Cora
Cora saw Katie looking over her and frowned when she heard the scared tone in Katie's voice. She knew she must have been fearing the worst, especially after what had happened to Eric. Cora took Katie's hands and gently looked into her eyes. "I'm fine Katie, I promise." She said sincerely. She decided that was all she needed to say. It wouldn't have helped anything to tell Katie not to worry. Cora knew she would anyway. "So you all saved the city? I didn't get to watch much of it, but the fight seemed awesome." She then turned to Katie and smiled, "I'm so proud of you." She said, grinning a bit.

Charmera wrote:"I hugged someone for the first time before today." She remarked with some joy, gently releasing Jamal. It was the smaller Xyri speaking now, not the larger one. She sighed slightly as she bent slightly so she could see Jamal, noting that he was about two thirds her height. She noted also that he was rather tall for a human. "I think I like it. I can understand why it brings comfort." She remarked.

"First time? Like, ever?" Jamal frowned slightly behind his helmet. "I can't imagine something like that. Humans naturally seek out hugs because of the release of chemicals like dopamine from the hypothalamus that stimulate feelings of pleasure." He paused for a second before realizing that he went off on an unnecessarily complicated ramble that might confuse Xyri again. Damn, Worldmind really was rubbing off on him.

"Er, sorry. That doesn't really matter." Jamal said, rubbing the back of his head. "Besides, I doubt that something like that applies to you anyway. A social animal in general would likely gain pleasure from close physical contact of that nature because it quells worries of existential insignificance." He paused again. "Basically, it takes our mind off of worrying about death and makes us feel important."
"The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders. raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did."—former Nixon domestic policy chief John Ehrlichman

The Starlight wrote:She nodded in agreement as Kylie began her mini-speech, Valancy shrugging on her iconic longcoat. "I'm in," she stated simply, with a smile. "New York is in sore need of damage control. Though Kylie, did you really have to step on the table?" Valancy asked with a chuckle, the group hearing creaks from Kylie's weight before Valancy mended the cracks so that it wouldn't collapse.

"Maybe I did!" Kylie beamed proudly. She wasn't that heavy, Val was just exaggerating. Nevertheless, she stepped down from the table after giving her speech and flew out to the city to protect the people. It was a tough job, with all the angry former heroes going at it, but someone had to do it. Carrying buildings, restraining heroes, and rescuing the stereotypical forgotten child in a precarious situation, Kylie did it all. Much to the benefit of the population of New York.

Eventually, things started to settle down. Kylie flew up to where her friends were with a casual wave. "Hey, everyone. Just kinda rescued a few dozen people from a collapsing building... No big deal, really, at least the fighting's almost done." She looked at Alex with... intrigue. "Oh yeah, I do remember seeing you somewhere. Famous guy, this one is. Naja, I'll try not to get too mad at him." Kylie stuck her tounge out at Alex and laughed.

Empire of the Siberian Flaming Eskimos wrote:Del: Time to run from HYDRA.

Valancy Stirling

While the others had gone, she was on patrol above the city, keeping watch for any more fights involving the Registration Act. Sounds of gunfire erupted around her, and the daughter of Gaea leaped from building to building to follow the sounds. She looked down, still atop of a building, seeing HYDRA Agents chasing a cab. Once they got out of the car, she jumped, her feet connecting hard with an agent's back, sending him to the floor. Teleporting to a tree just as the other agents started firing she assessed the situation. They were shooting haphazardly to get the woman, and she rushed out again, turning her body to wood as she healed a few of the civilians, Valancy looking up to see the woman running, the agents following.

