He quickly grabbed the sniveling man and broke his arm.

"I won't ask again, where's Two-Face?" He said coldly.

"He's in the back room," sobbed the man, "he went there when he heard you coming. There's a back door."

"Thank you for being so cooperative," replied Salis as he put a bullet in the man's head. The bartender had forefit his life when he had thrown his lot in with Two-Face. The other gangster quickly unloaded a magazine only to have the bullets riddle his back from a portal. Salis moved through several more sets of doors, dispatching more men in similar fashions, until he found Two-Face. He wanted to world to know what he had done, to send a message. As he came out the entrance, several cops who had been surveying the carnage he had left behind looked up and pulled their guns. Behind a barrier, several news stations had vans and camera's trained on him as well. Salis stood at the gaping doorway and held up Two-Face's head.

"This is a sign," he said, "This is a sign to everyone in Gothem that would get in my way. This is what happens to those who prey on the weak. What happens to those who would take the lives of others, who would force them to the streets. And anyone who gets in my way, hero or villian, gangster or civilian, will face the same treatment." With that, he threw Two-Faces head into the air and shot it as it fell, landing in front of the reporters.

"Pick your side wisely," said Salis, "for the wrong choice will kill you."

"I would advise you to listen to him," a woman said from within the crowd. "He has a tendency to remove body parts when he's displeased."

The woman calmly strode past the police barrier, ducking under the yellow GCPD tape that the cops had set up. She walked right up to Salis, this dangerous madman, or so it was thought, and extended her hand for a shake.

"Mr. Salis, we meet again", Sonja Delacroix said, grinning. "Will you please come with me? I think we should have a chat in private."

Samantha
Samantha just smiled and shook her head at her sisters' behavior. "I can't believe I'm the normal one." She joked. After a little while their meals arrived, well Sarah and Hannah's weren't meals as much as they were whole parts of the menu. Samantha started to eat her food as soon as it arrived. She was quite hungry after everything that had happened today. When she finally stopped to breath, she spoke to her sister, "So should we talk about what happened today?" She asked, she was often the one who kept them serious and her sisters called her a buzzkill. "I thought we killed him in Central City. How did he come back?" She asked in a hush tone.

Garnet simply rolled her eyes at Masami when she said that whatever was coming, it was something big. That much was painfully obvious and didn't really help Garnet figure out what kind of monster was approaching. She softly mumbled something about a military officer named "Obvious" as she faced off against yet another Goryo, briefly wondering if there was something in her arsenal she hadn't yet used. Suddenly, her mind thought of Despair, and so, thrusting forth the arm that bore the bracelet with the purple gemstone, she willed the skeletal purple hand into existence, and it manifested soon enough, reaching out towards the undead samurai. But instead of pulling it towards her or pulling her towards it like it often did, it constricted the Goryo, eventually crushing it inside the ethereal fist.

Garnet was fairly content with the outcome of her little experiment, btu she didn't have much time to think about it, as Masami suddenly tackled her, pushing her into the inn just before a giant bone foot stomped them and ground them into a fine crimson-tinted paste.

Getting up just a moment after Masami, she hastily adjusted her clothes, which for a moment there showed a tad more cleavage than she was comfortable with, and listened to the kitsune explain what they were going to face off against. The giant skeleton, she said, had apparently been taken here from somewhere else.

"Well, that only confirms that this whole thing was a trap, Ackbar." Garnet remarked, before looking up at the skeleton. It was pretty huge, but nothing she couldn't take. She had been fighting giant monsters since... a handful of days ago, but she felt like she had it down to a science already. Plus, Masami had been at it for far longer, likely, so she was confident they'd be fine. "Now then, time to take this one down too." She said. And with that, she began charging up Agony, the gauntlet glowing with red energy. Reaching out with the hand bearing the purple bracelet once again, and the skeletal purple hand reached out, latching onto the skeleton's leg. Garnet used this to launch herself at high speeds towards the skeleton.

"Femuuur..." She said as she flew towards the skeleton, ready to punch its leg and look awesome while doing it. "KILLER!"

The leg cracked as hit was hit, sending the monster back as it sat it's boney ass down on a poor individuals house. The monster then moaned. No fearsome roar. No acknowledgement of any pain. Of course, those were the pro's of being a giant skeleton. You didn't tend to let things like limb's being cracked get you down. Masami's eyes widened as she suddenly had an idea, you could almost see the light-bulb over her silver hair. She quickly rushed towards the leg, slamming her blade into it. It cracked again. Not enough to break fully, but enough that it would begin to show some real structural instability. This time it didn't so much fall back as look at it's foe with a blank, almost innocent stare.

"Focus on this leg! Then we can bring down the head together when he fal-" Suddenly Masami was slapped by a giant hand, brushed off the leg and into the inn, She groaned as she was hit. Then suddenly the Skeleton focused on her. Walking towards the Kitsune and ignoring Garnet, rearing up a massive fist. Masami recovered, placing a sword in defense which may or may not do anything.

