Sarah nodded with a very serious and mildly concerned expression on her face. "Yes, Hanah, we're under attack." She said in a hushed tone as she leaned closer, looking over her shoulder as if to make sure there was no one eavesdropping, no one save for John, anyways. "I didn't think he would be here, but he is. Sam and I are going to buy some time, but we need you to run away right now, or you won't be able to get away from... THE TICKLE MONSTER!" She suddenly shouted cheerfully, all pretense of tension disappearing completely in but an instant as the eldest of the Grimm sisters proceeded to tickle the youngest one. It was a flawless plan: sleepy as she was Hanah wouldn't be able to react in time, and the mention of danger would further throw her off guard since there was clearly nothing wrong going on in the hotel.

Of course, she didn't want it to last too long either, or Hanah might be annoyed, and so, after a few moments, Sarah stopped. "Anyways, sleepyhead, let's go and wake up Sam so we can get some breakfast, alright?" She said, before creating a comb out of shadows and handing it to her. "And fix that hair. You don't want Roy to see you like that do you?" She teased her younger sister.

Hannah had frowned when her sister showed that expression. She had even leaned in to hear her better. All of which contributed to her tickly fate. She yelped in laughter as she ineffectually tried to get her sister to stop. "He- Sar-raahhhh." She whined. When being tickled however Hannah found her powers weaken, almost like it was her kryptonite. She couldn't help but grin slightly after the ticklemonster relented. She proffessed to hating being tickled, but then she said that about being petted and bones, so her word on the matter was not exactly trustworthy.

Hannah paused, her smile reducing ever so slightly at the comment. She could have a dunce cap and not be noticed next to her sister. But she didn't let that bother her now. She yawned as she combed her hair. "Sure." She spoke, "Breakfast sounds nice. Nicer than sleep."

Otis felt his face get hot when Julie grabbed his hand and started talking about how she met a guy who, based on the description she gave, was him. Her grabbing his hand didn't seem to help either. "It-It's fine. Nothing wrong with complaining once in awhile. Helps keep the mind free. Or something like that, I'm not a psychiatrist. Well..." He trailed off, clearly nervous. "Most guys I know, which to be honest isn't that many, most of my friends are girls. In fact, all but one of my friends are of the female persuasion... Most guys like the direct approach. You could always... Just tell him how you feel." He had a crush on her, and as far as he could tell, she had similar feelings.

Julie paused. "Okay." She spoke. "Otis. I really like you. It's not something I say often, or I would normally say after this short a time knowing each other, but I really do like you." She spoke. "I'd understood if you wanted to stay friends. This is a little fast and I'm not exactly the perfect girlfriend. But I have a feeling you like me too. And there's no sense holding back when out emotions tell us we should be together." She spoke, now smiling at the Inhuman.

Finland SSR wrote:Alright, where is that clothing shop? I glanced through a few shop signs. Some souvenir shops, a few florists, jewelry was also hiding there, somewhere... Maybe I entered the wrong district. There was a flow of people to the right - looks like they don't want to be here either. I was so busy with this that I did not even notice someone landing behind me, and only when they spoke right to me did I turn around and looked at them.

Xander and Naja, they say? My eyes flashed red for an instant as I scanned them for information. Interesting lifeforms, I must say. And pretty powerful.

"Uh, you don't have to stare at me like that, I'm not going to hurt anyone." I finally spoke with a reply. "My name is Frank. Frank Mayhem. I'm new here, I'm not familiar with the layout, that kind of stuff. Nice to meet you, Xander and Naja."

Well, since we're here, why not ask the main question? They seem to be a native. "Anyway, can you tell me where in the world is that clothing shop? Every moment that I stay with this black uniform, I keep getting reminded of what happened prior to this meeting."

"With a last name like that, how can I not trust you?" Xander asked still suspicious of the android's motive. Frank was seemingly a normal name. Mayhem? That set off some alarm bells in his head.

"Be nice." Naja said, giving her husband a slightly annoyed look. "He's obviously not looking for trouble. Everyone here has superpowers... And thank you. Pardon Xander, he can be a bit rude. Welcome to Praetoria. We're the ones in charge. It was kind of hard not to notice you flying in at the speed you were. Is there something we can help you with?" While she did think it was strange that Frank was there, she was at least willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Xander however was suspicious of the fact that an android not with any design that he was familiar with, and outputting enough power to level a decent chunk of the planet, was on his doorstep without any prior warning that he was going to have a guest. Xander liked order.

Otis

"You-You... Like, like me?" He asked feeling his face get hot. He felt the same way, however his brain and mouth were operating on two completely different wavelengths. "I-uh, do feeling similar ways about you?" That was not what he wanted to say. Come on brain, we're on the same team here! Nice girl likes us! "I... I have been feeling the same way Julie. You're really nice. And the only girl I know who's stuck with me this long, or wasn't so busy being a deity to hang out... Or both." He said, his face still purple. "Ummm... that's my very roundabout way of say that I like you, and that I want to give us a try. If you want to, of course! We could be cop buddies! Like every TV network has! Or Mister and Missus Smith! Except that we don't work for rival assassination companies, and my analogy is starting to fall apart..."

"So I'm just going to go with a clean and clear yes."

Julie gave a warm smile. "Good. Again, I had a feeling that was the case. And I'm fairly sure Naja and Xander got us together specifically so we could hook up.... or perhaps so they could hook up in another way... Probably both." She commented. Then paused awkwardly. She had not been trained for this, and it was just now occuring to her that she was blushing a tad and looking into Otis' eyes for perhaps longer than normal. Though what was normal? Why did normal matter so much?

"Well if you really wish to solve mysteries together, that's fine." She replied jokingly. "Though I imagine our relationship would be a little more intimate than most cop buddies."

"Ehhh... I get the vibe from Xander that he had no idea what was going on to begin with. He puts off this clueless vibe... I couldn't explain it if I wanted to. I'm pretty sure Naja had everything to do with this..." He said and would have wiggled his toes had he had any. It was times like this that he really wished his parents were still alive so they could give him advice on how to talk to women. "I wouldn't mind solving space mysteries and... Stuff." Julie said intimate. He wasn't completely oblivious as to how sex worked. TV was a great teacher. Good Teacher. Okay Teacher... A teacher. "I... don't think that's a bad thing. Cops typically can't have spouses in the same precinct anyways. But I'm not a space cop. I mean, I kinda was for like... Five minutes. Then Darkseid... Then... Everything else. Then... You."

"Am I being awkward? I hope I'm not being awkward. I have no idea what I'm doing... Which is the summary of my life story." He admitted, on the borderline of sweating.

"Well, yeah. He is sort of like that. Ruler of a nation yet very poor at picking up certain social cues." Julie remarked. "Then again I'm a workaholic Green White Lantern so who am I to judge?" She smiled as she then chuckled at Otis' nervousness. "Don't worry. Youre not being awkward. Or at least not in a way that doesn't endear you even more to me." She spoke quite bluntly. Perhaps too blunty, was she being too forward? She supposed it didn't matter too much. One of them needed to be the forward one. "No one knows what they're doing when it comes to dating. You only get good at it by trusting your instincts. Like a lot of things actually..."

Cora had taken a few days off from her work with the government and had gotten her teammates to cover her shifts on patrol. She told everyone that she wasn't feeling well, and that was only partially a lie. Cora had been so nervous that she was barely able to focus on anything, even training. You see, today wouldn't be just any day, it was Valentine's Day. It wasn't just Katie and Cora's first Valentine's Day as a couple, it was Cora's first ever.

From everything that she had read online and seen on tv, this day was very important. She knew the would have to be very romantic and Cora wanted terribly to impress Katie and meet her expectations. To add even more pressure, Cora had a feeling that this might be the night for them to have... another first. They had been dating for around 4 months now after all, and it seemed like this would be the best time if any.

The reason they had waited this long was mostly because of Cora. She had very little experience and it took her a while to get used to the idea of intimacy. She now wanted this very much, but she was nervous about her total lack on knowledge and experience. She didn't want to embarrass herself in front of Katie and disappoint her.

Cora spent most of her "sick days" researching both of these topics online, as well as going shopping for an outfit to wear that night. She had done a lot of work, but she wasn't sure if she was ready. She was currently laying in her and Katie's bed trying to get some much needed rest and take a break from worrying for a little while.she found herself wondering a bit where Katie might be, and what she was thinking about all of this.

It was then that Katie opened the door, her trademark smile and exuberance about her. She had a small present behind her back, though she kept it stealthily out of view whenever she wasn't twirling, and even then she did it so fast it would be near imposible to notice the prezie. She spun towards her girlfriend, jumping into bed with her.

"Today's the day Cora." She spoke, wrapping arms around her. She was so excited, she could barely contain herself.

