses or something like that."

"Mutants?"

"Inhumans."

"Right. I'm not racist I swear."

"I believe you." Otis said and looked around. "How do you even start this whole thing? I mean crap. I can move really fast but I can't be everywhere at once. How do you find the bad guys?"

"Having a police scanner helps."

"Know the frequency they use?" He asked and began to jailbreak it so it could detect the frequencies he needed.

"You're slightly modifying a thing that you own. You monster. That's against the law. And yes. I do."

"So's robbing banks. People still do it. For some reason. It's just plain dumb nowadays. What with all the superpowered guys running around in colored undies. Myself included." Otis said and punched in the frequency that Spidey gave him. "Here we go... Thanks man. Look's like a high speed chase on 22nd street. I like high speed. Wanna check it out?" Before Spidey could reply, Otis was gone, having run down the side of the building towards the action.

"I didn't even answer..." He muttered chasing after Otis who was already climbing on the hijacked armored van. "Stuck?" He asked sticking to the top of it.

"I just got here! And this my first time."

"We should stop it first. So we should take out the wheels-" Otis ran off the truck, search the nearest dozen cars for a tire iron, unscrewed the wheels just as his time dilation wore off. The van smashed onto the ground and slid along the rode smashing into a few parked cars "-first. I BLINKED! How did you-"

"Told you I'm fast, that's what she said, and tired. Seriously. Moving that fast wears me out. Also, I should probably give this tire iron back." He sand and put it back where it came from and ran back. He speed was greatly diminished and the police had finally caught up to the van where Spidey had webbed up the would be thieves.

"Not bad for your first time. I mean, you at least made sure there were no people in the way, right?"

"Thanks... And... Yeah. Of course I did."

"That was... Fun." Otis said. "I'm hungry, but that was fun. We should totally do that more often. Thanks for the help! If ya ever need help, look me up. Can't miss me! I gave you my name, remember?" He asked and then ran away before Spidey could get a word in to reply.

"Umm... Sure." He said well after the fact that Otis was gone. Otis himself however was heading back to Attilan to grab something to eat. This however, didn't last long as he found Gorgon waiting for him as soon as he was about to enter his room.

"Oh. Hey Gorgon. What's up? I've been busy and Vinatos wasn't joking about my metabolism. Holy crap I just ate not even an hour ago and I'm starving. By the way, what're you doing here?" Otis knew good and damn well why he was there. He skipped out on training. Which was obviously not something he was supposed to do.

"Come on Otis. We were supposed to train today." Gorgon said and crossed his arms. "Let's get it over with."

"Yeah... I guess we should-" He turned around and tried to run but due to not having much left in the way of energy, didn't go as fast as he thought and Gorgon grabbed his tail which stopped him. "Huh... Yeah, I didn't think you were gonna do that. Best two out of three?" What surprised him was that Gorgon let his tail go. Obviously, trying to push his luck, Otis tried to run away a second time. Gorgon was fast enough to grab his foot and held him upside down. "Huh... Is it too late to ask for a third try?"

"It won't be that bad. And given your current performance you certainly need to practice. I am going to release you. If you try to run away. I will drag you." True to his words, Gorgon put Otis down, and it seemed Otis was willing to comply this time. Of course it was short lived. As soon as a straight area came into his sight, he tried to run, but Gorgon was expecting him to try it and had Otis' left foot in his hand before Otis even knew what happened. Gorgon wasn't lying when he said he would drag Otis to the training room as that was exactly what he was doing. "What did you think was going to happen?"

"For you to let your guard down?" He said digging his clawed fingers into the ground, but Gorgon was significantly stronger than he was. "I'm not a combative person. I don't do a lot of fighting. Also: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

"What is wrong with you? It's just some sparring. And you could certainly use some."

"I don't like fighting." Otis replied still in Gorgon's grip and being held upside down. He cross his arms. "I regret nothing. I'll do it. But I reserve the right to make snide comments at will."

"Not that anything has ever stopped you from making them before. I don't understand you. Yesterday you were singing a song about murdering mermaids, while having a grin on your face nonetheless, and now you say you don't like fighting?"

"It's just a song! I don't actually murder mermaids! I'm not even sure if they exist. It used to be that I didn't, but nowadays it's a lot more difficult to tell... Anyways. It's something to do with me personally. You can put me down now."

"Until I am certain you won't run off..."

"I told you I would go through with it. I'll be making stupid comments all the way through it, but I'll do it." Gorgon seemed unconvinced after his five previous escape attempts. "Fine then. You want me to prove I'm serious? Okay. I'll introduce you to my knowledge of chemical warfare." He said and ripped a long and terrible fart. Said fart being so terrible the Gorgon actually dropped him to try and get the stink away. "I learned what to eat that unleashes such terrible noxious gases. With my new metabolism, I can pretty much fart on command. And boy are they nasty. I've been holding that one in for nearly ten minutes." He said with a stupid grin on his face. "And I'm immune to the stench of my own farts. So much time spent smelling them has granted me a nose of iron."

Gorgon's face was red, but the stink finally dissipated after a minute or so with Otis still there. "That wasn't what I had in mind what I wanted you to prove that you are willing to fight... I thought you were going to hit me."

"Unconventional warfare. Nonlethal... For the most part. And highly effective."

"While that was... Impressive. I sincerely doubt all of your opponents could be disabled by your... Nerve toxin."

"Is that a challenge?"

"...No." Gorgon replied. "Your first demonstration was more than enough. This won't hurt. I promise. I just want to instruct you on how to properly defend yourself. So you don't end up like you did last time. That is to say, visiting Vinatos." When he mentioned visiting the doctor Otis shuddered a bit. "Ah, see? All you needed was an incentive."