Hanah frowned, about to chew through a whole leg of lamb with her knifelike teeth, She sighed. Buzzkill Sam was at it again. "I don't know Sam..." She spoke. "I mean, we can do some crazy stuff, and it's all magical... maybe he has a different sort of magic." She spoke. Then tore off a chunk of meat with her teeth. "He's creepy. That's for sure." She spoke. Then she suddenly looked down. And sighed once more. "If I didn't hesitate... maybe you wouldn't have gotten hurt Sarah. I should have pounced on him as soon as he showed his ugly hat..."

Noticing that there were more drones on the battlefield now, Asra decided that he'd had enough. Gripping his sword, he moved at the speed of light and sliced through them effortlessly, before flying high into the air. Holding out his free hand above him, he began generating massive waves of Absolute Flame, just waiting to be released, unleashed upon the ripe world that was Earth, to feed on its inhabitants and devour it whole, leaving nothing behind, erasing Earth forever. Aru's words rang true: ten seconds were all the time that they had left before Asra killed them. Ten seconds were all the time anyone had left before Asra killed them, for not life nor sound nor light could escape from that fire.

Yet, getting him to fly was exactly what they wanted.

Gilbert, truth be told, did feel a little bit sick after being teleported with Aru, but he quickly overcame the nauseating sensation through sheer willpower, also aiding himself by sending himself back to an earlier state. However, time was running short, and so, immediately, he tapped into the enormous power of the dreaded Time Demon, using that forbidden might once more and absorbing the life of Earth itself in order to fuel his attack. He drained and drained, enough so that he would be able to create Aru an opening for her attack, without knowing the consequences that his actions would bring in due time. He charged himself, just as Asra charged his flames.

And then, he jumped. He jumped like never before in his life. His legs painfully shattered from the sheer force of the leap, which was far greater than the force he should've had as a human. However, he ignored the pain, clenching his teeth and pushing on. His jump had taken him all the way to where Asra hovered above Earth, and for just one moment, the two were right next to each other. At that moment, Gilbert's fist shot forward, impacting Asra's chestplate with several million times his own strength, the temporal overlap fueled by the drain performed earlier allowing him to have enough strength to break a star.

At this, Asra's eyes widened. His chestplate burst open, shattering miserably, and even his chest split apart where it had been struck, the black stonelike material parting away to reveal a glimpse of the Corrupted Core sleeping beneath.

The next instant, Aru's Tachyon Arrow skewered him mercilessly, destroying the Core. Asra stopped functioning, just like that. His flames went out of control, and devoured him before fading from existence, the will of the Ashbringer no longer sustaining them.

Afterwards, Gilbert's broken body landed on the drained Earth. The impact had completely destroyed him, erased him, the sheer magnitude of the impact joining forces with Newton's laws to annihilate him. And yet, already his body was slowly reforming, though it would take a bit further before it happened. In the mean time, Aru would be able to appreciate the price of their victory. The drain that Gilbert had performed earlier had come with a great cost. In order to grant him the power required to expose Asra's core, all life on Earth had to be drained, its time stolen by the thief with noble intentions, never to be given back. No more creatures walked the surface of the planet, no more.

They had saved the Earth, but now the Earth was hollow.

Aru looked up, seeing the bolt of... something simply disperse in the sky. She wasn't sure what material could survive that kind of acceleration, but whatever it was it was pretty unstable when lanuched through a corrupted Rainborn's chest. She lay down, exhaling out of exhaustion. That was months upon months of tracking... over. Shot through the heart. She would be proud of herself, if she didn't feel... wrong. There was something wrong about all this. But she didn't know what...

"We did it." She spoke out loud.

Amidst her meditation, Hadrimmelis felt a presence appear somewhere behind her. However, a fraction of a second after detecting it, she dismissed the thought of taking preemptive action. She recognized this presence, after all. It was the presence of one of her siblings, another of the World-Dragons. She felt this with ease, her vast psionic capabilities granting her absolute knowledge of everything that surrounded her, even in her human avatar form, though these abilities were obviously diminished. They would have a much greater range, if she was awake, but there was no reason for her to be awake at the present moment. To awaken would cause the destruction of her people, after all, and the laws of the Dragon Force forbid her from causing such a loss of life.

Either way, she didn't pay much attention to the other presence until she spoke.

"Yamirakkelis." Called the blonde avatar, nodding without turning. "Yes, I was thinking about the Time Demon War. I was... wondering if one of the decisions I made back then was the right one." She stated. Between World-Dragons, consensual communication was necessary, as their psionic abilities ensured that they would not be able to breach each other's minds.

"But that is not a topic I would like to discuss, frankly. It was merely the solitude of this place that led me to think of it." She stated. "Now, what brings you to me, Yami? I presume it is not a call for help or anything urgent like that, as you would appear far more agitated if that was the case."[/quote]
"Fair enough. I was just curious. You should be used to that from me. Especially considering how silent you First generation types all are about the war." Yami then sighed. "I know. I know. 'You weren't there. You don't understand.'" She spoke, imitating the line she had heard so often. She stretched slightly, looking forward. "I suppose I may never understand. We're sisters... yet sometimes I feel like the gap between us is... large." Her face seemed to visibly go down. She never liked that gap, and often wondered what had happened in those years she wasn't there. What she had missed in those many billions of years. What she could have experienced.