The gang members were thrown into disarray as a storm came impossibly upon them and their equipment began to explode around them. A number of men approached the bubble shield with rocket launchers, realizing that Kiris was the cause of the destruction and aimed to bring the source to a quick end. They began to fire on the shield which caused the machine generating it to strain and whir. To make matters worse, an incredibly large man came approaching with a large machine gun blasting bullets toward the shield at high speeds. "It won't be able to hold much longer!" Mars shouted, they were pinned, down and needed to do something about it.

Nico spoke up and turned to Cat, Vera, and Xyri, "Come on, we need to help the others!" He shouted, jumping out of the force-field and creating giant fists of sand to swing at the enemy soldiers, hoping the others would follow suit. He couldn't help but look over his shoulder as he fought, his eyes searching for any signs of his parents, but it seemed that they hadn't been drawn out yet. He didn't know if he wanted to see them there or not. He wanted closure, to know the truth, but he was starting to realize how much that truth would hurt when he faced it.

Xyri took the opportunity to blob out from her hiding place, reforming into the slime girl everyone knew and loved as she put herself between the armed men and the exit. Bullets simply ricocheted off her form as she waded into combat, absorbing as many as she could. She didn't even really need to fight them seeing as these close quarters made it redicolously easy to just absorb them.

Cat on the other hand did much as her brother did, but also kept an eye on him. She knocked out the enemies that tried to attack by touching them. She seemed to be getting better at fighting the more armed people she would touch. Though she had a feeling her skills would fade if she didn't keep up copying peoples memories. She couldn't help but notice, however, smoke of some kind was now filling the room.

Suddenly Xyri felt something drop in front of her. She frowned, the now 25 foot slime girl was crouched to fit in the basement. What she didn't expect was a sudden explosion from the area where she heard something drop, She found herself sent backwards, her mass deminished as it was spread all over the room.

Cat coughed slightly. Then she realised something. Some flash of memory reminded her of this scenario. "It's gas!" She shouted. "Hold your breath!"

Suddenly she spotted another figure among the coughing soliders. One with a gas mask, and orange hair that reminded her of someone in particular. Those eyes she couldn't forget.

Her mother. Stood there with a grenade launcher in her hand, seemingly the cause of the gas and the grenade. She seemed to change it's setting and then point it at cat. "I'm sorry." She said simply. Then she fired another gas grenade.

Alone now I moved silently through a partially destroyed hospital. The dirty tile floors stained with dirt and blood. Papers scattered across the rooms and overturned tables provided a level of decoration only known to the likes of Somalia. My footsteps were light as my rubber soles touched down with each step. My rifle from before was now outfitted with a kit to alter it into a sniper rifle, as I would use it to scout the landscape. Searching for my target, the local leader of the militant forces in this city. Ignored by the outside world, the rebels have been pushed back to this last city. They are disorganized, following only the strongest, but have no organized chain of command. Once the mutant calling himself "Phaeroh" is dead, they will devolve to infighting.

Stepping into a room on the east side of the building, third floor. overlooking a large city square, with burned out cars littering the scene and the former City Hall just opposite of me. Bringing the rifle up, but keeping it inside the window so no one outside could spot me. With nothing but my thoughts with me, memories began to flood back.

Flashback

"I am surprised to see you. What has it been? Two years?" I asked as a young woman, of nineteen years. Her shining brown hair was tied back in a ponytail. Her white lab coat from her internship at STAR Labs showing that she had come straight from work. "Whose fault is that? You dropped off the earth for two years, doing Lord knows what. I had to hear it from Scott you know...that our brother, just days after returning...joins the Dragoon Mercenary group."

I offered her a seat as to allow her to step away from the doorway. But crossing her arms she simply declined. I took the seat instead. Locking eyes with her as I verbally defended myself. "Its the best way for me to make..." She did not allow me to finish.

"Money? Bullshit...you are smart enough to do whatever you want to do. Hell, you could easily get in STAR Labs or even work for SHIELD. In collage you even took an internship at Wayne Enterprises. Dont give me crap excuses." She then sighed deeply. Then leaned herself against the doorway.

"I forgave you...ya know." My facial expression showed immediate interest as my eyes narrowed. Then she continued. "For killing daddy. Scott told me that you believed I still blamed you for it." I asked if she was telling the truth, uncertain if I heard her right. Her tone went sharp as if to scold me.

"How could I still blame you? You were eight years old and our dad had just stabbed our momma. You...tried to protect me." Her facial expression then sharpened angrily.

"What does annoy me you seem bent on using all of your talents looking down a rifle scope...the worse part is, you are not even doing it for a cause. Simple money now...a real mercenary. You have decided to take human life for a paycheck. And as of right now, I am not sure I can EVER forgive that." She then turned to leave, but I shot to my feet.

"Rebecca...I may be a disapointment to you. You may hate my choices, what I choose to do. But we are still family, I love you and...we cannot bury each other as if we dont exist." With that, she turned her head, showing tears had begun to form in her eyes as she stopped for a moment.

"We can try."

That was the last time I saw or heard from her. I still occasionally get mail from my older brother Scott. But that was the last meeting with my sister, but she simply does not understand. I may not be a hero, but life never asked me if I wanted to shoot my own father. Or watch my mother die. Some of us...just do the best we can with what we have been dealt. She and Scott were able to move on, leaving the past where it belonged. They can, Howard Carter's death is not theirs to hold. To go through life, with people seeing you as little more than a killer, I will always be remembered for the lives I took. May as well travel and get payed for it I thought to myself as I awaited a target to cross my sights.

"Waiting for someone?" Spoke a voice. If Daniel were to turn around, he would find himself face to face with a blue woman in some sort of battlesuit, armed with some sort of alien rifle in her hands. Aruvia Kell had a cocky smile on her face, though she was mildly concerned about this mission. For one, she was not nearly as armed as she would be, seeing as she had to take her stealth suit for infiltration purposes, which while it made her hard to detect, had only a fraction of the heavy firepower she would have had before. Still, she had a few tricks up her sleeve, even if she didn't have a sleeve. This armour could be quite a bit less revealing...

The voice startled me. As at first I had assumed that my position was compromised and that I would be dead any moment. Spinning around and pulling a large pistol I held it in the new figure's direction. Aiming a potential shot to the head. But an instant of looking at her revealed that she was clearly not human. Meaning she was no mutant rebel either, not to mention that she was way too armed for that. I then began to answer her question as I voiced out loud what I could deduce from her.

"Does your species always ask questions they already know the answers to? Or is that a personal flaw?" She could not see it from behind my helmet, but I was more than a little concerned. I dot know why she is here, and unknowns are always dangerous in places like this. But, if she was here to kill me, she would have simply done so rather than announce her presence. "You asked a question, so now it is my turn. Is there any reason why an alien and from the looks of it a warrior as well put herself in the middle of a human battlefield? I doubt you are here just to say hello."

I awaited an answer, my eyes unblinking as I locked myself to her, as well as watched the mirror sitting behind her, so that I could still see what is goining on in the square behind me.

Aru had to stop herself from pointing her own gun at him, though she remained calm on the surface. "Well it got your attention. I didn't expect you to answer the question." She spoke. She moved to the side of Daniel, looking in the same direction he had been facing. "That's a long story." She supposed that wasn't enough, so she paused to consider a suitable explanation. "The Rebels have been in contact with people that happen to be my enemies. They were responsible for other attacks on earth and they have stolen something which belongs to my government."

"My turn for a question, seeing as you've had two already." She replied. "Could you please stop aiming your weapon at my face?"

In Asgard
Zaki groaned as she screamed once more. A false scream, the magic coursing through her body meant to torture her was actually pleasant. Her body converted it into usable store magic which she was squirelling away bit by bit. She opened her eyes and took in the room around her. A classic dungeon, with a few Norse twists. She looked to the chains that bound her. Non magical. Just her luck. She could slip from the bonds, but unfortunately starving for so long had stiffened her jelly bonds. She was quite vulnrable at this stage. She needed more magic.

"Where.... Am I?"

"You are in Asgard slime creature." Spoke a female voice. Zaki turned to see the Enchantress, a smile on her face as she looked wickedly at Zaki. "Your the one in league with that tyrant Valka aren't you? Yes... I remember you. You helped her when the slime beings came to attack our realm."

"Xyrixma."

Enchantress shrugged. "As the Midgardians say: "Whatever"" She remarked. "You're brave for a thin slice of pudding aren't you? Don't you race tend on the more... Chunky size?"

Zaki confirmed, she was thin as a bone. Almost cartoonishly thin, which came with being a Xyrixma. What the Enchantress didn't know was that her size was not necessarily an accurate reflection of her power. "Heh. Funny." Remarked Zaki. "Though, really, I wouldn't be talking about weight if I were you...?"

"Oh. The desert has teeth." Enchantress remarked. She sent another burst of magic through Zaki, whom screamed once more. She stored more magic away, not yet enough to break the bonds she had yet. "Perhaps I should ransom you back to Valka's so you can make up for lost size at her Banquet." She remarked, but then noticed one of her minions with a letter. She smiled as she opened it. "But I had a better idea. Why not send you to your own kind for money so they can tear you apart. After all, the enemy of your enemy is your friend."

