As long as it decently elaborates the character's back story, it can be as brief as you want, I believe.

Because with one pilot shot down, one being tailed by a trio of bandits, and a couple of wounded fighter jets there just wasn't enough tension and drama yet!

Hey, Saint, how far apart are Shark and Sphinx/Frosty?

If they're relatively close, I've got an idea that will most likely make Frosty the most hated pilot.