Valancy followed, skidding to a stop at the sign of a police car. "Establish a perimeter for a few blocks and circle around to try and contain the HYDRA Agents." she barked out, already turning to leave when the response came. "And why should I listen to you?" the policeman asked, seeming angry. Valancy, seeing a HYDRA agent attempting to sneak up on him, snapped her fingers, the limbs of a nearby tree grabbing the man and restraining him. She lifted an eyebrow at the police officer, who began to follow her instructions, Valancy teleporting to a tree just ahead of where the woman was running. As she passed, Valancy snatched her, hiding her behind a tree and covering her mouth to prevent any sounds that would alert HYDRA of their position. She removed her hand from the woman's mouth and began. "If we're going to have any chance of defeating these fellows without more civilian casualties, we're going to have to set up a trap. There's an alley up ahead. Act as if you're injured, be the bait. Once they enter the alley, I'll be behind them and you can stop the act and join in," she whispered.

Craig Thomsen/Silverwing

The artificer looked down at his chest to see a rather nice-looking turkey sandwich. Looking up to the golden-haired Rainborn and seeing the destroyed apron, he raised an eyebrow, wondering what madness had occurred in the kitchen with Mayla. And it was just a sandwich. He noted to himself that when Christmas came around, he should probably do the cooking. "Yes ma'am," he said with a smile, pressing a kiss to Etla's cheek. He couldn't live on doughnuts, unfortunately. Taking a bite, his eyes widened. The sandwich was rather good. Perhaps it was that he hadn't had a sandwich in a year, but it tasted delicious. Giving a thumbs-up to Etla, he dug in heartily, finishing the sandwich. "Ah, it's been so long since I've had a sandwich" he stated, sighing in delight. "Remind me to show you how to make peanut butter sandwiches, Etla. It ought to be loads of fun," Craig taking a look at Etla's apron again and snickering. "And they're delicious too."

He looked at the orb in his hands in response to Ihra's question. "Hello, Ihra. This, is something I made in the past few hours. I call it the Orb of Cognition. Originally, I made it to try and find a way to solve this crisis with the Registration Act and all. As you both know, Daniel and Mayla are from another universe, giving more proof to the String Theory. The String Theory hypothesizes that the multiverse is a theory in which our universe is not the only one; many universes exist parallel to each other. These distinct universes within the multiverse theory are called parallel..." Craig looked up to say two rather bored faces at all this. "Ok. Basically, there is another copy of me in another universe, talking to you guys. In another universe, there is a copy of me doing something else. There could be infinite copies of me in an infinite amount of universes. Moving on. I thought that by finding a way to access these parallel universes, I could see how they solved their Civil Wars, and that I might apply it to our reality. However, I was unable to do so, and that would tear holes in space and time which would be very bad."

"So what this orb does is scan things, technological, biological, pretty much anything. It can also create holograms, and a few other things. For example," Craig speaking to the orb, "Scan me." A hologram of Craig's body was quickly projected by the orb and a blue light scanned him, the hologram showing Craig's status, health, age, threat assessment and powers. The young inventor let go of the orb, and it stayed in the air, Craig reaching out a finger. "That's interesting. It seems like I've gained some new powers over the year, some from that place," Craig's gaze darkening for a moment in memory before it cleared, "And from the Core. Telekinesis, apparently, along with will empowerment."

Elena Galadera/Stormlight

A few days later...
Once they had all finished talking and Jamal had cleaned up after them, Elena had led them to an abandoned warehouse where they had temporarily sent up shop. From then, she had contacted Batman, and he had, surprisingly agreed to using his resources to build them, or find them a tower.

Back in the warehouse, when they had finished introducing themselves to each other and telling their powers, they had assembled on the second floor. The warehouse was designed so that the only ceiling was the roof, the warehouse having an inside balcony on each floor.

Speaking up, she began. "We fought together once, and we defeated the bad guys pretty well, but we still need to work on being a team, as its early days. And one of the important components of a team is trust. You have to trust the person watching your back, or you'll be distracted looking over to make sure you're covered, making yourself vulnerable. Thus, the only way I figure that we instill that trust in each other is this way. One by one, we'll all stand on the railing here and let ourselves fall. On the ground floor there will be one person, waiting to catch you. Whoever's on the ground will have to catch the person falling, or that'll destroy the point. I've placed a large mattress on floor so that if you don't get caught by some reason, you won't die or suffer serious injuries. Who wants to go first?" she asked with a grin, flying down to the mattress and putting her arms out to catch whoever would go first.