Zaki chuckled. Enchantress frowned.

"You really think my kind will see it that way?" Zaki asked.

Enchantress laughed back. "And I should listen to my captive? Is that not a bit of a conflict of interest?" With that, she penned a quick note and then gave it to a minion.

Zaki went quiet. This was not good. She could horde all the energy she wanted from her torture, but it was pretty much just love taps. What she really needed to do was scoff down the whole lot. She needed the Enchantress to do something stupid...

In the meantime, it wouldn't hurt to hope that the letter got intercepted on the way...

The alien woman, appeared to be telling the truth. Or, I was just more willing to believe her for some reason. As she explained as to why she was here, it seemed to fit the profile of information I already knew. "Your information sounds right, radical mutant groups have been known to attack populations around the world to draw attention to their cause. For mutants who are supposed to be superior to mankind, they seem to share many of our base instincts." I took a catious step back as I continued to see that she made no aggressive moves, so when she did ask me about lowering my weapons, I slowly complied. After seeing that we may share a common goal, I tried to suggest partnering up for a while.

"Look, my team...separated from me a while ago. And we seem to be here for similar causes. There is an Earth saying, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. It seems to apply here." In order to make working together easier, I decided to give her something to call me. "My nickname in my unit was Killswitch. You can call me that."

Just as I had finished introducing myself, we were both interrupted by what was obviously a mutant, and just as obviously foreign. Speaking of the just cause the rebels were fighting for. At first I was certain I never met him, but as he continued to speak, it was more apparent that he was a upstart mutant hero....

"Gravity, right? That is what they call you? You seem the idealistic type, guessing you are the headstrong type as well. Back home you seem to enjoy letting others take the spot light for you. Good for you, but just so you cannot say you were never given a fair warning, here it is." I took a deep breath, certain this would not work, as the kid has a clear soft spot for mutant causes, but they say the truth helps.

"Take a look around, this is a dufferent world then you ever knew. In New York, you have heros, and you have villains. You think this world is the same way, its not. Take a look around, this city used to be home to six million people, both mutant and human. Now ask yourself real quick, aside from the soldiers and mercs in the city, you see any human civilians? Only mutants, well, all the humans are dead. Murdered by the freedom lovers you flew half a world to help. Listen kid, I wont tell you that you are on the wrong side, and in fact, I am fighting for a government just as bad as your rebels. With just as much blood on their hands. You see, you are now in my world, where heroes dont exist. Where good and evil is not black and white but everything is grey. If you dont leave now, go back to New York, then its your choice. But make no mistake, staying here is not heroic, but you will just be another combatant." I then loaded explosive rounds into the rifle, preparing for the worst.

"Ball is in your court...Gravity." I warned as I flipped off the safety.

As the mercenary loaded his weapon, Callum prepared an outward bubble of gravity around himself that would take away most of the damage, but this guy knew what he was doing. Regular bullets would be easy to deflect, but explosive rounds still dealt some damage, even if it was lessened greatly. As he finished speaking, Callum grew furious, especially angered by the sheer cockiness of the mercenary, assuming he was just a confused simpleton trying to be a hero.

"You think I don't know? You think I'm not completely aware of what's going on here? Things aren't black and white, I know. But I'm going with what I know is right, at least. Why are you here, for a paycheck? I've seen what's been going on here, I know about the corruption, the persecutions, the discrimination. I chose to take a stand. It's the lesser of two evils. And don't you dare say that these streets are empty because of the rebels. Don't forget the airstrikes, the military sweeps... People like you try to pretend what you're doing is right, but at the end of the day, you're here for money. At least I'm trying to do the right thing. To help my fellow mutants. To help everybody. So no, I won't stand down because you have a big gun and a bigger mouth. I'm not trying to be heroic." Callum spat. "I'm trying to help. So do your fucking worst."

He wouldn't kill this guy. But he would still damn hurt him.

Aru pointed her rifle at the Mutant. "The rebels you support are playing with fire Gravity." Spoke Aru, a frown on her face. Not a glare, but a stern look aimed at Gravity. "They've been given something. A weapon. Something they cannot possibly comprehend by so called allies whom see your species as nothing but pawns. I am trying to make sure you don't blow up your own planet."

"If you choose to side with them, you won't be helping." She spoke. "You will be killing millions. And that's a conservative estimate."

Slowly, Hiroshi pulled open the door, a rush of cold air meeting him as he stepped to the side, letting Claudia, Tomia and the Cyborgs he brought along with him into his humble apartment.

" You can set her back in the spare room in you want." Hiroshi commented, addressing Black Sun. " Tomia, you know where you stay when you come here, and Claudia... Um, you can have my room, I can sleep on the couch if... If you want me too."

"That... sounds good." She spoke, not yet sure whether or not Hiro should sleep on the couch or not. Claudia was a little unsure about all this still, and felt herself wishing she hadn't decided to take Hiro back. She still loved him, but there was still niggling doubt that she felt inside.

Sarah could not hold back a giggle as she heard DeeDee catch on to what she was saying and play along with it to continue teasing Samantha. Usually, she would not be happyy to see anyone mess with her sisters, but this person was Sam's teacher, and likely something else given the fascination she exerted over Sam, so she supposed she could let it slip. She laughed further still as she heard Sam's embarrassed reaction and, after calming down, looked towards her teacher. "I'm glad you were gentle with my sister. She has always been a little shy, as you can see." She said, though she decided afterwards that it had been enough and that she could stop teasing Samantha now. Embarrassing her too much would be a torture and her sister would likely be angry at her for it, after all, a situation she much preferred to avoid. With that in mind, she instead turned to the new arrival as he sat beside Hanah.

"Speak of the devil and he will arrive, hmm?" She commented with a chuckle. "Did you sleep well after the terrorist mess?" She asked her little sister's friend. Best to get along with everyone, after all, as she had a hunch they'd be traveling together for a while. "Oh, once this vacation is over, I can train you like you asked to." She said, and paused, snickering a little. Just one more jab wouldn't hurt. "It'll be different training than the one DeeDee is giving my sister, of course." She said, glancing at Sam with a grin.

Hannah was too occupied devouring everything in front of her to say anything to anyone, though she would likely be snapped out of this food eating trance if someone mentioned her name. She didn't even notice DeeDee's tail blunder, though one thing that did get her to snap out of her food nomming was mention of Sarah becoming Roy's mentor. She grabbed a chicken leg but paused before throwing it into her ravenous maw. "Is everyone getting trained or someone to train but me? What am I going to do with you guys busy training each other?" She asked. She was only semi serious, being how she is she didn't really like the idea of being told what to do. But if everyone else was improving their skills, then she should probably hone hers. Then again, more time doing that would mean less time eating... And with their new riches the food just kept getting better...

The sacrifices I have to make... how sad... She thought before picking the chicken leg clean.

Dressed casually, Max went about his day off leisurely, enjoying some tea and watching television, flipping between news reports and cartoons. He was a simple man in private, wearing a white shirt and blue shorts as he drank his iced tea from a tall glass. Val walked through the living room - one that seemed like an up-scale apartment rather than a room fit for royalty - with sweat beating down her brow. "You up for the next session?" She asked, seeing if Mad Max wanted to hit the gym.

"Nah," He replied, "I did my routine this morning."

"Mmm..." Val hummed, trying to see if her life partner was lying or not - Max giving no sign that he was. She sighed, and plopped down on the couch next to him. "Whatcha watching?"

"Nothing. Because nothing good is on." Max said with a dull expression, leaning his head back on the sofa. "We still haven't found any leads on the Xyrixma case." He said flatly, uninformed about their infiltration of their ranks - as all of Madworld was. Without warning, a message appeared on Max's television, causing the King to groan and accept it, listening to an audio recording of one of his Forever Knight Paladins.

"My King, we have a matter that requires your oversight." The armored personnel began, "Our tapping of the Asgardian Teleportation Networks yielded a message addressed to the Xyrixma - the person delivering it a minion of some sort. We scanned the document and put him on his way, but it appears that Enchantress is planning to sell off a Slime prisoner to one of the Xyri's." Max nodded, thinking about the situation intently.

"She is not in good standing with Asgard, and I knew our information agents would find something this juicy since they've been to war with the slimes. Excellent work." Max said, commending the officer, "But we need to capture her prisoner. She may yet yield information that is vital to our efforts here on Earth. Val," He said, turning to his lover, "Let's have you, me, Shatterstar, and Xala be ready to move to their meeting spot. We'll intercept Enchantress and the other Xyrixma." Max ordered, standing up from his seat and ending the return message.

He stood up and clenched one of his hands together, bringing forth a liquid-like material that coated his skin and clothing - the entire process happening all over his body as he revealed his Mad King Armor. "We haven't a moment to lose, Otto will keep the nation running in our absence." He assured Val, who was already up and ready, sending an alert to Shatterstar and Xala to mobilize. "Let's move."