She smiled slightly at Hadri. "Can't I just say hello to my big sister?" She spoke, then shrugged. "I came partly to check on what you were meditating on." She spoke. "Also to share. I've been doing a lot of research recently. A lot of good findings have been turned up." Yami continued, adjusting her glasses. "But mainly because I wanted to talk to you. About... assorted things. Most anything really."

Cora frowned when she saw Katie walking back to her room, it was clear that she was crying. Soon Cora went to her room to change as well, wearing a black dress that she had bought for the occasion. They then all drove in Katie's car to the funeral, Roy wearing formal attire that Valancy had bought for him.

The funeral was a very sad occasion. Cora tried to stay strong, but couldn't help but let a few tears fall to her face. She hadn't know Eric very long, but he was so kind and caring. She knew she would have become close friends with him, and he had made Katie so happy. After the procession and Eric was buried, Katie was kneeling at his grave along. Cora and the others stayed back, she needed time alone with him. When Katie came back she seemed different however. She looked distracted, but not as depressed as before. Cora wondered what she could be thinking about.

When they reached the lobby of the JQ tower Katie suddenly shot upstairs at high speeds, Co had never seen her move that fast. "What was that." Roy asked in shock. He had never seen Katie move at high speeds before.

"That's one of Katie's abilities. She can moved at high speeds by speeding up the electrons in her body." Cora told the boy. "I'm going to go look for her. I hope she's okay." She said to Valancy and Roy before heading upstairs.

She looked around the tower for her, wondering where she had gone. Finally she say lights on in the computer center and she heard Katie talking to some one as well. She approached slowly until she was standing behind Katie, leaning against one of the processors. "Hey Katie, you okay?" Cora asked softly, concern in her voice.

Katie looked through watery eyes at Cora. She turned her seat towards her and smiled. "I... think I am. Finally." She spoke. "I... know the pain will never completely go away, but I know better than to let it rule me anymore. Plus I had some help." She spoke. Then thought back to Lula's words. "But... how have you been? I know this had been hard for you too... I mean supporting someone after a loss is something I can't imagine you're familiar with." She moved towards Cora. Then embraced her friend. "But still. Thank you. You were there for me. I needed you." She spoke softly.

Cora
Cora was surprised, but releaved at Katie's words. She did seem to be better. Then Katie asked about how Cora had been doing. "I'm fine Katie. These past few days haven't been easy on any of us, but you needed my help and there was no way I wouldn't be there for you."
Cora then blushed a bit when Katie hugged her. She wasn't sure why, it's not like Katie hadn't hugged her before, but this felt different. "You're welcome Katie. You did the same for me. I'll always be there for you." She told Katie as they hugged.

Samantha
Samantha heard Hannah's words as she stopped bitting into the leg of lamb. "Hannah, that wasn't your fault. We can't protect each other from everything, we just have to do our best is all. You've always been there for us Hannah, and we'll be there for you." She told Hannah to comfort her. "I'm sorry to kill the mood, it's just been bothering me. He seems so confident, more and more every time we beat him."

"Likewise. I'm Naja. The weird shiny guy is Photon. He's a Kree, and a huge weirdo." She said helping Atiala bombard him. "He kept calling you a hybrid, of what exactly?"

"She's part Kryptonian, part Saiyan." Photon said from behind the two women. "Has the potential to be one of the most powerful beings in the universe. You too. And you're both women. I wonder if that means something... Not in a cosmic way, I'd know. So far you both are just lucky."

"Would you mind telling me how you know all of this stuff?"

"Cause I'm almost omniscient." He replied and hit Naja across the the face with enough force to send her crashing into one of the many planet sized molecules, which sent it crashing into several others. "She's got a hard jaw. I'll give her that. Ultron would make great use of you both. So let's be civil about this and let him do his thing? Though I sense I'm going to have to knock you out first. Which is fine. Just delaying the inevitable. " He said firing a beam point blank at her.

It certainly is hard to keep your identity secret in the big wide world. Bam, Photon already knows who I am. And that I have the potential to become one of the strongest characters in the universe. Huh. My parents always told me that I should always restrain myself, because my power is so unnaturally large that I could accidentally destroy everything in my path. I never believed them that much, though still followed the orders. And now people are proving their point left and right.

This is certainly ending up as a very interesting journey. Meanwhile, Photon was attacking Naja over and over. I had a really strong feeling that I should help, fight with my new ally, stuff like that. Wha am I, a superheroine or something?

"Hey, you should keep your guard up!" I shouted as I dashed behind Photon and attempted to send him flying to the same planetary molecule he sent Naja to, with a Heat Vision follow-up.

Floyd Martin
As Valancy made her way through the city of New York, Floyd Martin was not far behind. He was traveling in a van, moving through the city. He had been following Roy since he had made his way to the Justice Queen's tower. He had been watching him through small drones with cameras that he usually used for jobs, but was now using for revenge.

