Early Hysjīan Period

As spiritualism declined so did the views of animals holding a significant place in the order of the universe. Soon, hunting techniques developed and meat became a common staple in the market place. Hunting reached its hight with the discovery of archery. The new hunting technique proved deadly to any animal that crossed the arrow's path so it was added to the city's arsenal immediately.

Early Hysjīan Period
The new demand for tools and weapons brought about the idea of an organized mining system. Instead of a few lone craftsmen going out to the hills to collect rocks, now they city has hired "Minurvaī" or "miners" (named after the God Minurvy, god of the hills) to dig large cave-like tunnels into the ground to collect rocks and a new metal called "bronze". It's uses are unknown but it has been found to be a durable metal and can be shaped into arrowheads and spearheads.

'Zarosi Era

Postby Kzaria » Fri Mar 27, 2015 7:51 pm

The 'Zarosi period began when the Xij began the first permanate settalment and ceased being nomads. They settled north of the wastes and south of the Hysjī plain lands, and adopted much of the natives of the hill-natives technology, advances in the fields of Animal Husbandry, Horseback riding, Bronze working, Mystistism, and Agraculture. Also the vary first farms of the Xij were created in the village of K'rosi.

The Xij faith was called Eik'ijko, and involved various sacrifices such as that of living things, The Xij Gods and goddess' were very intune with nature and animals, which was reflected in their rituals.
The King of the gods was Dûrn, God of death, sin, and lightning, The wolf god Horo was the god of hunting, the fox goddess Holo was the goddess of the harvest and buissness, the love goddess Linih was a cat and the god of life, Tr'vetr was a flame.

'Zariosi Era

Postby Kzaria » Sat Mar 28, 2015 3:25 pm

Due to the settling down of the Xij, they have started to learn simple pottery and masonry. By learning these crafts they have made life living in one area easier for the once-nomads, they have also come up with a way to hunt and shoot bows while on horseback making even the most dangerous hunt easier, many young men have been starting to train themselves to hunt like this and creating the first offical military unit of the Xij, before it was just a bunch of nomads raiding but now they had a home of they're own and they wanted to protect it.

The First Epic

After the first mine is completed, it was found to be incredibly inefficient so a dedicated miner was appointed to the Council of Elders, being granted the title of "Ejutī if Ihtyuī ers Minurvaī" or "The Elder of Industry and Mining." The mining industry improved significantly before the year's close and soon other mines opened with the consent of the Elders. Industry exploded in the city and grew much larger than the actual demand, making prices drop in the markets and attract merchants from all over the plains region.

With the influx of merchants came a desire to show the foreigners that the Hysjīan people were like no other, with their own sophisticated culture, government, and advanced technology. Out of this desire came the Aimless Travels of the King of Fields of Grain, the first epic to be composed anywhere in the world. The long tail of a wronged king and an misunderstood god brought together by fate and their eventual reign as King and God of Hysjīania (the first time this term was ever used to describe the Hysjīan people) inspired the people with it's stories and poetry. The tale spread throughout the land by priests who devoted their lives to memorising the stories, poetry, religious traditions and epics (something that will eventually lead to priesthood) and is, even today, considered the most important contribution of the Early Hysjīan period.

Industry upgrade: -1 point
With the organisation of the mining industry, it is now more efficient and productive than before.

Technology upgrade: -1 point
Animal Husbandry: the local wildlife have now been tamed by the many farmers, the farms are now slightly more productive.

Culture upgrade: -2 points
-With the completion of Aimless Travels of the King of the Fields of Grain, the civilisation's first epic, stories of the gods, heroes, and kings of distant (and rumoured to be nonexistent) lands spread like wildfire throughout Ojktuiī and had an incredible impact on the culture of the Hysjīan people.
-Poetry begins to spread throughout the Civilisation after the epic is completed. Now "Jusutns" or poets begin composing poetry and significantly influence the Hysjīan culture.

'Zarisoi Era

Xij Religious reformation

The simple beliefs of The Xij were shaken and changed when a terrible drought stalked the land the Xij decided to settle, causeing the Xij to belive that the gods had turned angry and demanded change or they would snuff the life out of the land. Several Village elders and seer's grouped together and reformed the Xij faith in to a polytheistic religion complet with Preisthood and Meditation to purify the soul, called Xiji'k. Most of the Gods changed or had a name change. The Gods and goddess' names and roles are,
•Duo'h - Chief of the Gods, God of Death and the sky, Father of the twins Holo and Horo, Father of Paro.
Patron animal: Eagle
•Yue - Chieftess of the Gods, Goddess of Life, Mother of the twins Holo and Horo, Mother of Paro
Patron animal: Hawk
• Eors' - God of Earth
Patron animal: Bear
• Luqee' - Goddess of the Sea and love
Patron animal: Whale
•Inti - God of Fire, Craftmenship, and Strength
Patron animal: Vulture
•Paro - God of War and Sacrifice
Patron animal: Horse
•Holo - Holo is the Goddess of Harvest, Wisdom, and Good fortune
Patron animal: Wolf and the fox
•Horo - Horo is the God of Hunting, Instinct, and Honor
Patron animal: Wolf
•Yuuk'ziin - Yuuk'ziin is the Goddess of Sin, Murder, and Dishonor/Misfortune, Wife of Inti enemy of Horo and Holo
Patron animal: Crow

In Xijis'k has many different spiritual points where life energy flows like a river (probably blood), each of these points also have a emotion or feeling attached and if these points are too badly damaged the person will die, examples of these points are the Head, Heart, Stomach, Wrists, and inner calf, while many points are accurate there are some strange ones. Life energy is sometimes gets clogged and meditation on certain things is needed to resume health flow again.

There are certain fesitvals that take place, The harvest festival is one of the most frequently done, besides the one givin to all the gods during the full moon, The Harvest festival is done when the last section of grain (usualy wheat) is harvested and when the last bit of grain is harvested the person is possessed by Holo and locked in a barn for 3 days to signify Holo being kept with the people. Giant Wolf and Fox statues made of sticks and grass are burned in the twins honor and a feast is held.

Early Writing Appears

Following the great burst of culture came a new religious interest and growth. Meditation was beginning to be practised in the many temples throughout the city, although it is unknown where it first started. Another major development was the bringing of formal priesthood. Priests and Priestesses must go through rigours training to become a full member of the church and, now with educated scholars as religious leaders, missionary groups were being sent throughout the land to convert travellers and other travelling tribes still looking for a place to settle for their own.

While the exact date is unknown, historians do know that the Elders met with the religious leaders to begin working on a writing system. After several years of research the first alphabet was devised. It contained 69 characters, several of which were very complex and were hard to tell the difference between other characters. This system was used for exactly two days before another revision went underway and, about three months later, they released a 34 character alphabet system. The general populace was satisfied with the new system however they met for a final time and made a 30 character system their official alphabet. They met on and off for the next 30-50 years to determine proper grammar, spelling of words, and other technical aspects of the new written language.

The growth of trade and local demand for simple manufactured goods such as baskets, metal tools, and carts (especially round wheels) caused a growth in the manufacturing industry, leading to the building of new workshops that cater only to merchants and locals, not the city in general.

Hundreds of years have passed since the Xiji'k Reformation and the Xij have happily lived in the now huge village they had built, several of the military and aristocratic powers wanted to find out what kind of neighbooring peoples, if any, there were. So the Soldiers geared up for a expodition into the wilds and got on they're horses north, were the hills flatened out and in the distance they saw a bridge of land and a Civilization they had never known...they had encountered the first contact with the Hysjīan