"Did you have to choose somewhere so snowy for a meeting point?" Zaki asked. They stood within a plains in nifflehime, far away from most civilization. Zaki didn't mind the cold so much in this land of supernatural frost, no what really annoyed her was the snow.

"Well I didn't want Valka's goons to discover us." She remarked. Then frowned. "They should have been here long ago. Do your kind have an inclination for tardiness or are they testing my patience?"

"Perhaps they realize that you need them more than they need you."

"Excuse me?"

Zaki allowed herself a smile. "Your irrelevant in the grand scheme of things really. Odins rule allowed you to get away with so much, but now you're afraid that stepping out of line will bring down the wrath of the All Mother as it did with poor Laufrey. And with no Loki to ally yourself with you're left with either utter powerlessness. "

"Now you're testing my patience slime." She sent a jolt of magic through her victim. Zaki convulsed, though she felt no pain.

"Heh-" She spoke. "That tickled."

Enchantress scowled as she sent another stronger magical jolt. Zaki kept lapping it up and faking pain. She just needed a bit more to escape.

"Xyrix wouldn't want you as an ally even if you weren't such a witless, arrogant fool."

"Silence!" She shouted. A large burst of magical energy went through Zaki. She smiled, not bothering to fake any screams this time. This time she just laughed. Then she broke her bonds. Shattered them with the collected magical strength.

"I even have some to spare..." Remarked Zaki, her body slowly returning to a more nourished state.

"How... How did you do that? You were helpless when I found you?" Enchantress spoke, gawking at Zaki.

Zaki grabbed the enchantress by the arm and began sucking all the magic from her. "The key word in that sentance there is "was". I was helpless, but then you gave me a way out. A delicious magical way out."

As Enchantress fell, drained of all her magic, Zaki exhaled, feeling the power within her after so long of being starved. In this moment she even forgot that soon Xyrix's goons would be here...

"Well it seems negotiations have failed." With that I pulled the trigger launching a small barrage at Gravity, to pull the mutants who are with him out of hiding.

Drawing my pistol I thought that I carry several of those knives as I placed two bullets in his chest and one in the head, as my first battle ended, I turned to see how the alien was handling Gravity.

As the mercenary spoke, Callum quickly pulled down his arm, signalling to his allies to attack, and immediately recoiled as a flurry of explosive shells detonated in front of him. His bubble of strong outward gravity stopped the shells dead in their tracks, but force of the change, almost like a solid wall caused the explosives to detonate. Callum's view was immediately obstructed by several explosions, and he yelped in pain as several fragments embedded themselves into his chest and arms. His suit did take the edge off of the heat, at least, so there were no bad burn. Unsure whether to pull out the shards or keep them there, he decided it was probably for the best to leave them be. Callum zipped forwards and charged through the smoke. Seems that the Merc was occupied, so instead Callum turned to the girl, splaying out his hands and increasing the gravity around her fifteen fold. It wasn't enough to break bones or cause lasting damage, but it rendered most opponents immobile.

"Stand down!" Callum shouted as he pinned her under the bubble. "There's no point in fighting! It's two against sixteen!"

Aru grunted from the gravity as it nearly sent her planting her face into the floor, however she managed to stand herself up, just about. She had to get away from the gravity well, and so she suddenly teleported, ending up behind her foe. She pulled out two pulse pistols and fired, a pulse of electromagnetic energy coming out from the guns. She made sure to keep it on a low setting so she wouldn't kill him. "I've had worse odd's before human." She remarked. While she fired repeatedly she made sure to teleport. "

A large orb floated in the middle of Mad Max, Val Valentine, Otto Godblessed, and Xala, acting like a magical camera into the meeting spot where the Enchantress was to hand over her prisoner to the Xyrixma. The gang was situated in a pocket dimension "next" to Niflheim, where they could enter the realm at a moment's notice, but observation was more important at that point. But, as the scene played out, Max watched silently as the prisoner overpowered Enchantress, or rather, outsmarted her by absorbing her magical energies. "Xala," He called out, the slime girl picking her head up to listen, "Do you know this Xyrix?"

"I'm...Not sure." She said honestly, "If I had to guess just based on absorbing magic, her name is Zaki. I don't know her too well, I just know of her."

"I see. That makes things interesting, though - Doesn't it? Xyrixma's have an affinity for specific types of energy they devour, say for example you, Xala, you can absorb solar radiation, whereas this...Zaki, can absorb magical energy. Very interesting indeed, we could have use for someone like that, and by the looks of this and the wording in that letter from Enchantress, it doesn't look like Zaki was going to be exchanged for another prisoner, but ransomed off."

"It seems that Enchantress has picked a nice location for me. I'll empowered in this realm, and I think we may need every bit of power if these Xyrixma are as powerful as warned. But, have our objectives changed? Shall we still take Enchantress' prisoner or leave her be?" Xala nodded, wondering what must be done about Zaki.

"The mission was to take the prisoner for ourselves, Otto. But we'll simply use diplomacy rather than force to take her to our side."

"And if words don't work?" Val asked, watching Zaki intently through the orb.

Max smirked under his helm, "Then we can use force."
BOOM.

A vortex opened behind Zaki, a man clad in armor stepping forth onto the frigid wasteland of Niflheim from the space he occupied previously, a female and male warrior exiting behind him, the crunch of the snow beneath their feet marking their presence, had the impossibly loud Boom Tube not announced it already. Behind those three, though, was a curiosity, a slime creature, a Xyrixma. Max spoke quickly and forcibly, using the Allspeak so that he could be understood. "Zaki, I presume? I am Maxwell Morningstar, and these are some of our Godbreakers." He said, motioning to the ones behind him.

"I have come to offer you shelter from the coming Xyrixma, as I have done with another of your race." He said, Xala moving to Max's side, tilting her head to the side with a smile and a wave.

"Hello!" Xala said cheerfully, "I'm Xala. Haven't we...um, met before, or something?" She said nervously. "Oh it's so cold...." She complained, shivering a bit despite being made of slime. "We...We need to hurry..." She said, turning to Max, who stood stoic and unmoving. "They could be here any moment..."

"Not only that, Xala...But they could already be here."

Zaki frowned as she instantly spun around, the sound having broken her out of her euphoria. At first she thought that perhaps it could be one of the other Generals or Xyrix herself come to take her for their end of the bargain. She was fully prepared to hit them with some sort of magic when she realized they were not all Xyrixma. In fact the one that was there looked rather familiar. Zaki kept her face as nuetral as possible, even though she was fairly sure they didn't wish to hurt her, she reserved judgement for now.

"That is my name, yes." Zaki replied with a slight nod. "Though, shelter isn't quite what I require from my kind..." she replied, though she didn't eloborate.

She offered a return smile to the one Xala gave her. "Oh... yes. I remember you now." He smile weakened slightly. This was the one the council had made the decision on. The one in exile. Xyrix had left her fate to be up to the Generals, and they had decided a prison sentance in all but name. She paused, about to apologize, when she heard the cracks of spacial rifts.

"Turn Traitor. Let us see your cowardly face before you die." Spoke the voice of Kalxanix, one of the 18 Generals. There had been 20, but ever since Rixi grew too large to contact and Zaki herself left the fold, there were only 18. 5 of which were standing behind Kal, as Zaki could see as she turned to face her old friends.

Kalxanix was a red slime, whom absorbed rage, including her own. Just to the right of her was Ziaxia, whom absorbs Gravity. There was Jazia, whom absorbed sound. There was Glaxia, whom absorbed and projected cold, and finally there was Oblixia, whom was leading the group and whom could absorb Thoughts, making her a potent psychic.

"Xala. So that's why you weren't responding to the marshaling order" Remarked Oblixia. "Why side with these fleshlings over your own people? At least tell us that." She spoke, speaking to Zaki too.

Zaki frowned. "We're not traitors." Zaki shook her head. "You've got to know this kind of life is not sustainable."

"It's all we have Zaki. What would you have us do? Die out? Or run after your fantasies with Primordial Ooze?" Oblixia shook her head. "This is the only way." She then turned to Max. "This doesn't concern you. This is a matter between Xyrixma."

Loss breathed in deeply as he returned to the physical world, the shadows around him dispelling. Just outside of them, Madam Fang was meditating. She shook her head slightly before opening her eyes. "Loss." She smirked. "What a pleasant surprise."

Loss rolled his eyes. "The boy will be fine in a day or two. Alex and I established a formal healing chamber in the west wing just for this purpose." He lifted the boy over his back easily.

Madam Fang glanced over at the manor. "Isn't it a bit small to say it has wings? It looks more like a couple rooms on each side, that's it."

He chuckled. "We shrank its outside and made the inside bigger. I can assure you, it's much more impressive inside.

She sighed. "Of course you did."