"And the other thing we still need is a team name!" she shouted up to them. Any ideas?"

"You ask why I do not show typical displays of emotion common to American culture such as arm waving, smiling, or other such movements? My internal systems can replicate and process emotion, but unlike sentient life, I do not feel things as it is commonly understood. Rather my emotions are based on logical and cultural responses that I have been programmed with. Though I feel things in a philisopical sense, I don't actually have physical reactions to emotions like organic life forms would."

Eldara
Eldara inspected the target as he loomed up over her. She called up her combat situation programs. Highlighting Ice Age as the target for attack. Immediately her cyber mind began to fill up her vision with possible actions and the outcomes of each as it analysed the situation. She reacted with a simple cylinder of bronze energy hurled at Ice Age with enough force to stop him in his tracks if it hit. She turned to Ara,
"I'm going to try get him down, when he's down or at any other opportunity you see, strike him down."
She replied as bronze light emitted from her before she began to lift away from the clutches of gravity. She flew in close to Ice Age, firing off gouts of orange flames from her flamethrower.

Taro
Taro looked from the pack to the newcomer as he was instructed to accompany him and assist with destroying the Oni. He nodded quietly and turned to the odd human as the ex-prisoner ripped a pipe from the wall. He sighed and proferred his sword hilt to the stranger.
"You may borrow my blade. I can make do with out it."
He said, in a tone that spoke not of eagerness but that he simply wished to have this situation over with. He was not well versed in escorting a friend, or in fighting with someone that might get in his way. Something which made him reluctant about the entire group, but he had found they tended to steer clear of where he was so far. His eyes meanwhile, spoke of unspeakable horrors that would befall the borrower of his blade should it be stolen or broken.
"The sooner we slay these Oni, the fewer tricks they will have prepared for us."
He said as he started towards the direction Masami had indicated for the Oni. His glyph pulsated rhythmically as he inspected the world through an astral predator's eyes.
"You . . . Are not simply human."
He murmured indifferently as he glanced towards their newfound ally.

Mars and Rocket
Mars and Rocket followed Elena to the abandoned warehouse, though he was still a little weary about the idea of joining this team. Mars had never worked well with others and he had serious trust issues, so he was very skeptical about whether or not this would actually work out. The abandoned warehouse wasn't too bad at least, it reminded him of his secret lab below a parking garage.

When they started introducing themselves Mars didn't say much, not giving people a lot of information about him. After some prodding he had ruffianly given them his last name, but hadn't said anything about his past or of his special ability to control machines. He listened intently to the others speak however. Despite his flaws, Mars was a very quick listener and thanks to his superhuman intelligence he absorbed the information instantly. The only one who he had seemed to warm up to was Kiris, but even to her he wasn't very talkative but he was more responsive to her questions than the others.

Then Elena led them to the second floor and had apparently set up some kind of trust exercise for them. When Elena explained what it was Mars took a step back. "There's no way I'm doing this." He said firmly. It wasn't rational, but in his mind this was some kind of trick where he was going to fall then no one would catch him and everyone would stand around laughing at the idiot who fell on the mattress. If he thought about it rationally it didn't make much sense, but trust was the one area where Mars didn't seem to consider rationality. He genuinely believed that no one would actually want to be his friend and had to have kind of ulterior motive when they interacted with him.