He had given Roy a home, trained him and fed him. Now this was how he was repaid? He would teach that boy a lesson in respect. First though, he'd have to deal with this woman who had apparently taken him in. She had gotten involved in business that was not hers, so only she was to blame for what was going to happen.

As he followed her, he realized she was determined and headed somewhere, he'd have to do something to distract her. He made a call to a few of his mercenaries that he had brought into town to help him. They began to rob a nearby nearby bank. Hopefully Valancy would take the bait, and then Floyd would strike.

The Golden Mask

'Even Metropolis is no longer what it was. Back in the day I was big here corruption was no secret. Everyone knew of it, yet they feared the corrupted for their power. Now those same people, corrupt as always, hide behind the shining windows of their luxurious skycrapers. Gah,' said the voice behind the golden mask, covering a face so horrible that it would make the Joker stop laughing, as the rumor goes.
Jordan Reese didn't respond to that. Instead he decided to change the subject. 'So boss, all is set for the plan, we storm the building, up to the 30th floor, and take everyone hostage. Security will be taken down, and the stuff will be planted. Group B acknowledged they are also ready and awaiting orders. But, if I may ask, why Stagg?'
"STAGG industries is world leader in cyborg tech. I don't wear this mask for nothing. They betrayed me, all of them! Dumped me into fucking acid! It destroyed my whole body! ALL OF IT! I am weak Reese. I must fullfill my goals, BUT I CAN'T BECAUSE I AM TOO WEAK! Stagg himself will help strenghten me. He will make me an exoskeleton. He will. He will cure my pain. He will help me with my goals."'

The moment he said that the squad of cars, with at the center his armoured limousine, stopped before the entrance of STAGG Tower, towering high above the skyline of Metropolis. The two guards, each standing at one side of the entrance, were immediatly gunned down once the first soldiers stepped out of the car. 'Do your thing Reese,' he said. Reese nodded, stepped out of the limo, and signalled the others. Suddenly all the car doors swung open and tens of heavily armed soldiers ran towards the building. Once the lobby was safe, and stained with the blood of the dead, someone opened the car door so that the Golden Mask could get out, even though only in great suffering. 'Gun please,' he said, and one of the soldiers gave him a shotgun. They made their way to the 30th floor, where the office of Mister Stagg was located. They breached the oaken doors and stormed the office, shooting blindly in all directions until the room was filled with smoke.

Once the smoke faded the Golden Mask saw Stagg , sitting behind his desk, scared, and blood streaming out of an gunwound in his arm, which he tried to stop with his other.
'Mister Stagg at last! Oh my it has been long!' He said.
Stagg looked confusing to the eyes behind the solid golden mask. 'W..what? I never met an madman like you!' He yelled defensive.
The Golden Mask started to laugh intensely. His fur trimmed overcoat, which reached till far below his knees, danced with the movements the Golden Mask made. 'Oh but Simon you did!' He said. 'Infact, you were an close.."associate" of mine, long ago. That's why you will help me now...' You see, I need to become stronger. But..' He took his mask of, showing an molten, deformed face. 'As you can see, my body is....not what it's used to be. I am weak, as you can see. So, you will make me an exo skeleton, for free ofcourse, because you still owe me. I want it to be easily camouflaged by clothing, and I want it to give me strength, which I used to have. I also want to be relieved of this horrible, horrible pain in my organs and muscles. You can do that, and please don't deny it, I know everything of STAGG Industries. 'A...and if I refuse? Stagg asked.
Golden Mask leaned over the desk. Then I will fucking destroy EVERYTHING YOU LOVE. YOUR COMPANY, YOUR FAMILY. I WILL CUT OFF ALL OF YOUR TEN FINGERS AND TOES SO THAT YOU WILL LIVE CRIPPLED AND MAIMED FOR THE REST OF YOUR MISERABLE LIFE. THAT WILL BE YOUR FUTURE STAGG. THAT WILL BE YOU IF YOU DON'T DO ME THIS SERVICE!' He yelled. His breath was sour, and made Stagg's eyes tear. I...I will help you...' He proclaimed, surrenderd and lost.

Kyle Vannis

"Sir, we've got new information. Iceberg Lounge has been taken, and...Two-Face's dead, sir." said one of Vannis' men as they watched the news via TV inside the SUV.

Kyle buried his face on his hands. His empire, his criminal empire, has all but flourished. No more there will be safe haven for the criminals anymore in Gotham, no more safe place.

"Turn back. We return to the mansion. Have our security detail secure the mansion and arm themselves with our best weapons at the mansion. Order all of our men at our places to start massacring any civilians they see, I will see to it that Gotham is flooded with its own blood, unguarded by the order they care so much about."

"But Sir, it will cause chaos, and then-"
"Just do it."

"Yes, Sir."

Via radio, the order was spread and distributed. There are about 500 men left under his command.

A dozen of armed men went into a locked clinic, and forcefully broke the door, to saw there were many citizens and doctors alike, hiding inside. They began to open fire at the civilians, massacring anyone. Soon, the order began to be spread around Vannis' men, to kill any citizens they see, or near their places.