The two walked inside and to the healing chamber. Inside the stark white room, an antiseptic smell permeated its entirety, and the roof was absolutely littered with various life preservation runes. "They're along the walls and floor too, just hidden." Loss remarked. "Now, if you can watch the boy, I need to make a call."

He left her with the child, pulling out a phone, calling Alex. "You there? We need to talk."

"I'm here Loss." Spoke Alex, whom was swiveling in her room, with little to do since Loss had the students. She had some paperwork to file and do and whatnot, but she was instead practicing the art of procrastination. "What's going on?"

For Tomia at least.

Oh course she can fucking teleport.

Callum cried out as he was suddenly blasted from all sides by burning pulse fire. He quickly discovered that his wetsuit didn't really help against scorching alien weaponry, as his skin burned with each hit. He hastily launched waves of gravity in all directions, hoping to hit the girl, but he already knew they would be far off. Changing tactics, he started ripping up parts of the floor, surrounding himself on all sides with chunks of stone. It managed to block most of the pulse shots, but some still hit him. Luckily, the stone wasn't a barrier. With a grunt, Callum expelled a powerful wave of gravity, firing chunks of heavy rock in every direction, making it impossible to predict, and therefore block, even for a teleporter. He densified himself, to help prevent damage from kinetic damage, and turned around, trying to find out where she was. He'd hit her at least.

She could beat her. Probably.

Aru'va grunted as she was hit by a burst of gravity, rolling as she fought through the pain of impact. However she saw her opponent was preparing some sort of attack, stones. She managed to play keep away from most of them. Though she suffered a gash from an straying rock. She grunted, some of her blood on the rock. She gritted her teeth. "Okay. My turn." She pulled out her sniper accelerator cannon, a larger weapon which should annhilate the rock. She then used her other hand to grab a few disks. Tossing them in the air, they unfurled to reveal they were her drones. She commanded them to rain down hell on Gravity with pulse weaponary while she teleported a bit back.

She carefully lined up a shot. Then fired. Fired two more times for good measure. It would make short work of his barrier at least.

The drones were an unwelcome surprise, but other than that, thing had gone to plan. She had taken the bait. Leave himself partially open. Maybe make it look like the pulse fire had taken more out of him than it actually had. Creating the conditions for his opponent to unleash her full set of weaponry for a final coup de grâce.

And dear god, she had a lot of shit. Those drones were meant to keep him busy while she prepared something else, that much was clear. That being said, it was very tempting to bring up his stone barriers to block the constantly painful, constantly burining pulse fire. But he persevered, (if you could say that). He desperately swerved around in a random pattern to try and escape the scorching shots, but he was still getting hit a lot. In a few seconds, part of his suit had been burnt through, painfully burning his upper body. And where the suit preserved itself, the heat painfully grafted the melting rubber to his skin. It was agony, but as heavy explosive fire smashed into his makeshift shielding, he knew that if he had moved the rock plating up, he'd be dead. He quickly moved to try and throw off the girl's fire, but she was very experienced. Another shot landed expertly in the same area, bursting a hole in the rock. Callum twisted to try and move another piece of rock into the way, but before he could cover up the hole, another round sailed through the hole and exploded into Callum's chest.

Fuck.

The pain was something else, and the flash of light filled Callum's vision. He blindly struck out upwards with what remained of the chunks of rock in an attempt to knock some of the drones out of the air as he was hit, and was sent spiraling backwards. He groped out at the air to try and steady himself, but with a gasp he smashed through the back wall of the building, skidding to a painful halt on the tarmac below.

Callum groaned, and stumbled to his feet, swaying like a feather. He hissed at the pain, squinting through his visor at the blinding whiteness around him. He could already feel he had lost a lot of blood. He didn't have a lot of time until delirium set in.

As his eyes adjusted, the first thing he noticed was that the visor of his helmet had shattered, and plastic fragments had embedded themselves randomly into his face. Blood streamed down into his eyes, making it hard to see. Anybody could see his face now, so Callum pulled off the helmet and tossed it to the side, his curly hair slick with blood, sweat and god knows what else. A thick red scar cut along his left cheek, staining most of his face red with blood. A large amount of his suit had been burnt off and hung in tatters from his chest, scorching hot rubber sticking to his skin. Painful burns covered a large amount of his upper body and shoulders, some also embedded with shrapnel. His breath was wheezy, and each breath caused sharp pain in his chest. One of his lungs had likely been punctured, and some ribs had likely been broken too. A large slice of shrapnel had also cut into his abdomen. There were several cuts and bruises scattered on his arms and legs, and the skin had been scraped raw on the right from his skid out of the building. However, the most interesting thing was the deep gash that had cut through his right wrist. Callum wasn't an expert, but he was fairly sure that cut was the reason he couldn't move his right hand. It flopped uselessly around as he tried to move it. It looked really silly, the way it flopped around.

Where was he?

He was standing outside the building, a few dozen feet away from the wall. Callum could even see the hole he made when he was knocked outside. That was funny. Inside the building, Callum could see the girl he was fighting.

Was he fighting her?

Callum was like, 75% sure he was fighting her.

"You're dumb." Callum giggled as he swept his good hand down, unleashing a wave of gravity with a power so intense the building's supports buckled immediately. In one fell sweep, the building's main walls started rapidly crumbing, and the whole thing twisted. Callum giggled again as the building began to fall apart. he sat back down to watch. It was wet where he was sitting because of the blood, but Callum didn't really mind.

"Xanu's nine hells..." She muttered, as she very narrowly avoided being turned to paste by a falling rock. She felt blood coming down her face as she ran through the collapsing building. She had gotten cut? When? She didn't have time to check the serverity of the cut before she just narrowly escaped the buildings collapsed with a well timed teleport. She coughed, paint, dust and human air getting in her lungs. It could prove problematic later. Especially if the dust were to get into her eyes.

"Right. This ends now." She declared as she pointed her two blasters at him. Her last drone hovered over to her, though she was fairly sure she had at least two left. Perhaps it was trapped by debris? In any case, the drone with her pointed its weapon at the mutant. "You can still leave with the rest of yourself intact. No one needs to do anything stupid." She responded. This was partly a gambit to end this farce before either party was forced to do something drastic. She'd rather not kill any humans if she could help it, rather save that for the seperatists which supported them, and she had a feeling Gravity felt more or less the same way. Still, she doubted this would be effective, so she already began planning her next moves.

Meanwhile John had a question to ask as well, "So you two feel each others physical sensations, does that mean you share each other's thoughts as well? Can you see through each other's eyes and capture each others; experiences?" He asked, before noticing Sarah taking a sip of his drink. He raised an eyebrow and looked at her, but it was more in a playful way than a negative one. She seemed quite comfortable with him, which John enjoyed. Sarah was pushy and a bit aggressive, but John didn't mind. He enjoyed her confidence, and it was a nice change from people who treated him either like a hero to put on a pedestal or treating him like a freak. Sarah wasn't too impressed with his strength at all, and that was quite refreshing.

Internally, Hiroshi cringed as he set his fork down. Now it meant either telling Claudia and abandoning the idea of celebrating Tomia's birthday today, or ignoring the potential danger and letting it be a surprise.

Forcing a smile, Hiroshi tried to push the thought out of his head as he picked up his daughter and set her on his shoulders, a short giggle escaping her as he began walking towards his room, where Claudia was staying. Waking her up meant dealing with the awkwardness of this recurrent relationship, something he'd rather avoid.

" H-Hey Claudia!" He managed, his knuckles rapping against the soft wood." Time to get up."

The door suddenly burst off it's hinges and smacked Hiro in the face. Though the wood avoided Tomia for the most part luckily. "What! What's going on?!" Asked Claudia suddenly, in full panic mode as she thought she was being robbed or something. Seemingly half asleep. She paused, then looked to Hiroshi. "Oh. Hiro! Tomia! I'm so sorry." She spoke. "Um... happy birthday Tomia... Sorry..." She paused, awkwardly moving to see if she hurt Hiro

"One of the students, a Pyromancer, used too much of his power and injured his psyche. I was forced to intervene on the Astral Plane. This boy... He was powerful. Almost too powerful." He sighed. "You may have felt the ramifications of his pain- An abundance of imagined heat, perhaps, or simply a disturbance, a broken sort of feeling in your magic. I believe the effects may have been large enough to spread over all of Oxford, if not England." He paused for a moment. "Madam Fang and I entered the Astral Plane to heal the boy... But we weren't the only ones there. The Shadow King was there. We dispelled his form, but he'll be back eventually- And he won't be happy. We're going to have him, and maybe whatever American allies he has, on our doorstep soon." He frowned. "Damn it." He growled, leaning back in his chair and holding his temple. "Why in the name of all the Gods did I think this school was going to be a good idea? Of course this would happen."