Del was caught completely off guard as Valancy swung her around and hid behind a tree. On reflex, Del quickly grabbed her arm, spun her around, and shoved her against the tree while pushing Valancy's arm painfully behind her back as her system's automatically identified her assailant. Suddenly she started listing off statistics from HYDRA's database in a quick and monotone voice, her expression mostly blank. "Name: Valancy Stirling. Age: twenty five. Gender: female. Synopsis: Valancy shows unique powers pretaining to plant and animal life around the globe and seems to have many super human traits. Her strength, speed, and reaction time all rival that of one of our most prominent assets, Delta-8256. If turned she would be a valuable asset, but her character shows little susceptibility to mental breakage and low empathy to our cause. Advisory: Termination." Then, just as quickly as she had attacked Valancy she let go and stepped back with a furrowed brow. "Sorry, you caught me off guard," she mumbled to herself as she rubbed her temples, "damn nervous habits get me still," she said referring to her synopsis of Valancy. "Yeah, that's a good plan. I can't let more people die. Just don't take too long." With that she continued running and pulled her pistol again, firing off some rounds at the now much closer HYDRA agents. Soon she got to the alley and started backing up. She was wondering just how injured to look when the problem was solved for her by a bullet to the leg. Crying out in pain, she fell and phased her armor back on to keep from further damage, but now she couldn't move. Several agents tried to approach her, but were warded off by pistol rounds as she emptied her clip. Certain that no more bullets would come, they moved up and kept their rifle's trained on her while they radioed in their success.

"This would be a great time to come and help me," she muttered as she lay there.

Her memory was just sorting out a portion of what she had access to. "Fusion not stable..." She muttered to herself. Fusion. That's what happened. Where two archons bond together and work in perfect harmony. But the fusion had been imperfect. It had been unstable, and nearly led to some bad things. She looked up as Ember adress her, blinking slightly and then she sighed. "I... I'm Tina." She then paused. "I know who you are. You don't remember, but we met before." She explained. She wasn't too sure when, but they had. Then she smiled. "And yes. Moving in would be a good idea... us being close together, as potentially destructive as it sounds, will be for the greater good.... I think." She spoke. "Oh. And we have to try that again sometime."

Ember

She knows me? And she wants to try something again sometime? Looks like I made another weird buddy. "Erm, sure, I" A moments pause occurred and a smile became visible. Of course this person knows who I am, I'm obviously famous by now. "Ooh, you must be a fan to know who I am. You'll have so much fun living around my volcanoes, Aqua lives there to, she likes water. I always preferred fire, but to each their own. Oh also, that person over there" I pointed at Azure "is my adopted son Azure, I'd ask him to say hi to you but he's in a kinda grumpy mood since I made him clean up his room. In any case follow me to your new home, my island, the Ember isles, with the volcano Ember at the Ember sea. I'm Ember by the way."

And just like that I took off heading towards the Ember isles, never stopping to talk really, regardless of checking if she could be heard or not. "By the by,what do you mean with do that again? Or are you talking about watching me? Because I can understand if people want to see more of me, which makes you really lucky because you'll be living close to me. You'll be like a celebrity by proxy. I'm so jealous of you, you can actually watch me, I actually have to be me, and when you're you then it's hard to admire yourself without seeming vain, and I am not vain, just massively important and better than everyone."

Jake pursed his lips. If Mars wouldn't do this, the team would fall apart and they'd all die in combat. Or else argue over who got the remote, all the time. Either way, it was unpleasant.

But Jake had a solution. With a tensing of his legs, he flung himself up to the railing. Standing on the edge, Jake shouted "MARS! CATCH ME!" He sincerely hoped that Mars would man up, otherwise Elena would have to do some floor work. Or make him do some floor work. Again, unpleasant either way.

And then, Jake fell.