She watched as Masami rushed over to it and began attacking the cracked leg as well. Evidently she wanted to bring it down too, so cooperation was key here.

However, she didn't get to punch the leg again, instead being forced to kick herself off of the giant's femur in order to avoid being slapped away like Masami.

Then, the giant skeleton tried to punch Masami. Garnet's eyes widened as she saw this. "Shit!" She thought to herself. "I have to do something! I can't let another friend bite the dust!" She told herself, her mind racing to figure out what she could do with the artifacts she had on her currently. Thankfully, it didn't take long before an idea popped into her head, and just in time, too, as the fist was about to collide with Masami's blade.

Acting quickly, Garnet tapped into the power of Longing, the amulet with the orange and blue gemstone, causing a portal to appear right in front of Masami's blade. The portal connected to another, which had oppened just next to the giant skeleton's own cracked leg.

"Pick on someone your own size, anorexic bastard." She muttered as she used Despair to swing to Masami's side. "You okay?" She asked.

"I see." Hadrimmelis stated, closing her eyes for a moment to check up on the battle taking place on Earth. The threat had been disabled, it seemed, but at a great cost. The planet had suffered much in order to ensure that no other planet would suffer at the hands of that monster. It was a regrettable necessity, but not a regrettable action. After all, almost always, sacrifices were necessary in order to stop an even greater misery from spreading. Once again, this train of thought took her back to the Time Demon War, but she shook her head. She didn't want to fall into those dark thoughts again so soon, especially now that Yamirakkelis was present. She didn't want to show weakness in front of one of the second generation.

"Some of us avoid talking about the war because we did things we are not entirely proud of, Yamira. The annihilation of the Time Demons can be considered as an objectively good thing, but the lengths we were willing to go to in order to ensure that nothing like the war would ever happen again still frighten us sometimes." She explained. "It is not because we think you would never understand, much less because we want you to feel segregated."

After a sigh, the World-Dragon's avatar smiled. "Now, you wanted to talk to me, yes? How about you tell me a bit about your findings? After all, if you claim to have been too busy to pay a visit, then surely you must have found something interesting enough to absorb your time." She said.

"That's because he has reason to be. Every time we encounter him, he is more powerful than the last." Sarah stated factually as she ate a spoonful of cheesecake, taking a moment to close her eyes and enjoy the flavor before continuing to speak. "He never seems to attack us more than once in any given month, which suggests that he needs at least as much time in order to recover after every beating, but it must also mean that he is empowered either by whatever process allows him to regenerate, or by something else." She said, eating a bit more of cheesecake. "Perhaps it has something to do with our powers, too. He seems so obsessed about them, I wouldn't be surprised if his magic had something to do with them."

If the sisters looked at Sarah at the moment, they would find the playful, flirtatious air that was so characteristic of their elder sister gone, replaced by a grim countenance. The topic at hand was a very serious one, after all, and sooner or later they would have to make a decision about it.

"If we don't do something about the wizard, or at the very least try to find out what the connection is, then these battles will only get harder and harder with each passing month, and we can't exactly rely on the full moon to be there when we need it the most." She stated firmly.

But afterwards, she sighed, running a hand over her hair. "Sorry, I got a little carried away there. It's just that he worries me as much as he worries you guys. Didn't mean to get all gloomy." She said softly, and tried to smile. "So let's just have dinner, okay? Before something bad happens. Like this." She said, and promptly snatched a turkey leg from Hanah's personal banquet, munching on it.

Not far from where Aru stood, Gilbert's body had managed to fully regenerate yet again, and he stood up shakily. That last attack had taken quite a bit out of him. Indeed, it had completely burned his reserves of stolen time, and in order to regenerate, he had exhausted himself. Barely able to walk, and only slightly more capable of standing, he looked up. Asra was gone, destroyed by his own corrupted flames once his Core had ceased to function, but the world felt... different. Empty. The sky was gray, and there was not a sound but that of his own breathing and his own footsteps, as well as whatever mechanical noises came from Aru's suit.

Hearing the alien's comment, Gilbert would have smiled if it weren't for that strange sensation. Instead, he simply nodded, more to himself than to her as she could not see him.

"Yeah, we did it." He echoed, taking a few steps towards the white-haired woman and offering her a hand. Earlier, when the fight against Asra was in full swing, he had barely stopped to observe her, too focused on the battle. That is not to say, of course, that he didn't look at her; he had noticed her appear after all, had offered her some aid and worked together with her, but he had seen her as only an ally, had looked at her without seeing. Now, however, there was no such pressure, and he couldn't help but notice that, for a blue alien woman at least, Aru was quite pretty. She had some rather human features, after all, and he realized that he quite liked her white hair.

Before he had the chance to comment on it or even help her up, though, something happened. The same pain that had ripped through his body inside the Batcave came back, with a vengeance. Suffering flooded his every sense, causing him to fall to the ground and scream in agony. With apparent despair, he clawed at his chest, ripping off his shirt and looking down to what he knew was the source of the pain. And there, he saw it.

The clock had made a full revolution.