"Listen. Things like this happen. That's why we need this school." Alex Remarked back, suddenly getting out of her chair and throwing on a scarf as she moved to help deal with the situation. The scarf was something she was trying, and hoped would look cool. She also secretly hoped that Loss would notice it, but that was imaterial at this moment. "Imagine if you hadn't been there had he had tried this himself. He would be at the hands of a psychic menace." She spoke. "As for this Shadow King. We need to show him the Magical Academy is going to stand up to him. We need to show that our children are not to be preyed upon. By anyone.

Julie
Julie deflected another nuclear missle from the Yughabagh. The nuke sped off into the inky blackness of space only to collide with the sun, which swallowed it up like a hungry maw. Julie cut through more oi the missles, in some cases telekineticaly disarming them. Meanwhile the spindly constructs that were the Xacoghgans were still having trouble with the white barriers binding their ships. The Xaco ships were comparable to giant spiderwebs in ball form, yet solid and surprisingly easy to stop in place due to the low force. The Yugha were not so easy to contain, their ships like roaring animals. Containing everyone would be a pain. Delecting every laser, missle, nuke or weapon she could was also a bitch, but at least it was feasible. Slightly less so while having a conversation with the two parties themselves.

"You both better stop this now! Or I might be forced to disable your weapons."

That quieted them. The big guns halting their fire.

"You better not be here because of that Manifest. He has no right to come into our affairs." Spoke the Admiral of the Yugha.

"Indeed. This dispute has nothing to do with him or you. And everything to do with them." Spoke the leader of the Xaco

Julie sighed.

"Prince Quoha. I told you, you need to move on."

"Nonsense. These animals must pay for what they have done."

"it was only an accident. Admiral Yoshen even apologized." The raspy voice of the admiral confirmed this.

"Yes. And this posh snob still attacked-"

"Not helping Yoshen." She spoke. Then sighed. "Quoha. Please. Let Buttercup go."

She heard a pause. Then a sniffle. "She... She... She was my favorite teacup! And you broke her Yoshen!"

"I told you! We can't handle teacups! We don't even have hands as a species..."

Julie has to restrain an annoyed groan. Cultural differences and all, but this was just silly... She was lucky she already knew the Xaco fondness for tea.

"Look. Fighting won't bring her back." She amost said it. That would have been bad. "And Yoshen said it was an accident, so what will vengeance bring?"

"I... suppose your right."

Julie smiled. "And you Yoshen."

A pause, then a grunt came over the ring communique. "I'm sorry. Again."

"He doesn't sound very apologetic."

"Well, take what you can get." Julie instructed. And so both fleets turned to leave. Julie sighed as she was left there. "Why do I get all the weird ones?"

A Place We Can all Call Home. Part 1: A Murder in the Big Apple and the Ocean of Death.

To the Martian, death was an ocean. Vast, uncompromising and frightening.

A martian soul floated the seas of death, scattered, fragmented. The pain of betrayal, the sorrow of the ones she loved, the guilt. Yet she repaired, gathering her scared psyche in her arms as she floated down the river. She could not quite remember why she was here. Why she was dead. She could barely hang onto herself. But strangely one thing persisted through her death. A white ring on her finger. It reminded her she had some degree of purpose. Of self. She needed to get back. She was needed elsewhere. Not here. It was not her time.

She floated with the currents, sans direction she drifted. Spiritually and mentally starving, she paddled weakly the sea of broken dreams, of lost souls. She had a raft of sorts, though she was not sure where it came from. She would sit on it for what could be days, what could be years. She really could not tell. She could feel herself bleed into the sea. She still had an open wound, and now she was leaking out of herself, loosing herself.

Then she saw it. A light.

She remembered sitting up as she saw it. As the light caressed her green body in the hollow world of death. It was a welcome friend. She could almost hear something too, a humming. Music? She wasn’t sure, but in the silence of what could have been eternity it was practically a sirens call. It pulled her, as she paddled towards it. She felt it drag her towards it.

The Light got bigger as she got closer, it’s source plain to see, and Julie was surprised by it. She was not sure what to expect in this valley of oblivion, but it was not that.

Julie looked up and down, confirming, what was indeed in front of her.

It was a lighthouse.

New York

A scene of utter horror confronted the New York Police department’s investigation team. They seemed to be in what was, from what they could ascertain, a laboratory crossed with a cult temple. Much of the lab was wrecked or destroyed, as if by some explosion. Some sort of fusion of magic and science. Many of what could be giant test tubes had seemed to be burst open. The test tubes were large enough to fit an adult comfortably, and connected to both the floor and the ceiling. The whole room stunk of what could be burned wires and it was all unusually cold.

The test tubes seemed to be linked up to some sort of altar at the front. On this altar, there was a dead body, pinned to it with a strange blade. It seemed to hum some sort of music. The body was one of a young woman. College age at best. Blood poured from her onto the altar and onto the floor. There were small trenches which led the blood to the tubes.

“This is seriously fucked up,” One police officer muttered.

“What, this sci fi cult shit, or our mysterious detective?” Spoke another.

Near the body was a woman. Her blood red hair and dark red sunglasses already marked her out, but if one looked very closely, they would notice something… off about her. Her movements too smooth and graceful for a human.

“I heard she’s with the feds. I heard she’s some sort of android made to solve crimes or something.”

“I heard she was with SHEILD. She’s some sort of mutant. Like Wolverine.”

“Whatever she is, she aint normal. Not in the least.”

There was a pause between the two officers.

“She’s hot though.”

“Oh yeah.”

Elizabeth ignored the prattling from the two officers, who didn’t even have the wits to gossip out of earshot, and focused on the body. She tilted the corpses head. Then she dipped a finger in the pool of blood. Then she tasted it.

Her eyes widened for a second, pupil dilating. That taste never got old. The feeling didn’t either, it felt just as good as the first time. It was like cocaine mixed with pure adrenalin.

“Um, are you sure that’s wise?” Asked one of the officers. "You know, we don’t want to conta-”

“Shush.” She spoke. “If we want to know what happened here. We’re going to have to see what this girl remembers.”

The police around her looked at her in confusion, before she moved around the altar, tracing it with her finger.

“She came here willingly.” She spoke, the memories already starting to process in her brain, Images, voices, facts. She had to sort through the clutter. She spoke out loud to that end.

“In each of these… was a person.” She paused. “No… a corpse.”

“How… Do you know that?”

“Same way I know you wet your bed until you were twenty four.” She spoke. “I can read memories by drinking blood. I thought I’d help myself when I saw that you cut yourself.”

The police officer paused, then nodded. The rest of them knew it was best to shut up, lest some less savory memories be revealed. All of them had seen enough shit as New York cops to believe her.

She smiled, but then frowned. “This ritual. It was part of some… ascension. Moving to a higher plane.”

“So what, these whackos killed the tube people too…?”

Elizabeth paused. “No.” She frowned, eyes widening. “I think they… succeeded?”

“What does that mean?”

“Not sure. Memories become scattered. Not much else she can tell us.” She spoke. Then walked around. “Though… There does seem to be a… survivor.”

“What? But there’s no-one here.”

The detective did not elaborate, save to move around the room, until she saw something amid the wreckage. Another test tube like the others that had been broken, though it was intact. It was filled with liquid, and the glass had fogged up. Elizabeth used her palm to wipe away the condensation. What she saw only confused her further.

“A martian?” She asked.

One of the officers moved to see, crouching to look at the tube.

“That’s Ju’lee Malaan. She’s a Green Latern. One of the Justice League or something.” Spoke the Officer.

“Didn’t she die or something?” Asked the detective. “There was going to be a funeral. Three days. Why is she here and… alive?”

“What?”

“She’s breathing and her heart is beating.” She spoke, getting odd looks. “Trust me, I know.” This only cause those looks to intensify.

“Are you a vampire or something?”

“That’s really beside the point.” She got up. “I wonder. What does our mysterious cult have to do with a resurrected Martian?"

"This is fucking wierd."

Elizabeth cracked a smile. "That it is." She then frowned. "Though, I have a feeling this is going to get even weirder..."

He even began tapping his head in thought. Finally, his mouth opened "I swear to god if another pink guy shows up I'm fucking freaking out. Hardcore style. I'll actually shatter this planet with my anger" The young man liked to believe this was possible but it wouldn't be.

His eyes slowly scanned the horizon, he did think it was kinda cool the alien people bled purple. Internally though, he had no way of knowing what had done the destruction in the area. His 'I can sense power levels' thing still seemed to only work with Hiroshi...who was feet away.

Hiroshi:

" God damn it! Shut the Hell up!" Hiroshi snapped, glaring furiously at Adrian, as if daring him to speak again. Glancing around, emerald eyes scanned leveled building after leveled building, with not a single energy source within them.

'Fuck. I haven't seen anything like this since Freiza...'

Suddenly, Hiroshi's thoughts were cut off as a power appeared at the edge of his mind. Slowly his mind reached out as his heart beat slowed, the picture of a furious battle piecing itself together within his mind.

'A Namekian... An Acrosian...'

