The Abridged was more entertaining.

Yeah but it doesn't count because it didn't finish what it started.

And if we're suggesting abridged series, go with Hellsing Ultimate's.

Or watch professional voice actors abridge an anime with the English dub of Ghost Stories. Somewhat dated with its references, but extremely funny.

Tokyo Ghoul is decent, though its edgyness can deter people.
Hetalia is grossly overhyped by Tumblr and DeviantART simultaneously. It's not that bad, but it's not that good either.

Sadly, there are no real anime that compare to House of Cards - politics seems to be a touchy subject in Japan, and as a result there aren't many anime, manga, or movies of note about the Japanese government. Except Servant x Service, but that's a comedy.

As a starter I'd suggest Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

I'd rather follow real politics to be honest, lol.

Anyway thanks for the insight and recommendations everyone. Much better than my few weeaboo friends giving their advice based on boob physics and numbers of upskirts. Thanks everyone.

While the Team 4 Star one was funny, there's another one that actually made it past episode 1.

Been waiting a damn year for the next episode, and you just rub it in my face a month or two before it's released. I hate you...

Watch Mayouu Maou Yuusha. It does have a plot that wouldn't be out of place in an American TV series.

Mind, it's fantasy.

I've gotten back to watching some Fate stuff recently, since I hadn't really gotten to see much, due to various reasons. Including adding it to a list somewhere and forgetting about what episode I was up to. On a related note...

A Fate RP might be good, though I haven't seen any in a while, other than a Fate-style RP on another website. Though that was a bit different, and seemed to take a "let's make Servants be anime characters from different settings thrown into one particular RP crossover type thing" route. Anyway...

That might depend on how many people want in. I think I'd favour each player only being a servant or master though.

Y'know, my previous RP idea for a Servant was for an emo genderbent Attila as Rider or Berserker.

And then Fate/Grand Order happened. :V

Well, I agree with the others. I think individual characters would be best, rather than doing two in one.
Not sure whether canon or original characters would be best, though trying to fit into a predetermined personality with a canon character, can often be troublesome.

On another note, if I was going to do a canon servant, I'd obviously play as Astolpho. :p

the only thing about having seperate RPers for servants and masters is that you are kind of in the lurch if your partner drops out for whatever reason. Also I feel like more people will want to play as servants than masters since they get to do all the cool bits for the most part.

That's true. And it could be easier being the servant since you have a predefined character to go off of, whereas with a master you're having to create every aspect of them and their decisions from scratch.

I had a bizarre idea just now: through some freak accident, the historical figures become the masters, and seven random normal people become servants.

For a second I thought you were saying that was an actual series that had already been done before I remembered the joke.