All at once, the emergency line for the GCD was flooded. When reports came in that Vannis had initiated a full on assault on Gotham, the Commissioner growled. "We're holding our damn territory. I'm setting out now. When the Bat arrives, tell her to take out Vannis before it's too late." He rose, grabbing an assault rifle.

"If you see Vannis' men, shoot first, ask questions later. Top priority is the Hospital- I want a team there an hour ago." The Commissioner called out. Throughout the GCD compound, all hands were reporting to the armory to collect weapons and Kevlar. "Distribute grenades as needed. When you take out one of Vannis' men, try and grab the gun, give it to a civilian, and tell 'em who the good guys are. I'm not going to lie to you- We're going to take heavy losses today. Some of you won't see it through the night- Hell, for all we know, most of you won't. What I'm asking you to do here is prove yourself- To prove the GCD- and do what you signed up for. All of you knew that Gotham is a death trap when you shook my hand. All of you knew that you were going to die on the job. Tonight, Vannis has ordered the Sword onto Gotham. I'm ordering the Shield. Move out."

With that, 44 men, armed with pistols, assault rifles, and grenades, set out to defend North Gotham. The Commissioner and his team of 7 made their way to Gotham General Hospital, while the Reclaimer and his 5 made their way West down Main Street with itchy trigger fingers. A dispatch of 10 was sent East, while 10 stayed to guard the GCD compound. The remaining 10, all runners, attempted to get as many Civilians either into their houses or on the streets with a gun as they could.

The 5 runners already out, excluding Boxer, stood position, and the 4 person team at the Funhouse stood their ground. Boxer was "a little busy at the moment.

The Flame Guard
After Morgan had left the skyscraper he began to hear loud gun fire coming from a nearby medical clinic. He rushed over and saw thugs killing innocent civilians. He was filled with rage and quickly rushed inside, smashing down the taking out a thug who was standing against it. He headed down to the basement and smashed his fist into the generator. The lights went out in the building and the Flame Guard began absorbing all the energy from the generator. Fully charged he ran back upstairs and clenched his fists as a huge heat wave emitted from his hands, melting metal across the building and jamming and destroying the guns that the thugs were carrying.

"Wha-What the hell?"

The thugs are all surprised when they found their guns to be melted down, to a scrap of iron, or maybe a crater full of liquified metal. At the same time, an unknown person got his hands on their friends.

"Grab anything to smash it to this guy!"

He and the rest of surviving men stormed to the man with their melee weapons on their hands.

The Flame Guard saw the now disarmed men charging at him with whatever they could find. They didn't stand a chance now though. No pipe or baseball bat could damage his armor. Now he took out his own weapons, his assult rifles that fired non-lethal rounds. He fired at every thug in the building as he moved through it. His guns wouldn't kill them, but they'd break ribs and hurt like hell. Any thug that got close, Morgan slammed his elbow into their chest.

Elena pressed a hand to her cowl, hearing reports of massarce by Vannis' forces. Two-Face had just been killed by that fool Salis, and now he had blood on his hands. "I don't have time for this! Vannis is making his move! If Fury wants to bring in the damn cavalry, now's the time!" she shouted, furious at herself, her Batmobile already screeching to a stop, Elena leaping down, and zooming off, transporting Boxer as well.

Stopping at the GCD, she heard what the Comissioner had told, and she perfectly agreed, Vannis needed to be taken out. Now. And so, a Bat rushed through the streets of Gotham, before she saw Vannis' thugs mowing down civilians. She burst out of the car, lifting her hands, creating a shield to cover the civilians, dragging the injured to cover. Spotting one untouched fellow, she grabbed him, telling him what to do, "Get all civilians off the streets, now! Lock your houses, bar the doors, and don't open them until you see the Bat signal.

The thugs continued firing, halting for a moment, as a pale white figure stepped through the smoke like a wraith. They hoisted their guns for a second, before they saw the Bat signal on her chest. And before they knew it, she was upon them, eyes glowing taking them down before moving down. They fired, but all they hit were their own comrades, and there was fear. In a short amount of time, Elena stood among a pile of groaning bodies. She smirked once, then rushed back to the Batmobile, continuing to race through the streets.

Knowing that she didn't have enough manpower, she accessed her Watchtower communications and got onto their speakers, "This is Batgirl, requesting immediate assistance in Gotham. Citzens are getting mowed down here. I need everyone I can get, and I mean everyone. I'm going for the ringleader myself. Batgirl out!" she said, before stopping at Vannis' mansion.

And making sure she had everything she needed, she started her assault. One Bat against a private army. Those were odds she could go with, thought Elena.

And so it began. Batgirl tossed in several smoke grenades, hearing coughing and shouts. Then, leaning over the Batmobile's console, pressed a few buttons, activating the two missiles on the car. Then, tossing in a Stormlight sphere to blind anyone still standing, she slipped in, systematically, and ruthlessly taking out all and any opponents.

One simply did not attack the city of a Bat without serious consequences.