Letting the body he had rolled over fall back into the mud, the Hybrid felt rage settle on his chest as golden energy whipped around him, electricity scattering off his frame and along the cracked earth. Without a word, Hiroshi rose to his full height, a savage look morphing in his features as energy opened keys across his body.

" Can you fly?" The Super Saiyan asked simply, turning to look at Adrian.

Claudia set foot on the planet, attempting to be as stealthy as she left the spacecraft. She looked around, seeing little but blue grass. But for some reason she could feel the life around her, especially the energy of Hiroshi. Other energies she could feel too, strong ones, though unlike power levels she couldn’t gage their power.

“You were right Glacia, he is here.” Remarked the Red Hulk. “Do you think he’s…”

“No. I don’t think he’s cheating on you.” She replied, taking out a scouter. “He’s powered up to Super Saiyan.”

“Well that’s good at least.” Claudia replied, folding her arms. “Why does he do this? Does he think he’s protecting me?”

Glacia ignored her, instead narrowing her eyes. “Interesting…” She remarked. Lord Frost. Her scouter was an advanced model, programmed to search intergalactic databases once given a power level. “I thought he was dead…”

Claudia frowned, then sighed. “Well, thanks for the lift. I’m gonna go after my boyfriend now.”

Glacia nodded absently. Then disappeared, becoming invisible with her latest form.

Claudia sighed, then leapt, jumping towards Hiroshi.

New York, Police Station

“We may have a slight… problem Ma'am.” Spoke Elizabeth’s partner, John Baker. She was the more senior of the pair, both in rank and in age.

“What would that be?” She said simply. As John began to reply, she couldn’t help but notice the glass of blood in her hand. She was definitely an odd partner to say the least. A real life vampire. John wasn’t sure whether he should be intrigued or… afraid.

“Well… Our Martian was taken today.”

Elizabeth frowned, then blinked. “Taken?”

“Bunch of SHIELD types. A whole of Suits and goons. There were more than a few guns. We couldn’t stop them.”

Elizabeth looked up from her research and then sighed in frustration. “Dammit…” She muttered. “They probably want to experiment on her body or something. Martian’s being rare. Or at least they don’t want an alien body to be available to potential Terrorists… They’ll probably come to us with NDA’s and threats if past experience serves me right.” She muttered. “Sure fucks us over.”

“Well it’s not like we were going to wake her up anyway, doctors said she was completely comatose.”

“True.” Remarked the vampire. She got up out of her chair and looked at her watch. “I may have an idea of where we could find answers though.”

“Where?”

The vampire walked out the room, but continued talking, expecting George to follow. “Well, where better to ask people about a dead person than a funeral? Her’s is in an hour or two.”

George’s eyes widened. “You’re not serious…”

“I’m dead serious.” She replied. “We need to learn her connection to this cult stuff, and other than that freaky sword there’s no leads, plus DNA testing is going to take forever on that thing and we need something to do before I die of boredom.”

George sighed, but followed her.

[b]Julie’s Funeral[/i]

The funeral was a traditional type, funded by the justice league as Julie had not made plans for her funeral surprisingly, save a will. The service had just finished. The League was there, or at least all that could come. John and Hal were there, as well as the Martian Manhunter. Various other heroes were there as well, looking over the empty casket, including a vampire and her partner.

Nothing. He couldn't get there it seemed, but then again he had already given the advice to Hiroshi to hit him to get him going. So he just waited for that, his arms crossed.

Hiroshi:

'This better not be some fucking joke.' Without a second thought, Hiroshi pulled back his arm, muscles tensing before he struck out with his full force, the back of his hand crashing across Adrian's face. The boom that rumbled out from the strike leveled any remaining structures around them, trees and streams nearby stirring and trembling as the shockwave rolled over them.

Breathing angrily for a moment, the Hybrid stared over the path of destruction he'd made. For a moment, he half expected the human to pop up from the rubble and lash out at him like every other fight he had been in.

Hiroshi's anger morphed as he saw a familiar figure land on the outside of the village, his anger morphing into inner panic as he looked over her. She couldn't be here for any good reasons, and the only he could think of was so she could yell at him for coming here instead of searching for Tomia, or maybe she thought he was cheating on her again. Kami, who knew anymore?

" Um... Hey?" Hiroshi offered, awkwardly shifting his feet as his emerald eyes looked over her.

Claudia paused as she moved from a crouch to a standing position, her arms folding as she looked at him. “I thought you were looking for Tomia.” She spoke, a little stern in her tone, but then she sighed, uncrossing her arms, maybe she wasn’t being fair. “What are you doing here Hiroshi? What’s going on?"

Sarah's eyes went wide once again as she witnessed her attack cause no damage to the wizard. Normally, her tendrils of darkness would at least pierce through his body, and though he did not seem to suffer from damage in the same way normal humans did, as he had demonstrated to be able to talk while being little more than a head during their last encounter, she at least was able to cause some impact. Now, however, her shadows had been utterly helpless against him, displaying the shift in his power and clearing up beyond any shadow of doubt that they were not prepared to deal with him at the time. The eldest of the Grimm sisters did not know how they were going to escape from him this time, as he was far more powerful than before, but she had to think of something. She couldn't allow her sisters to be captured, not when she had personally cared for them for over ten years.

Suddenly, a fireball was shot towards her, and, frozen in place as she was, Sarah could not react. Fortunately for her, she was tackled by John, who landed on top of her, something she would likely have enjoyed were it not for the hardness of the ground and the fact that there was an evil wizard trying to kidnap and/or murder everyone. Afraid of what the wizard would do, she tried to get up, only to see John being caught by his hand, unable to free himself. At this, the pale woman scowled, looking back towards her sisters, who were still near the limousine.

"Sam, get Hannah and Roy out of here, quickly!" She shouted at her younger sister, hoping she would comply, before turning towards the wizard. The tendrils had not worked, but she had to think of something. Usually she would rely on her power over blood and her natural good looks to get what she wanted, but that was impossible in this case, as neither of those things affected the wizard and her few offensive abilities did not seem to damage him either. Even then, she had to try, and so, she exerted her command over the shadows once more, causing them to emerge from the ground and coalesce around her hand, spreading across her entire arm, forming into a gauntlet of sorts which held a large sword. Strengthened by the power of darkness, Sarah brought down the blade on the wizard's stretched arm, hoping to be able to free John with that attack.

"Let him go, you monster!" The black-haired woman screamed.

"You wound me with your words Sarah." The Wizard taunted. "Funny, as you have not yet harmed me with your paltry powers."

Suddenly there was a savage growl as a black form seemed to appear as if from out of nowhere. <"Eat claw creep!"> The black form seemed to belong to Hannah, whom seemed to have a Pantherlike grace to her. She attacked the wizard, looking to sever the arm which held her sisters boyfriend. She swiped at him, only for the wizard to duck out of the way. Hannah followed up with other strikes, but none of them seemed to land, the wizard seeming to have some sort of magical celerity, or perhaps he was predicting her swipes before she made them somehow. Then Hannah felt a force collide with her as she slid backwards, growling. She vanished once more, seeking to find another opening to attack and free John.

He's got all sorts of spells. And he seems to have learned a few new tricks.... This is going to be tough.

The Starlight wrote:Craig landed in a flash of silver, kneeling with two prone Dathomiri he had taken out on his arrival. As he rose slowly, making sure to look back at his entrance later on in order to make sure it was dramatic enough, he turned to Etla, a smile stretching across his face as his wings folded back into his armor. "Hello, Etla," he said, striding toward his lover as his Silver Legion of robots arrived on the scene, Craig's AI, B.O.T. taking over the ordering of the battle. The couple stood there, for a moment, absorbed in each other's presence, Craig marveleing as always as the sun glinted over Etla's golden hair, his hand rising up to her cheek, before lightning crackled near them, a reminder of the ongoing battle. "First to 100?" He asked with a cheeky smile towards Etla. "And I won't include the Legion."

Noticing Etla's companions, he waved over to them, quickly greeting them. "Hello! I'm Craig, Etla's boyfriend. These fellows here are a race known as the Dathomiri. I haven't had time to fully hack into their systems, but, I figure that there isn't much need for that right now. They invade, and we defend, and so the cycle continues. We better get to it soon, we're the only thing that holding them back from establishing a foothold, and Valancy and Storm," he said, nodding up to the two women among the Dathomiri forces, "can't hold Africa alone."

Valancy and Storm were indeed attacking the Dathomiri fortified position, Valancy sending roots through the ground far ahead of her, thick vines growing up and ensnaring men and cannon alike, Storm supplementing her with lightning, to fry the circuits of the artillery. As for the Dathomiris they were among, they were either dragged into sinkholes by the grass or blasted, however, in a more entrenched position, a huge amount of artillery had been fired at Craig's Silver Legion.

