What if Anime died out in 5 years time? (clicky, clicky, linky, linky) I think the shocking part about this, is that I found myself agreeing with him, but that I've had the same discussion in my mind before
Yeah, right. Anime is more popular then ever, when you consider the millions of fans out of Japan. And I've grown tired of this endless drivel about how "all modern anime is sh*t" and only stuff from at least five years ago is worth watching. That's BS. The ratio of sh*t to good anime hasn't changed since the foundation of the industry, let alone now that animation techniques are unmatched. Of course we're going to "feel like we've seen this before", there just isn't an unlimited amount of concepts and ideas to be had. That doesn't make everything the same, let alone mediocre. People like that see similarities and recycling everywhere because they're looking for them.
Also, why should anyone listen to Anno Hideaki on this topic? He loathes the anime fanbase. He's psychologically unstable. He's made that evidently clear both in his works and in his statements. Why should he be considered trustworthy about the state of the anime industry? It's like asking Michel Houellebecq about the state of France. We all know what he's going to say about it, and that it won't be good, ever. Even if the anime industry were in full bloom, effortlessly supported the entire economy of Japan and provided fifty million well-paid jobs a year, he'd complain about it.
On a more light-hearted topic, has anyone been watching Danna ga nani wo itteiru ka wakaranai ken (I can't understand what my husband is saying)? If you liked it, you should try the author's (Cool Kyoushinsa) other manga. I particularly like Ojojojo.TriStates wrote:
I'm a book person (Could live in a library book person) and I find it hard to read the manga after I watch the anime. It feels, kinda of lackluster in comparison.
You're probably going to miss the best arcs ...
I tend to like the manga better in most cases. Then again, I need reading more than air.Altito Asmoro wrote:Fullmetal Alchemist is as same as its anime adaptation.
I do hope you're talking about Brotherhood
I recalled there is no manga for the 2003 anime.
So yes.