California - LA, several days later
"So what, exactly, are we waiting around for, Boss?" Ironclad leaned against the wall of the training room in their LA base. "And why haven't we moved to Jump yet?"
Overmind, who had found her team far more willing to communicate with her in her human form, sighed. "We're waiting on a signal from my operative in Jump. It used to be the crossroads for minor Heroes, and when I was setting up my base there, I saw a couple congregating. I don't want to move in on their territory without more information on who they are, so I sent Multiple Man in to do recon."
Cheetah opened the door to the next room, looking around the room with a glare, before focusing on Ironclad. "Steel- Did you drink the last beer?"
Ironclad paled slightly before activating his powers. "Look, Barbara, I was going to pay you back-"
"Oh, you sure will!" Cheetah pounced raising her claws before she was slammed to the ground by Overmind. "D-Damn Boss, you're faster than you let on." She grimaced.
"Stop squabbling." Overmind rolled her eyes. "With Madrox doing recon and setting up the finishing touches on our Jump base, we should be there soon."
Ironclad sighed with relief, lowering his metal skin. "Where are Psimon and Fixer, by the way?"
"Fixer is in the garage, working on a surprise I have in store, and Psimon is playing with his pet." Overmind replied.
"Creepy motherfucker." Cheetah muttered.
"He probably knows you said that." Ironclad laughed.
"Good." Cheetah replied, rolling her eyes.

In the Garage
"And... Done." Fixer smiled broadly. Before him stood an almost perfect replication of the Red Volcano, a long dead villain. Not only would it be perfect to test the team against- It could also be shut down on a whim, allowing him to give the illusion of victory, even in a loss.

In a Dark Room, at the back of the Base
"Psimon says... Stand." In the centre of the room, a middle aged man with a blank expression looked up at the source of the voice, hidden in the darkness.
"Pismon says stand!" The man lurched, as if in pain, before slowly standing. In the darkness, Psimon smiled menacingly.
"Psimon says... Burn."

The man looked down at himself, then back up. Suddenly, his body burst into flames- He stood in the centre of the room, as docile as a dog. Psimon could hear the mental screams of Martin Stein, trapped inside the immobile and unresponsive body of Ronald Raymond, the Firestorm.

In the main room
Overmind considered for a second. "Yeah." She conceded. "He's pretty damn creepy."

Jump City
The Multiple Man glanced at the computer screen, where Overmind's software was slowly, undetectably, tapping them into every wired camera in the city. Several of his copies were patrolling the streets, looking for any sign of the various Heroes that Overmind had given him pictures of. Meanwhile, two of his copies played chess in the main room, and four were sparring in the training room. "We're back!" Several of his copies announced suddenly, opening the door. Each had a bundle of groceries in their hands, having gone out to get supplies.

Madrox smiled and leaned back in his chair, simply opting to sleep.

Mars
Suddenly Jake went up to the railing and jumped off, telling Mars to cat catch him. What the hell was he doing? He wasn't even standing over the mattress. Luckily, Mars had his rocket propelled boots in and sprung into action. Jake may have been annoying and childish, but Mars couldn't just let him fall. He just off the railing and nosedived, propelling himself faster to catch up to Jake, before grabbing him from under his arms and bringing him down gently to the ground. "What was that Jake? You could have gotten killed! This isn't a game. And you shouldn't treat it like one!" He said to the younger boy angrily.

"Oh, yay, you caught me!" Jake said, excitedly. He grinned widely, bouncing a couple times on the mattress. He knew Mars was PO'd, but who cared? He could be trusted. No dying in battle, no arguing over the remote…none of it.

"I could get killed?" Jake said, making a faux-horrified face, like that kid from Home Alone. He pulled a switchable from his pocket, flipped the blade open, and crushed the iron knife against his forehead before using his heat vision to melt it to slag. "By a fall?"

"Okay okay. How about this? I'm going to be completely honest with you." Naja said. "Lex is a dumb name. If you're going to change you're name, that fine. But pick something better. Like... Xander. Though the Hex name is really good. Keep that."

"That... Is actually way better. Xander it is. And screw it. I'm hungry now. I'm officially and legally American now. Americans don't wait for stuff." He said and used his magic to conjure a cheeseburger. Which he started to eat.

"Said the woman who used her heat vision to warm leftovers..." He said and took a big bite out of his burger. "You don't get to judge me woman!"

"Is your brain okay? Katie didn't fry anything did she?"