Valancy hearing the alert that a local bank had been robbed, stopped mid-run, extremely frustrated and torn. She couldn't let Jasmine get away, neither could she let innocent people die. Giving a great sigh, she ran to the bank, meeting up with the police blockade arriving on the scene. Explaining what she could do, she teleported herself into a plant on the upper floor, looking down below to see a mercenary holding the receptionist at gunpoint. Jumping a distance that far would kill a normal human, but Valancy wasn't one. So slinging herself over the railing, she sailed down at high speed, her feet hitting the man's head, making him tumble. Valancy caught the falling gun, and swiftly emptying it of its cartridges, looked for the other robbers.

Craig mentally sighed, a bit frustrated that none of his attacks worked once again. His eyes widened as his disc spun right back at him, barreling towards his head. He had never got to installing the feature which made him immune to his disc. Just before it reached him, he dropped and rolled, the disc slicing off a few hairs of his head. "Careful," he murmured, "That one almost took off my head" he said, feeling his hair.

He raised an eyebrow, hearing a person calling Etla."That's strange, I wouldn't expect many to know your name. She's dressed quite like you were, when you first arrived. She couldn't be another a Rainborn?" Craig mused. "Well, she'll have to wait until I'm done with you." he said, grinning, before resuming his charge, meaning to throw a punch before her next comment, his mind getting distracted once more. So he ended up barreling into the Rainborn, Craig on top, grinning victoriously. "A-ha!" he cried out, eyes sparkling, leaning closer to her heavily breathing face for some reason. "For the record," he murmured, "neither do I."

But as for what I wish..." Valka trailed off, thinking. "I wish more of these delicious treats that you call PopTarts. Thor told me long ago of their delightfulness, but I did not believe him fully until I tasted them for myself," Valka said, remembering them. "A Midgardian named Craig brought them as a gift to Odin in the final days before the End. So that is what I request. Several large boxes of cinnamon sugar PopTarts, oh, and the seeds of the beans that create the drink you call coffee."

As the two attacks slammed into Okarot, he was shrouded by the ensuing explosion, an explosion which only shortened the already doomed planet's lifespan. But, as the smoke cleared, it became quickly apparent that Okarot was not going to be taken down so easily. Despite his armor being torn up and damaged, he was still well intact. The Saiyan smiled at his android adversary, "So, you think you can defeat a pure blooded Saiyan?", he said, with a laugh, "You're simply scrap metal that needs to be melted down and destroyed. And, I've got an attack that will do just the trick."

Suddenly, Okarot stuck out his hands, connecting the bottoms of his palms, as a small bright orange ball of energy appeared in his hands. It began to grow larger, it's energy increasing exponentially, and causing the planet to shake even more than it did when the transformation occurred. In a matter of nearly no time, the attack had gained enough energy to match or even surpass a supernova. Every fiber of Okarot's being focused on maintaining his energy, and not letting it destroy him, causing incredible strain.

Okarot all of a sudden yelled out at the top of his lungs, "HYPERNOVA CANNON!", and an immense beam fired from his hands, over half a kilometer tall and wide. The beam could easily wipe out most of the solar system if concentrated into explosive energy, but, it was not an explosive attack. This attack was meant to simply vaporize everything it came across.

"Going to stay on observation for a minute or two before resuming primary objective."

As Lazarus was about to leave, he noticed a man observing him. Now, the man didn't seem like a goon; but it was better to be safe than sorry. The Mad Butcher charged at his observer, rearing one of his cleavers to the right and attempting to hit the man with the flat side of his blade as a makeshift cricket bat in hopes of sending the man towards the wall to the left to disarm him.

"Oh hell, Commissioner, the Mask noti-" The runner's sentence was interrupted as he was slammed against the wall, his gun flying in the opposite direction and misfiring into the air when it landed. His radio wasn't within his reach. "M-Mate, I'm one of the g-good guys." The runner hesitated, fully expecting to die.

Riding with the Bat until the GCD Headquarters, Boxer tossed a small cell phone into her vehicle before he got out. It only had one contact- "G.C.D. Officer Boxer". Staying at the Headquarters, he decided to act as dispatcher for the city, utilizing his contacts and GCD radios to keep a handle on how bad the situation was.

The Commissioner's forces, already down two men, were in a shootout with part of Vannis' gang outside the Mayor's office. "Boxer, you're acting Dispatch, right? I need some damn reinforcements! Vannis' guys have us pinned down outside the Mayor's office. I don't know whether he's in there or not, but if he is, I want to keep this idiot alive."
"Got it boss. I've only got 1 spare runner in your area, though- He has grenades, but I'm not sure how much he-"
"Send him!" The Commissioner yelled before returning to the firefight.

"This is Retlyer, I've got a mass of homeless civilians being rounded up by about 10 of Vannis' men underneath the Arkham bridge. Cannot engage without Civilian casualties, repeat, Cannot engage."
"Reclaimer, this is Boxer, this is the part where I remind you that you're a damn Mask. Use your powers and get out with as few people killed as possible. Have your men take out anyone outside of civilian range."
"Er... Confirmed, Boxer."

When Boxer learned of the massacre at the clinic, he called the Bat. "Pick up, Lady.. C'mon!"