"Vinatos is a great doctor. No question there... He just has poor people skills. And those creepy fingers... Alright. You win, ish. Teach me the ways of combat unfairly large man." Gorgon was seemingly honest. It didn't hurt. He was taut several take downs. Specifically working towards his strengths: His powerful legs. Gorgon commented that Otis' legs were much stronger than his arms. Not that Otis was weak. He was twice as strong as a normal human was physically capable of. But his legs were easily ten times that. After all, they had to propel him at mach speeds. After about an hour, Otis had finally got the basics down relatively well and was actually hold his own against Gorgon. Simply by tripping him. "Okay. I was wrong. This is kinda fun." He commented after swiping Gorgon's legs out from under him the 5th time in a row.

"See?" Gorgon replied and stood back up, throwing his arm around the young Inhuman and smiling. "You're not bad. Your reflexes are quite fast. Come now. We shall celebrate you basic combat skills with food and death metal."

"Now you're speaking my language." He said walking with Gorgon. It felt good. Fighting wasn't nearly as bad as he thought it was going to be. Gorgon was a great teacher and he wasn't terrible at it. It wasn't like he could make a full fist with only 3 fingers on each hand. So kicking with his much more powerful legs was a much better option.

Rehabilitation Center: Arizona

"Maria Steredenn of Sector 2814: You have great rage in your heart. You belong to the Red Lanterns." The ring said, latched onto the finger where her wedding band used to be, and she shot into the sky in a bright red streak. She was so angry at Otis for what he did to her, that she was hardly disturbed by the fact that she was kidnapped by a magic space ring. All she felt now was that she had power and that was going to make her only son pay for sending her away.

Otis was having a great time. He and Gorgon took turns trying to out do the other with their best death metal voice. It went on for almost an hour before they stopped. Only because their voices were giving out. Otis coughed a bit after he finished another song and found it almost painful to speak since he had be doing a voice that he was not originally intended to make. "And I was gonna do my grand finale too..." He spoke much raspier than normal. "I think my vocal cords are gonna commit suicide. But you better know that as soon as I get my voice back, we're coming right back here so I can verbally kick your ass!"

Gorgon's voice wasn't fairing any better than Otis'. "You are going down! Uhg. Perhaps after I drink some water..." He said grabbing a cup and then downing several glasses one after another. "Maybe I should let my voice rest for a day or so. Though it was good singing on your! No one has ever lasted that long against me!"

I can't believe that you actually sang that many Lamb of God songs and aren't coughing up what remains of your vocal cords. Its..." He paused as he prep the pun to end all puns. Gorgon gave him a looked knowing what was about to happen. "...Inhuman. Ha! Ouch! Okay. Losenges and water for me. My throat is drier than the Sahara. I couldn't resist with that pun. Come on. It was a good one! You gotta admit that."

Ysmault

Maria landed on the sand rock that the ring dragged her to. "Where did you take me you piece of shit? There's no one here. Take me home so I can throttle that worthless bastard that crawled out of my womb." She hissed at the ring fueled by her hatred of what Otis did to her. But it had other plans. Like taking her to the portal just over the nearest ridge. "You want me to walk through that? Fine. But you're taking me home after." Maria hissed as she walked through and was surprised by what she found. Some sort of nightclub? What was a nightclub doing in the middle of wherever she was? "Hey! Who runs this joint?! I want answers NOW!"

"I'm not CRAZY! I'm pissed off!" She replied by shouting at the top of her lungs. How the woman retained her voice was a mystery in and of itself. "This stupid ring told me that I was angry. No shit. I'm angry at my son for throwing me into prison." It was really rehab, but she couldn't make herself look sympathetic. "And I'm going to beat the hell out of him as soon as I figure out how this stupid ring works."

Otis

After downing a few glasses of water in an attempted to soothe his throat, and several quick trips to the restroom later. He was just sitting alone at a table listening as other people went to attempt to sing. He wasn't a profession singer, if he was, he probably wouldn't be where he was. Not that it bothered him. This was free entertainment and it was fun. Unfortunately the fact that he still hadn't made many friends was setting in. It shouldn't be that hard. In theory. So he asked two guys who looked rather normal. One of them had rocks on various parts of his body. The other seemed normal minsu the fact that his skin was blackened like he had been burned. "Mind if sit here?"

"Sure." Inferno replied with Otis sitting on his left side in a backwards chair.

"Thanks. I can tell this is going to be the start of a wonderful friendship."

"What makes you say that?"

"Wait for it..."

Xander and Naja

Both of them had taken just a few days off to recuperate from the Builder War. It could have gone worse to be certain. Not everything that could've gone wrong, did. just most of it. However Xander received a message on his phone. He thought it was just his service provider remind him how much data he had left, but when he checked it, it revealed something much stranger. "Xander. Your immediate assistance is required. Meet on the terraformed section of your planet's moon."-Ronan.

"How did Ronan get my number? Since when do the Kree have cellphones?"

"Ronan? How do I know you're not seeing other girls?" Naja asked, with Xander giving her a look which meant that he clearly missed the joke. "I'm kidding."

"I was gonna say. Yes Naja. I'm cheating on you with Ronan. Come on. Let's go see what he wants." He said warping both of them to the moon where they found Ronan who looked severely battered, but still finding the strength to stand up straight. "You look well."

"Your sarcasm is not why I called you human. We attempted to replicate the serum you used to grant your lover her abilities. We were successful. However, we were too successful. And-"

"Your test subject is either mad with power or insane."

"Allow me to finish. We intended to make it superior to yours. This had the side effect of... Yes. Severely impacting his mental state."

Xander replied with an annoyed sigh. "Y'know. I would have showed you guys how to make it. Under some stipulations of course, but I would have gladly done it. Did it ever occur to you to ask?"

"We thought that you would refuse."

"You thought? Yeah. Don't do that."