"Nah. I'm just in a strangely good mood."

"Well that's great. I think I'm gonna go lie down for a bit-" She said and looked to the sky. "Nevermind! Big ship about to crash into Earth!" She shouted and took at with such speed, that the back draft knocked Xander down and caused him to drop his burger. The ship was massive, and the people inside were... Kree? What a Kree battleship was doing this close to Earth and on fire was beyond her. She caught it, but she couldn't push too hard, lest she punch straight through it like a needle through skin.

"That was rude. But she has a point about the ship smashing us. Goddammit, we'd be so far along in being a galactic empire if we didn't have to deal with this bullshit every 5 minutes." He muttered and teleported a few miles from under the crashing ship. Naja had spread herself out to maximize her effort. Several other flying powerhouses, Superman, Thor, and several others with anyway to cushion the impact were helping. Alex used his magic to increase the durability of the ship, allowing the heroes to use their strength to stop and guide the ship to a place where it wouldn't crash and kill a bunch of people. "And there we go."

Naja used her claws and sliced open the hull to see many of the Kree either unconscious. Xander 'ported over to the wreckage to help get everyone out. "Alright. I'll see about helping everyone who's unconscious." He said and cast a healing spell over the area of the ship to start healing the injured while Naja came across a Kree she had met before. Ronan the Accuser.

"Ronan? I haven't seen you in a long time. Not since the whole Ultron thing. What's the big idea trying to crash a ship on our planet? We haven't done anything to you... Lately. At least I don't think we have." She said lifting some wreckage off of the Accuser.

"It is a long story. It would be simpler to explain that we are all going to die."

"Are you always a pessimist or is that just a Kree thing?"

"Oh god dammit."
SWORD Peak base - Antarctica
"What's up, Boss?" Agent Deeds walked up behind Commander Brand, then looked at the screen.
"Oh god dammit."
Commander Brand sighed before pushing a button. "All hands on deck-Massive Kree vessel entering the atmosphere in NYC. As usual. Avengers and JL are confirmed on site, but we want one of our own there for when things go to shit. And they will. They always do. Manifest, thanks for volunteering, head to the docking bay. Everyone else, continue to do your job. All support resources are going to Manifest for this one."
Manifest groaned before heading to the docking bay. On his way there, he was stopped by two rather overexcited SWORD agents and Commander Brand. "Manifest, this is Fitz-Simmons. Don't ask me which is which, I don't have a clue. They've got some schematics for you to look at before you go."
Manifest smirked. "Wonderful."
Half an hour later
Manifest boarded his supersonic Quinjet and launched towards New York. He would arrive relatively shortly afterwards. In his hand, he spun his new stun gun, affectionately called an "Icer" by Fitz-Simmons. I wonder which is which.

Aaron Marsters

Aaron had slept well that night, nestled up between the sheets of his old bedroom, even with his legs hanging off the bed. But in the morning, Connie had woken him up, shoved bacon and eggs into his open mouth, and told him that there was a ship heading for the outskirts of of NYC and he needed to move NOW, DAMMIT. So, trying to chew and also manage to keep his mouth shut for fear of a massive scolding, Aaron opened the window, hopped out, and took flight. He was barely below the speed of sound and arrived in time to see the ship slam into the ground. Drifting slowly downward, Aaron scanned the area for civilians, but found none.

He landed on the ground, near…holy crap, it was Superman. "Erm…Superman?"

The Man of Steel simply grunted "Yeah?"

"Can I help?"

Brushing off his hands, Superman examined Aaron. Not with X-rays, but simply a once over. "I don't know, can you?"

Aaron sighed, turned, and began to lift bits of wreckage from the area, pulling unconscious Kree from the ship wherever he found them.

