I have a friend who's really into it, but never bothered to learn myself.

Some Japanese ones employing alliteration:

• Youkai no Yoru [妖怪の夜] (Night of the Youkai)
• Yami ni Youkai [闇に妖怪] (Youkai in the Darkness)
• Yomi ni Yoru [黄泉に夜] (A Night in Yomi)

If you like these but want more options, I could come up with a few more.

Also, if you do decide to go with a Japanese title, I would suggest an English subtitle. It could be a simple translation of the Japanese title (in which case I would substitute "youkai" with something like "monster" or "fairy" or "demon", and "Yomi" with something like "Hell" or "the Netherworld"), or it could be a single word encompassing one of the main themes of the RP, or it could be something that helps set the tone of the RP. Alternatively, if it's a very dark RP, you could give it a subtitle that sounds all happy and airy-fairy, to emphasise the contrast; however, some players looking for a dark RP may be turned off by such a lighthearted subtitle. One way to circumvent this is to put one or two of the genres in the title of the thread (NB: not as part of the actual title of the RP), or to have a picture at the beginning of the OP that sets a very dark tone.

I'm going to need more information on the RP itself to assist further.

In this situation, not really. She's a zealot who thinks being a shrine maiden is all about exterminating youkai, which is very bad for Gensokyo in the long run.

Also it'd be stealing Reimu's job, which is bad, possibly piss off Yuuka, which is very bad, and since it disturbs the balance of Gensokyo, it would definitely piss off Yukari, which is very, very, very bad.

Basicaly it's made up of three games with unintuitive titles: Extra, Unlimited and Alternative.

Extra is just a cliché high school romance/harem thing, with a main plot revolving around the love triangle between the protagonist, his childhood friend and the new lovely transfer student. Then after completing one of the main heroine routes in Extra, you unlock Unlimited.

I won't spoil much, but there's a complete military sci-fi genre twist with industrial tons of cool mecha. It also starts getting dark.

Then there's Alternative, which is spoilerrific to even speak about, but it is basically the best game in the series and it's set firmly in the mecha sci fi. Very linear novel, but entertaining.

I have a guide to it somewhere. Let me check.
