Some Japanese ones employing alliteration:If you like these but want more options, I could come up with a few more.
- Youkai no Yoru [妖怪の夜] (Night of the Youkai)
- Yami ni Youkai [闇に妖怪] (Youkai in the Darkness)
- Yomi ni Yoru [黄泉に夜] (A Night in Yomi)
Also, if you do decide to go with a Japanese title, I would suggest an English subtitle. It could be a simple translation of the Japanese title (in which case I would substitute "youkai" with something like "monster" or "fairy" or "demon", and "Yomi" with something like "Hell" or "the Netherworld"), or it could be a single word encompassing one of the main themes of the RP, or it could be something that helps set the tone of the RP. Alternatively, if it's a very dark RP, you could give it a subtitle that sounds all happy and airy-fairy, to emphasise the contrast; however, some players looking for a dark RP may be turned off by such a lighthearted subtitle. One way to circumvent this is to put one or two of the genres in the title of the thread (NB: not as part of the actual title of the RP), or to have a picture at the beginning of the OP that sets a very dark tone.
I'm going to need more information on the RP itself to assist further.

Essentially, I'm planning on making a lighthearted comedy adventure episodic RP, where all the characters are part of an incident-response team that deals with incidents when Reimu or Marisa aren't around

... Ah. In that case, I would omit references to the night, darkness, and Yomi, I suppose. I tend to think pretty dark, so I must have been projecting that onto this.
So, if you're still interested in a Japanese title, I could come up with a few more lighthearted titles.

Left out whichever ones I forgot. Also where the hell is Suwako? Also also this image is old as hell, there's nobody from Touhou 12, Touhou 13, Touhou 14, Touhou 14.5, or Touhou 15.
Which reminds me I need to install 14.5 and 15.Nature-Spirits wrote:I've never tried to get into the Touhou franchise, so I know zippity.
It's a bullet hell top-down shooter franchise with a few official manga and light novels that has, for no understandable reason, produced more fanart, fan manga, and fan porn than any other Japanese franchise.
There are also a few fighting games that, despite not being made by Touhou's one-man development team, are still canon.

In this situation, not really. She's a zealot who thinks being a shrine maiden is all about exterminating youkai, which is very bad for Gensokyo in the long run.
That was only really in Mountain of Faith. Then Reimu repeatedly whacked her over the head and convinced her otherwise

Well, I admit there's sooo many characters over there. But my favourites chiefly among them are Reimu and Myon~. :3

The thing that really makes the franchise so well known is the fanon.
There's so damn much of it.

I'm going t pledge some money to it, because the idea of the fandom becoming even bigger is gut for me.

I'm completely Muv Luv-illiterate, unfortunately. Is it good?