Craig, receiving real-time data from B.O.T. was about to have each of his units activate their personal shields when he was beaten to the punch. A large force-field was suddenly exuded over his forces, and Craig, turning to Second Sight for a moment, his eyes turning an electric blue, before he proclaimed, with a hint of some unknown emotion, "Magic."

He turned to the magician, lifting an eyebrow. "Yup. Craig Thomsen, Defender Extraordinare," he joked, offering a nod of his head in thanks. "Let's not give them a chance to do that again, " he commented to no one in particular as he reached out through the Cyberspace to several artillery guns, easily taking control of them with his power, giving them ground and airborne Dathomiri troops and equipment as targets, smiling in satisfaction as they began to fire.

He turned to Etla once again, a crooked grin shooting up on his face. "Last to 100 has to watch the winner eat all the doughnuts back home!" he said as he shot off, wanting to get a head start so he could have the satisfaction of jokingly taunting Etla later, knowing that they both loved doughnuts.

"Yup. Craig Thomsen, Defender Extraordinare,", he joked, offering a nod of his head in thanks. "Let's not give them a chance to do that again, " he commented to no one in particular as he reached out through the Cyberspace to several artillery guns, easily taking control of them with his power, giving them ground and airborne Dathomiri troops and equipment as targets, smiling in satisfaction as they began to fire.

The Dark Lord nodded as he followed along, seeing Craig take control of one of the Artillery guns cybernetic ally as it fired on the other Dathomiri artillery. Dark Lord peered back to a few Dathomiri troops lining up to fire on Craig, and with the brush of a hand, he summoned Undead Thralls from the ground, as they clawed up from the hard rock and sand. The Dathomiri infantrymen screamed as the Thralls dragged them underground. "Always fun using those" The Dark Lord remarked, he peered over to see a woman with Snow White hair fire on Dathomiri forces with a large amount of lightning, the reflection of which glimmered off of The Dark Lord's armor a bit, "At this rate the Teleportation Matrix will be captured within the hour, however we do not have enough time, and it will only take us to a side vessel".

The Dark Lord extended one of his hands towards Craig,
"Introductions are in order, I'm The Dark Lord, Deity ruler of The Void".

Suddenly Dathomiri troops began to drop rapidly from out of nowhere, many being sliced in half as if some sort of sword was cutting through them. Some attempted to fight back against this invisable assailant yet all they really achieved was flailing at the air. Those with the ability to see beyond sight might be able to spot a Humanoid with red hair slicing through enemies with a Rainbow blade of some sort. Her face was serious as she cut through Dathormiri like a scythe through wheat. It seemed when attacks are flailed at her, they simply go through her body, as if she is mere smoke or a mirage, her density core protecting herself from attacks as she picked them off one by one.

She then noticed Craig, chopping her way towards him as she decloaked. "Hello Craig." She started "You wouldn't happen to know where my sister is?"

Blood...

I'm covered in blood...

Lisa opened her eyes and looked around, seeing she was lying prone among a puddle of blood, her entire body was covered with it. She could not remember why she was covered in blood, nor reason why exactly it was a concern for her, but she could not help but scream, getting up and hyperventalating. She looked around, confused, scared and horrified. She realized oxygen was not getting into her lungs. Lungs? Wait. Did she even have lungs? She opened her mouth, breathing in, but no air followed. Her mouth was not designed that way it seemed. Designed? Oh God...

She got up, trying to remember how she got her, or anything at all about whom she was. She knew some basic things about how the world worked, but there were things she could not explain. She looked around once more, seeing she was in a basement with a poker table and three corpses. Parts of their body were severed, heads, torsos and even limbs. Lisa did not understand, was she one of them... or... or did she do this? Why would she do this? Who were these people?

She needed to get this blood off her. But how? She knew water was a way to get blood off, and she had some odd memory of a strange device which poured water if you turn another special device. It was worth a shot. She moved upwards, going towards the stairs and then going upwards. Then she did this once more to get to the second floor. Here she found a room with what she thought was the device. She looked it up and down, then turned on the water. She let it fall on her body for a few seconds. She paused, wondering if she should be feeling something. She remembered feeling. When something touched you, you... felt something. She didn't. The drops of water were no different from the air before.

She sat down in the fetal position, grabbing her legs and frowning. She also remembered something called "Crying" which was supposed to make you feel better. She never found out if it would work, she tired and tried, but the only water that ran down her face was the water from the shower.

After precisely 43 minutes and six seconds, she got up, Then she remembered there was some sort of exit to this house. She had saw it on the first floor. One of the few memories which she could confirm she discovered herself. She got up, walked towards the door, and then stopped. She wasn't quite sure how to move through it, but then noticed a knob. She pulled it downwards, then pushed. The door opened.

She walked through. it was dark, yet she could still see. She did not need much light to see.

In the dark she noticed three people, each with some sort of black jacket and holding some tool. A sharp thing with a black handle. Then looked to her, then smiled. Lisa smiled back nervously. Maybe they were friendly?

"Um, hello?" She spoke. "Would one of you be able to tell me where I am?"

"You're in our turf bitch, thats where you are." Spoke one. "Still, I might let you by... If you do us a favour."

"Favour?" Lisa asked, confused.

"Yeah. You're a fine ass young woman." Spoke the leader, walking towards her. "I'm sure there are lots of... favours you can do for us..."

Lisa started to move backwards a bit. But two of them grabbed her by the arms and the leader stood in front of her with a knife. "Where you going darlin'? We're just getting started..."

Suddenly, Lisa began to fight back, moving wildly. The two men holding her at first compensated, but then suddenly Lisa's eyes went red and her arms became suddenly much thinner. Like blades they sliced through the two guys, though she only hurt their arms, leaving them alive. Then the leaders eyes widened. He was shaking as he saw the red eyed woman in front of him.

"Shit! I didn't know you were a mutie! Please, I don't want to fuck with no mutie!" He dropped his weapon and cowered. Lisa's eyes returned to normal.

"Oh..." She looked around, seeing the blood again and the two weeping men. "Oh... I'm sorry." She spoke, almost forgetting the two men tried to attack her. She paused, looking around, then ran.

As swiftly as possible, Sarah jumped into the way of the wizard's attack, shielding Hannah from it. Yet, even though she was still armed with the gauntlet of shadows and used it to block the attack, her entire arm hurt from the sheer impact. Hannah would've likely sustained less damage from the attack, even with nothing to shield her, but Sarah did not think of that. Besides her own frailty, her greatest weakness was her concern for her sisters, which often kept her from acting rationally. To make matters worse, despite Samantha's attempts to keep Roy safe, the wizard had now taken hold of him as well, meaning that now, he had not only one, but two hostages that he could use against them if he so wished. The black-haired woman frantically alternated her gaze between the two captives and her sisters, wondering how she should proceed.

Eventually, she made up her mind, and, taking a deep breath, she slashed at the arm that was currently holding Roy, managing to sever the limb, which was less flesh and bone and more sheer chaotic energy by this point. Regardless, the shadows cut through it, releasing Roy, but the hand quickly reformed at the wizard's side and he proceeded to backhand Sarah while she was distracted, sending her flying back and crashing into the flipped-over limousine, letting out a sharp cry of pain. She was fragile, and battles like these were not a place for her to be, not to mention that she was already growing tired, even though they had only fought against the wizard for a short time. Things weren't looking bright.

Meanwhile, the wizard teleported away from the reach of the sisters, standing atop a nearby rooftop and laughing maliciously as he held John in his grasp.

"She has chosen, brave knight! Do you see? She has made a choice, and it wasn't you." He teased the struggling man as his twin yellow eyes glared at Sarah. "She freed the boy instead of you. I wonder if you would have saved her from me if you knew she would do this?" He asked, turning his gaze towards John, having suddenly grown deathly silent as he watched his response, all while Sarah helpessly observed them below.

<"SARAH"> Shouted Hannah as she ran towards her sister who had just taken a hit. She growled as she looked towards where the Wizard was, still having his scent, but then looked to her poorly sister. She sighed as she picked her up in her panther arms, cradling her big sister. She mournfully looked down as she saw her sister hurt. <"Sarah, are you okay?'> She knew Sarah was frial, and that she could have tanked those blasts. She was the tough one after all. It was her responsibility to take the hits for them.

What’s going on?"

Hiroshi:

Lowering his guard, Hiroshi let his fair fall back to black, his eyes timidly looking away.

" Well... Um, this guy here, asked me to train him... So I am?"

He had no idea why he was so nervous. It wasn't very Saiyan at all to shake in your boots while your significant other reprimanded you like a child, but Earth had shown him that there was scarier things then demons and Legendary Super Saiyans. If it was true Saiyans thrived on battle and conflict, then Claudia really shouldn't be to suprised he was here.

Claudia frowned. "So, let me get this strait..." Claudia spoke. "Your daughter is missing, and I am working my butt off to find her. And some random person asks you to train him on this fucking backwater, NOWHERE near where Tomia could be. And you say yes?" Claudia asked, raging.
