Etla could not help feeling that she was beginning to warm inside as the yougn inventor leaned even closer, so close that she could feel his breath on her face, her Core beginning to process and emulate something that she didn't understand very well. She was about to reach out with her hands and finish pulling him in, when all of the sudden, he spoke about the fight, revealing that he had not, in fact, forgotten about it like she suspected.
What happened next surprised her to no end. When Craig reached down into her chest, which had begun to glow and shimmer as a result of a living hand entering the chest of a Rainborn to pull out the Core, she literally gasped. Not because she had the air knocked out of her, which was something impossible to inflict on the Rainborn that did not breathe, nor was it due to pain like before. It was, rather, an instinctual reaction, a stunned response to the sudden invasion of their very being. Suffice to say, she had not expected anyone to try this on her, much less Craig, and so, she was completely helpless while the man pulled out the frozen heart of a star which had served as her Star Core during the battle.
It was a curious object, really. A frozen light, if you will, that looked like it should be too bright to look at directly, yet was perfectly safe to look at, paradoxically. Its still rays looked like spikes of golden and white branching out from the center, and it was warm to the touch despite being frozen.
Still baffled, the blonde girl brought one hand to her chest as she looked bewildered. Frowning as she watched the object in Craig's hands, she kicked him squarely in the shin, likely putting him in a lot of pain. She may have lost the power of the Core, but even then, since it was so suppressed by her bracelet, the drop was minimal. She no longer commanded the power of light, and could not fly, but the former she could do without, and the latter she hadn't even used. Her strength, speed and such was, for the most part, the same, and so, the kick likely hurt quite a bit.
Afterwards, standing up quickly, the Rainborn, now annoyed, decided on what appeared to her as the simplest path to victory.
"You cheater!" She accused the inventor as she slugged him in the face.

Garnet looked at Masami from behind the faint wisp of smoke emerging from her cigarette. "Well, regarding the artifacts, you've seen that already. I find them while chasing the shadow people. Sometimes I end up going to another dimension first, or sometimes I find them in seemingly mundane places. Frankly, I have no idea why they just pop up in the places they do, but they've been very helpful so far, so I don't complain." She shrugged, before staring off to the side, as if trying to recall and order her thoughts in her mind. "As for why I started hunting monsters... It's a bit of a long story." She sighed. "It all started when I found this pistol, Misery." She said, taking out the gun for a moment. "I used it to fend off a stalker, and ever since then, the demons have been following me. I kept running, and for a while, I thought they had finally left me alone, but then they came back. Now I hunt them to get rid." She explained.
"It's probably not the most exciting story, but it's all I can tell you. Everything before that is hardly relevant." She explained. "Not the happiest topic to talk about, I suppose. I wish I could share something less gloomy. I didn't want to ruin the mood like this."

Still munching on the turkey leg that she had playfully stolen from her little sister Hanah, the eldest Grimm sister could not avoid smiling as she listened to Samantha's words. Buying a house to settle down and live a normal life? That was so like her. And all in all, Sarah had to admit that it was, in a way, a pleasant thought, no longer having to steal and abuse their powers in order to survive and live comfortably, and being able to stop running, be it from the authorities or from that blasted wizard. In all honesty, she had to admit to herself that she was curious about how such a life would be. After all, neither she nor any of her sisters had ever had the chance to experience such a life, as they had been living on the streets and fending for themselves for as long as they could remember.
However, in the end, Sarah did not feel that such a life was for her. Certainly, being able to settle down without the danger of the wizard coming after them would be a great blessing, but she couldn't shake the feeling she had that the kind of lifestyle they would have would be very... dull. It was not that she didn't see the merits, but rather simply that she had grown accustomed to the fast-paced lifestyle she led, which allowed her plenty of room to indulge in her hedonistic tendencies even as she looked out for her sisters and ensured that they could live well.
And, really, it was a good thing. The dream of settling down and having a family was Samantha's; Sarah had no desire to steal it.
"That's quite a nice idea, Sam. Just what I would expect of you." The eldest Grimm sister said with a smile on her face. "But... well, I don't think it would be a very good idea to settle down for the time being." She stated. The rest of her sentence was left unsaid, but she was fairly certain that her sisters knew very well what she meant by that. The wizard was still after them, after all.