Simon Black/Blackburn

Simon had, of course, known about the ship as soon as it entered Earth's atmosphere. He tried to keep track of what landed or appeared on his planet, but this one was different. It possessed a strange energy, and that made checking it out worthwhile. However, even Simon's magic had limits, namely that portling directly to NYC would be enough to potentially awaken Blackburn, and that would be bad. So instead, he jumped a few hundred miles at once: LA to Phoenix, Phoenix to Tulsa, Tulsa to Jefferson City, Jeff City to Indianapolis, Indianapolis to NYC, and then he was there.

Sensing some magic in the air, Simon looked up first thing after arriving. A young man floated in the air, and with a push of will, Simon rose to his level, examining the area.

"A healing spell? Clever, and that takes a lotta juice for this whole area." he said, admiringly. He didn't know this kid, but he seemed good. "Anything needing some fixit mojo right now?"

Craig was about to fly up and have his Orb scan the entire planet when he received multiple alerts from various satellites and the Internet that a massive ship had just landed outside of New York City. Using his psionic link with his armor, Craig sip united up, and informed Etla and Ihra, inviting them to join him.

When he arrived, several heroes were already on the scene but he figured with such a large ship, the more, the better. After his orb, absorbed within his armor had told him it was of Kree origin, Craig accessing the Internet and various databases of Earth to learn everything he could of the Kree while he helped lift debris off Kree soldiers.

With his 100% brain capacity Craig was very skilled at multitasking, as he did here. He was simultaneously helping the rescue mission, listening to his AI inform him of the Kree and having his Orb examine the interior tech of the ship, it being downloaded into his brain for further study at a later time.

“Well, I haven’t had anyone to hug yet. Most people seem to run away when they see me or give me strange looks. Even when I’m not big” She remarked. “That makes sense. I don’t think about my own death much so I have little reason to actively seek them out.” She paused. “But… it’s nice. I like that it makes other people happy and not… want to throw fire at me.” She shuddered. “I don’t like fire…” She commented.

Any ideas?"

Xyri looked up at the balcony and shrugged. She walked to it, walking up the stairs towards the Balcony itself and stood on it, looking down at the people. She paused, waiting for her go.

Mars
Mars just rolled his eyes and scoffed at Jake's demonstration of his powers. "It's that kind of attitude that's going to get you killed. Keep thinking nothing is going to be able to hurt you, and we'll be looking for a replacement soon enough." Mars said angrily, mad at how Jake didn't seem to be taking this seriously. "Grow up, life isn't a game." He said seriously. Mars was never really childish and rarely joked around which was one reason he didn't have any friends his age.

Vera was walking around Jump City out of armor and in Civilian clothes, relying that knowledge of what she looks like is still being held by officials from Second Industries. while on her walk she found some strange occurrences, namely there seemed to be the arrival of a large amount of twins. Either that or she's going crazy and seeing the same person multiple times...
Though the latter is more likely in her mind, she tails one of them from a distance to see where they go, relying on this person ignores her. upon seeing he's just going to get grocery's Vera decides to just make a note of their existence, there is no way this isn't important, even if it is her just going crazy.
Meanwhile she had something else to do. After getting back into her armor, she starts moving across the city, planning to scout some areas in hope to find leads or information she can use. She'll get to the area first, and then decide what to do from there.

Mars stepped toward Jake as well and was about to take him up on his offer when Elena shouted at them to stop arguing. Then she told him catch Xyri. He didn't like taking orders at all, but finally pellet his eyes from Jake. "Fine, let's just get this ridiculous exercise over with." He grumbled, as he moved toward the mattress beneath Xyri.

Jake, being eleven, stuck his tongue out at Mars as soon as he was reasonably sure that Elena wasn't looking at him. Then, with another leap, he propelled himself to the railing, landing near Kiris. He leaned over to her, whispering "Ten bucks says that when Xyri knocks Mars down, the stick up his butt'll come outta his mouth."

Then, Jake leaned against the railing, his thoughts boiling. How could Mars act so superior, he wondered, when he just…just used Optimus freaking Prime! That was his only power! The stupid idiot.