The Flame Guard
John Morgan was busy taking out every thug that he saw when he heard Batgirl's words resonating across the city. She had told him that these Vannis' men earlier and now she said she was going after their boss. He assumed that Vannis' private mansion in the city would be his strong hold so Morgan raced over there to provide help in the fight. Whatever monster could order his men to kill civillans needed to be stopped.

He arrived having seen the batmobile firing missiles into the mansion. He was becoming more and more impressed with Batgirl's skills. He made his way to the rooftop and smashed a whole into into, landing in the middle of the floor near Batgirl. "Thought you could use the help." He said to her, firing his non lethal semi automatic rounds at the numerous enemies. Once his clips were empty he dropped the guns and switched to hand to hand combat, bringing down foes with brutal speed and strength.

Floyd Martin
Floyd was watching Valancy through the security cameras in the bank. He studied her fighting style as he had already for days. She fought with none lethal tactics, which would make things easier, however she had an extaordinary relationship with plants and could move at high speeds. When she arrived on the top floor he smiled, he had been waiting on the roof for a moment just like this.

He soon fired a blast into the ground and the part of the roof below him gave way so that he landed a few feet in front of Valancy. He was in full black body armor, so that only his face was uncovered. A double sided spear rest on his back and two sub machine guns hung from his belt, as well as a few grenades. Right now though the weapons he held out were his arms themselves. They were not covered by the armor and were a Metalocalypse silver. The middle of his plans glowed brightly.

"You heroes are so predictable. All that's needed to get you to fight is rob one simple bank." He said to Valancy, holding up his hands which glowed brighter as he fired two energy blasts at her.

"I'll take that as a compliment." He replied already having recovered from the hybrid's assualt. "Yeah... I leave myself open a few times. Then again, you're not practically omniscient. So much information to process at one time-" Naja cut him off with an uppercut and a blast of her eye beams.

"Some brain damage'll fix that right up." Naja sneered and threw another blow, which Photon countered with his own blow. The force from the two striking each other with such tremendous force was causing the molecules to start cracking every so slightly. When Photon hit Naja in the face, she could feel her bones cracking and force spreading throughout her body. She hit Photon back with the same force but couldn't tell whether or not she was actually doing anything other than sending the man back a little ways. He didn't seemed to be bothered by her attacks much at all. A quick scan revealed that Photon wasn't like her with flesh and blood and all the other goodies that come with being a living being. Photon was made of pure energy.

Which was going to be a slight problem.

Alex

He decided to let Naja do her own thing. She was more than capable of taking care of herself. After all, she was every bit as strong as he used to be. Which he missed. The strength and power of a million exploding suns. "I guess it's true what they say. You never know what you have until it's gone." He pondered a moment, remembering Strange telling him about various artifacts to look out for during his (mis)adventures. The ones that stuck out the most were the Norn Stones. Asgardian Magic rocks capable of boosting magic and other powers. That would make his life far more interesting. He was scared for the first time in his life.

His magic wasn't as good as Strange's. Not by a long shot. On top of that, he wasn't invulnerable anymore, it was so easy for him to get hurt. As noted when he stubbed his toe for the first time and cursed the coffee table causing it's legs to melt whenever his feet came anywhere near it. Before he could just charge right into danger head first and get out with minimal effort.

Being human is terrifying. How do these people do it?

"Two Face is dead? Didn't think I'd be alive to witness some progress in Gotham." the Mask remarks before grabbing the runner by his arm and pulling him up to his feet. "Yeah, I'm here to help. I'm no Batman though. Keep that in mind. I see pests run around, and I kill them, got it? I'll be going with you if you don't mind. Tell me about these three responders." the Butcher continues, handing the runner's items back to him. "Try anything funny, and you're a dead man." He says lastly, finally giving the man his firearm.

The runner remained nervous and frightened, despite having a gun in his hand. "The Gotham City Defenders are a police group, I'm part of it. We're trying to take back Gotham from Vannis and.. Uh... Two-Face's gang. The Bat is, well, the Bat. I don't know anything about the fire guy, I swear. I-If you want verification on any of that, my radio's right there."

"No need. There are more important things to do. As you said, Vannis ordered an attack on the city. If you're a member of this...police group, it seems first priority is to save some civilians and take down the goons. I'll go with you, it's been a while since I've had this much scum to rend." says the masked man, expecting the runner to lead the way.

"Er.. Alright." He sighed, grabbing his radio. "Commissioner, you there?"
"This is Boxer, the Commissioner is in the field. Where the hell have you been? Did the Mask try and kill you?"
"Nah, he was just trying to figure out why I was spying on him. He's an ally, if... er.. A bit of a brutal one." He said, with a glance back at him. "I'd put him at or above Reclaimer."
"Perfect. I got word that there was a firefight up at an old mansion, word is, Vannis' people are there. Take main street, and if you see Vannis, take him out."
"Got it." Putting down the radio, he glanced back at the Mask. "You got a car? We should get there as fast as we can, Mr..?"

"Lazarus. I have a cycle, you alright with that? It's parked at the next block." says Lazarus. "You tell me where to go though, it's been a while since I've been in Gotham." the butcher continues.
