Why is the JGSDF sending Type 74s through the Gate? Why aren't they sending in the Type 90? Better yet, why not the Type 10?

Haven't watched the show, but maybe they were thinking they didn't want to lose their better equipment in case something with the Gate went horribly wrong and exploded them or something.

Considering the forces that came out of the Gate were pretty effectively pimpslapped into submission without tanks, I doubt this.

Besides, the JGSDF actually has more Type 90s than it has Type 74s.

Oh. I was going on the assumption that they had discovered the gate but had no idea what lay beyond it.

They actually say basically that at one point. Although its in reference to the rifles the Infantry are carrying rather than the tanks. Presumably it's the same deal.

Well, to be fair, the JGSDF are up against an opponent with the tech from the antiquity and medieval times, even with fantasy twist. What did you expect?

Just got done watching a bunch of ben-to AMV's and realised I've somehow never raved about it in this thread. Has anyone else seen it? It's not a perfect series by any means but it somehow remanins one of my very favourites and the opening is still my ringtone.

So an US Army helicopterpilot on Reddit made himself a pretty badass helmet patch with the FOX logo on it, and he can actually wear it on duty.

Granted, he will never beat the JSDF's Homuchoppers.

And good god, so much of this reminds me of a piece of canon I used to have until some time ago which basically was this anime, except that the hideous bloodbathslaughter lasted less long.

I think the only thing they avoid even revealing is that Japan isn't actually the most advanced nation available. Also, you gotta love that somehow

Seriously, that's the only thing that bothers me about the anime. Then again, that's the case with all anime. Does anyone know of any anime that don't actively Japan-wank?
